ok let's see how optimistic you're once you run into some weird edge case math problem you have to solve that you couldn't give two fucks about.

we don't need to do a thing, the garbage collector will take care of it.

so Stardew Valley?

That's a very common language for games. XNA games on 360 all written in c#. Many older PC games too. What's the point of this thread?

That's a very common language for games.

no

but what abou-

nobody cares about your 2D indie slop

Personally, I'm sticking to Python.

Fuck you! Lua #1

C++ is easier for software development and faster.

All Unity games are in c#

Good luck

That's not true at all you retard

unity is written in C++ you retard.

Unity uses C# as its language, retard

I'm aware that Unity is written in C++, but Unity games are written in C#. The entire game logic script other than graphics shaders is running on mono. Most Unity games i've seen have mono redistribution in the game folder because it's needed to run the game logic.

C++ and C# are the same thing
that's why you can make a # by smooshing together the ++

slop

Let's see you make something better than faggot since you think everything is "slop" you uncreative fuck. No? I thought so. Now fuck off back to your containment board

C# if for the gameplay logic you nigger, all the heavy lifting is done in C++, so no shit you can make a game in C#, you could make it in freaking cobol.with that reasoning. Op obviously mean C# from the ground up.

concession accepted.

C# is only used for scripting in Unity. Everything else is C++.

Fuck off Cris

so true jestie

Wtf anon, the compiler just blew up my pc?!

There are thousands of game engines entirely in javascript. C# isn't the fastest but it's far from impossible to make a decent performing game with it.

So logic in a program is worthless to you, got it. Your projects must be great and functional.

can't read

has no understanding of the subject he argues about

for fuck sake go ask your mommy for a hug or something

the issue isn't speed but consistent performances. Good luck having that when the gc cockblocks you whenever it pleases.

I'm going to make my game in C++ and there's nothing you can do to stop me

yourself will stop you, we don't need to do shit

wrong

Call the suicide prevention hotline. There's no reason to go out like this, anon.

Why not use a special snowflake Python-like scripting language instead?

I'm going to make my game in Assembly and there's nothing you can do to stop me

it's not that bad desu, just verbose

Love2D chads where you at?

For what purpose did they create a language that is slower and shittier?

not brainfuck

NGMI

blud thinks he's chris sawyer :skull:

i'm going to make my game using c++, vulkan, sdl, dearimgui, tinyecs, and there's nothing you can do about it

Slay queen

Okay. I kinda like C#. It's not a bad language.
But you're probably not making your game "in C#." You're probably just making your game in Unity and writing some rudimetary C# scripts.

Yeah,

Every game using monogame is in C# and as others have mentioned that includes successful games like Stardew Valley.

Yeah but you're not using MonoGame you're using Unity

this but flecs instead

Okay.
There is no bad languages for game dev, it all depends of what you want to do / can do with it.

(Don’t try to be clever with me, obviously I’m not talking about cobol here)

I'm going to make my game in HolyC and there's nothing you can do to stop me

I've tried it, but it's a pain to keep track of the animations, unless you build a system first for this and many other things like collision and physics system. And that is before you make the game proper. But then there's already game engines. At first, I was afraid of the resource overhead of using game engines, but when I tried it, I realized devices are already powerful enough that any resource overhead is ignorable.
