Parry chads we eating good
Parry chads we eating good
Not good to parry everything. As parrying an enemy and counter attack them with a element they absorb than you just heal the enemy and set yourself back. Can't parry everything anyway as pure Debuff attacks can only be dodged.
Real chads exploit i frames.
b-but I hit you
No you missed.
dodge
parry
miss
block
absorbed
immune
resist
reflected
what else is there?
press button at right time to avoid damage ; CRINGHE
press button at right time to avoid damage with cool clang effect : ZAZZED
both are shit
I think dodge, parry and tanking hits with super armor/poise are all equally cool and its a shame very few games let you do all three to instead hyper focus on 1-2 of them
yeah
Deflect
Riposte
Endured
COUNTER
Deflect is kino.
I hope From will add deflect into their core combat for next big souls game
Why is a good, hard puzzle so much more satisfying difficulty than 'press button for invincibility frames'?
i-frame dodge and parry are the same thing.
I like a good mix of both
Correct. A real hero doesn’t do blocks; he dances out of trouble!
Poisetanking
Glancing Blow
we eating good
How so? Anything new coming out that is parry focused?
Poisetanking > Deflect > Dodge > Dark Souls parry where you do it one or three times with the shitty timing and do a riposte.
My favorite in souls is Sword ‘n Shield block and position.
Is this game good?
It really boils down to that
Run like a bitch
vs
Stand your ground and stop the enemy assaulting you
There's also common sense, for example you should be able to block a train slamming into you and supposed to dodge it. But when the dodge is a default move vs every attack in the game, the game turns into some cuck humiliation simulator. Which says things about all those faggots proud about exclusively using dodge mechanic in from software games.
I press and hold block when game starts and don't let go until it ends
YOOOOOOOOOO THIS GAMEPLAY FIREEEEE FRFR
parryfags are still avoiding damage like bitches
t. tank gang
Literally the Two Dragons Sword from Lies of P. Its charge attack is a parry with an immediate riposte if you land the timing.
I do it anyway because I'm not a pussy. Besides the amount you heal them is less than 10% of the damage you deal anyway
posts a boss you could parryCHAD but choses to virginROLL instead
expedition 33 and doom dark ages
Imagine relying on convenient invincibility that lets you phase through shit and nullify damage.
Imagine being a masochist who lets the enemy beat them up.
How about you try moving out of the way of the attack.
Parry is highly unreliable in ER because you don't know what you can and can't parry until you trial and error each separate enemy and eat a lot of shit in process when it turns out that the parry is not an option for that move.
Same as with those jump or crouch hit boxes that some people jack off to, they're completely arbitrary, there are no ingame indication of them being an option, and trying to use them when not appropriate is punishable by eating shit.
The only reliable defence mechanics which are guaranteed to not be arbitrarily obsolete are roll and greatshield.
i'm happy for you. Or sorry that happened
Kill yourself wojaknigger.
tanked
So let's see if I understand the system correctly
Dodge has extra iframes
a perfect dodge means that you would have parried the attack if you pushed parry instead of dodge
When you see just "dodge" it means you would have been hit if you pushed parry, and what saved you were the extra iframes
am I correct?
The final redpill is that due to counterattack mechanics parrying actually makes you a casual due to the game becoming easier
how do you make a good parry mechanic?
the only examples I can think of rn are Fromsoft games that is meh or bad and the most recent BasedDoom that looks lame as hell
any good examples/ideas?
live yourself
It's not like I ever fact checked that, but it seems obvious that's what it is.
I've never dodged or parried in my entire life
trade
Is it illegal to combine multiple defensive options into a single game or something?
Parries that make you take partial damage are shit, because if I dodge right I take 0 damage every time. Parries that have a perfect frame window are good but only equal to the neutral dodge, and parries that give you some sort of counterattack or other beneficial effect on perfect parry are based and peak gameplay. Royal Guard is cooler than Trickster.
