Undyne might seem unlikable from a first playthrough but in genocide she's an actual hero willing to put it all on the line to save everyone, Papyrus might seem stupid and arrogant but his belief in your redemption is sincere and shows a truly kind soul.
Sans laziness is shown to be a partially depressive coping mechanism and his friendly nature is revealed to be calculated and reveals him as one of the most intelligent characters. Flowey is what seems like a completely unrelatable character until the game accurately predicts what would happen when a bored player decides to "UNDERTALE BUT ___(WHAT IF I GRINDED)" and reveals the true tragic nature of him by turning you into him unprompted.
You miss all of this without experiencing this, so many other details are in geno that skipping it is unironically not experiencing the game

First of all, it adds a lot to Flowey's characterization.
The same happens with other characters like MTT, Alphys and Undyne, but to a lesser degree. You also get some pretty neat worldbuilding by interacting with the shopkeepers.
And then there's Sans. You don't need me to elaborate on that.
All of this you can understand from Pacifist walkthrough. Genocide just states it outright for low IQ people, the same way it pre-solves all the puzzles.

Try sparing and befriending everyone on your first run in a clear save file and see what happens.

You start Chapter 1 over, but Berdly's death from Snowgrave is carried over.
This means he's not available to be Noelle's class partner so she's able to be your partner instead.
Maybe Susie comes bursting in and Noelle of course insists she joins the group with you? Basically you either end up going to the closet and discovering the Dark World with Noelle, or with Noelle and Susie. In any case having Noelle with you in Chapter 1 enables further Weird Route shenanigans.
Get your saves ready, then do a quick replay when it releases just looking for any new content.

The ACT menu also has the text "don't confuse it with Magic" or something like that.

The genocide and pacifist routes need each other. They exist to give consequences and dimension to each other. Undertale would be a lesser game without one. But I think people ultimately like the game for its characters and writing, not for the bullet gameplay, hence why people see the genocide route as boring. Undetale is ultimately more of an experience than something more "toylike", like Counterstrike where you can basically play with that forever.
