Nowadays games are either:

Nowadays games are either:

hecking wholesome indie pixel art kawai game made by 2 guys

200 gbs soulless AAA game made my company with thousands of employees

Where did medium-sized games go? They were more common in the 7th era

sex with the girl on the left

expedition 33
have you heard of expedition 33
anyway expedition 33

small games today are what medium-sized games were 20 years ago

Played it for 6 hours and I could not get past how boring and bland the art style and level designs were
Unreal Engine is unironically killing games

Cool story bro.

Except without the quality or creativity

Goku would kill Makima easily

I've just played an indie game where your protagonist is sent on a suicide mission with a detailed health system, so i drowned in a puddle after losing consciousness because coagulants i took made blood too viscous after bloodloss caused by internal bleeding i've got from landmine shrapnel. He was whimpering, throwing up blood and begging to end his suffering all the way through.
No, i don't think all of them are kawai wholesome.

complains about no AA games

"here's an AA game released less than a month ago"

"n-no, not like that"

They still exist. Whether you care for them or not is another thing.

Didn't read because you posted anime

you're wearing nostalgia googles or larping as a boomer.

holy BASED

Because it's not good
Art style looks like any Unreal Engine game
Level design is hallways with little to no exploration
Cutscenes are way too fucking long
And the combat is way too easy and simplified

Name one single indie game that's actually creative and isn't yet another direct copy of a popular indie game
Or better yet, if it's a copy, it should be different enough to make it stand out

peripateia

It's in early access, so I haven't played it myself. If you're being honest, I'll take your words for it

Sounds like a you problem and OP is still btfo

True. My problem is having good standards. But you do you

Chivalry 2
Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2
Earth Defense Force
Disco Elysium

you do you

The game is a commercial success

Adam Sandler movies are also commercial success, and so are capeslop movies. So that must mean they're good

Name one single old middle-sized game that's actually creative and isn't yet another direct copy of a popular game
Or better yet, if it's a copy, it should be different enough to make it stand out
I dare you faggot.

Prototype

Just saying 99% of people are content with their AA games and it's a you problem, not the other way around

Cool bait
Ghostrunner
Dusk
Blood West
Trepang 2
Sifu
Clash: Artifacts of Chaos
Project Wingman
Brigador
Darkwood
Darkest Dungeon
Etc etc etc

If 99% of people are content with 2+2=5 that means they're retarded, not correct

Against the Storm

Equivalating people's opionon on something subjective vs a fact

Yep you're retarded, go outside and get hit by a bus.

big if true

Someone's mad

everyone is wrong except me

This is why you'll die alone and a virgin

AA was a gamble for publishers, so now only fuckhuge publishers that haven't been priced out of AAA push out giant games

Yup, everyone is wrong except for me

Enjoy virginity

oh my, if it ain't your classic tpp action slop. How is it any different from asscreed, just cause or other shit? It adds unique mechanics on top of the generic gameplay?? Whew, just like my modern indie slop games!

bait

I see you're just a disingenuous attention starved retard. Carry on, you got me to reply.

low quality bait & trolling thread

Mods, nuke this nigger to death from orbit.

touch grass retard

Mech Engineer
They Are Billions
Hotline Miami
Crypt of the Necrodancer
Superhot
Shady Knight
Fight Knight
Also

muh creativity muh copies

Bitching about this amuses me because people ONLY target indies with this when gaming ALWAYS had copying and following trends. Most of your favourite games were "copies" or "clones" and not fully original. And it's not actually a bad thing, as that's how game genres actually became a thing. We used to call every shooter a Doom clone.

rage

Part 2 sucks

People don't buy AA. As much as they proclaim they will they don't. There might be outliers but the data shows they don't buy them to sustain them. The video game industry and the movie industry are similar in that they have this same problem. They use to be popular before but somehow got phased out as time went on. Will they be able to recover such an old business model? Doesn't seem like they found the right way to make it happen even though the bloated budgets and development time say they should.

What kind of genre do you like? I can hopefully try to recommend something you'd enjoy.
