The first one, yeah. I heard the sequels are a bit harder to 1cc. I love Shmups but they give me bad headaches if I play them too long so 1cc’ing one is maybe out of the question. But 1cc’ing any arcade game sounds like a really fun challenge to set yourself, depending on the game of course

I just can't get into it. I understand why people love it but I have an hardtime spending time in a game that so painful to look at. Each pixel is as big as my thumb on the display I use to shmup, games released 30 years ago weren't THIS low res, and the color scheme doesn't help. In fact, I've noticed that I get worse at shmups when I start to understand the scoring mechanics because I start to feel that I'm playing the wrong way and I start to expose myself more and progress less the more I play them, which is shameful.

Does anyone know how exactly the "no miss" difficulty works when you play the training mode of re-releases of the Cave games?
When you choose a level, you have the option of "normal" or "no miss". I assume that as long as you don't die on a level, it's considerably harder, but as soon as you die once, the difficulty ranking drops, right?
So every time I start a level is it harder than normal until I die once? Or does that "no miss" in training mode just lock the ranking at a level close to what is expected when the player reaches level 3, then 4, etc. without having died once?
