mobile shit
And nothing of value was lost
mobile shit
And nothing of value was lost
Missing Link
will remain as a missing link in the series
BRAVO NOMURA
this is good, put relevant shit into actual games not mobile slop
IV is getting axed next
Mobile gacha
GPS location based movement in order to fight stuff
BBS tiered combat except instead of commands its trophies which are part of the gacha
Very glad its dying to be honest, its was so obvious it'd be a trainwreck from the very start. I'm sick of them hiding story shit in phone trash too
KH4 is about to get versus 13ed. Can nomura handle another XV?
IV is going to be the last KH game unless it sells gangbusters at this point.
As long as they wrap up the story I wouldn't mind.
this has nothing to do with KH4, missing link has been in development for SIX years, it was a trainwreck project, it shouldve been put out of its misery long ago.
It's for the best
KH's mobile titles have been consistently fucking awful despite varying levels of story quality so whatever. Put this content in IV. Or do a 0.2 demo-thing again and run through the relevant plot points in the KH4 engine with a big cliffhanger for actual 4, then it still gets to be its own thing without bogging down the experience of playing through 4.
GPS based mobile game
How do I advance the game when I never leave the house?
Just let this series fucking die already my god
i dont understand why its so hard to just make a mobile game that plays like KH (with obviously simplified controls)
this pokemon go atrocity always looked like a giant waste of time and effort
Its hard to make a mobile game that's fun AND that has huge monetization system inside it.
may as well tbdesu
they peaked at KH2FM and will never make another KH2FM, and this has become abundantly clear
There was supposed to be some way you could still fake maneuver. Nomura himself said he hated that shit so they were going to add a lazy mode just for him
Games stopped being good after 1
You could play No GPS mode but then you're at the mercy of a stamina bar like normal gachatrash, whereas engaging with the GPS features made it all free.
Them trying to figure that out is what killed the game.
games like birth by sleep, dream drop distance were actually successful and cheap to make
why the fuck arent they just doing stuff like that? use kh3 engine to make smaller games
How do you add a gacha to those games? Rolling for dream eaters maybe?
Its sad that companies are so incredibly averse to making premium buy once games that they'd rather try and fail to make gachas instead of them.
KH3 was already horrible.
People stopped giving a shit after he introduced time travel shenanigans into the plot
this should be celebrated, it increases the chance of kh4 actually being decent.
nomura has completely when he decided to put relevant shit in the mobile games.
Total mobage death
Based 3D Investment Partners
Still gonna be required for the lore of KH4.
Moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty.
"it would be difficult for us to offer a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period of time"
lmao fuck that shit.
Didn't the recent KH mobile game die in like 1 or 2 years after it came out?
NOMUUUUUURAAAAAA
I'm more surprised it wasn't already canceled last year when they ditched a bunch of projects
Can a gacha game REALLY maximize profits if it isn't coomslop?
I don't think KH is suited for a gacha like that.
Live service is now too difficult and risky
Finally, we’re here. Took it long enough to reach this point.
I hope its story at least gets reworked into a console title
or at least a movie like x back cover included in KH4 or something
I wonder if this will mess with KH4's development due to whatever story tie-in it was supposed to have.
bunch of people who were only going to engage with this game via a youtube playlist are crying and vomiting as if they're not part of the problem with this format
They were trying to rework it into a console game.
There was some decent progress but in the end the game was simply "not fun".
Nothing about the cancellation indicates a move to making it a console game and failing. They cancelled it because continually supporting the game with updates wasn’t going to be feasible.
fuuuuuuck kh4 is fucked too isn't it? it's as long in development now as kh3 - 5-6 years
unless you mean dark road then no, unchained chi/union cross lasted around 5 years (and if you count the web browser based chi it lasted around 8 years)
dark road only lasted a year but it was part of the union cross app anyways
nope lol disney has big plans for kh
I would've actually played it but I don't blame anyone who wouldn't have
I'm not basing it on the cancelation news, im straight up telling you: They were trying to rework the game into a full fledged console game.
That's the only reason why the game wasn't canned last year.
Ofc you can choose to not believe me, thats fine.
KH4 is fine. Getting the FF7 Remake trilogy out has been priority for square, which is partly why KH4 is coming a bit later than expected. But it should be out before Part 3.
That makes sense then. I wonder if they'll at least rework the lore for the game into KH4 or something
Damn. Final fantasy really is killing this franchise
Like, adding the MSheU and nu-star wars....
It's over
no nomura comment is fucking insane
feels like nomura is banned from mentioning it like versus13...
>Anon Babble
KH4
Replaced the villain from KH1-3 with comic relief Marvel quipping mobile gacha character who appeared in 2 cutscenes in the actual games for 6 minutes and 36 seconds
Organization XIII is replaced with mobile gacha characters who have cardboard one dimensional personalities and appeared in 1 cutscene for 2 minutes and 55 seconds in the actual games
In order to understand backstory you need to play mobile gacha (WHICH IS OFFLINE NOW)
Another mobile gacha that was supposed to contain crucial backstory got cancelled
QTEs
Strong woman representation
Unreal Engine 5
Nomura is retiring and giving away the franchise to literally who
IT'S OVER
Stay mad
Okay then I’ll need a source because it sounds like them turning it into a console game is something you pulled out of your ass.
kh4 trailer narrator sigurd is from this game. we're going to get million flashbacks for union cross and this game's story in kh4
that's awkward, i'm sure nomura had written about a dozen tie-ins for KH4
Sounds horrible
Nomura’s been shackled by Square for ages
It’s been years since any KH4 news
Dark Road got cancelled early for the promise of Missing Link despite Nomura saying frequently he wants a fully fleshed out Xehanort prequel, only for that to be a 6-4 year project cancelled.
Both projects that were supposed to be set up for KH4 mind you
The KH4 team being moved over to help get FF16 out the door
Ever since Square went all in on FF7. He’s not allowed to do shit or say shit that isn’t related to FF7 trilogy or the super duper canon FF7 Gacha
game whose story was supposed to be forgotten is canceled before it's released
KINO
will safely make good money on a new switch 2 exclusive kh game
would rather gamble on a phone game
Square Enix deserves every bad thing coming their way.
They have greenlint production of a KH move but we know jackshit and its still in the planning phase where everyone just sits around throwing ideas out and reaching out to see who they can get for it.
Shits not even on the level of Gigantic right now.
lel they actually did it the absolute madmen
what took them this long though and regardless of it being a good decision in itself or not how have things at squeenix gotten so bad they can't even manage to put out mobileshit
KH4 2028
how do you lose 6 years on mobileshit
is this a symptom of SE's ruin, the industry as a whole, or both
I want the Kingdom Hearts team to make a game that isn't Kingdom Hearts
More like there's no girls to make sexy shit of outside of Aqua and Larxene. Kairi, Namine and Xion are like 15 so good luck there.
ReMind's superbosses turned out pretty good if you ask me.
SE's management is a mess. As soon as new CEO got his position he announced he was looking into a big restructure, that's pretty telling.
Because premium buy once games are stupidly expensive games to make and simply don't generate enough money
Even if you sell 30M copies at 80$ and become the best selling game of the year you still make less than 2.5B
And that's without platforms and distributors taking their 30% cut
That's not even close to what Fortnite makes every year
Or League of Legends
Or Honor of Kings
It's why that model is dying
It's why the yearly sports games, CoD, GTA have all abandoned the premium buy once model and are all in on the microtransactions
I'm gonna be 40 by the time kh5 comes out
Need to give Nomura something new to work on than forever being stuck in the sequel cave.
Did they get rid of their ethics department yet?
Square Enix plain and simple
Game went into development around the time development/funding for the previous mobile game got cancelled. Nomura actually had to fight to be allowed to finish the story he wanted to tell there
Then Square went into their NFT is the future craze, then a bunch of high profile flops like Babylon’s Fall and Forespoken back to back essentially ripped a wound in Square thats been bleeding since
Gacha’s getting cancelled left and right early with the NieR one losing English Dub on its final season
Then Square having the bright idea of putting all their remaining eggs into the Final Fantasy basket which hasn’t been doing the returns they want despite the yearly releases
XIV’s Covid boost being a fluke and Dawntrail being the worst received expansion in the games history causing less players sticking around
No one is to blame but Square itself snd none of this is even going into that KH4 and DQ12 both got announced and not a thing heard or seen since
And Square deserves every bit of bad “luck” they’ve had
You must be 18 to use this site.
shovelware series
only 1 & 2 are good
the NieR one losing English Dub on its final season
the funny thing is they were planning to launch this at one point with no dub too (although the message that would have been shown in game indicated one would be added later)
this
Kairi, Namine and Xion are like 15 so good luck there.
JK not viable for gacha
imfuckingplying
If anything, it's because it's still a Disney game.
No idea, but I hope so.
I JUST KILLED SQUARE ENIX. WITH MY FREAKING GAME HA HA!
How the fuck are we gonna fully understand the story now that this CRITICAL tie-in mobile game is dead?
don't worry, it being canceled is actually critical to the plot
You just understand the story on Proud instead and hope the DLC adds the critical information
canon, the era the game was meant to cover is entirely forgotten in current day
Holy shit.
Kingdom Hearts
understand the story
Wasn't that due to Forspoken and the Marvels shit flopping, not XVI?
Worst thing about this is knowing they let First Soldier get out the door over this desu
Can anyone explain what exactly the power of waking is and why Sora fucked up using it
It was because the new CEO cancelled a bunch of half-made games
And that one flopped too, lol
Its the ability to wake sleeping hearts and Sora fucked up by abusing it too much
all those years of waiting for nothing
I'll be honest though I'm glad in the end. Locking important lore behind mobile games was dumb. Put that on consoles.
It's kinda like the Dive to the Heart, but to wake people up. You can also use it to travel to worlds by connecting with their heart, or something like that, which I believe is how Sora got to the Realm of Darkness in 3. And it seems you can do it backwards as well, travelling to people's hearts through worlds. And since sleep is a similar state to death, you can use it to revive people who are nearly dead. Or... something like that. Power of Waking I feel was the most nebulous 'important' plot point in the series.
Go woke go broke!
I never actually fought them, I should go that at some point
The power to connect to dormant hearts across distance and reawaken them.
Sora fucked up by using it to not only connect across distance but also to instances throughout time, thus circumventing the KH Time Travel Rules and getting booted from realty because of it.
First by recusing his dead friends hears from The Lich and secondly by using her friends as jumping off points to draw the fragmented pieces of Kairi connected to them together.
I slightly smiled.
desu the game coming out at a reasonable timeframe, not being broken, and not being complete shit, seems like a pretty impressive achievement in the realm of square enix, even if it wasn't what was going to revitalize FF
Sora achieved chim and abused his power to save his girlfriend by going back in time and rewriting the timeline as he wishes. Resulting in the universe sending him the way of the dwemer
It literally does whatever the writer wants it to.
this probably means kh4 isn't happening
Or they're going to put missing link stuff into 4. May as well right?
Because premium buy once games are stupidly expensive games to make
They don't have to be, though
Nobody is forcing these companies to invest everything they have into one do-or-die project
doubtful, the assets they were using for missing link were nowhere near the quality of the assets they're using in iv even if both were in UE5
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHA
Sure they weren't UE4? It was built off of KH3 (initially, at least).
Early in KHIII's development, the premise was described as Sora searching for the "Key to Return Hearts."
That's what the power of waking is. It's the ability to "return" a heart, or restore it to a previous state.
The intended use is to, for example, wake a sleeping heart. But it can be used in other ways, like... returning several hearts from the brink of death at the same time. Which is a feat so tremendous it requires time itself to be wound back to even be possible.
And that's why Sora got atomized
Don't worry bro, it'll get reworked into a side story for Re:Union X.
Trust me, my dad is Tetsuya Nomura's hair stylist.
I really hope this doesn't further delay 4, it's obvious they wanted Missing Link's story to tie into it and release 4 after it was done, I hope they find a way to tell whatever story was supposed to exist in some other way before 4 comes out without having to alter development any more to fit it into the game.
KH Mobile Collection when
yeah, no idea about the original technical test or ios only beta but the beta that was on android was using UE 5.3
I thought it was a fangame when I saw trending on twitter.com
Why the fuck does KH4 need two games to set it up? Why is Nomura a hack? This is the kind of shit that has doomed Square Enix cause KH4 should have been the game for those new to the series to jump onboard. Instead Nomura is trying to push them away.
HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS
Nomura really needs himself a tard wrangler to keep him in line. If Nomura had his way KH3 would have had like 5 spinoffs for all the characters to reunite instead of some ham fisted end segment like 3 did. He just can't stop himself from going on and on and on and making everything needlessly complicated.
Missing Link could of been inline with the PS2 era art style of the games but not the modern stuff.
As for KH4 the trailer we go was a proof of concept done on UE4 but the actual game is being done on UE5.
This would be the best course of action. Disney is dead and Final Fantasy is one foot in the grave as far as people caring about either of them goes. It's so bizarre to think KH ever came to be as such.
If Nomura had his way KH3 would have had like 5 spinoffs for all the characters to reunite
That would've actually made KH3 a better game since the best parts for me in 3 were just Sora messing around in the Disney worlds with no real goal. I skipped every cutscene the moment it switched to Riku, Kairi, or the Org13 it's just an info dump of shit I already know. Total waste of time and boring.
thinking it's all nomura's fault and not square/disney trying to milk kh for all it's worth
I have no idea how Nomura got jumpstarted the way he did. He went from a debugger to character designer and game director. Is it just infamous Japanese seniority system? Stay around long enough and you'll run the place.
KH ended with 2 anyways.
KH-COM-2 is the ideal trilogy and everything afterwards is fanfiction.
2 rapedt the story so fucking bad it fried an entire generation of kids brains into looping back around and thinking it's good
He just kind of did other people's jobs as well as his own until they let him take over officially.
Like, when he was a tester, he drew a bunch of art for the monsters already in game. The artists saw and said "wow, thats pretty good, we should use that."
This continued in the same way until he got where he is now.
There's a lot of resentment toward him from the other management people though, which leads to his teams getting poached of talent a lot and his budgets getting slashed a lot.
Nomura was the one who pushed FF7 remake to be 3 games. Everything screams that he is yet to learn his lesson.
He wanted it to follow the story of the original though.
I thought he wanted 2 but then all the time jannie bs pushed it to 3
Its because Sakaguchi saw potential in him after Nomura made his intention to give FF Iconic designs on the level of the DQ Slime alongside side just being easy to work with and willing to take on whatever extra work was asked of him. So at a decent pace he was brought the ranks.
However before departing Sakaguchi gave bad advice to make the KH plot more complex and Final Fantasy like (The Guch for all his talents basically poisoned the well for those still at square by fully supporting auteur game dev instead of appealing to the people).
Really that's Nomura's greatest strength and his greatest weakness, he never says no and is whiling to go along with whatever bullshit or offer a helping hand when needed, even to people outside of Square which has made him generally liked inside of the industry.
The mans a workhorse and KH is his reward for being good sport about everything thrown at him.
We are hard at work on Kingdom Hearts IV
Now we know that's a fucking lie.
sex with Kairi
sex with Stretlitza
sex with Namine
sex with Xion
sex with Ollette
sex with Aqua
sex with Larxene and Elrena
sex with Skuld
sex with Aerith, Selphie, and Yuffie (KH1)
sex with Ava
sex with Yuna, Rikku, and Paine (KH2 fairy form)
sex with an angelic amber
sex with a bouncywild (pink Final Mix)
sex.
I hope KH4 cover is more like this art and less like his weird babyface phase
FF7 will truly save us all
Their biggest mistake was letting the series grow stale. They had an entire generation in a vice grip. Literally grew up with the games. They waited too long. The rose colored glasses came off for most everybody as they grew out of the series. They all came back for KH3 for the nostalgia, only for realize they outgrew the games and the games are shit. They threw so hard.
They've probably gone back and forth a lot, but what we know from interviews is that Nomura planned a trilogy, but Kitase considered doing it in 2 parts for a while before settling on a trilogy after all.
Well at the end of the day I blame the new guy director for all the nudev slow walk horse shit padding. None of the KH games have that garbage.
I want Nomura to make a manga
KH4 is going to be episodic like FFVII Remake. Just you wait and see.
KH4: Part 1
KH4: Part 2
KH4: Part 3
Search your heart, you know it's true.
Nah
You guys have said that about every thing Square Enix has made since 7 Remake and it's never happened once.
would be so stupid it's possible
Investors, and stockholders do
They all force companies to invest 500M to make 5B
If the game makes 1B, which by the way means selling 12.5 million copies at the new standard of 80$, it's a flop and the studio gets shut down
Because these idiots fundamentally don't understand how video game economics work
This
wrap up the story
anon the big plan is to use the mobile games as a jumping off point to set up the NEXT story. and that's not even considering whether or not Nomura is over his Versus XIII boner
I wouldn't care because it's not a fucking remake.
There is no need to make it episodic. The series already has abysmal pacing.
KH1, CoM, KH2
gameplay and story good
now this series is only worth playing for its gameplay which makes no sense on a mobile device, just release 4 then 5 then 6. make the bosses cool like Remind
Can nu Square go one month without taking a massive L?
this is a W
they do be taking Ls though
fuck disney
make kh like smash and add sonic
or nights if you're into all that pantsy-shmantsy dream shit
wonder why he changed his artstyle so much
i much prefer his early to mid 2000s style
make it a movie like back cover. we still get the info and avoid the annoying gacha junk.
the only remnant of this game will be the cutscenes ripped from the beta tests posted to youtube as movies
player's story will never properly continue
brain's story will never properly continue
if ephemer shows up in quadratum we won't know what the fuck is going on
partially agree besides the sonic fur faggotry
i'd rather see shit like NieR or Bleach in KH
Disney needs to stay but they are too anal about their IPs and most of their shit is woke slop
an artist's style will change over time, but its more drastic if they have a lot of periods where they don't get to draw or study regularly. Nomura's got ten other things to do and half of that is probably making sure that SE doesn't completely burn down before his autism is finally sated
The only way I'll get over this is full console game telling this story and including player character customization.
An Unwritten Era
A blank era severed from history
these taglines from the trailers turned out a whole lot more literal, it's almost like it was always meant to be
fated
Does it matter? The series became 100% dogshit as of KH3 with KH4 already shaping up to be horseshit.
Here's hoping KH4 flops so the series can finally be put out of it's misery.
nothing brings me more joy than seeing Capcom thrive while Square Enix writhes in pain
come on, start another KH mobile game. how about two at the same time? this time it will work for sure.
It matters to me in that the mobile game plot was the only thing left in this franchise that I still cared about after 3 fumbled so hard.
oh no, now he has to include the lore of a game in the actual game
trannycom
No
Before Crisis is considered a real part of FF7's expanded universe...
not surprising but god damn is it hilarious
clyde is so powerful
truly the strongest protagonist FF has ever had when he is able to effortlessly kill the series
Kingdom hearts games that aren't tailored towards action are always shit because one of the main hooks of KH is the gameplay. Nobody played melody of memory, the people who put money into UX/DR are part of the reason why we are here and this series is 23 years old. We are still having the same issues we struggled with between the release of 2 and 3 over a decade ago. This shit will never end man. We don't get releases in a good time frame, any time we get news it's a delay of something or some 90 second trailer that ends with no release date. I've been playing this series since 2002 and I'm about ready to kill myself, Disney, square and nomura
>sex with Yuna, Rikku, and Paine (KH2 fairy form)
Sora getting a three way full body handjob from them
branch out my friend. i've also been playing since a few months after KH1's release. i enjoy so many genres and franchises now that i can atleast laugh about KH's eternal nightmare.
also, it could be worse. it being a singleplayer series means i can always just play KH1 and 2 whenever i want to and no one can ruin them.
still hope 4 will be fun, if it happens.
BbS, DDD, that DS game were developped at a time where games didn't take 5 years to make which is probably part of their reason their attempts at "expended universes" keep ending up in disaster
a side game can still be made in 1-2 years if handled by non retards.
