I think you're the only person in this thread who understand why they're getting so upset. Ancestor worship and the belief that the communal good/sacrifice should be put above all other values is kind of spit on with this game that superficially extols the idea that every expedition was a glorious sacrifice of the citizens' remaining years only to get dashed as you get into the story and realize it's actually about a singular group of people who are playing around with immortality and godlike powers. I'm not surprised they're getting stunlocked considering Black Myth Wukong entire presentation was a modern retelling of like a century old story. They created a graphically impressive and competent action adventure solo game for once instead of gacha bullshit but they couldn't believe the global market was only tepid on it.

OP is mostly complaining about the writing in the game, which I agree on entirely.
Nothing you do in the game matters in the grand perspective, and on a smaller scale, characters barely even acknowledge the current events or the consequences of them outside of a snarky or "witty" one liner.

Coincidentally, ~6 is also a score I'd give, not because I think the game is a average, but it's dragged down but the story and it's presentation.
Combat itself is stellar, exploration, as simple as it is, gets saved by the lack of quest markers or dungeon maps that would make the rather simple dungeoning completely shallow.
And the music clearly isn't just a filler but rather serves to enhance the experience, so unlike a lot of AAA titles, with OSTs you could probably find on some royalty free sites.
