Why didn’t Khazan sell when WuKong sold? It’s not about souls fatigue, but simply graphics

I actively avoid anything attached to nexon

Mogged by ai limit

I only bought Wukong to piss off faggots on twitter and here, didn't even play it for more than an hour.

Because 99% of wukongs sales were from china

That's pretty sad

kek I did too. Hope China blows americans and japs out of the market.

khazan is not chinese, it depended on western market

having disposable income is sad

Just get a job, retard. It's not a big deal.

Khazan didn't market well enough, didn't get enough streamers to play it. Kind of a shame since it was actually a great game

Why didn’t Khazan sell when WuKong sold?

The preview material of Khazan looked kinda lame whereas WuKong trailers looked fucking awesome
After Khazan released it got kind of a middling reception so it didn't spread based on word of mouth either

First 15 minutes of Wukong

This is awesome, I'm in

First 15 minutes if Khazan

Anime Dark Souls, I'm out

bad art style and character design
most people dont want to play as a half naked anime dude

Too hard for casuals

Didn't market well enough+loaded the early game with extremely strong filter bosses.

can't wait for project overkill

it was marketed well everybody knew about it, just no once cared because they thought it looked indie.

Literal goycattle.

have to pick one game to play

choose ai limit

zero regrets

Also same reason COTW flopped

Anime artstyle probably turned some people off. Wukong had a bit more marketing I think.
Majority of Wukong sales were in China where you can argue it's a very established/popular IP and whilst technically Khazan is based on an IP, I don't think it had that same level of "have to play this because it's _" that Wukong would have had with chinks.
Wukong is pretty easy, as far as Souls-likes go, if you even consider it one. It's pretty accessible. Khazan is probably one of the harder ones that I've played, at least in the sense that there is very limited ways to cheese it.

china

goy

retard. Japs started becoming woke and are censoring their games and including LGBT bullshit, they deserve the same fate of western gaming industry.

Korean slop

Graphics/visual design & marketing are the only things that determine a game's success. Nothing else matters.

Koreans clearly don't understand the appeal of a berserker/barbarian.
If he's a fencer, sure pretty boy is fine. Barbarians should be rugged and primal. I don't want my barbarian character looking like he just got out of a Korean plastic surgery clinic.

he's an established character from a different game this one is based on.

the Chinese decided to make Wukong a point of national pride, and there are a lot of Chinese
the Koreans weren't impressed by a gookslop without cute girls to gamble on, I guess

Why didn’t Khazan sell when WuKong sold?

Buying and playing a KOREAN game with a male character

Not a chance, nigga.

I really enjoyed khazan. It was more darksiders than dark souls, I wnjoyed the flexibility of being able to swap between roll slop, parry slop and block slop

WuKong was made and mostly bought by China. Khazan is Korean and nowhere near as big as China or India. Most of the world's population are Chinese and Indians.

I think it was unironically tuned a little too hard for the souls market. The playerbase has weird psychology where they won't play on lower difficulty and afaik there isn't any way to break the game and end bossfights in like 10 seconds with a giant pile of buffs. You just have to actually git gud and interface with the fight for a reasonable chunk of time. That's going to filter a good 40% of the souls fanbase regardless of skill level.

I skipped it because of backlog priority. I am looking forward to playing it because it looks sick, but I'm content waiting a while for a good sale. Especially with nightreign coming soon. I'll probably get around to Khazan around the fall or winter sales.

The demo was pretty bad

If you trust 3rd party sites then even just the US sales of Wukong alone sold more than twice as much as Khazan sold total on Steam.

Wukong had the backing of an entire bug hive. That's why it sold so much and was immediately forgotten about with 0 industry impact. Khazan is just another soulslike so it kinda came and went without much fuss

afaik there isn't any way to break the game and end bossfights in like 10 seconds with a giant pile of buffs

There is a mix of gear and skills for 2 of the weapons that let you wipe bosses in under a minute, especially with the Epic versions you can get in NG+. But to get those skills you need to be at least 3/4 of the way through the game so most people that would need that cheese to beat the game probably can't get that far in anyway.

I don't know much about Khazan but I avoided it specifically because I'm turned off by the art style. The cel shaded / comic book illustrator thing doesn't do it for me.

Also in the promo material, it looked like a lot of enemies were super generic lizard men.

there are too many easily accessible cheap games out there, the cost of new games outweighs the FOMO that got people to buy them in the past

looks at africa

population 6 billion

Outside of maybe a couple, most of Khazan's basic enemies are fairly generic. There's soldier dudes, lizard dudes, and goblin dudes.

People raved about Khazan but to me it looks like such generic souls shit
Where's the hook? Why is it special?

It's fun

Why didn’t Khazan sell when WuKong sold?

Too hard, unironically

I don't play Nexon games lol

Story is bad, lore is bad, setting is bad and the maps are boring. I liked the gameplay well enough but it can't make up for everything else.

you should have bought it for me I wanted to be a monkey but not enough to pay for it lmao

People can't fucking afford rent, they're not buying every $60 piece of shit that's coming down the pipe.

Guga based

I wanna play the monke game but I refuse to buy games unless they're on sale

Same kek

He's a zoomer he wouldn't know that

The animations are pretty neat if you like flashy action games its kino.
WuKong sold because it was mandated Social Credits points if you bought it as a Chinese, most people who bought it were ........ CHINESE .

mandated Social Credits points if you bought it as a Chinese

cringe american propaganda.

most people who bought it were ........ CHINESE

millions of non-chinese bought it also

134gb.

Black Desert Assets and a Monkey Reskin.

Boss Fight The Game with least originality.

Fucking hell they could've at least asked that developer of Blade and Soul do it instead of Black Desert, they could've made a much more fun kung fu game out of it instead of just avoid the red zone simon says game.

It was mostly just Chinese living overseas and botted accounts hahahaha.

I liked "early" Dungeon & Fighter. How it felt like you were just a strong adventurer solving incidents in an unfathomably large and complex world. Occasionally you'd kill a heavily weakened apostle like Lotus or Delezie, but otherwise you weren't really that important. There were way more powerful warriors out there, like G.S.D.

IMO, D&F peaked around the mid 2010s. Great Metastasis was the beginning of the end.

DFO has gigachads too.

Why didn’t Khazan sell

It's only an OK game and they made the mistake of releasing a demo that showed the game is only OK. I'll get it when it is 20 bucks because it was kinda fun, but not at the price they're asking.

There are more subcontinentals alive today in just India than in all of Subsaharan Africa. If you include Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh, the subcontinentals outnumber blacks globally.

The first game to reach 1 billion sales is going to be from China or India and it'll be bought for patriotic reasons.

Mogged doesn't even begin to describe it
An indie budget game that actually copies the real good stuff from dark souls (level design, atmosphere, story) outsold the corporate boss rush slop that was supposed to overshadow it

GTA: India will do it
trust the plan

GTA: India

will be a musical

yuropoors shamelessly slurping china's dick

again

but dnf is one of the biggest ips in China
might as well be a chinese franchise
