They didn't make everything overly detailed with hundred of thousands tris. A lot of statues for example have bad facial details upon closer inspection but under normal circumstances you won't notice this directly. They also seem to have rather low lod distance but the mission layouts conceal it.

heal punish AI nerf. Before the nerf to enemies you had to bait an attack and then heal while certain enemies were in recovery frames, after the nerf you have time to heal and then then dodge right in front of the enemies face when they are in a neutral stance

I could care less about Steam reviews but I do know a lot of people were just bad at the game. Bosses do have a lot of health but the player still has a lot of openings to punish. I do hope you were combo'ing them after using counterattack against red attacks for example. I think a lot of people probably didn't understand stagger outside of those counterattacks either. Charged potent blows would temporarily let you combo most human enemies if you continued to attack right after for example.

Yes, i did combo bosses with the little openings they gave, especially when staggered to exploit the window before doing a backstab. Problem was, that I was barely doing any damage. Am I supposed to believe that I was underleveled from playing normally to a degree that my attacks wouldn´t do stamina/health damage?

It‘s not even that. The issue is that the game is “hard“ in the worst way possible. Bosses have 10 different attacks that are all delayed with different timings and they swing so fast that you can‘t react to them. If you accidentally guard instead of perfect guarding they apply plague/fire/lightning and you‘re just dead over time. You have to memorize the whole pattern for every boss and it‘s too tedious. Elden ring was already bad when it came to this and this shitpile took it to a whole different level

The game is built around a lot of aggression so the damage you do will add up as long as keep exploiting openings. I actually do agree that the bosses had more health than normal compared to other similar games but I wouldn't say it was too much. The game just expected you to really get good at each boss in order to beat it. The RPG aspects actually were important so you should've been using the Khazan memory points to boost damage and also forge damage boosting stuff on all your gear. Same thing with keeping your weapon level up-to-date. Other than that, you and many other people may have not been using good combos during openings and just not using the weapons to their fullest in general. For example, I used dual wield and would often do howling blade combo with normal attacks in between during openings. This is a decent combo but then I eventually learned that it's better to loop the howling blade finisher with aggressive action and deftness and thus started to do much better damage during openings.
But I did use those moves and they did fuckall of damage!
And regarding your second comment, if the game does not cater to the vast majority of players by at least having properly balanced bosses, then they have no right to whine about not meeting sales targets.
Fuck man, I did not even know what those Khazan memory points where till late in the game. They could have chosen any other name but the "memories" part made me think it was some sort of option to revisit previous battles.
Shame it didn't meet expectations. It is a good game. I put it on the same level as Nioh 2. Basically it is not as good as Souls/Sekiro/Lies of P but it is still well worth your time if you like the genre (especially Nioh 2). I actually really liked the art style too and it ran really well.

They made a game for different skill levels, it's just that some people were too prideful to switch to easy. I guess they could've renamed "easy" to "normal" and "normal" to "hard". I don't think difficulty actually affects sales that much though. Genuine normalfags don't know if a game is easy or hard because they don't follow gaming news to begin with, they just buy a game if there's buzz around it and "hear it's good". Well, the problem with that is how you "make openings". I kept attacking but it did fuckall to their stamina and (almost) nothing to their health so I do not see where you get the chance to "make" an opening?
You have to look at more than just Steam and look at console reception as well.
I hate using "soulslike" as a genre but there's been numerous successful action RPGs of this nature. The Nioh series for example and even Wo Long did alright.
If you use dual wield level up wind piercer it hits a fuck ton of times and will let you stagger bosses pretty easily, deftness does solid stamina damage, Phantom Sword Dance and whirlwind shred through basically everything. There’s plenty of strong options.
Reflection can be used for mostly any attack but the timing is hard to get down. What you really want to do is charged potent blows which will temporarily put them in a short combo'able state. For example, with dual wield, starting combos off with the sprinting potent blow was often a good idea. This could chain into deftness which could then chain into aggressive action and then whirlwind/howling blade or whatever. Not everything could be staggered like this of course but it works for most human enemies and bosses.
Great game. I'd definitely recommend it if you actually like hard games
