It's not a question of the technology getting obsoleted. Flash storage will stop retaining data once the charges from the flash cells dissipate. This may take as much as 5-10 years but it happens. I only (unwillingly) tested it on SD cards but had several ones that lost data (I used them for periodic OS backups, they are all unreadable now ten years later).
So yeah, that drive will be unreadable ten years later.
