They should redo the art of scarlet hollow since they have the money now.

A lot of people take for granted that Scarlet Hollow is fucking huge. They wanted to make a “choices matter” game where they actually do, but that means an obscene amount of variables to track. Every episode takes longer than the one before it because there are even more past choices to account for. Slay the Princess was their idea of trying to make something small and constrained. Episode 5 should be out later this year if all goes as planned, with the final two in 2026.

Probably a couple hundred hours? I'm making a VN engine with it's own editor. The clown scene so far is just a couple hours but all the tools and stuff has been a lot. Also training an AI model on STP art took some time. It's using OpenGL as the renderer inside of Avalonia.

Ever since I played this game on release not a day has gone by where I don't think of my beloved Shifty.

Before StP I never really understood the waifufag skylarking but now I truly get it. I can (and have, in these very threads) go on and on about how much I love her and how she's perfect in every way. I'm truly glad these threads have been around for me to for me to gush about my autistic fixation and discuss it with fellow Anons. As much as I wish even more people eventually experience what I deem to be the greatest love story ever told I'm happy it's popular enough to give the devs the financial stability to independently pursue future projects. As for StP itself I am content with leaving it the way it is. Besides, Anons have already gotten around to developing zany mods and shitposting about my Princess to entertain me further.

She is indeed the best thing to have ever happened to me.
Now all that's left for me is to wait for my Collector's edition to arrive.

It really depends, the artstyle is the biggest thing that pushed me away from it. It was only after I played StP and other Anon's were talking about it did I really give it a shot. It's pretty alright once you sink your teeth into it, I will play the new chapter once it comes out.

Hell, most vessel paths have more substance to them than entire stories do. I think you don't expect the sincerity, and then it catches you off-guard.
"Autistic fixation" is a nice way to put it I guess. My brain to this day finds lewds of Shifty or most of the vessels almost disgusting, in a way (except for Smut bait Adversary and Tower, they're my least favourite routes in terms of emotional connection and they're clearly just anime tropes). Some sort of case of dealing with enough real relationships and finding something that idealizing doesn't negatively affect.
I don't remember the last time a game managed to make me cry. Maybe Nier Automata, but it rarely happens. But StP managed it, well, at least several times.
