What was his problem?
What was his problem?
In so many words, curiosity
game?
Gaze Outward
Vision Beyond
undertale: boo haunted house edition
Bi-curiosity, to be exact
microsoft outlook
Looking at non-manmade horrors no man should ever gaze upon 2: Apocalyptic Boogaloo
Blind inside
Look Outside. That's the actual name.
Was he the autistic NEET version of Azathoth?
Touch grass.
Peer Beyond
He and pic rel were LGBTQ+
Reminder that truth and denial are the same ending.
that's a dildo
Yes but from different POVs
He and pic rel were LGBTQ+
Gay. You can say gay.
I'm pretty sure the only one you can argue is a tranny is Rafta.
It's hard to be more NEET than Azathoth.
Nigga spends his entire existence asleep and dreaming, because he's essentially the eldritch server running Universe.exe.
At least The Visitor gets out and goes sightseeing
so what's the GAME THEORY to this anyways? That Sam still destroys Mankind and then the World, but he's like trying to repress all the horrors he's causing or something, because that seems a bit lame.
Is Shady even a gendered?
Denial doesn't refer to the choice, it's Sam denies reality with the sliver of his remaining mind.
so how messed up is the biosphere?
That's an interesting theory, although contradicting the entire rest of the game's message.
truth grows by absorbing
denial grows without sustenance somehow
I mean I guess The Visitor had to get that big all by himself. I like that there's enough there to make either being real or being a human mind coping believable.
His mind is shattered and he can't even remember the concept of language in the truth ending
I'm with , that kind of goes against the whole theme of the game. There's a whole running theme of "If you dig too deep for answers, everything goes wrong" from looking outside right at the start of the game, all the way to the Rooftop Finale. Making both outcomes the same kind of ruins that.
The one in denial is (You).
True and I lean towards it too, I just hope Sam remembered to grab all that water once he glomped Earth.
Unemployed single father versus god
it's like Angelus and Caim showing up in the real world in Drakengard only to get instantly killed by bombs
Can create infinite mass out of nothing, manipulate space & time, turn plants and inanimate objects into semi-sapient monsters, make paintings come to life, give people psychic powers and open literal portals to Hell just by its mere gaze
Umm... I don't think I can help you with the predicament I totally caused. I'm sure you'll figure things out tho. Nice known' ya, kthnxbye.
What the FUCK was his problem?
Sam's compassion and self-rationalisation are the important parts of his character. In the succesfull paths he could justify to himself doing horrible things and still being an okay person. The visitor formed it's own self-awareness after mirroring Sam's mind and could align itself as potentially benevolent entity. Just think what would have happened if instead of Sam it would have interfaced with a person imprinting it with the idea of "You are an evil world destroying monster and you are here to destroy us."
Sam taught it you could do horrible things without really meaning to through his own mind and politely asked it to leave.
Your species can create an entire world within a pocket-sized chunk of metal and plastic. And yet a young member of your species could very well put a spider into a glass jar as a pet only to see it die with no air holes because that literal god beyond the spider's abilities and comprehension didn't really know it requires oxygen to live.
As another example, I can sometimes gently "manhandle" my cat, ever so slightly shaking her, pulling on her paws, grabbing her by the scruff in a manner that at most slightly annoys her, but this same application of force could crush a small insect with ease.
Or, let's imagine another scenario. You found a small forest animal and fed it. That animal brought its pack to you. You gave them some snacks as well. They seem to like you. Soon, however, entire roaming packs of this anima's species are infesting your city, rifling in your trashbags, harassing children, exterminating your birds, and your local government just exterminates them all. Do you think the animals understood why they got slaughtered? No. But you might want to reconsider fucking with the natural order if the repercussions imply extermination. The animal won't get any of that though.
The visitor is similarly far beyond your capabilities and comprehension, but it doesn't get which things it can and cannot do to you, it's the first time it's ever seen something like you. It realized that something completely casual and inocuous for itself is something that potentially condemns you to suffering beyond your ability to comprehend. It's panicking. It doesn't know exactly what it's doing wrong or how to do it right. It doesn't even know what this "it" that it's doing really is. So it fucks off in order to collect itself and figure out what it should do about you. Should it come back and feed you and make you dependent on it? Should it never interfere with your existence at all? Should it kill the things it brought into your world? What if that makes it worse? Etc
he was in love
i have played two jrpg style games this year. the other one is being explosively praised just about everywhere. weirdly, this one had better writing.
the boons of graphic fidelity and a reaction mechanic in a turn based game
honestly, they've both got good stuff about them but I agree, this is one of the best rpg maker horrors out there easily. combat may be pretty standard but the slice of life mechanics, jokes and good cosmic horror more than make up for it, just wish the last part of the game wasn't so dungeon-y.
for me it just goes to show how important it is to pull off an ending. few games nail their endings as hard as look outside did, clair obscur definitely didn't.
Is this the horror slop of the week?
there's also what, 8 different endings? and they're all solid enough to feel satisfying if they end up being your first instead of the usual recolors
It is, but it also kinda feels like Lisa the Painful. Not as bad as other horror slop which rely on nothing but jump scares and ripping of FNAF for the Nth time.
It's a cult classic in the making
Star Periphery
It's been out for like 1.5 month.
Rat
Nah it's not even popular enough to be fotm
it was an actual fotm, before it got blown out by the Anon Babble collapse and then clair obscur. flavor of last april.
Every single human character (bar the blue janitor) is a shitskin of some shade or another
Shan't be playing.
it's the grey pixels making them look darker combined with all the shading being darker cause they're inside and usually out of the light, Sophie and the tooth family do actually look black though
Who's your favorite party members for me it's Morton,Sophie and Hellen. Fuck Monty and Xaria they're actually fucking leeches and deserve to die or become weird fucked up creatures.
Hellen, Santiago (forme de rato), and Papineau. wish I got to Pappy with no party members so I could join his noble fight against entropy earlier
Visionary Outdoorsman
Leave them faggot if something as small as that irks you, that means you shouldn't play the game
