The fact of the matter is, this tech is new and only people who have the most cutting edge hardware should be running it, and that's even if they so desire to since even on the highest end cards available on the market right now games like CP with path tracing still fucking chug, so it's only for enthusiasts who want brief insight into how future games and tech will look like.
Companies should really not be advertising with it, they are because they're desperate since graphics tech is stagnant and has been for years.

RT enables properly accurate dynamic lighting, so every time I hear someone go off about it without acknowledging that I simply assume they're retarded. It is absolutely the case that it does not offer a meaningful upgrade in many scenarios, and you may well not be willing to pay the fps toll for lighting accuracy when it does matter, but if you're not going to at least engage with the matter in a realistic way anon, you should consider taking your retarded conclusions elsewhere.

No I actually hate the tech for three reasons:
1. It offers a barely noticeable difference. Difference, not improvement, because there are a lot of times when it looks worse than algorithmic lighting, but it is prasied as if it is literally a fucking jesus of lighting tech.
2. It gives developers an easy out because instead of properly working with the lighting they’ll just slap a reflection count on a surface and whatever the engine shits out they will call (((accurate))) and how it akchyualli should look, even if it looks like shit
3. It is a new “big thing” that you are expected to be hyped about and there are GPUs that cost thousands of dollars where THE ONLY upgrade is slightly better performance of RT and combined with previous point you will be forced into buying them pretty soon. We could’ve had actual picture quality increase where 4k would have stable 60+ fps in AAA with a midrange card and top tier cards could start doing the native 8k resolution with playable framerates, but instead for the next few gens your (((performance improvement))) will be limited to better RT performance(it will cut down 45% of your framerate instead of 50%)
Stick to playing shit on girlsgogames you can get no RT and 1000 fps in every title

It's not because ray tracing does nothing. Particularly in interior lighting, the difference can be night and day.
