In my experience many ppl had a switch just to collect dust after a few weeks. Half a year after its release, when I commented about wanting to play some smash a fren just lend me his. 3 years later I had 3 different switches each for 2-3 weeks to play the very few titles that interested me before returning them. Most of those were sold off by now. Can't wait to lend me a switch 2 next spring to play... Or maybe not.

Think about it logically. Switch doesn't have any of the heavy hitters. There is no baldurs gate 3, GTA V or VI, Expedition 33 and so on.. it's just too weak for the games which are actually relevant. While it does have Minecraft and Fortnite nobody sane is going to play those on Switch instead of PC.
The first party Nintendo games are popular but they have no legs. The fact of the matter is nobody has Switch as their primary gaming platform it's just something they also own to play a little bit of Mario and then collect dust for the rest of the year
