I killed a heccin doggo now i have ptsd
I killed a heccin doggo now i have ptsd
kill over 150 humans
is given the chance to kill the only person she actually wanted dead the whole game
le revenge is le bad
yah that shit is moronic, and lost the entire point when your entire game is routinely murdering random people
just like muh gta shit oh i want to get out of crime, cuts to them mowing down 500 cops and robbing millions
kills another 150 on her way back
I want to ____ Ellie!
This game is literally Israeli propaganda muh both sides are bad bullshit.
Dogs are work animals. Treating them like wholesome fluff balls is middle class roastie shit
ftw you won't be cock slammed from her to satisfy her urges while held at knife point by her as a random scavenger goon
I am non-white, let me justify my non-whiteness by seething at whites
lmao
btich ass zillenials be gettin ptsd outta nowhere nowadays shit's crazy
No media literacy
I can't help but feel bad for those people who have a significantly below-average IQ. Life must be so hard when it isn't all spelled out in black and white.
No, you're just getting bellcurved. Retards think it's stupid because revenge good.
You think it's intelligent commentary on the cycle of revenge.
Intelligent people understand it's both a poor exploration on the futile self destructiveness of seeking revenge, and/or disagree with the very premise that seeking revenge is bad in the first place.
I think it's made by a Jew and he should be thrown in the gas chamber.
We are not the same.
he should be thrown in the gas chamber.
What an odd thing to say
sex with Ellie!
The people without media literacy are the ones who wrote a ludonarratively dissonant story.
Is it really realistic that a 19 year old woman would become a murderous psychopath?
hug
It's not realistic she'd physically be able to kill so many people, but lacking a conscience or any sense of morality is very normal for women.
I was going to make a satire post about media literacy, but your retard ass showed up and actually did it sincerely. Kek!
Most of them have abortions so absolutely yes but as that other anon said they don't have the guts to kill grown men.
she cute
My straight wife who experimented with girls for a little while!
You never thought you want something, got it, then realized it didn't fucking matter, cuz you hate yourself and you need to fix that instead?
no
Forgive Stacy. She doesn't even think about you.
I hope you don't hate yourself anymore
What's with Naughty Dog and scrawny girlbosses? It kind of started with Elena, but at least she was on your side and you played as Drake so whatever. Then from Nadine onwards it's all weird.
sexooo
Cool story, you should make a game about that instead of whatever the fuck tlou2 was.
It is a sign of a low IQ that you cannot communicate and convince people who are lost
I don't make games but I do like to write. And to me, that's exactly what TLOU2 was about. Ill explain if you care to hear it
Sure go ahead. I didn't particularly dislike it.
Filterslop
Ellie grows up in a military school. Classic place to be unvalidated and deactivated. Just doesn't know herself. Needs love at this time dearly. Finds it in another girl. Other girl dies, she lives. Survivors guilt.
Finds it in a guy. Gets tripped up by the first time survivors guilt, thinks being immune means she can save the world. Estranges herself from the one person who loves her. Loses him. Thinks revenge can make it better. But what it is gonna take to be better is getting over her savior complex. She hates herself because she hasn't saved the world.
She gets to what she thinks will fix everything and it doesn't do what it needs to. She remembers Joel. She just lets it go. We don't actually have direct text that explicitly tells us what happens in that last moment. Everyone feels differently about it. But that's how I see it. It just didn't do what it needed to. So she let go
well I agree. I don't like how Abby's not shook up how her actions led to everyone she likes getting killed but I guess that would be another game. though maybe her going full on with military upbringing toughened her up. then there's the "karmic" retribution in her getting fucked up by Cali slavers.
Yeah I definitely agree that its not super clear how Abby feels about what happened. She barely makes it off the island with Lev and I wonder in that moment if she just tries to play strong and silent. She doesn't really have an adult that we can see to confide in. Kinda sad. I don't know how much more Abby we'll see if we ever do. I've kinda made my peace with it. EXCITED for intergalactic though
she had her dad, who got killed by joel. she had owen, with whom she fell out of due to revenge lust. i think she'd be just as fucked up as ellie, if she wasn't already groomed for a soldier as a firefly and then kept with it at wlf.
Oh yeah that's right. I guess I meant at the end of the 3 days in seattle there's no one for her to have a scene with, where it would make a lot of sense for us to tell us how she felt about it all. Abby did get to grow up with her real dad and they were close. I wonder if that makes any difference in their stories. Abby always wanted to kill Joel but was a bit more methodical about it, or at least, the scenario asked her to be. Ellie was really reckless. Idk maybe I'm misremembering and they're not all that different
no, I think that's supposed to be the difference. remember how in 1, and even 2 joel is reluctant to give ellie a gun, let her on patrols. he's coddling her, as much as he can in the apocalypse, due to his own reasons obviously, but also jackson seems a paradise compared to seattle. whereas abby was raised as a fighter from get go. she had guard duty over her dad, so maybe the point is not only that she lost her dad, but also that she fucked up her station when joel went on the rampage. different kind of guilt from ellie's survivorship, done twice.
No, I think I'd want all of the blood that had been shed up until that point to have amounted to something. Especially so if I had just travelled Wyoming all the way to California with only a string of unlikely leads to guide me.
Totally fair and reveals the way that we all react to things differently. I think the essential question of fiction is whether you're willing to believe someone will make a different decision than you, even an irrational one
Yeah these are good points. I've replayed 1 much much less than 2. I think 2 i've cleared like 5 times just on the sheer bombastic roller coaster effect of it, 1 I replayed one time
how will hbo/bella handle murder hobo santa barbara ellie?
so far she's about five kills in so i feel they're playing against into what everyone bitched about, the dissonance, which is even worse. ellie's fucked up and they don't show that at all. even the first game made an attempt to show ellie's more eager to kill, with her switchblade enabling you to go faster through stealth. there's none of that anymore, even though they also showed it's supposed to be an important thing.
Its a dog abby played with you FUCKING MONSTER
she'll just sneak through all of santa barbara, with added filler that shows how the slavers abuse their merchandise. which will be even worse because, and that's my experience, by cali i just went all in and killrushed everyone. not that the character would care, but it's another kind of circumstances that in certain point of view would be "good".
muh media literacy
trannyspeak
Yeah they’ll just have her stealth it, and get the iconic kills by freeing clickers and having them kill the slavers. Maybe one proper kill.
There really isn’t a way to do it properly without making a borderline snuff film. Is there ANY mainstream movie or TV show where the protagonist brutally kills dozens of just regular people, who are having pretty normal conversations until Ellie kills them. And doesn’t just kill them, but shoots out their legs, then stabs them as they beg for mercy, after having caved in a dogs skull with a wrench.
In isolation you can get away with that stuff, but very rarely. But in-game those are the basic normal things, not the big event kills.
Yeah, how did Neil Druckmann couldn't see it
I could have worked if they put ANY effort into establishing that Ellie was growing tired of killing in general, but they didn't. So it just comes off as strange. Like you routinely kill literal dozens of people, what's one more? One who traumatized you so much you STILL have nightmares about it years later?
the year with Dina at the farmhouse is supposed to show that. that she's fine, but actually isn't. it's both about the kills and the joel. but then she breaks and goes and then breaks again, because she just isn't built for all that. she realises it's never bringing joel back and that she's a mad dog. even if she killed abby, she's two fingers short, cutting her away further from joel and "the wife", but that happened anyway. it's not revenge bad, it's i'm so fucked up.
See I never got that impression but I was also just watching my friend play it and calling him a massive fag the whole time so idfk
protect
and for good reason because there's a lot of fag shit in it. i also groaned at bigot sandwiches or transcultist, but in the end the motivations of main characters are more important. they tried too hard with bringing modern day issues into the story, to detriment of general audiences reception.
TLOU2’s enemy dialog really puts every other game to shame. Most games enemy dialog just becomes memes because they say the same things so often “Never should’ve come here!”, and especially stealth games it’s always so robotic and generic statements that can be used for any location or enemy make-up.
But TLOU2 every single human enemy has a name that others will call out, and every combat arena has location specific lines where they call out the exact building you ran into. And across hundreds of enemies it never seems to repeat. I’m sure it does, but it’s never frequent enough to actually remember, and I’m pretty sure names never repeat. There must be 1000s of recorded lines, and you won’t even hear 1/5th of them in a playthrough.
It feels like in 2 hours of murdering people you hear more variety in voice actors than an entire Bethesda game, and it’s equivalent of bandits, not even NPCs.
Yes because her pursuit of revenge cost her everything she holds dear and her own soul.
Piece of cake Dina, weve taken on hundreds of clicke-ACK!!!
You kicked my dog
Now my dog need operation.
Didn't like the game forcing me to kill Abby's infected friend in the hospital basement with Ellie just standing there autistically. Spec Ops the line moment.
it would have been riskier if it was ellie who was pregnant by jesse. everything else can stay, even the bubbly harlot dina. maybe not in-game but for the show that limits murder it'd be more dramatic.
Then those 150 people will have daughters that'll track her down in part 3.
this is probably a copypaste or a bait but TLOU2 is a masterpiece of presentation besides the typical screencaps (hideous sex scene facecap, Abby's troon fridge body)
Everything that's not the gameplay or story is fantastic, it's optimized really well on PS4, the gameplay itself is actually pretty satisfying and enjoyable if shallow, but the sections of gameplay are a significant minority in the game which is retarded and it's all for nothing because the story is even worse than popular opinion believes.
I killed naughty dog now i am happy
gameplay is great, I'd compare it to nolf in how much you can mix stealth and fight. mgs gets too easy in fight.
It's not “trannyspeak,” it's just basic media analysis. If you're gonna dump 30+ hours into a game, it's fair to talk about whether the narrative holds up or not. You don't have to agree with the "revenge bad" angle, but pretending like any attempt at deeper interpretation is some kind of woke psyop is just cope.
How? Isn’t Spec Ops a “haha oops you fell for the incredibly obvious setup and white-phosphorus’d a bunch of innocent civilians, you monster”. There’s no twist in TLOU, you spent like 2 hours walking across the city with the sole purpose of finding whatsherface and getting her to tell you where Abby is, by any means. There’s no bait and switch, finding someone to torture info out of is your sole objective for a few hours of game.
for me its Male Gaze Ellie
Yeah, it's dumb. Bad writing, bad story.
I don't think anyone would have a problem with the game if it was just your run of the mill MTX multiplayer/looter shooter. Attaching some grand narrative to it was a poor decision.
that would be all well and good if Ellie sneaked her way trough the entire game and maybe killed an occasional person or two on her path to revenge
but she straight up murdered hundreds of people who RIGHTFULLY thought she was just a fucking psycho trying to murder them
but murdering all those arguably innocent(not all of them obviously) people including people close to your target and then when you finally get to the person who hunter your (not)father like a dog you go "nah, killing isn't the way"
excellent bait
there has to be something to interpret though
TLOU2 feels like it was written by a fucking high school student's fanfic, there is 0 depth
you have Ellie mass murdering people like its nothing and then she completely out of nowhere decides that "revenge is le bad"
But Israeli propaganda is them good, the terrorists evil.
That's what I can't forgive
Ellie canonically dresses like this after Dina leaves her btw. Druckmann spoke about it in an interview somewhere.
Ellie canonically dresses like this after Dina leaves her btw
good
Ellie gives up being gay after Diane leaves her.
Now Ellie wants to make up for all the dick she lost out on.
if you don’t interpret the media the same way I do you’re a heckin nazi
it is tranny speak
really nigga?
