Yea you cheap bastards stop complaining!! Learn to spend your money wisely! You’ll pay that $80 and you’ll like it!!
Learn to spend your money wisely!
I thought you wanted me to buy your game though
stop buying FOTM slop
Okay. I won't buy your game.
w-wait, not like that
Snoys and tendies are able to set aside their differences and unite hand in hand defending the greediest companies on earth.
yea its theft alright
niggas are paying 80 USD for games on GayStation? LMAO
and tendies
Let's not kid ourselves. Switch 2 will have a record breaking launch and Mario Kart World will be the highest selling game in the Mario Kart franchise.
they say spend my money wisely
Most wise choice is not buying games at all
SOMEONE STOP THESE ECONOMIC TERRORISTS
Well then that snoy exec should pray their new AAAA projects aren't going to become the next Concord
choose carefully how to spend their money
proceeds to ignore 99.999% of $70 and $80
hey why isn't anyone buying our games?
k Ill go buy 3 excellent indie games instead.
I still can not fathom even remotely caring about the price of video games. 50, 100, it doesn't fucking matter. It's a trivial difference, and 80 bucks for 20 hours of fun is an insanely good price compared to pretty much every other leisure activity.
How much are they paying you?
I fucking wish i could be a paid shill, as it stands i have to be right for free.
I still can not fathom even remotely caring about the price of video games. 50, 100, it doesn't fucking matter. It's a trivial difference,
buys 3 $50 games
$150
buys 3 $100 games
$300
$150 difference
trivial
Obviously a troll post, but it's always useful to visualize the financial moves.

Graphics ≠ higher quality
Give me richer mechanics and gameplay.
Bold of them to admit they're robbing people.
You know, somebody said, oh, the shelves are going to be open. Well, maybe the children will have 2 games instead of 30 games. So maybe the 2 games will cost a couple bucks more than they would normally.
Kek
Thanks, Canadian government. I hope we get even more pajeets shipped here, that'll help our dollar.
Increasing game prices is based, it means less games will be bought overall and thus more companies will close.
I might considering paying $80 if you promise that's the full game and you won't try to double/triple the price with DLC. Might consider it.
I agree with that exec: just wait for a sale, problem solved.
70 or 80 dollars
and don't forget to preorder the digital deluxe edition that comes with bonus preorder content, the season pass, the microtransactions, the platform exclusive content and so on and so forth
how about fuck you and die you greedy cunts? you kept selling the lie that you needed to do all this bullshit because making games is so expensive and hard at 60 bucks, and now you're raising the prices while keeping all that bullshit around anyway. eat my ass
They are a steal, the company is literally stealing from you to give you a worse product that takes longer to develop than it should. Where is my instruction manual? Where is my physical copy? Why does it take 6 months after a game releases for it to be bug free and stable? Companies are bloated with too many shitters and not enough competent workers. They all want to work remotely and because they aren't bumping into each other constantly in the office many people have no idea what all the working parts of a project are or how they play together. The AAA industry can't crash soon enough.
I agree actually. The price isn't too high even at 80€ but heres the deal.
I'm a going to buy maybe 10% of the games I've been buying at full price that way.
For example take 2025.
Let's see what games I'd buy for 80€
Monster Hunter Wilds.
Yep thats it. So far out of all the games that came out thats the only one I'd pay 80€ for.
For Sony that means i won't buy
Ass Creed
Ghosts of Yotei
Death Stranding 2
Pirate Yakuza
GTA 6
Doom
Civ 7
Atomfall
Split Fiction
Other World 2
etc...
I'm just not gonna buy em
Why buy $80 AAAslop games when $50 AA games can do all that they can?
Not that anon, but it's kind of true. $150 and $300 are basically interchangeable in the grand scheme of things. You pay more than that per month for utilities in America. People who complain about game prices are ignoring reality, both in the sense that barely any games cost that much, and that the typical household can afford a "luxury" every now and again. I don't even think it's poorfags getting mad about this stuff, or kids, it's just people who dislike change, period.
Is that it? They're raising the prices, so that players commit to the games they purchase? To collect data from people that feel obligated to continue playing games until its worth the purchase?
If you wished you could get paid for shilling your stupid anti consumer opinions then you definitely don't have the kind of money to claim that there is no meaningful difference between 50 or 100 bucks per video game.
the extra money you're paying is to cover for all the diversity hires who are just there to fill quotas
want the scum out of the industry? simple, dont buy AAA games
and at those prices, that shouldnt be a difficult decision
Don't forget advanced access.
If we lived in a just world the first game that tried "we're delaying the game for everyone who doesn't pay us extra" would have sold zero copies after having been universally boycotted.
we will see way more flops now.
its going to be glorious.
I will continue to buy both AA and AAA games when they are inevitably 50-75% discounted on a sale. Not sure why anyone would bother buying games at full price these days. The big studios have no leverage because they don't make games anymore that are exciting and good enough to where I'd just have to buy it day 1. There is also such an enourmous amount of games released every year, you can always buy a 2 year old AAA game for 20 bucks that is the exact same genre and level of quality as the newest one that just released for $80.
You deserve it for paying full price for games instead of just being even remotely intelligent and waiting for a sale.
Games should be $500 and double every month. You can argue and bend this discussion how you want, the reality is that I'm not buying games at $70+. But those who do don't care, so DO drain them.
it's simple, just pirate the majority of games where the devs put in the minimum of effort, and support the ones that actually deserve it
stopping buying avacado on toast and you can afford a single switch game
people who dislike change, period.
Yes, I dislike change, specifically increases in price because it means I lose more money that I can spend on other things.
On what fucking planet are you retards living in that you're actively spreading your asscheeks so soulless corpos can fuck you?
he's right, the people complaining spend hundreds of dollars a year on 10 games, and they should be fine with spending hundreds on just 4 or 5
The average attachment rate for most consoles is 3 games over the entire generation.
Most people do not buy games at all.
It's a trivial difference, and 80 bucks for 20 hours of fun is an insanely good price compared to pretty much every other leisure activity.
leisure activities such as???
biking
free
jogging
free
playing soccer with bros
free
swimming in a wild lake
free
emulating old games
free
hmm.... $80 for 20 hours suddenly looks infinitely worse!!!
Yes, 150 bucks is absolutely a trivial, insignificant amount of money.
Wage is 1000€ game costs suddenly go up from 60€ to 80€
Is it to me as a European with a 1000€ wage quite fascinating that Americans that on paper earn like 50.000$ a year so 4.166$ a month media wage that they care so much that consoles cost 100$ more or that game cost 10$ more.
Maybe I don't get it but if I had 4000€ holy shit I quite literally wouldn't know what to do with that much money a month.
80 bucks for 20 hours of fun
how about 10 bucks for 600 hours of fun instead?
only easily impressionable fools still buy AAA trash
Why would i wait for something i want if i don't have to? I lose absolutely nothing of significance if i buy on day 1.
americans pay income tax too.
and making more money doesnt mean that any sort of ripoff is justified.
you are a shiteater.
this game was better than every AAA game released in the last 2 years, and costs 50 bux
AAA marketers on suicide watch
This is just word, we know you buy everything Twitch streamers play every week end.
none of this is entertainment.
Projection
Former Playstation exec says $70 or $80 games are a "steal"
He's right, just not in the way he most likely intended.
No it's just that I'm used to from a very early age when my wage was as low as 320$ back 15 years ago paying like a considerable % of my wage for gaming.
A console wasn't something I could buy with one paycheck, a game isn't something that was impulse bought but planed and calculated, I always had to think in terms of this game is 1/10th of my wage is it worth my time to pay for it.
Back in the day a good wage was 4000 Croatian Kuna and game cost 500 kuna so 1/8th of you entire wage for say Age of Empire 2 back in 1999.
Naturally piracy was absolutely rampant. And I probably played more games then most Americans have because of it. But still like complaining a Switch 2 is 500$ or 400$. Wouldn't matter to me if I had 4000$ since it's a purchase you make and then you're set for like the next 6 years.
it s not about spending eurobro, it s about buying your financial freedom . it s not cheap
How much do you earn anon? Income tax in the US is pathetic compared to the EU. I don't think a single state has 15% income tax.
Meanwhile Europeans see 50% of their wages dissapear each month thats why we provide wages after taxes as earning numbers. Actually most of the world does it this way.
Open world games should be $100, that way they'll sell less and less will be made.
You pay more than that per month for utilities in America.
Believe it or not my Gas and Electric were both $70 each this past month. That $150 difference covers two separate bills. It only starts becoming more during the summer and winter months.
The major issue though with increase game prices is that at a certain point it will actually make people pause and do the math for the month/ year. Only to realize that multiple purchases puts them extremely close to the thousand dollar territory.
If you buy 1 $70 game each month for 12 months that is $840. Plus tax and it gets you near or at $900. Which is an extra one to two car payments or a medical/ dental bill. Even if you only buy six $70 games a year instead that is still $450-500 (give or take tax) which is an extra car payment. That will instantly make people rethink the value of these games. Especially when you consider getting six games a year for $50 would cost you around $300-330 in comparison.
As long as they choose carefully how to spend their money.
Don't worry, that's what I'm doing.
No point in paying for an $80 game when I can buy 6-12 indie games instead and get way more enjoyment than I would out of a generic AAA game.
I do choose carefully. That's why I never spent a cent on tendie nor snoy schlop.
I entered enough consoletard nintendo threads and article comment sections that most people are would gladly pay 80 or more for games.
Nintendo deserves more for giving us so many amazing games for well over 20 years now. I will give them all they want, I will sell my family and home for them
I don't care, I won't buy them until they are dropped to $5 or less. Even then I probably won't buy them.
For every tendo game you buy I will pirate 3.
Not a single game ever made is worth playing for 600 hours. I got 120 out of Terraria and some of that was already wasted and pointless.
Not a single game ever made is worth playing for 600 hours
Wrong
lol
lmao
That just means you have no friends.
80 bucks for 20 hours of fun is an insanely good price
holy fucking lol no
good is 1 buck = 1 hour
