lol
Palworld Removes Gliding Due to Nintendo Lawsuit
Nintendo won
Pokemon invented flying mounts
based
Would not have held up in court if Pocketpair was not based in Japan. The Japanese courts are fucking nuts in how pro corporation they are. Japanese corporations can also sue (and win) consumers just for tinkering with hardware and modifying files on devices they own.
Patent on being carried by a flying animal
How the fuck is that even copyright capable? It's so broad of an idea.
At this point I hope the Chinese just bomb Japan
You're still buying a Switch 2.
i invented the concept called bird
Nintenjew
destroy pokemon
destroy palworld
kek what will Nintendoinks ruin next
It's not copyright capable. Its patent capable.
Nintendo should sue Fromsoft as well.
It'd be funny
Nintendo is as shit as it gets but I'm entirely convinced that they wouldn't have gave a shit if Snoyniggers and PCdrones didn't spend 5 straight months saying "HAHAHHAHA TAKE THAT NINTENDONT", they couldn't just have taken the W, but noooo, they had to fucking brag about.
Chinks are worse than japs, so this is retarded. Especially on weird litigious stuff
Two nukes wasn't enough.
Nintendo's legal team wholly operates on the opinions of shitposts on Anon Babble
I can't imagine a company possibly being as schizo and hostile as you can, apparently.
nips, chinks, gooks…
who cares?
they are all dying out. All males are gooner weebs or becoming trannies, all females stounch feminists
Pretty fucking sure WoW had flying mounts before any Pokemon game did, and I don't even think WoW was the first ones either. Being able to patent something that already exists is fucking retarded.
steal assets
complain when sued
It's only okay when Nintendo does it.
Pokemon fans will unironically a "win"
So baffling to me that they cant just tell nintendo to fuck off over this dumb shit
Who even are the fucking psychos who go to court to defend some little shit mechanic like that
nooo all assets must be made from scratch
Didn't they steal actual code from gamefreak? Why is everyone ignoring this?
This but unironically
They're all about to get raped by Muslim and African immigrants anyways
It can't happen any faster.
It's a patent. Did you forget what game mechanics have been patented in the past? Crazy Taxi direction arrow, Nemesis system, Insanity system, Final Fantasy X sphere grid, Sonic going through a corkscrew loop, Mass Effect Dialog Wheel, The ball sticking mechanic of Katamari Demacy. The only good thing about a patent is that it can't be renewed. Once it expires, it's up for everyone to use without the fear of being sued which is the real reason you want a patent in the firs place. To sue people if you get within an inch of the idea.
because that didn't happen
deep down tendies know suing people over similar game mechanics, let alone ones as broad as "flying on a bird" is completely indefensible and not only harms gaming but sets precedents that harm all of technology as a whole, so they make up things like that because they can't possibly imagine daddy nintendo just being evil
DELET THIS
damn i guess it's really over
might as well kys now
nintendo invented mounts
nintendo invented creatures
nintendo invented video
nintendo invented games
probably just in japan
gliding? are they going to remove all gliding from the bamhan games and fortnite also?
and what does it have to do with an animal? Link glides just fine in BOTW on a kite, not a bird. I am having trouble following this level of kikery
So gliding with a glider is okay, but gliding with an animal is not okay, because Nintendo invented animals
when I'm riding a chocobo and I jump off a ledge, I can glide on it
the Sekrets in MH Wilds can also glide
help me understand bros
It was retarded in all though instance and equally so here. Game mechanics being patentable is absolutely retarded.
Oh shit nigga, is this an ANTI-NINTENDO thread? You might get your thread deleted and BANNED!
More like Piss World
nintendo is just doing the grape-shot legal strategy where you hit your opponent with as many things as possible to complicate their legal defense beyond the point where it's financially viable to defend against it, and they're hoping at least one of the things sticks
I think it's specifically if you dangle underneath it, but it's completely retarded whatever the specific tiny niggling details are, because it's so clearly NOT what the lawsuit is for. It's Nintendo bullying a potential competitor out of business with their massive stacks of cash, they freaked out when they saw how popular Palworld was suddenly getting and the narrative around it causing discussions on how totally incompetent GayFreaks are.
gamefreak code is subhuman garbage. Who would steal that?
I hate patents. Jewish bullshit that slows down humanity innovation
This is our revenge, palchuds.
Nothing a simple mod won't fix.
Modern pokemon is so shit its making other games worse
Fuck Nintendo
Increasingly oppressive slate of patents
Games Journalists need to fuck off. Being a blatant rip off used to be frowned on but now the world has turned into China.
Makes me sick motherfucker, how far that franchise done fell
Even if you heard this somewhere else, think about how retarded this concept is.
get baited into a suit-battle
ninty put you through a double-humiliation ritual of having to publicly lose cases, and then start removing things from your game
Absolutely brutal, I wonder which Israeli company they consulted with for their sudden level-up.
I hate that frivolous litigation is never prosecuted. In the US, too. Fucking state prosecutors are so corrupt, they just ignore all the illegal anti-consumer practices that is their job to prosecute. Not just shit like price-gouging, but obvious violations of safety regulations go unpunished until someone dies. I hate them so much.
as long as you can find something that is objectively not a natural phenomenon (like the mere concept of a square) then you can copyright it
this is honestly pretty mild as far as patents go, US patent #5,443,036 consists of 'using a laser pointer as a method to exercise cats' and #6,360,693 is quite literally just a stick with the intent of being marketed as a dog toy
You invented being a bitch
Relax buddy, it's just a joke.
Nintendo knows the competition is strong so they are sending their yakuza and jeets
You need to challenge the patent. But Japan is a very corrupt country and nobody can challenge Nintendo even if they should win.
nintendo invented jokes
On my way to patent strike Fromsoft right now.
Toryiama's dead.
Yeah, don't mess with the dragon of the orient and there won't be no problems.
Know your place, kuso bonjins.
How the fuck can you patent something like that? It's has to be prior art somehow. So many examples I can think of:
Digimon anime and world 1 game: Birdramon carries a person
Quackshot, you use a sticky plunger stuck to a bird in order to get over a big gap.
Fucking Chocobos, pretty sure you could mount them in the early FF games
Right, but stuff like the taxi arrow or sphere grid are entirely fictional and mechanical (as in game-mechanic) elements. Something like using a bird to fly is something that has been done in stories many times in the past. Does a dragon count?
If this can be patented, then you could also patent some bullshit like 'striking an enemy with a sword' or 'using arrows to break glass objects', stuff that most definitely happened in the real world and other pieces of art for sure.
Fuck Nintendo. They felt the heat from Palworld and had to rely on bullshit law crap in order to protect their pokegoose.
Hopefully pocketpair modifies the game so that the player rides on top instead. Problem solved.
Haven't played Palworld / Pokemon and I have 0 interest in them, but this is peak jewish behavior.
This, the only thing people should be sued on in my eyes when it comes to games is taking names and characters (i.e. some shmuck making an RPG staring Cloud Strife in a game not made by Square and trying to mass market it). Mechanics should have never been under this, could have had years of fun loading screens but thanks to fucking Bandai Namco, we never got it, and now it's not needed (patent expired) with how fast games load these days
I'm sure someone at Nintendo is angry as hell that they didn't think to patent "Characters jumping in 3D space"
Nintendo invented proximity chat
Patent cocksuckers are the worst.
Dear lord, and I thought reading legal docs was boring. Patent descriptions are the verbose meme turned to 11.
why is Anon Babble pro-copyright?
Maybe the patent is just a kind of pretext/mechanism for punishing Palworld for kind of blatantly ripping off pokemon
Total Nintendo death
ermm its actually a bird-shaped parasol powered by the nightlord's holy blood.
in 2024?
why doesn't nintendo just patent the concept of using ideas in a video game
Anon Babble just says whatever shit they think will make some imaginary loser who cares mad
How come FF14 gets a free pass when it's word for word what the patent entails
A flying monster that have a flying to walking transition based on when its flying or on land.
They even have one where you hang from.
is it true Nintendo wuz kangz too?
Simple: Because you can't implement a broad idea and that's not what happened here. The patent contains 60 pages of intricate detail describing their own implementation of the mechanic.
You are free to make your own implementation of this idea and put gliding monsters in your game (like hundreds of games did). Pocketpair chose to copy word for word every little detail described in TPC's patent.
nintendo tries to copyright sum shit that's been in vidya for a long time
Blizzard should sue Nintendo for infringing on their ownership of Flying Griffin Routes.
PP took the time to copy every detail of a 60 page patent
Sure thing, nintendie.
No amount of patent trolling will hide the fact that Pals are better desiged than the last few generations of Pokemon at the least. All Nintendo can do is seethe with these petty patents.
The fact they had to patch it out means that it must have been ruled to match the patent anon.
I know it's a big shock tp you but Pocketpair the company that fucking copies everything, copied the game mechanics too.
Agreed.
The people who unironically defend this must have some unique form of brainrot, or get a lot of money for it.
Though luck. That would require putting in actual work instead of stealing from someone else and Pocketpair is clearly incapable of that. They'll just remove it and leave as like that.
Half a year ago they also had to remove monster summoning mechanic and haven't replaced it with anything. They just appear next to you out of thin air.
That's how much they care about their loyal customers
Anon Babbleeddit is the most cucked board see how most boards pirate everything without fucks given while here there are fags crying about le corporations losing no existent sales.
Those other boards are full of poor people with dying interests because nothing makes money.
truth nuke
Your post reads like that of a sixteen year old.
Why is Nintendo like this? They haven't even made a new game with this feature. How many more other things have they patented but don't do?
I think I hate kiketendo more than blizzshart at this point. Tendo HQ might be my top 1 building I wouldn't mind seeing on fire.
Copyright and Patent are wholly different system.
Me making an original IP and then protecting it from pajeets who want to make 5,000 "horror movie" spinoffs of it is very different from saying
"Erm I own proximity chat for the next 40 years dur"
turns out Pokemon has the copyright for releasing a monster from a ball and then using it to fly around
funny how all the monster games with gliding mechanics that didn't rip off pokemon so shamelessly never ran into the same problem as palword
a trvke, if you will
Imo they should just make it something cool and edgy that nintendont can never do since they're a kids platform. Like a fox that Flys a starship that you can ride and controll from the back and it barrel rolls. But unironically
Nintendo also invented 2.5D
Yeah yeah Pokemon killer is dead scandalous
Why is she so fucking big
Nintendo has ties with yakuza. They even bought journos to ignore/downplay the competition
Wow you're delusional
Didn't they file a bunch of it after Palworld released
feb 20 2025
Does that mean the Pocket Pair devs are going to lose a pinky or something
Take your meds, Eric.
Nintendo invented looking at things/
NOOOOOOOOO NOT PATENTS [COMPANY] IS RUINING GAMES WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH
Just admit you've always hated Nintendo.
It can be both. Nintendo's the one abusing a broken system.
System exists to protect companies with new and interesting ideas, giving them the ability to profit from the idea before allowing others get their hands on it
Nintendo just patents every fucking concept they can possibly conceive of
I only started disliking nintendo when they started putting out nothing I liked.
It's now morphing into pure disgust for both the company and those that still dick ride them.
You literally would not have gaming today if not for Nintendo. Show some fucking respect.
Atari, Microsoft and SEGA would have picked up the slack.
They should go after the shadow of the colossus remake aswell.
Right, but stuff like the taxi arrow or sphere grid are entirely fictional and mechanical (as in game-mechanic) elements
Just like using a captured monster from a ball to fly around.
Also the fact you defended Crazy Taxi's arrow patent is disgusting. Literal arrow pointing you to a direction being patented ffs.
Game mechanic patents are 99% of the time retarded
Disgusting. Nintendo should shut down and destroy this game to obscurity.
Reminder that Nintendo wanted to patent jumping in video games
Are you 11 years old and from reddit?
Imagine being so fucking idiot and proceed to copy pokemon in so many aspect while you develop the game in fucking Japan were they can fuck your ass extra hard instead of a country that would not give a fuck, like China.
They patented after palworld came out though
China is already making a pokemon clone and this ones even more blatant. Gonna be hilarious watching nintendo shit itself as they cant do anything and it does better than their pokemon turd they release (the new one with "parks" where you dont even need to travel to catch pokemon)
If Nintendo died tomorrow gaming as a whole would be better off
Resident evil and silent hill did this literally 30 years ago.
How the fuck is this allowed.
Patents are a scam because they are not inherently scrace like private property. Good ideas are meant to be replicated, not restrained by mental retardation called intellectual property
Too bad companies will always look for ways to abuse copyrights and patents or whatever equivalent to screw over each other and people. It's no wonder the gaming industry is continuously stagnating.
Patents are there to spur innovation. What would be the point of attempting to innovate just to have your work stolen by a larger company.
Imagine not being able to patent your invention. What exactly is your plan when someone like Amazon steps in, decides to steal your invention and then start selling it on their platform. How exactly do you intend to compete, especially if you already put years of development into it.
Really hope China rapes them with their Pokemon game.
They spend more time filing lawsuits than making games and the saddest part is that every single lawsuit goes to the wrong places.
I'm not defending it. Just saying that it's an imaginary thing that doesn't exist in reality - we don't have an arrow floating in our view 24/7 pointing at things, so it is an "invention" technically.
In comparison, actions like riding an animal, looking at something that catches your eye are things that people most surely did before Nintendo "invented" them.
Its even simpler than that, get uppity enough and you'll get a shiny new 200 liters home on the bottom of Tokyo Bay. Nintendo is literally yakuza front.
The funny thing is I hadn't heard shit from the lawsuit going after any similarities with designs. Really how this whole thing kicked off. One of the most blatant details is Azurobe having the same exact hair strands and indentations as Primarina. Pretty obvious Palworld pulled a Nick Simmons. Despite Nintendo winning, they're fucking retarded with all the patent shit.
Nintendo tried to patent jumping in video games. There is nothing you can say to justify patenting basic video game mechanics
Nintendo relaxed too much and they know they have too much competition now so they are using their boomer influence
This shouldn't even be allowed. Adventure games have that thing too
Past good does not make up for present evil
haha yeah how could a small indie company like nintendo ever compete against a megalodon like pocketpair without patenting gliding
Nintendo has patents on "health bars" and "character menus" (attack, defend, flee).
If your game has these, you need to pay licensing fees to Nintendo.
That doesn't give them any special privileges. You don't see anyone giving a shit about Atari nowadays, and if we go by your logic they should be respected lmao imagine respecting modern atari
(Me)
To add, patenting shit that other games have done decades ago and have been doing it decades ago. Nintendo for example didn't invent using animals as gliders, in fact you cant name a game made by nintendo off the top off your head where you can do that.
Many other games have animal gliding so either something is off or Palworld devs just decided gliding is too much work and dropped it blaming Nintendo lawsuit.
They're taking advantage of the ignorance of the legal system when it comes to some of these mechanics, I doubt a 60 year old robe is going to understand half of what the case is even about and will default it to Nintendo's favor because his grandkids like Nintendo and he got them one for christmas one year.
jews ruin everything, jesus fucking christ
Nintendo has patents on hitboxes. Things like swords have a range of damage. If your game uses hitboxes, then Nintendo can sue you and get your game shut down.
I hope mihoyo shows gliding in their pokemon game just for the keks
Nintendo has patented "camera aiming". If you are aiming with a bow, or a gun, or anything, and your camera switches to the position of your weapon, Nintendo can sue you for infringing on their invention.
Capcom would be rich if they patented the over the shoulder view, if course Nintendo and their fans hate how popular Capcom still is
Did you know Nintendo invented "aiming"? If you can aim your weapon in different directions, Nintendo can sue you for stealing their invention.
It's because if palworld does it, nintendo will pursue legal action. Nintendo's not going after the other guys. I'm sure you understand why.
Keep crying.
You mess witht the bull, you get fucking horns.
It's pretty ironic. I recall a bunch of stories about patent trolls from Texas suing Nintendo over shit like the Wii Remote.
Nintendo has patents on "health bars" and "character menus" (attack, defend, flee).
If your game has these, you need to pay licensing fees to Nintendo.
Yes because Palworld humiliated their slop
We already know that Nintendo are petty butthurt losers
Fucking selma lagerlöf stealing from nintendo all the way back in 1909
Isn't this every JRPG ever?
Why does this shit company still exist
That's not gliding.
Bowmanbros...not like this.
We're FUCKED by Nintendo
The patent is about using a Flying Animal as a glider by holding on its leg, not riding it
Because Sega shat the bed after the mega drive.
Maybe every JRPG should stop STEALING from Nintendo? (patent filed in 2024)
Yakuza
Jewtendo doesnt make Shittymon games thats Crapfreak
Oh. Well that also looks completely different in the OP pic between them (don't know which is the original). But I guess it's easily solved then, just putting the player model somewhere else on the 'pal'
But this would require work. Pls understand they are poor small indie company.
Jew moment
Don't listen to the pilpul
The moment a kike starts the very first stage of a chain of movements which once completed leaves a giant fuming turd on your plate as a bullshit buffet is the moment you stop reading and point and laugh. And call him a kike.
The transformative and recursive nature of art is what made us progress in the field of fine artistic merits, you cannot build on void. Humanity is a chain. Kikes are the daemons severing that chain. They must be erased.
I guess later on they could do shit like make the shitty boring glider get some reskin based on your preferred Pal. But this is an unfortunate event regardless.
The solution they made is that you use a glider now. The pal is just flying next to you. There are pals that you can use to ride them and fly around and thats not changing
Nintendo is my friend.
This is so fucking stupid. Fuck Nintendo.
Love that this happened and I hope Nintendo denies them any sort of settlement. Force them into court and out all of their shitty business practices in discovery. Nothing but a chink adjacent studio that steals ideas and concepts to make their own slop.
The transformative and recursive nature of art is what made us progress
No, every era of human history has had some form of ownership the Greeks and Romans both had something similar to IP law and there's also the fact that replicating works accurately was difficult in the past.
you cannot build on void.
This is Jewish nonsense on the other hand designed to keep people from realising they can own their ideas.
TPC (which includes Nintendo) are just furious that Palworld not only humiliated the last few generations of Pokémon games but also actually sold quite well too.
I'm willing to bet that someone is going to act smug and reply
heh, they're actually Japanese, tendie
If that were the case then you'd be able to name an aspect of the game that makes it better.
Hi, Nintendo marketer
I asked people earlier to post their playtimes and not a single one did.
Weird that you "inb4" instead of just correcting the record yourself.
The entire game. I genuinely have issues naming even a single thing nintendo did better
I guess Nintendo still has the monopoly on cute brown girls I guess?
Who needs to market for Nintendo when 6m+ Switch2 sold out instantly
Meanwhile nintendo copied ubisoft lmao
Because you are cultists who feel threatened even by a small studios
Am I supposed to feel sorry for Team Cherry when they haven't released their highly anticipated sequel for going on 8 years now? Who cares if anyone rips them off?
LOL. They are going against the biggest videogame corpos that have the implementation in their games.
I don't see what is wrong with this picture.
small studios
You mean the one that stole trade secrets from Nintendo and ran to Sony to be their Pokemon clone? They're about to get ass fucked for everyone to see for a reason. Now post play time.
Not looking like an N64 game in 2024+.
AHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHA I thought the game was a massive success, surely they can pay a good lawyer right? :)))
Take that you fucking thief
this but unironically
melt down harder palfags, it's not gonna un-fuck your game
trade secrets
using a animal as a glider
You "people" have lost the plot
Nintendo should make a first party souls like so they can legally shut down fromsoft and monopolize the worst genre ever invented
Maybe you should actually read his post first.
Tick tock Timmy.
no playtime
This is your last (You)
So you can't name one thing. As expected.
really makes you think
fortnite has been copying nintendo (patent circa 2024)
grim
2025 game from a 100.000.000.000$ franchise looking like something made on a console from 30 years ago seems like a big deal to me.
FUCKING SONIC STEALING FROM NINTENDO!!!!!
webm unrelated? that looks exactly like the garbage you get in recent pokemon gens.
Now now small indie games have made that their modus operandi for many years already. And people buy those games so obviously it works.
That's not a nice thing to say about Palworld
Both of them have filed more lawsuits than games, it's why they're buddy buddy with each other.
brainlet here, have the devs been forced to pay any money to nintendo or are they just being forced to patch shit out of the game? because they made gorrillions of dollars when this thing launched, if they aren't being bent over the barrel for money this actually sounds like a pretty viable business strategy. other devs should clone well known games with improved features the fans have been asking for for years, even if you get sued chances are you can make enough money for it to be worth it overall.
nah
The point isn't money, nintendo wants an injuction so palworld gets nipped in the bud and literally not be able to sell anymore.
Let's be honest here, it's because no one here has actually played palworld to know that it's an absolute ball of shit. That's why people can only comment on the visuals which somehow looks worse than Pokemon because of all of those ready made assets being plopped down with no cohesion.
The Sims has this shit, and the sims sometimes clap after looking at things
Jesus christ this board is outright Moviebob levels of Nintendo dicksucker
Pal battles are better. Every pal has its own unique animation for every move too. Pokemon doesn't even have basic animations in newer games
Base building is subjective. Pokemon isn't about that but the fact it exists already puts it above pokemon
Actual boss battles
More utility for pals (used in the base, buffs for you etc)
You as the player being involved in gameplay
Better and more interactions with pals
Same as base building but base raids are nice
Breeding pals is a lot better for getting unique mixes of pals with abilities they wouldn't normally have, also a rarity system on passives but a lot of people dont like that grind (pokemon has nothing like this)
Cuter designs
NINTENDO
SUE THIS MAAM
They're pretrial injunctions forcing pal world to remove the content Nintendo is contesting. Pocket Pair does NOT want this to go to trial or all of their shit is getting subpoenaed.
have the devs been forced to pay any money to nintendo or are they just being forced to patch shit out of the game?
They aren't being forced to do anything, the case hasn't gone to trial yet.
other devs should clone well known games with improved features the fans have been asking for for years, even if you get sued chances are you can make enough money for it to be worth it overall.
Good devs generally won't do that because they actually have some semblance of artistic vision of their own.
That's said if they were to clone it they wouldn't be in any danger because they would most likely make their own version of a mechanic.
Good devs generally won't do that because they actually have some semblance of artistic vision of their own
Unless you're based Ninty in which case it's okay.
That's just remaking classic graphical designs, not reusing game mechanics. Completely different thing, your argument has been officially invalidated by your own making.
It fills me with dread for the future that people as braindead as this are allowed to reproduce.
Just autists acting out when their malformed sense of justice kicks in. They can't just leave determining if a game is good and deserves sales to a market.
catterpilar is the same as centipede
My friend Nintendo always wins.
Those are both caterpillars. Centipedes don't have any suction cup feet.
Is this revenge?
I mean just look at the OP
revenge is back on the menu, boys
pocket pair is positively fucked
putting things on there like a chinese dragon and a fucking clam just makes it look deranged
Nintendo stole the marriage and lineage mechanic for fire emblem from sega's phantasy star 3.
Good. It was severely wasted in Phantasy Star.
Pal battles are better
There are no pal battles they all auto attack with generic slapping and punching animations. Guns also trivilise it by being your best option after buffs are applied.
Base building is subjective
You weren't asked for an opinion, you were asking about an aspect that makes it better. That said for pokemon games with secret bases Palworld's pale in comparison especially when pitted against ORAS' with base sharing and the ability to turn it into a personal gym complete with other trainers.
Actual boss battles
Which again is trivilised by guns.
More utility for pals
Depends on the game, the pokepelago had more use when it came to resources than anything in Palworld, granted resources in later games were much easier to find in things like raids and what not.
Buffs also aren't anything special most games in general, not just pokemon, have both active buffs through moves/skills and passive with some form of ability even cyber sleuth has that.
You as the player being involved in gameplay
Auto battling removes agency from the player.
Better and more interactions with pals
Not really an aspect of the gameplay as much as it's a small detail that doesn't have much importance. Pokemon had Amie but no one used it beyond the minigames.
Same as base building but base raids are nice
Again, trivilised by guns. The only part of the game that isn't are endgame rigs and they're not fun for an entirely different reason.
(pokemon has nothing like this)
Pokemon has had a far more involved breeding system since gen 2 for better or for worse. Abilities and hidden abilities added greatly to that.
Also unlike pokemon passing down stats in Palworld is simpler since you can just max out a stat with fruits and pass down the altered stat. Who knows if that's supposed to be a glitch or not but I wouldn't put it past pocketpair.
Mind broken.
anon is talking about game mechanics
posts designs instead
none of the designs are even remotely similar
says opinion doesn't matter
then says half the things are irrelevant because he thinks "guns fix everything"
Actual 11 year old defending nintendo with his life
Evil knows no bounds it seems
>then says half the things are irrelevant because he thinks "guns fix everything"
Someone has a problem with America huh. What kind of shithole are you from?
NTA but I think one thing that puts Palworld ahead of Pokemon is that you are able to adjust things in the game according to your own liking. If you want more Pal-battles, you can adjust so your guns are less efffective or god forbid do no damage at all. In fact I would even dare say customization like that of game mechanics should be a thing in more survival-crafting games, usually it's only shit like "difficulty level adjusts how much more or less HP enemies have / how much more damage enemies give when they hit you."
Also even though Pokemon breeding might be more involved, I always felt like it was a huge fucking pain in the ass. Palworld simplified the process a lot more which I prefer.
so what you're saying is Nintendo doesn't have a case cause palworld is a completely different game far superior in every way than anything Nintendo ever made?
bringing up politics out of nowhere
Do not engage with palshills. Request for their playtimes and ignore them when they refuse. This is a troll farm hired by Pocket Pair to feign internet sympathy. Pocket Pair did not properly prepare to give this farm fake proof that these posters actively play the game. This is peak SEA hours and they do NOT game on PC.
You can say that but PocketPair are the ones that capitulated, not Nintendo.
Apple patent trolls claiming they invented phones with the shape of a black rectangle with round corners
Samsung is forced to make phones with slightly different shapes and colors in response
afterwards the chinks just make endless black rectangles and dominate the market forever now
If you want more Pal-battles, you can adjust so your guns are less efffective or god forbid do no damage at all.
That's the same logic people use to justify nuzlockes. Anyway that ultimately just makes the game tedious since it doesn't improve everything else to to the point where they're usable on their own.
Maybe don't have giant monopolies like Amazon?
I like how patent trolling went from
individual makes a frivolous patent they never intended to make in the first place just to sue people
To
this company is using this thing they thought of before anyone else and I don't like it
your work stolen by a larger company.
lol
lmao
Getting legally strong-armed doesn't mean pocketpair are in the wrong.
Yes it does. That's how it works. They are now legally wrong.
You don't get it censorship is GOOD now too
Not a bird, doesn't count.
actually get this one trending on all social media. this shit needs to be blown so far out of proportion that nintendo just stops
Hollow Knight has the most generic and bland artstyle imaginable tho.
And that's legally retarded, evidence for that can be found in this very thread.
Correct, however stealing a patented idea from two years ago does.
Greeks and Romans both had something similar to IP law
NTA but you are a lying Talmudist.
Too bad, that's not how it works.
I mean, if you want everyone to laugh at you then yeah.
Nearly every phone on the market is intentionally designed to look like an ipod touch. Apple actually literally invented this form factor for handheld devices and everyone else literally actually copied it from them.
It seems like a temporary measure before the lawsuit is actually resolved. Like telling someone they cannot travel overseas while they are on trial.
Says this while nintendo is abusing this shit
i cant believe nintendo invented the idea of being picked up by a large flying animal
legitimately how do nintentards defend this shit, what a dog shit company
but you are a lying Talmudist.
He's right
euipo.europa.eu
in the important city of Sybaris in Magna Graecia (today, southern Italy) – chefs enjoyed a 1-year monopoly of their original and elaborate culinary recipes. Staying in ancient Greece, in 330 BCE, one of Plato’s former students, Lycurgus of Athens, passed a law that required authentic copies of the works of Aeschylus, Euripides and Sophocles to be preserved in the city’s archives, the practical objective being to protect the dramatists’ creativity and prevent deviations
The Romans were also concerned with safeguarding the creations of one’s mind, one’s intellectual property if you like and in the 1st century BCE we can find two interesting examples. In both his correspondence and work, Cicero often referred to what today we would call ‘plagiarism’. Whilst when judging a literary contest, Vitruvius exposed some “false poets” who had copied from others. Because of their actions, these authors were tried, convicted, and ultimately disgraced.
Although no specific IP statute was issued during the Roman age, did you know that Roman jurists developed some concepts, including the distinction between a work (corpus mysticum) and its tangible support (corpus mechanicum) that are still relied upon today in copyright law? The Court of Justice of the European Union itself referred to this distinction in a recent case concerning … the making and selling of posters of artworks!
Take your Jewish lies and demoralisation elsewhere.
I watched VTubers play it they were clearly having fun. It seems that using the pals as base building units was a brilliant idea.
Then forbid large companies from being allowed patents. That way the little guy is allowed to prosper.
just the idea of patenting a gameplay mechanic is extremely retarded. It was horrible when WB did it for the nemesis system.
which sucks and sets a very bad precedent for the future of game dev.
abusing
second time in a decade
only against someone known for stealing ideas
I have yet to see a vtuber who has not dropped thousands of hours into either a mobile gacha or ark survival evolved. the opinions of the mentally ill are irrelevant.
People just hate Nintendo for being evil kikes bruh.
Nintendo files more copyright abuse yearly than they released games in their whole lifetime
just the idea of patenting a gameplay mechanic is extremely retarded
The problem is that you don't understand what a patent is, you're under the assumption that it works like copyright and that absolutely no one can ever use that idea but the reality is that anyone who wanted to could make their own version of that very same idea.
The nemesis system could have been remade years ago but the reality is that it was a worthless mechanic that added nothing to a game.
Therefore, Apple invented black rectangles.
no one actually cares about palcrap
it's just retards with a chip on their shoulder over nintendo screeching, as they do
yeah, I figured.
bruh.
Yep, that's what the Jews are telling you and you're falling for it.
It's just a big touchscreen. Cellphones were already rectangular.
European Union Intellectual Property Office
As I said, lying Talmudists.
you do realize that multimedia conglomorate aniplex and their subsidiary pocketpals is a larger company than nintendo the gamedevs who have to beg china for secondhand nvidia shields to refurbush into video game consoles, correct?
Always funny when they asked what their favorite OST was on twitter just for them to copyright strike every single link that was posted
>Although no specific IP statute was issued during the Roman age
Imagine being this much of a slimy bastard as to keep writing after making such a concession.
So you watched Kson and no one else.
There's a pretty big difference between thinking "I want to put being picked up by a large flying animal" and coding it into your game, and thinking "I want to put being picked up by a large flying animal" and stealing the code from another game.
correct me if I'm wrong, but if someone wants to use a patented concept, they have to pay the patent holder?
Yeah, taking one line out of context thinking it proves you right is totally making look like a normal person and not a jew.
Maybe read the whole thing.
hey everyone whats your favorite sportscar?
dude check out this 750s spider I stole
Then forbid them both from being allowed patents. They make too much money, they cannot be allowed any favors.
Pocket Pair isn't owned by Sony. If they were they wouldn't be getting sued.
But Nintendo stole ubisoft ideas
If they want to use the version they invented then yeah they could pay if they wanted to. Hell, some developers even just let them use it for free if they ask, Nintendo being one of those companies.
out of context
rumao
youtu.be
There are ride pals and glide pals i believe. Riding a glide pal would be weird.
Honorable mention to the kid who had his funeral crashed by a lawsuit from nintendo for having it be Mario styled
Funny how you guys keep swinging between "you can't own digital property" and "THEY STOLE DIGITAL THINGS FROM NINTENDO".
Doesn't theft require you to own something?
Even if Nintendo owned gliding it's clear that Palworld's implementation is different.
MASUDA SAVE MEEE
Just meme it the fuck up and make you assert your dominance over flight with a T-pose next to the glider Pal.
Honestly, the funniest thing about Nintendo's hard-on for fucking over Palworld is applying for patents AFTER Palworld released and using it to retroactively fuck over Palworld.
Thats some petty ass shit.
yea, and who wants to pay Nintendo for implementing camera control or jumping on enemies?
It monopolizes game development and shouldn't be allowed or supported.
Are loading screens patented yet?
and who wants to pay Nintendo
some developers even just let them use it for free if they ask, Nintendo being one of those companies.
I'm just saying that you dont need to post evidence of criminal activity in order to name an OST, and that every twittertard that willingly snitched due to their own retardation and ended up with their favorite youtube music channel blown up, fucking deserves it.
It monopolizes game development
What kind of abject retard thinks that you can monopolise sentient thought? As long as you're a human and can think n you can make something unique
some developers even just let them use it for free if they ask, Nintendo being one of those companies.
who are you quoting? where are you getting this from?
Well, that confirms that Palworld fans have selective reading.
I think Edison tried to pull that on Jews on New York so they fled to California where he couldn't sue them. Thus Hollywood was born.
What kind of abject retard thinks that you can monopolise sentient thought?
Nintendo, thats the thread topic
If they thought they could then they wouldn't need a patent.
Implying I read the entire thread
I don't take this site that seriously
Yeah because a single post you replied to us the whole thread.
You mean like Nintendo stealing designs from older IPs that they do not own?
But anon, they think they can, thats why they're patenting sentient thought.
Thomas Edison was a jerk. In the early 1900s, he and a group of other early technological pioneers of recorded film attempted to monopolize the movie industry, using furious litigation and the literal hiring of thugs to batter down any rogue filmmakers unaffiliated with his group. Edison claimed that "Jewish profiteers" had stolen his patent and gotten rich off it by promoting "smut" across America, referring to the comparatively racier films that non-Edison filmmakers would show in nickelodeons throughout poorer urban areas.
However, one group of filmmakers decided that they'd had enough of Edison's meddling, and simply moved as far away from him as possible -- to California. The judges there didn't care as much about Edison and his silly little patents as those back in New Jersey, and in the time that it would take for people to cross the country and read those independent filmmakers their rights, the patents would expire.
Edison tried to sue Carl Laemmle, founder of Universal Pictures, 289 times, and remained unsuccessful with this venture until his death (that 290th time, though, he REALLY might've had a case). Other individuals who fought Edison's group (both legally and literally) and then moved west included the founders of 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., Paramount, MGM, and Loews Theaters. So in a very direct way, the greed of the "Wizard of Menlo Park" led to the creation of Hollywood as we know it. And long story short, that's why we have 27 Minions films.
thats why they're patenting sentient thought.
By doing something that promotes it.
Do you see the issue here?
then why hasn't anyone asked nintendo for using the ball throwing mechanic is it just because it's too expensive or that they will be tedious when telling them what your allowed to use and not to use, like what even logic is this it's almost as like your giving money to a toll gate
You do realize that every video game ever made is built on things that came before it right?
Blizzard as an example has never done anything original, it's all remixes, the entire way down.
Nothing is original, thats the case for everything.
We stand on the shoulders of giants.
If you hadn't noticed there just something about Nintendo that compels people to do things the wrong way
Using their patents without permission
Holding tournaments without a licence
Attempting to profit off of their IPs
The ridiculous amount of piracy for games they rerelease regularly
What I don't get is why nobody didn't just kill Edison.
Nintendo copied the entire concept of Pokemon from Ultra Seven including throwing capsules with monsters inside them.
You do realize that every video game ever made is built on things that came before it right?
Which is wrong obviously or video games would have died out years ago. Creative media in general would have.
video games would have died out years ago
It has been dead for decades.
Yeah patents like looking at things on walls.
Which is wrong obviously
the burden of proof is on you.
Can't believe dozens of third person games are retroactively infringing on Nintendo..........
I think that legally you should basically be able to release a game that is barely more than a palette swap of pokemon and call it polchemon. Just make the better game duh
It's okay when nintendo does it.
thats Temtem
Nah, Palworld's code is too good to be Nintendos.
what the fuck are you even talking about
I could be bullshitting here but I'm almost certain someone patented interactive loading screens in the style of this one
youtube.com
software patents are the most retarded thing to ever exist it's like patenting 2 + 2
I don't see any bugs on the top picture.
software is made of words that compile into math
you cant patent math
boomers are retarded for granting this
"Shut the fuck up autistic retard" *grants patents for doing X but in a video game*
stealing gamefreak code
Literally no sane person would try to steal Pokémon’s spaghetti code
If Doom had been made by Nintendo there would be no such thing as an FPS genre.
Nintendo already patented numbers in gameplay and game development you retard
Pocketpair isn't exactly sane, nor do they know how to code which is why they can only steal.
I hate nintendo so fucking much
im glad i never bought a single product from them
will always emulate and pirate their dogshit
Just like there's no such thing as Metroidvanias right?
I hate Nintendo so much that I'm going to consumer all of their products!
i dont consume any, the only thing i played from shitendo in all my years is the original Super Mario, Mario 64, Zelda, OOT, MM, BotW and ToTK
and havent given them a single cent for it
so they can fucking munch on my nutsack
That's still consuming their products dumbass
honestly it's more embarrassing when gamefreak has been around for many years and have the most resources at their disposal yet they still make half assed games that look like some child who just learnt how to use unity 3d engine
Consuming means giving them money
This so retarded i'm going to patent breathing so this retards will die.
Anon, they are mostly being sued precisely because of their ties with Sony because Ninty and Sony are long-time enemies and by supporting Palword Sony may be playing the long game of devaluing the Pokemon trademark.
Unlike trademarks, you don't have to actively defend patents if you don't want to. Every patent owner is fully in their rights to ignore someone violating the patent if they like them/don't wanna fuck with them.
i'll sit here and do nothing but you should all go do that
Nintendo's face when
No, no it doesn't. That's being a consumER. Consuming is just using it.
It has nothing to do with Sony by the way it's literally because they're known thieves in the industry
FromSoftware never joined Sony.
Palworld and Sony formed a company togather.
game mechanics cannot be the subject of patents unlless they are novel.
final fantasy x sphere grid
that is not novel. what is novel is shit like "tapping a card to show that its activated".
eggazaki
it must have been ruled
from what i understand the original trial over the balls isn't even finished yet. do nintendos jeet shills really this retard?
people already are laughing at nintendo, thats why they hired a legion of jeets to crowd warm their awful dogshit takes on pokemon. do you really think anyone in the mon scene actually hates palworld? you'd have to be a moron to think that.
do you really think anyone in the mon scene actually hates palworld
Yeah. As a Digimon fan we hate how palworldfags use digimon in their stupid proxy war against pokemon. It's like they can't stand that other monster games exist
the only real digimon games that exist are the megaman battlenetwork games anyway.
no, this is consooming
do you really think anyone in the mon scene actually hates palworld?
That's the thing, no one hated palworld we just thought it was a shit game and nothing worth talking about but every fucking day it was
PALWORLD BETTER THAN POKEMON
PALWORLD BETTER THAN SMT
PALWORLD BETTER THAN DIGIMON
WE SOLD MORE THAN ALL OF THEM
it's fucking annoying. If you want to talk about your shovelware title then talk about it in your own spaces don't invade other people's just we don't care.
I don't really think they use digimon as a proxy war i think they argue that it's not fair the nintendo gets to use other people's mechanics yet would sue anyone they don't like but if im being frank with you they should just stick to Sueing mobile scam games
we? who's this we?
Pokemon had fly HM in 1996. Actually retarded statements coming from your mount.
Really insane behavior from a company that has no competition and it demonstrates that whether Nintendo will sue you depends on their mood or how quickly they can finish suing somebody else. These are spiritually chinese face saving lawsuits and behavior from their online trolls. Never forget that they're nearly the same people and even use the same language system and display the same blind tribalism when you dare to besmirch the face of the chine-uhm I mean japanese* people. Definitely not the same. Behind their government mandated courtesy are a thin skinned extremely prideful people.
fly HM in 1996
comparable to a mount
walk me through your thought process, I'm making a case study out of this
If I went to Japan and patented having birds in videos games, could I sue Nintendo into removing birds from every game they have
You mount the pokemon, and you fly on it to another town.
How the fuck do people manage to concentrate on anything with all these stupid flashing lights all over the place? It looks like a fucking torture room designed for sleep deprivation.
its all flashiness for show/social media
just to show how much he consoooms
i doubt anyone actually sits and does anything in such a place with all the lights, screens and other shit turned on
but in the 1996 game you select fly, then your destination and then you are there.
how is that comparable to your character visually and mechanically mounting a creature to improve your characters mobility?
i think he's talking about people who spam Anon Babble with games that are popular at the moment and try to bait into interacting with their threads with antagonized quotes too bad Anon Babble doesn't know how to ignore those type of threads
oh, advertisers
you select fly, then your destination and then you are there
Nuh uh, there's an animation.
are these the people calling people poorfags cause there's no way i would want my room to look like some rgb hell with almost everything oozing the words waste of money
How can they steal code from Gamefreak when they haven't even attempted to make a game like Palworld? Are you retarded?
because they're known thieves in the industry
The way Ninty is handling this makes it obvious they don't fucking care about the theft.
doesn't go for accusations for design plagiarism
or any old patented Pokemon mechanics
instead retroactively grandfathers a bunch of new patents AFTER PALWORLD RELEASED
complete scattershot approach with the most asinine accusations
goal is blatantly just pushing them out of the Japanese market to safeguard Pokemon's influnece
They don't give a fuck about any crime pocketpair actually committed, this is purely a strategy to get rid of a brand/trademark risk and only reason they'd believe Palworld is worth that effort instead of viewing the game as a flash in the pan is if they think Sony's backing gives Palworld the potential to expand into a competing media franchise.
(here's the animation from yellow so you don't have to go look for it)
As a Digimon fan
Least obvious tendie cultist spotted.
Pretty sure most Pokemon fans wanted Nintendo to use Palworld's example in order to pressure Game Freak into making better games. Instead they pulled this shit.
How the fuck is Palworld devaluing the Pokemon brand?
woah, i think Nintendo can sue Blizzard
Palworld fans use Digimon
They don't.
Because if they did, they would be Digimon fans.
Palworld fans just want to copy pokemon and be done with it. They don't want anything new or original like Digimon or SMT.
We got edgier pokemon 25 years ago and haters wanted nothing to do with it because it didn't resemble pokemon enough.
I don't think they are that concerned about Palword in partricular. What i think is really spooking them is the possibility of Palwords success motivating more developers to make products that compete with Pokemon. They won't be able to stop Palword with bullshit lawsuits, but signaling that competitors will have to deal with such bullshit will discourage potential competitors from even trying to get into the market.
>or any old patented Pokemon mechanics
The patents that they're going after them with existed two years before the release of Palworld.
lmao how the fuck do you change third person ads into something unique?
It's literally what they patented here
There are already competitors. The only reason those competitors are allowed to exist is because they make themselves distinct and aren't blatant rip offs of pokemon. I don't know about you guys, but I don't want a market where there's a million low quality pokemon clones/Rom hacks out there.
Nah I'm big on Digimon.
I have a few more models about, including another imperialdramon and I've been playing the games world 1 and I have my vpets but all but my Xes are in storage right more.
You just don't like the fact that other fanbase look down on palworld and it's fans so you have to cope by viewing us all as tendies.
lmao how the fuck do you change third person ads into something unique?
Innovation
Nintendo invented birds
Pals can too easily be mistaken for Pokemon, so when ignorant parents see [pic related], their perception of the brand is poisoned.
Pokemon has become a Japanese cultural icon.
It's also for children.
Nintendo invented physics. Now pay them fucking PAY THEM WHAT THEY'RE WORTH.
Nice war greymon. The one problem I have with Digimon is there aren't enough fuckable Digimon and fuckable human tamers.
tendies are so retarded lmfao
tendie thinks SMT copied Pokemon
hardened fig collecting autist ascribes serious malicious intent to an entire fanbase based on some random faggots in some thread he saw
then deliberately turns a blind eye to actual malicious patent trolling in an attempt to maintain a monopoly
Yeah that sounds about right
I don't know about you guys
underrated post
yeah cuz pokemon was pretty okay 25 years ago
have you seen the pokemon za trailer? shit's fucked
no hand or timestamp
These are the people who call you poor for not buying $80 nintendo games yeah
is this whole thing nintendo pissed off about the design rip offs, but since its difficult to tackle that through suits they chose these by-proxy patents did go after them instead
just break the patent and have your local court throw the claim into the trash.
fuck patentjews. they're not innovating shit. they would patent human rights and make us pay for them if they could.
That literally doesn't look like Pokemon. Also, Digimon was already a more extreme example of edgy cute monsters.
They managed to make lumiose city, the best and most beautiful city in the entire series, look like absolute garbage.
Nightrein bros...are we cooked?
That's not a mount, you transform into a bird.
They're pissed off about a monster catching game actually getting organically popular, and then getting a partnership with Sony
They are genuinely and unironically trying to kill a potential competitor with frivolous litigation rather than actually just competing
japan courts are gonna side with nintendo
literally unwinnable
That's the thing that haters don't want to admit. It's that Digimon are CLEARLY different than pokemon while Pals are wildly similar to Pokemon. Pocket pair can easily make their characters look different how demons in smt look different, Digimon look different, yo-kai look different, toriyama trash look different, but THEY DON'T WANT TO.
Because they relied so hard on resembling pokemon I'm order to get a following in the first place.
Y'know
I think they'd just have an easier time if they simply moved to china, and stopped selling the game in Japan.
Pals can too easily be mistaken for Pokemon
And? you're acting as if someone also didn't also use a chibi cutesy artstyle they also wouldn't also be confused for pokemon also how do you genuinely think they care about the children they literally see children as big money bags they're almost like the mr krabs of games, but EA takes that spot definitely
Japan courts ARE Nintendo
don't you understand? they're going so hard on this PATENT because of how COPYRIGHT was infringed!
of course that should be allowed and expected, crushing competitors on technicalities is le good actually!
No, that's fucking unhinged. You don't (and shouldn't) honestly think that.
Because Nintendo went for the easy and assured win. If they went after bandai, level 5, atlus, toy companies, or square enix then it would have been an up the wall battle because they don't resemble pokemon at all.
They don't "care" about children.
They care about their brand and its perception, so it's important that it remain child-friendly.
When Pals are blatantly aping the style of Pokemon while barely skirting copyright, it presents a brand hazard.
. The one problem I have with Digimon is there aren't enough fuckable Digimon and fuckable human tamers.
That depends on your definition of fuckable.
Easy enough, even have a spot picked out for Emperor Greymon when he drops
ok. so dont sell your games in japan, and we dont listen to their bullshit in our countries either. they can have their market.
Of course they're going to side with Nintendo, that's why Pocketpair is going all in on the court of public opinion sending pajeets everywhere to shill for them.
They are cute monsters with anime eyes. Any parent would get confused.
Thank you for finally conceding that nintendo is using dirty tricks to try and get rid of competition instead of actually stating their aggravation directly. Even if you had to do it in a roundabout way
There is clearly a gap in copyright law if such unabashed mimicry cannot be restrained.
The average "Pal" is indistinguishable from Pokemon.
Hopefully new laws come of this.
Game mechanics aside, they really need to work on their art style and make it look more distinct.
Imagine if Fromsoft patented lock on + omnidirectional rolling kek
Get rid of competition
Copying is not completion.
Excepting the case isn't about copyright.
And that's the real beef you have, isn't it?
waahh it looks too much like pokemon, they're not allowed to do that
Meanwhile even Nintendo doesn't agree with you because they're very deliberately not attacking that aspect
Sure got Nintendo spooked like it is. No other Pokemon copy got this level of attack levied against it by the multibillion corporation
Nintendo would win
Palworld
competition
Delusional.
They allow plenty of actual competition that doesn't shamelessly copy their artstyle.
This is entirely to protect their brand image.
Those are two distinct artstyles tho.
no hand
Confirmed brown.
Those pokemon copies don't even resemble pokemon enough to warrant action. You need to stop looking through the lens of a hater.
they're protecting their brand image by employing a patent lawsuit completely unrelated to brand image
And, again, you think this should be allowed in court? Very clearly dishonest intentions
Nintendo is doing this precisely *because* it looks too similar.
Copyright laws are inadequate, so they're pursuing other recourse.
Sure got Nintendo spooked like it is.
Not really, part of the reason why this happened is because Palworld fans wouldn't shut up after everyone started laughing at it for unoriginal designs.
Nintendo would and usually does play dumb as much as possible but there's only so much they can do if they're getting messages from Palworld fans daring them to sue. It just so happened that they actually managed to find something they had to act on or it would affect their patents and now you people are panicking.
I'm looking through an anti-megacorp-being-allowed-to-patent-troll lens and nothing else
Big company levying unrelated lawsuit against small company to achieve unstated goals is scumbag tier, even if it is daddytendo doing it
It's not suddenly right just because it's your favourite company, you know
don't you understand, the poor victimized megacorp isn't allowed to do it properly so they have to do it sneakily!
No, I don't buy that for a second. No reasonable person does
Japs really need to change their retarded patent laws, this shit is so fucking gay
There is clearly a gap in copyright law if such unabashed mimicry cannot be restrained
No, the reason this happened is because Palworld started making money and got picked up by Sony
They're blatantly trying to cull competition and you're defending that shamelessness
And also note that the existing competition aside from palworld doesnt resemble pokemon in the slightest.
If you want competition then you should support those. But we know you won't.
your using a screenshot of a palworld creature that wasn't even added into the game you could've at least used cremis as a example and if they really cared about they're brand they would've file for a copyright lawsuit instead of being a pussy and using a cheap patent lawsuit with basic concepts no matter what stance you have also you have to be new type of dumb if you think that people mostly out of japan are all children playing it its mostly teenager or adults playing it now they're either using pokemon to either scalp for cards or just consuming what new half assed game they throw out next
Palworld is a survival game with guns and base building, they ain't even competing with Nintendo.
Slice of life and rom com anime are a fucking mistake.
You know Palworld is completely fucked when they're the ones REEEing at how the lawsuit is going while Nintendo is staying silent about it.
Uh-huh.
And how is this the onky side by side on Google? I would have just made my own if I were at home.
Distinct *styles*
this but any black hair protag with blue eyes
Then you have conceded in the discussion.
No, the reason this happened is because Palworld started making money and got picked up by Sony
They were already looking into it before Sony was involved anon because Palworld fans wouldn't shut up. They have nothing to do with this.
So they are doing something evil and stupid because they cannot copyright googly eyes?
Nintendo wants to sweep it under the rug so people can't see how they get rid of their competition
Yes, that's to be expected from a megacorp
they actually managed to find something they had to act on
India is not sending their best.
No, not really. You've simply made a false claim that's completely unbelievable. I don't have to concede anything out of that because you haven't made a point
it's not about the money for a billion dollar company
it would never be that, never ever
it's just because they got so much hatemail from those darn palfags, this is all a moral issue
Honestly read your own posts good god man
It's just two unethical companies duking it out.
This is what i find most funny, japs plagiarize characters non stop, yet somehow they get all touchy about broad concepts
Japan has a shit ton of patents like these in the industry.
Its not often talked about but it near impossible for new companies to make games unless they have established connections in the industry in japan.
Abusing this is considered shameful thou and its why its not often abused.
But Japanese companies horde these and only use them as ammo to spite people in the industry they dont like.
Like how recently Capcom Sued Tekomon for the patent on using controller vibration to alert players to the presence of an off-screen enemy and a patent on certain methods for “unlocking bonus content when the DVD-ROM of the latest title of a game series is set in a game console, by placing the DVD-ROM of the previous title of the game series into the console.”
Main reason Nintendo is suing Pallworld is specifically because the CEO of the PocketPair company shit talked Nintendo publicly.
As evidenced by the fact Nintendo did almost nothing when he kept his mouth shut.
Many Digimon and Pokemon designs are similar. Neither franchise had a perfectly coherent artstyle either.
i guess we got to get rid of chickens now guys how are people like you this dense it's a fucking chicken
And palworld fans still won't shut up. Palworld fans will always be fake fans because the only reason they like palworld is because they hate pokemon, because palworld resembles pokemon and what they think pokemon should be., and that they believe people don't have a right to own their ideas.
it's not about the money for a billion dollar company
If they cared about money don't you think they would have gone after a heavy hitter like souls when they still had the Z-targeting patent? That's a significantly larger game that made way more money but nothing.
Many Digimon and Pokemon designs are similar. Neither franchise had a perfectly coherent artstyle either.
No they arent
The lawsuit happened immediately before Sony announced the PS5 port and their aim was to block the sale of the game on the rival console. Pulling shit like this would be illegal in most countries.
massive Pokéfag from infancy
used to associate the brand with good memories
a string of uninspired games since BW2 and Nintendo absolute legal kikery radicalized me
now I actively hate the brand
Fuck these slant eyed jews
pokejeet shills mad
post proof right now, shitskin jeet
bet you won't
I'd love it if there were a gun toting nun pokemon, but alas, there are t any so I have to go to Digimon for that.
muh two sides
Haven't you lied enough for one day Bucky?
AIEEEEEEE STOP IT
I hope you're aware that Gen 5 is a blatant gen 1 rip off.
Souls doesn't even aim for the same space as the Pokemon brand, that's just being stupid on purpose anon. Large lines of Palworld merch (which became a possibility after Sony acquired them) would.
Furthermore, your assertation is ridiculous on a foundational level. A megacorp is not made by not caring about money. A company doesn't generate billions of dollars in sales by not caring about money.
Its not often talked about but it near impossible for new companies to make games unless they have established connections in the industry in japan.
That's because that's a lie that relies on a complete misunderstanding of how patents work.
Most people understand that patent don't prevent the same concept from being used but rather the same implementation and function so it doesn't act as a form of prevention.
That's why more games are coming out of Japan now than anywhere else.
Nintendo is the Disney of video games.
They predate on children so they will always have money. The get by on selling to the stupidest people on earth and their parents too.
By the way if you buy Nintendo products for your child you have no morals or virtues whatsoever and you will lower your tone when speaking to me.
Both sides are bad
Always has been.
Pokemon blatantly stole mega and biomerge evolutions from digimon.
who?
and it was good anyway, except for some pokemon designs, I guess
wasn't added to the game
Because of the lawsuit.
That they modeled it at all is damning.
But I've already explained that copyright law is inadequate.
This is all a measure to protect their brand.
Pokemon is a cultural ambassador of Japan like Hello Kitty, so the "actual" audience is irrelevant.
It is established as a child-friendly IP, and they aren't going to jeopardize that.
The lawsuit happened immediately before Sony announced the PS5 port and their aim was to block the sale of the game on the rival console
If that were the intent they would have done that from the beginning not when the port was released anon.
Pretty sure most Palworld fans also like Pokemon.
More games are coming out because they're not copying off of each other.
There's no such thing as a Mega digimon in Japan dubfag.
they could just, idk, make it so you sit on top of the pal instead of hang underneath it?
For me it was Ruby being boring ass dogshit. Shit didn't even have day and night cycles, you know, that thing a gbc game managed to do?
only reason they like palworld is because they hate pokemon
why do people like always use this excuse you never gave your reasons for people who actually enjoy the game and also if all the lawsuits wouldn't have happened I'm pretty sure not many of these threads would even exist and people would still criticize regardless of palworld existing in this thread
So why don't they sue the merch company?
And one's a massive company which has made nothing but shamefully bug-riddled games lately, while the other one produced something half decent (not even great, just decent) before the bigger company went after them to maintain their monopoly
I used to love Pokemon. I still like it and wish it would get better games, but it fucking won't at this rate because they're just trying to stifle competition instead of actually compete. We'll continue to get schlock like the last few entries
NINTENDO SUE AKIRA TORIYAMA!
Pokemon is a cultural ambassador of Japan like Hello Kitty
Those people made fucking Aggretsuko.
Toriyama art style is fucking ugly
pajeet shill doesn't even know the timeline of events
The lawsuit was announced BEFORE the Sony port was revealed.
Not gonna lie, former Trump voter here. This is fucking hilarious watching Trump crash and burn. But in all seriousness we can't let this guy get the nuclear codes!
You sound like this, PalJeet.
Tell that to /dbs/ with a straight face, I dare you.
what does artstyle have to do with this?
this is about game mechanic patents
lol I want them to go after mihomo and literally every chink game devs ever next over gliding mechanics. Fucking cucks. Lets see how they fare against other giants instead of trying to stomp on the little guys.
Souls doesn't even aim for the same space as the Pokemon brand, that's just being stupid on purpose anon.
Yes, yes you are being very stupid on purpose because I'm obviously referring to Zelda. The action adventure game with Z-targeting that Miyazaki himself claims to have taken inspiration from that compete in the same space.
Large lines of Palworld merch (which became a possibility after Sony acquired them) would.
Okay, so why were Yokai Watch and Digimon allowed to exist? Palworld's merch lines, if they produce anything, won't be anywhere near those. So by your logic they should have taken them down.
Level 5 is also about as big as pocket pair in the grand scheme of things too.
A megacorp is not made by not caring about money
They also aren't made with frivolous lawsuits as much as you think they are. Not that we're even talking about a mega corporation.
I dunno, maybe they could have. I'd presume there's no reason for them to snip leaves off the weed creeping up in their garden when it would be much more efficient for them to pull it out by the roots though. Why try and kill each individual merch company pocketpair tries to partner up with when they can just block pocketpair entirely?
You fucking liar, Palworld is a broken Early Access scam
Reading comprehension, ramjed.
The ports was known about for months by that point. If they wanted to stop it they would have opened a lawsuit long before the
So, i take it there are, or will be, mods that bring back original sphere summons and now gliding?
So why did Nintendo copied it then?
How?
It fixed all the launch bugs and glitches and releases a huge content update every three months or so?
Because they are patterning with Sony for the merch.
ramjed
Did you misspelled ramjet?
The port was rumored but it was only actually announced at a specific event. Nintendo sued just before that event.
Okay, so why were Yokai Watch and Digimon allowed to exist?
Because they're not worth the negative press. Digimon's already ingrained, and I don't know anything about its sales but I'd be staggered if modern Digimon games pulled in a million or two in sales. Yokai Watch achieved barely anything in sales or cultural relevance before it petered out.
Meanwhile, by your own admission, palfags were heard loud and clear by Nintendo. And sales-wise, Palworld reported hitting 15 million units in a comparatively tiny span of time.
Palworld is separate from your other examples simply by scale. They reached the point where Nintendo had to intervene to get rid of them, and nothing else
Not that we're even talking about a mega corporation.
We are talking about Nintendo though. Don't delude yourself and don't try to delude others.
If I were palworld dev
I would just sell the company to microsoft already
or at least go under their wing and have them as your publisher
nintendo only do these harassment because they know literal small indie company cant afford to fight back even if they know they would win
If Sony's actually handling the merch directly, that does answer your own question then
Why would they try and get rid of that wide fan of creeping leaves when they can just pull up the much more vulnerable - and again, more efficient - root of just killing the game in its entirety and preventing Pocketpair or Sony from having a foundation to build on?
The pathfinding is broken and it's a glitchy mess
That's because good pathfinding is np-hard. It's not as easy throwing a bunch of vectors out and seeing what hits.
Yo-kai and Digimon were allowed to exist because they don't resemble pokemon.
Nope, all of it has been fixed.
palfags were heard loud and clear by Nintendo
Anon, just because they're loud doesn't mean there's a lot of them or that they're particularly relevant culturally, it's just means that they're loud and like to incessantly shitpost.
And sales-wise,
You've already discarded this angle when abandoned the souls argument.
We are talking about Nintendo though
They aren't a mega corporation by any stretch of the imagination. A mega corporation isn't defined by popularity or profit it's defined by how large it is, Disney and Sony can be considered mega corps because they have a presence in several different markets appealing to everyone in some form or fashion, Nintendo on the other hand are just gaming at the minute
Keep lying Bucky
they won't ever mention that they rather ignore that but won't ever mentions how a big company like gamefreak released a game in a complete buggy state despite them being the backed up by one of the biggest companies in the world
Okay, Bucky.
Main reason Nintendo is suing Pallworld is specifically because the CEO of the PocketPair company shit talked Nintendo publicly.
Literally this, palniggers are some of the most disingenuous people on the planet, you don't get to cry about patent trolling after the CEO of your precious copycat game acted like a complete smug retard.
This is revenge, unironically :)
They left most other capturemon games alone because they didn't outright stole most of their designs, make very minor changes and claim it as their own as well. Digimon is still humans in funny cosplay focus, YW is yokai's, and so forth. It didn't help that Pocket had copied botw so Nintendo had even less reason to let it go since it will only encourage them to continue their bullshit. Nintendo got a bad rap from this but Pocket isn't going to be copying anything from Nintendo for a while.
Software patents are so Jewish
Probably true, as someone else pointed out previously. They're going for the dodgy method of destroying what they perceive as a threat to their brand because they know they don't have a real leg to stand on with regards to copyright.
It's also probably true that they were allowed to exist simply because they're small and not considered as a possible dent in Nintendo's bottom line.
just because they're loud doesn't mean
You can't have it both ways anon. Either Nintendo heard palfags clamouring, or they didn't. No doublethink please.
You've already discarded this angle when
Sorry but you can't tell me what I did and didn't discard, that's not how arguments work. You're talking about Zelda. I'm talking about Palworld v. Pokemon.
Palworld made a lot of sales and a lot of money, and looked like it was going to make more and threaten one of their major revenue streams. They saw a threat and they acted to get rid of it before it could grow.
They aren't a mega corporation by any stretch of the imagination.
They really are, though. They're a billion dollar corporation who have oodles of money to throw at problems. Not interested in playing technicalities with you about what a megacorporation ackshully constitutes when you're busy defending a corporation abusing technicalities to attack a developer with a lawsuit unrelated to their actual goals.
Okay, Bucky.
Does Anon Babble ever tired of name-calling people its got to be some type of new autism when they lose an argument and they immediately start calling people random names like a schizo

Either Nintendo heard palfags clamouring, or they didn't.
Can you please stop with the strawmen? It's not helping you in the slightest. And no one said that they didn't hear them, you're arguing that their efforts are what makes palworld culturally relevant but the reality is that it's just a loud minority.
Sorry but you can't tell me what I did and didn't discard, that's not how arguments work
That's exactly how arguments work, if you fail to address a point then you've discarded it.
I'm talking about Palworld v. Pokemon.
Which isn't the topic, the topic is why Nintendo went after palworld with you arguing that it was money, relevance and competition while I'm arguing that it was the loud palworld fans blowing up Nintendo's social media daring them to sue.
That's also why souls and Zelda were brought up as a parallel with a patented mechanic that could have been used to take out a competitor but wasn't.
They really are, though.
No, like I said it's not defined by money but how large it is.
when you're busy defending a corporation abusing technicalities
You are aware that you're the only one here defending a "corporation" correct? You're not here crying up a storm out of the goodness of your heart, you're here to muddy the waters of the discussion so people don't realise pocket pair is in the wrong and that this isn't the first instance of them taking mechanics from other games. For me, it doesn't matter who sued them just that it happened.

You're trying to simultaneously say Nintendo heard palfags making a mass amount of noise, but at the same time Palworld isn't culturally relevant enough to be worth destroying. Sorry but that simply doesn't fly. For a good while, I had people in my backwater workplace talking about playing Palworld and how they hoped Nintendo could give us more hanging out stuff with Pokemon like what it does. A lot of people were talking about it.
I'll stop with the """strawmen""" when you stop with the desperate corporate fellating, how's that sound?
if you fail to address a point then you've discarded it.
No. You can't tell someone else what their points are or aren't.
I don't have enough facts to speculate on the matter of Dark Souls v. Zelda, but if you really want me to I'll just say again what I've already said; Pokemon is Nintendo's bread and butter, and even Zelda is small in comparison. Someone using something akin to z-targeting to make a game that doesn't share market space with one of their games (literally nobody will skip buying the next Zelda just because they bought the latest soulslike) is not the same as someone using something akin to hanging off a god damn bird leg while gliding through the air for a game that - by your own admission, as you say it intrudes on Nintendo's brand image - does directly compete with Pokemon.
You are aware that you're the only one here defending a "corporation" correct?
This is simply untrue. You are playing fast and loose looking for excuses (they're just doing this because they can't do it through copyright!) and alternate possibilities (but other games weren't hit like this! - which funny enough is actually part of the massive hypocrisy to it) to justify Nintendo using dodgy, unrelated legal proceedings to achieve the goal of destroying competition.
it doesn't matter who sued them just that it happened.
And this, too, is funny - because you told me to "stop looking through the lens of a hater". Interesting.
This many replies to a shitpost
Really starting to think they really did steal assets
because you told me to "stop looking through the lens of a hater". Interesting.
It's a good thing I saw this first now I can confirm that you're recalling things that never happened.
waaahh abusing a corrupt system is fine if they insult me!
You pokeniggers are pathetic
Oh, dear. Looks like you've failed to address all my points so you've discarded them.
I suppose I can really only accept your concession, then. Thank you, and goodnight.
