wild how this hidden jem filtered so many folks

games mid I dropped it

I dropped the game once I had to collect audio logs about dyke romance

You just can't appreciate real art. If it were some gacha slop you'd play it all day lol.

great game, try abiotic factor if you like this

i didn't want to use the jizz gun, just lemme shoot sum niggaz wit real gatz. pop pop

Solid game, just wish half the enemies weren't just colored variants of the same nigga with like one new gimmick.

I just discovered this room in the maintenance area in the arboretum. You get a few spare parts, an upgrade kit and a shotgun plan.

This game was way too scary for me. Just like Soma. Looked really interesting but I couldn't stand the suspense. I have to problem with the Dead-space games (even while high as fuck) but Soma and Prey is somehow uncomfortably scary to play for me. Probably because being forced to hide without having weapons to defend oneself is not something I want to experience in my free time.

The game is soulless.

Midwit's idea of a smart person's game

Just turn down the difficulty if it's too tense for you. You'll eventually become really OP even on nightmare though.

abiotic factor

Overwhelmingly Positive (22,700)

how are there so many popular and loved games that never get mentioned

Is that the spot behind the looking glass by the main elevator?

I'm waiting for the 1.0 release with friends. As much as I want to ask how in the world Abiotic Factor is similar to Prey, I also want to remain as blind as possible, as that alone can enstill a lot of magic in your experience with a game.

you can
the shotgun is op as fuck

coop survival slop

Nolan movie tier game

Yeah.

maybe stop living in a Anon Babble bubble for once

I love the square beam of the flashlight and I don't even know why

One of the most detailed games of all time made by an incredibly passionate team and with music compossed by Mick Gordon is somehow "soulless"

Anytime some retard says that they never elaborate.

Great game but suffers a lot of stiff enemy coding to the point you can easily abuse the system turning it into a wacky sandbox instead of a tense survival horror game.

take acrobatics 2

game functionally ruined

What's crazier is how the dlc is peak execution of a unique concept that arkane build their next full game around only for that to be mediocre

Just good solid game. Nowadays it has to be something meme filled of jornos hyped, people forgot about just good games.

Currently replaying it—it's overrated.
There's far less room for creative player expression and emergent gameplay than we're first lead to believe; the powers are grossly imbalanced, with the human ones being far more useful than the Typhon ones; the science-fiction concepts are explored in such an offensively superficial way (just read Blindsight instead). All of this coupled with the same old archaic shooting mechanics, limited enemy variety and disgustingly woke writing makes for an exceptionally unpleasant subsequent playthrough.

Thanks @grok

I loved all of it except the ending. That was really dumb.

Retard.

The Art Deco aesthetic was an exemplary case of "forced style."

Quick, we need a gimmicky visual design!

Bioshock did Art Deco, we'll do that too!

I know it's (very tenuously) justified in the lore, but it was so tonally incongruent with everything else.

Shit games do tend to filter most players.

It would've been better to implement the station not recognizing you as human more gradually instead of a sudden switch.
Being human has the station pamper you but on your own you're weak, start to do neuromods, ANY neuromod and you start to lose these privileges, for example as a full human turrets both defend you and offer ammo recharge, medium-high human turrets shoot in the area where thyphoons are with no care if you're there too, mid human, turrets don't turn on when placed, low human turrets aggro you.
and this shoul've been true for all tech on the station.

not an argument

this hidden jem

yea, about as hidden and gemly as Excremention Turdy 3/10. it was goyslop and (You) should strongly consider suicide if your shit taste convinced (You) in any capacity that it was good.

The fuck is forced style?

Play Mooncrash.

Amazing game. When it dropped people called ou a shill for talking about it, as always.

An arbitrarily adopted style or aesthetic, rather than one that is firmly justified by narrative, gameplay etc.

The ending ruins it. I loved it while I was first playing it but the "it was all a dream" bullshit killed any desire I had to ever replay it

fpbp

1. Consolefags weren't ready for LGS tier open-ended level design that demands exploration
2. Namefags pretending to be outraged over the extremely mid 2006 game

the human ones being far more useful than the Typhon ones

Psychoshock begs to differ

I think the unoriginal name confused a lot of people. Also most of the enemies are pretty bad and unoriginal

An arbitrarily adopted style or aesthetic

No it isn't. The games timeline branches off during the cold war and mixes soviet and US aesthetics of the 60s.

The interesting elements of the story such as Morgan's experimentation and discoveries are laid bare in the opening hours of the game. Past that it simply becomes about how best to rid the station of them or destroy the whole thing

Limited weapons. The wrench, pistol, disruptor, and q-beam all feel like shit to use. The boltcaster isn't really a weapon but a distraction / button pressing tool. Only the shotgun and GLOO cannon are reasonable

The enemies are unbelievably easy to sneak by in stealth. In addition you can further increase your stealth attack bonus to do ludicrous sums of damage

Typhon powers are ridiculously strong but the game actively encourages you not to purchase them as if discouraging a playstyle altogether for minor story changes

Barely any personality to the enemies. Most are large black blobs with different elemental configurations. Each is only weak to one or two weapon or typhon abilities limiting your options. Mimics are just all over the place which makes you tediously scan every room with your psychoscope

Coral (yellow mist) progressively fills the station as you advance the story making navigation frustrating and ruining the art style

Once Dahl arrives at the station the game experiences a severe drop in quality. Basically all of the enemies become small, annoying droids and the amount of backtracking goes through the roof

Forced recorded lesbian dialogue plays during a story sequence

Reward for completing one of the side missions is full psi recovery at any fountain in the game which removes any difficulty in the game from that point onward

Annoying hacking minigame of guiding a ball through hazards several times. Completely slows the game down

Ammo is said to be scarce by the developers but you can just craft it with easy to find materials

Many of the psionic powers you receive are just from other games

a wacky sandbox

That's what it's supposed to be. They don't let you recycle whatever isn't nailed down and craft whatever you want for nothing. You can also sequence break a good bit.

survival horror game

The survival part ends when you get the gloo gun. More than half the enemies can be easily killed by using stun gun/wrench and later stun gun/q-beam. The others need a nullwave grenade first so they don't use their psychic bullshit. On my last playthrough I never used the handgun or shotgun.
People who played this like CoD (invest in weapon skills and time slow then go unload your shotgun into everyone) complained that it was too easy.

wall of autistic greentext nitpicking

tldr, kys

This was also my impression. Everyone ITT that likes Prey probably thinks The Thing is the greatest movie ever made and Evangelion is worth rewatching once a year

Psychoshock begs to differ

The shotgun is better.

The first 3rd of the game was good. Then the four enemy types just got boring. And the ending was garbage.

So, people with absolute patrician taste? Agreed.

Dumb youtubers who made "this sucks" videos on launch are now making "this is actually cool" videos and getting praised for "having the courage to change and admit they were wrong". It's pretty funny. A lot were mad because of the name, as if Arkane had anything to do with that.

it was all a dream

any piece of media that pulls this garbage needs to be erased from existence and have its writers publicly executed

maurice.png - 1065x902, 1.52M

I finished it but it got really tedious towards the end and felt like a lot of back tracking. They could have shaved 5 hours off it easy.

goat game

yeah makes sense

NuPrey 04.jpg - 3840x2160, 864.5K

Anyone thinking of replaying it, check out the Prey Remastered mod. It adds DLAA.

Those youtubers were right the first time

If coral didn't appear you'd be complaining that the station is too samey and nothing changed even after a disaster hit it.
You know you can upgrade weapons to improve their stats, right?

The real magic of that mod is the HDR support.

thread ended here

It's amazing how the ending makes so many people mad. Why?

Actualy the greatest movie of all time is Aliens :)

Weapon mod system only increases weapon stats like damage or magazine size generically. There are no interesting mods nor do they change the aesthetics of the weapon

Talos exterior seems like a good concept to start with but you quickly find out it's just a few corpses spread hundreds of meters apart

Mirrors don't work. General warning sign of poor quality

D&D game night actually discussed extensively in e-mails to the detriment of the backstory

Generally poor voice acting. Cast seems completely disinterested or confused about their scripts

Juvenile puzzles. For instance there's one which requires you to look at a periodic table for the two atomic numbers for the door code

Character models look unusually ugly and don't fit the game world

Some enemy types just stop trying to pursue the player at longer range and just sit there and

Because the youtuber they watched play the game screamed about it.

Enter room

Poltergeist theme starts to play

>Forced recorded lesbian dialogue plays during a story sequence

Holy based. Picked up.

If coral didn't appear you'd be complaining that the station is too samey and nothing changed even after a disaster hit it.

There are other ways to do it rather than fill it up with yellow strands. It's annoying when the environment is one of the best aspects of Prey 2017

Ew.jpg - 1920x1080, 596.13K

they're ugly

needed a few more weapon types. Just a simple SMG variant, few shotgun variants, pistol variants, would've gone a looooooonggg wayy...

enemy could of been a BIT more varied but generally i thought they were ok

also needs a no mimics mod because fuck mimics for replays

Must be something people who value story over gameplay care about.
When I finish a game, I think about how great x boss fight was or clearing y dungeon was great because you had to avoid traps etc, not that I saved the dwarves or peace has now come back to the land.
Why the fuck should I care if it was all a dream? What would change if instead of being a dream, Morgan got on an escape pot or blew up with the station? Nothing.

Since you fags can only be negative i'll tell you why this game is great.

even at the tutorial stage the player is offered multiple choice on what they do, hell you can even kys

the mimic is one of the most unique enemies ever designed in a game

the gloo canon is great and in some ways better than even HL2's gravity gun

your weapon choice is limited meaning you need to get creative with the enviroment and powers

the station is the most immersive location in any game with you being able to find every crew member and learn their story

the enviroment is incredibly detailed and gorgeous to look at

every area has it's theme and different ways you can approach stuff

the enviroment is heavily interactable

you have unique weapons like an imploding grenade and the q-beam which fills up an enemy's healthbar

you have tons of upgrades letting you create nearly infinite number of builds

you have a ton of secrets and paths you can discover even if you put hundreds of hours into the game

Mooncrash is great and fixes nearly every problem the base game has while adding a ton to it

You get the point.

It's near the end of the game when they're preparing to summon the big bad.
If it was a medieval setting and they were summoning a demon, would you expect the castle to be covered in blood or to be as clean as an operating room? Think of all the architecture you don't get to enjoy because there's blood, arms, legs and guts strewn all over the place.
How would you have gone about it? More explosive decompressions?

I love Prey and agree with most of your points, but this one needs refuting:

your weapon choice is limited meaning you need to get creative with the enviroment and powers

Your weapon choice is limited but it doesn't matter because "shotgun it harder" is the solution to almost every encounter. Shotgun and timestop reflexes trivialize the entire game.

Based sseth telling the zoomers whats gemmy

You get to listen to their cringe DnD session when looking for voice clips.

latter half of this game FUCKING SUCKED and that goes both gameplay-wise and storywise

that's why it's not talked about or remembered as 'le underrated classic master le piece gem'

Fair enough, but i usualy ignore the shotgun and i never use timestop so i kinda forgot about it.

On one playthrough I recycled all the firearms I encountered and never fired a shot. Had no issues apart from the cargo hold fight where I just crafted so many turrets that they were blocking the door.
One interesting playthrough is to dump everything in hacking and leverage as soon as possible. You can start opening safes in the simulation labs (that you're not supposed to at that point) or clear paths in the lobby and other areas that you wouldn't be able to because you don't have the recycler charge yet.
Fucking around with the gloo gun and platforming in the lobby at the start can also lead to unexpected results.

Shooting at black blobs isn't fun. That's why I quit, I tried playing this game a few times but it just got boring

There's a difference between that and obscuring 50% of your environment. Also the coral has two phases of filling part of the station.

oh no the piss cult is about to summon the piss elemental king and they’ve covered the castle with perpetually flowing piss streams to facilitate the entry of the grand pisser into this plane of existence!

Is a fairer comparison.

This isn't a shooter. It's an immersive sim.

Then answer the question. How would you have redone the coral thing? Make it look like mould at the corners of rooms ? Make it like a giant sphere that keeps expanding and add a piss filter that activates the moment you set foot inside (so players know they're in the danger zone now)?

Bros, how would you make Prey 2?

Playing it as a shooter is the least fun way to play. True geniuses set traps, throw couches at enemies to attract their attention then turn into a desktop pc and fly through a hole in the roof (or turn into a a can of beer and roll away).

the mimic is one of the most unique enemies ever designed in a game

Why? Mimics have appeared as objects in quite a lot of video games before Prey but usually as chests. When you make it almost any random inanimate object and then provide the counter to it then it becomes tiresome to scan the room for them all the time.

your weapon choice is limited meaning you need to get creative with the enviroment and powers

This is just completely false there are hard counters to enemies which you pretty much have to use otherwise you're just wasting resources. You really can't get creative beyond forcing them into traps you've set with grenades or turrets

the station is the most immersive location in any game with you being able to find every crew member and learn their story

What that 90% of them are already dead or mind controlled by the time you find them? Your main interactions are with your brother and the remaining crew members in cargo bay. How convenient that most of them are mentioned in e-mails and audio logs to the exclusion of basically everyone else.

every area has it's theme and different ways you can approach stuff

Not the exterior of the station or GUTS that's for damn sure.

you have unique weapons like an imploding grenade and the q-beam which fills up an enemy's healthbar

Recycler is alright but the q-beam is just bad. It's basically a stacking debuff which you follow up with a coup de grace. It's annoying in the sense that it doesn't stun the enemy at all you just channel it in the hopes they don't inflict too much damage to you while you're doing it

you have tons of upgrades letting you create nearly infinite number of builds

You always acquire nearly everything in the game on the first playthrough. The difference is timing. Enemies die fast on every difficulty even with dogshit weapons so most people are going to invest in abilities which allow them to unlock more rooms earlier and carry more stuff

I didn't meant it as a bad thing, just a strange tonal shift from what the intro set it up for.

you have a ton of secrets and paths you can discover even if you put hundreds of hours into the game

This isn't really true of Prey 2017. What I discovered in repeat playthroughs was more ways to unlock things earlier and acquire more loot. I haven't found any new paths or secrets in a long time. Now if you were talking about Deus Ex MD holy shit there are a lot of new secrets and paths you find on repeat playthroughs.

One of those games I liked a lot while I was playing it but like less and less the more I think about it. had the same experience with bioshock wierdly

Mooncrash was extremely good too but I feel like alot of people just didnt bother to download and play it.

When you make it almost any random inanimate object and then provide the counter to it then it becomes tiresome to scan the room for them all the time.

Aight, the game isn't the most balanced i'll give you that. But they're still fun to fight in the early game and most people aren't autistic enough to scan every single room.

This is just completely false there are hard counters to enemies which you pretty much have to use otherwise you're just wasting resources.

You won't know what the best strategy is the first time. Plus you have abilities like reanimation, hypnotization, machine mind and movement abilitiea like the dash or lift field.

What that 90% of them are already dead or mind controlled by the time you find them?

Each one of them has a story and a role on Talos 1 before they die. You can read their emails, listen to audio logs,...

Not the exterior of the station or GUTS that's for damn sure.

Even these places have unique identities and different approaches.

It's annoying in the sense that it doesn't stun the enemy at all you just channel it in the hopes they don't inflict too much damage to you while you're doing it

Just use other abilities or grenades on the enemy while using it.

most people are going to invest in abilities which allow them to unlock more rooms earlier and carry more stuff

Most people are retarded and don't try to play in varied ways

wasting resources

The resources you can get back by dragging shit into a pile and throwing a recycler charge? If you loot every trash can and room you come upon there's no need to do that anyway.

What that 90% of them are already dead or mind controlled by the time you find them?

You can remove the mind control by using the stun gun and you'll meet them in the bay later on.
There are plenty of e-mails and logs that have nothing to do with the characters still alive in the cargo bay. I guess you didn't spend much time reading or exploring. There are some dead crew members that you wouldn't find without using the bracelet tracking system.

It's annoying in the sense that it doesn't stun the enemy at all you just channel it in the hopes they don't inflict too much damage to you while you're doing it

Have you thought about using the stun gun to maybe stun them and then switching to the q-beam? Or is that unfun or unintuitive?

it filtered me because of how fucking boring it was.

There's some very subtle paths and tutorials that i really liked finding out about myself. Like how the game teaches you in universe about the recycler charge.

I wouldn't call it Prey 2, I'd call it PREY (2026)

in the fantasy setting, the castle itself would morph to be more horrifying over the course of the game. not just covered up with glowing piss strands.

Blame Bethesda. Devs wanted to give it a different name. But Bethesda thought it would bring in crowds due to the name recognition.

its a fucking shooter fuck you retards who need every game to be its own genre

It would have stayed a horror for a while longer if you played as someone not included in the neuromod projects (simlab and psychotronics). Aliens escape containment and what the hell is going on the station etc.
Morgan is probably the one who shoved the most exotic material into his skull out of anyone on the station. January starts talking to you and then you watch yourself on the looking glass and get more info. Anyone else without executive clearance wouldn't have been able to make January and the other robots to help before shit hit the fan.

what name recognition? the last "prey" game, where you fight an alien invasion by going heyahey-yah flopped too.

What was so hidden about it? This had more awareness than the original Prey.

when someone starts saying "Soul" and "Soulless" you can safely disregard them. it's a zoomer buzzword

/thread

Do you plan to kill yourself when you see a gay person in real life?

It's an RPG like System shock 2 not your Bioslop.

How would that work on the space station with alien tech/abilities?
You can't really deform the station without causing decompression.
Would it have looked better if it was the same material the Typhons are made out of (but yellow!) spreading out like tentacles throughout the station?

Dropped.

It's no more an RPG than Bioshock 1.

Depends on what you understand by flop. Some executives seem to think it means that everyone on the planet didn't buy at least two copies.

In October 2006, 3D Realms CEO Scott Miller announced that the game was a commercial success on both PC and Xbox 360 with combined 1 million copies sold worldwide to date.

what a stupid analogy

its literally spread around by jaded millenidroids

Mick Gordon

so thats why the music is so forgettable

Oh shid. I forgot about this game. How close are they to 1.0 and has a lot been added since release?

Bioshock is linear as fuck, has no inventory and your upgrades don't really change how you interact with the world. Prey is way more open, and you will have a much different experience based on what build you're going for. Im currently playing a STR 10 INT 1 build so i can't upgrade my guns a lot and have to rely on heavy objects and my wrench to kill enemies. Bioslop on the other hand just has you deal different types of damage from your arm. Every playthrough is identical.

playing it as a shooter

Low IQ detected, and I'm not even memeing.

Credit song is kino.
youtube.com/watch?v=7TRdx2tbUFI

Also, the jingle everytime you finish a quest is unsurpassed.

a better idea wouldn't work so a bad idea wasn't bad

Bioslop on the other hand just has you deal different types of damage from your arm.

Don't be mean. You can also melt some ice walls with the fire spell.
It's not like you can burn almost everything like you can recycle it in Prey

Prey has one of the best vidya soundtracks by far.

The credit song is literally the ONLY memorable track

Yeah the fire upgrade you're forced to get. As i said every playthrough is identical.

Immsims are for low IQ people

Unlike your gacha slop lol.

Fuck this thing

Most people are retarded and don't try to play in varied ways

There is a very specific type of audience for these games and everyone knows that unlocking stuff always results in the best outcomes.

I know. I was underlining how Bioshock is pretty limited when it comes to environmental interaction. Can you do anything else apart from melting walls and shocking people in puddles.
You're just quoting a shoe company. "Just do it". How? How do you morph the station (like you said you would the castle) without it imploding?

I guess you can also hack some shit. But you can do that in every playthrough instead of having a dedicated build.

No. It's just a bad game.

Many of the psionic powers you receive are just from other games

This is a bad thing because...?

NO! YOU CANT JUMP IN YOUR GAEM, MARIO DID IT FIRST!!!

Wait until you find out what life is about

Riveting rebuttal

It filtered everyone because it's repetitive and boring, it doesn't come close to any of the classics it tries to copy. People here only praise this shit because of the classic Anon Babble contrarianism

Oh shut the fuck up. I'm a diehard SS2 fan and find Prey to be the closest and best successor

It's a game with a great shotgun, and we like that. Yeah, we like that.

Better than the base game desu

folks

"Folk" is already plural you niggerbabbling imbecile.

This

Great design prob my favorite. I also like how most guns have their own unique hud.

it doesn't come close to any of the classics it tries to copy

Funny how Bioshock fits that label better but people hail it as as some legendary accomplishment in gaming. I guess dumbed-down gameplay and "would you kindly" work better on the feeble-minded.

I don't think it filtered anyone, it's a normal imsim and most people are not into using their brain during games unles it's simplistic turn-based trash

Love the little glass ammo counter on the side, and it's a sleek and simple design.

Did you know the foam darts also work on the hacking button?

There's far less room for creative player expression and emergent gameplay than we're first lead

as opposed to what you dumb poser? in SS2 or Thief you can't do 10% of the shit you do in this game so why what ridiculous standard are you judging this game's emergent gamplay?

This one is a little different because everything in it actually happened other than the exact actions taken by the player character
It does still reduce the impact of your agency, but it's not as miserable as most other games that have that kind of asspull because it's not all allegorical pretentious bullshit

Should've killed Prigozhin, that will allow to bypass that questline.

bioshock but meh

Oh look, a contrarian retard that sees woke everywhere. The game is fine, it's biggest problem is easily the lack of different enemy types and the ending is a bit weak. Other than that it's blast from the past, from the better times in the 90's when devs actually cared about proper maps and gameplay. You'd know this if you lived back then. Prey oozes old school vibes like Half-life and System Shock and that's the best thing about it.

it was all a dream

*yawn* at least try to incorporate the real story into your game, don't expose it as a 2 minute post credits screen

Should be soon. No date has been set but devs did a price increase because steam policy says you need to wait 30 between a price increase and 1.0 update (or something like that)

I don't know what that anon is on, they aren't the same but don't let that stop you from enjoying abiotic factor blind. Great game

Imsim bros why are all threads like this?
Half the posts are retards nitpicking irrelevant shit as if we have a million alternatives to choose from.
Off the top of my head past 2010 the only non-indie imsims are Dishonored 1&2, Deus Ex 3&MD, and Prey. Unless you wanna count Elder Scrolls and the new Zeldas...
Imagine if we had a proper modding scene for these games

look it up

photobashed textures scaled down with nearest-exact to make it look "pixel" ""art""

modern per pixel shader effects with bloom on top of it

half assed "le ps1 retro low-poly aesthetics"

graphic design 101 color palette with neon purple and green

Why do they do this to themselves? Is there any creativity left in game graphics?

Have you seen the interviews from the devs? The amount of work they put into development is insane and they were all extremely passionate about the project. You should hear how Raphaël Colantonio talks about the game

Mooncrash was kino of the highest order. It's one of the top five best roguelikes of all time

I enjoyed it a lot, but a few hours in I just got bored because the weapons weren't fun to use, and the enemies didn't have a lot of variety.

ghey.jpg - 878x350, 81.58K

People kept calling it the System Shock 3 we never got and I got baited hard.

And what did you not like?

rather than one that is firmly justified by narrative

it's set in an alternate timeline where JFK survives his assassination attempt. I don't see why he wouldn't want to usher in a new golden age of art deco architecture for his space projects. it's the style he grew up seeing built

that would've been kino but there are so many systems in this game already.

I'm a huge fan of Prey and I don't like the ending too much. I wanted it to be less ambiguous

The OG Prey 2 looked like one of the best games ever before getting cancelled
This is generic looking scifi slop

I'm not a Mick Gordon dick sucker but Prey's soundtrack is easily his best work. How could you say the music is unforgettable when this this the opening sequence of the game?
youtu.be/CD8Wjmub4B8?feature=shared

based. it's so intuitive and pleasing to look at

These are the retards calling imsim a low-iq genre. Can't even understand that two things that share a name aren't necessarily the same.

3 enemies (headcrab, slenderman cacodemon)

3 weapons (pistol, goo gun, dart gun)

endless backtracking with boring movement

its a 4/10 at most

Starts great but shows quickly that it hasn't going on enough to keep you interested. I always assume that all people praising it quit after the first third and filled the missing two thirds up with yt lore videos that made it sound smarter than it actually was.

Standard FPS weapons are just secondaries, the wrench feels good to use, and the main tools are turrets and charges anyway.

Typhon powers should not be used just because how game breakingly op they are.

Enemies designs are alright, typhon matter looks good vfx-wise, the only nitpick I can get is that mechanically all enemies are ripped off HL2/STALKER series, sometimes up to their names even. Mimics are threat only in first 2 hours, later they're as threatening as hl2 headcrabs.

Coral looks beautiful and pleasant to look at, also indicates the stage of game progression.

Forced recorded lesbian dialogue

You know you can bypass literally all of it?

kek

"Imsim" is the most tranny-made fake game subgenre ever. It's just a first person shooter, and "immersive simulator" means nothing and does not describe the games in any way. You are not special.

When I finished game for the first time I could imagine 6-8 distinct possible endings from the get go. What we got was 2 samey endings, and 1 fake game overish non-ending.

It was corporate trash, a living proof that the art direction matters as much if not more then gameplay.
Prey is prime definition of "soulless".

How it was ambiguous

Faggot, the art direction was some of that generation's best.

It's so underrated only because devs marketed it as a roguelite, and thus threw off a major chunk of audience.

It was generic af

Name 5 sci fi art deco games. And elaborate on your points.

I enjoyed it, but the space segments outside Talos I can really drag. I can see why people would really hate the end too. Both times I played, I didn't use any typhon abilities and stuck to just spamming turrets because I love those little fuckers.

That intro song is orgasmic.

I really hope his next game is great
I mean, it is the closest thing we have to an SS3

if the entire game is simulation for a typhon with human neuromods what actually happened to Morgan and the Talos I? There's also a theory that all humans in real life except Alex are operators and I would like to know if that's true or at least why Alex is hanging around operators and not humans at the end

it looks promising and he hasn't struck out in recent years. Weird West was pretty good

There was no Morgan. The story of Talos 1 does not matter, none of it may be real.

The only real part of the game is last 2 minute you see in the ending, which is why it sucks

No you retard. Talos 1 was real and so was Morgan, you can see their picture in Mooncrash. The Typhon outbreaks happened.

Devs daid moonclash is not canon

filtered

Hollywood makes shit trash. You are filtered for watching it!!!!

talos 1 was real

This is contradicted by how the “alpha” didn’t actually attack the station or earth.

make an actual fun and very effective melee build with sliding and super fast movement speed

lock it behind installing all nuromod upgrades for the final hidden character in the Mooncrash DLC

Where?

The most egregious part about to me is the non-stop

please Morgan pleaaasse just do this thing for me one more time just find this mucguffin one last time and this time I’ll meet you and explain everything for reals

finally meet him

passes out cold

another bitch starts talking about yet another part of the station to be explored

Like come on, couldn’t they have structured this so it wouldn’t be fucking grating to go through? It happens like 4+1 times in the story(side missions too but at least there’s resolution there).

The point is the piss fronds were a bad idea. You’re defending them on the grounds of “it was the best they could do,” which means they’re incompetent.

And you have yet to come up with something better.

Weird West is worth a play? Always thought about getting it on sale

You deserve that for playing as a woman, troon.

based retard

Not doing it at all would’ve been better, is the point you seem unable to comprehend.

If your game is from a big game studio and it flops, It's for a reason. This is different from hidden gem indie passion projects that go unnoticed such as aneurism IV.

bad naming and generic name for a video game

setting is generic shapeshifting space goo aliens, which is boring

generic environment looks exactly the fucking same wherever you go on talos, there's no real difference or uniqueness in the sections of the station they all look exactly the fucking same

the ending is stupid, even worse than the cliffhanger of alien isolation

The mechanics are good but the story is meh, mid. Didn't have any real connection with rescuing anyone and was bored out of my mind fetch questing shit after 20 hours.

nigger I heard about that game here

One of the best plot twists in gaming history.
