nothing new announced since

What the fuck is going on with this series? They were pumping out games at an almost Call of Duty level

they are trying to come up with a slut hotter than lady dimitrescu
it's not an easy thing to do

Capcom has no clue where to go now with the series, which is why they keep doing the remakes. I enjoyed Village for what it was but it was clear it was meant to be a completely different game originally and all the main cast that they keep reusing is reaching retirement age.
I wouldn't be surprised if they did another RE1 remake soon.

Capcom has no clue where to go now with the series

Easy, Grand finale two parter followed by a soft reboot. That or a Devil May Cry crossover.

I thought they said they were doing 0 and Code Veronica next didn’t they?

It's over for them
Resident Evil 5 and 6 are impossible to remake because of the multiplayer focus
They could remake 1 again but that's so retarded they might not consider it
Code Veronica was a mistake they are trying to forget
Village flopped and now they have to clue what to do for 9

Next title releases March 22, 2026

What the fuck is going on with this series? They were pumping out games at an almost Call of Duty level

Good, they need to slow the fuck down all they've been making is slop

They were pumping out games at an almost Call of Duty level

Yeah that's a bad thing. We need a break.

Why do you want yearly installments you fucking brainrot zoomer. Let them release a good fucking Resident Evil. You won't have that in an yearly schedule/2 years dev time. Fucking 10 seconds attention span autist.

lots of characters to bounce off

they will never do a remake of this

Resident Evil 5 and 6 are impossible to remake because of the multiplayer focus

What? Multiplayer games are impossible to remake? What are you talking about?

This. Based Capcom realized we needed a break. Once we're ready, then based Capcom will be too, and they'll released a much needed new game in their franchise. Based Capcom takes the psychological wellbeing of their loyal fans into consideration.

companies don't do remakes of unsuccessful products anon, it's just basic business

RE4>REmake>RE2>RE3>RE8>RE7>RE5>>>DEmake3<DEmake2<<<<<<DEmake4

Just make it singleplayer, it'll be the first RE game where you control a bunch of characters.

i'm in a bad mood so I won't explain
just think anon, you can do it

8 over 7

decent bait, almost fell for it

7 sucked ass with its lame story, forced le heckin evin meme man Jack, and 2 enemy types

You're literally room temperature IQ if you think otherwise

still better than van helsing 8

Nguuuhhhh le remake le remaster old good new bad

They did yearly releases with the first 2 nu remakes and 3 sucked hard as a result

You sound like someone who's tried to suck his own cock on multiple occasions

projecting much?

n-n-NO U!!

videogame discussion

brings up sucking own dick out of nowhere

not projecting

You sound really mad

You sound like someone who's tried to suck his own cock on multiple occasions

I feel like they could shit out games faster if they focused more on horror rather than WHOOOA MONSTERS, ACTION TIME!

RE9 naming too hard

Resident Evil Village team is cooking something, I would say Resident Evil 9. If it's the finale for the series, it's no wonder if they are iterating and reiterating it.

If it's the finale for the series,

lmao
this cash cow is never getting rest

Village flopped

wat

Chris and everyone else is gonna get old eventually. They can't sell gilf Jill to normies.

Barry, where's Barry?

Village ends with teasing more biological warfare

Looks like they're going to have to do ANOTHER soft reboot

Impossible, I know, but I wish death upon nu-RE. it is nothing like the gems from the past and actively ignored and bastardizes them through these soulless remakes

They're working on IX, they teased it in that new RE4 Remake video.

Claire lowkey reminds me of Boxxy.

After REmake 3 I don't want them touching another RE game. 4 was a fluke.

That or a Devil May Cry crossover.

Well DMC was supposed to be another RE game until a lot happened that resulted in Tony Redgrave to become Dante and have his own series.

But in all honesty? They should make a new RE game set in Japan on some private island with enemies based off or named after yokai.

Also a tactical JRPG spin-off where you control a band of sentient B.O.W.s and you have to fight through both humans and hostile B.O.W.s.

You scrounge equipment and money to buy more equipment, evolve new powers and abilities (along with improving them further), go on treasure hunts for unique items to sell or use, uncover secrets that would explain the situation you and the place you are in are and the events that led to it all (as well as allowing you to unlock unique mutations), take part in situations where your choices decide the ending and even what bosses you meet during your playthroughs.

All while maintaining your group's humanity (and some situations might end with your B.O.W.s having to be put down by you if they loose their sense of self and this would also impact the ending).

Okay I am thinking, they are taking extra time for this release because they are refactoring their code to support multiplayer

Capcom has no clue where to go now with the series

Which is exactly where they were after RE3 and again after RE6 and 9 is going to be another soft reboot. Every single time Capcom has to introduce actual consequences into the series they reboot it.

Ye, two good remakes don't make a good company.

I feel like it would be fine if they just treated it like an anthology series. Like the first few games being Umbrella, Raccoon, Chris/Leon/Jill/Claire, etc. Then the next section be a completely new story, cast, monsters, etc all while keeping it separate. That way they can actually be more creative with the stories and not worry about having to tie it to existing characters/story.

I mean what would another reboot even look like? The shooter REs are still fine visually and mechanically and i don't think the full on puzzle-based horror style would bring in the sales they want. For the setting of Resident Evil you don't have that many choices. Over the shoulder shooter or first person, smaller segmented areas or open world. And we've had both. What could work would be another spin off like ORC or Revelations to tide over the audience for a couple years and wait for new market trends to be established.

I'm fine with any of the cameras but by keeping chapters completely separate, they could finally go all out with the shit, like actual supernatural things, or ayylmaos or technoviruses, etc. This way they can keep part 1, "The Raccoon Saga" as the "bioweapons, lab experiments, rampant capitalism, zombies," etc. I wouldn't mind seeing a little newspaper article about the RC incident as like an easter egg(sort of like the Revelations book from Clive O'Brian in RE7), but leave all characters and actual story tie ins there.

But in truth, I also wouldn't mind maybe some lower end budget games again. I enjoyed both the Revs, and maybe making a low budget title in the same vein of like Tormented Souls could keep the old fans happy while they try out new approaches.

Probably still deciding if focusing on cvr, zero remake, 5r or 9

Pragmata is reX, humanity went to the moon to avoid the viruses and re characters can be cloned

Wtf was capcom thinking with aging characters in real time? So Rebecca did nothing in 20 years?

I've heard other companies say stuff like smaller spin offs, as long as they don't straight up go to mobile or f2p, damage the IPs reputation. Since CoD4, and especially after GTA5, it has become increasingly difficult to get smaller games of established IPs made because publishers only want those mega AAAs that make a billion in revenue.

I think Capcom is not going to bring back any established characters with 9. The Ethan story is now at a point where, continuing it, would put the series into the far future with BOW outbreaks being dime a dozen and there are like a hundred different mutants.

And continuing the RC survivors story also comes with way too much baggage for their liking which is how we ended with up all those soft reboots in the first place.

The most likely case would be going full sci fi Dead Space style or some kind of alternate timeline or completely unrelated spin off.

All the new characters they keep trying to introduce are fucking lame in comparison to the original bunch. The only decent characters they came up with were Sheva in 5 and Piers in 6

I liked RE7 more than 8 but can we get back to zombies now? Demon possession is scary but that's not RE. Werewolves, vampires, and magneto really aren't RE. RE8 seemed like it was planned with REmake4 assets in mind, while REmake 2 and 3 used RE7 assets sparingly. I enjoyed the setting of 3 with running through a city in chaos and the hospital at night but what the fuck was up with the plagas type head suckers?

Can’t remake RE 5 because niggers

Can’t make RE 9 because trannies

Why is crapcom so gay

It's going to be March of next year.

30th anniversary of RE

No dev will launch anything relevant from April-July because of GTA VI
