The lack of a mini-map makes this game tedious. The developer's criticism that players only look at the mini-map is not true. In Final Fantasy Rebirth, I only used it for orientation; otherwise, I admired the scenery

bro just keep running

zoomer thread

muh minimap

muh quest journal

muh hud compass icons

gtfouttahere

yea, it's a legitimate flaw, albeit a minor one.
IMO, it just underscores how underpaid this dev crew was.

The developer's criticism that players only look at the mini-map is not true.

No it 100% is true

Dark Souls, one of the most normie franchises around, had no minimap and yet I’ve never heard anyone saying it should have one. Maybe the level design in E33 is just nonsense?

Zoomers wouldn't be able to reach the other side if a street without Google Maps.

Dark Souls came out in 2012.

Only place that needed a mini map was the overworld so I wouldnt have to keep hitting a fucking map button.

The actual areas are so fucking small and linear if you need a map for them you're actually fucking retarded

How were we supposed to know?

How do you survive the real world?

All the zoomers that glaze ER started with Dark Souls 3, no minimap.

7keks are brainlets...

But the mapless areas have extremely simple layouts that you can map in your head.

Levels in this game genuinely look AI generated. Like you have to be genuinely autistic to think a human made most of these and not a machine.

fuck mini maps

Dark souls is an action game. You're always in the world. In E33 you get pulled out into a turn based battle for a minute or two and then you have to re-orient yourself once you're back in the world

Most levels are super lineal and detours are optional.
What do you need a map for?

The game's areas are ridiculously small compared to those in FFVIIR—just tiny corridors. The lack of a mini-map is specifically meant to justify the "tightness" of the world, as the developers themselves stated in an interview. There's no "open world"; at most, there's a single fork in the path, but everything else is completely linear. You always go straight, climb, descend, and reach the boss.

minimap

bruh even sinister cave (that pitch black place, mazelike appearance) was piss easy to navigate. you could dumb it down to a dick shaped layout, with one ball on each side and a split dick in the middle that goes both ways. why the fuck would you need a minimap?

The game has a compass. As someone so navigationally retarded who got lost in a shopping mall I still beat the game.

Get smarter then. You are the reason we need yellow paint on stuff

I never even noticed the lack of minimap until seeing the people complaining online.

How are people getting lost when there are literally giant lights that guide you along the main path of each zone?

What game actually does need a mini map?
Some of the halo levels were fucking horrible without a minimap

This is legitimately a bizarre looking contraption and I don't fault zoomers one bit for not instinctively knowing how to use one.

It's a clamp with a bladed disk, it's obvious after holding it for a few seconds how it would work.

If you can't memorize a simple spatial configuration, you have other things to worry about.
Like being an absolute brainlet retard for example.

They should bring back the giant glowing lines that led along the correct path to the destination.

simple levels with one main path plus a handful of side branches/loops

main path is extremely telegraphed with things like lights, lamps, or glowing paint on the ground

obvious, distinct visual landmarks in every major area

can freely teleport between checkpoints in an area

"wahh no minimap i'm lost"

Fuck off

Its an excuse for laziness. Pure and simple.

Do you lack object permanency?

It's true, having no mini map sucks because the environments look the same.

N-no they don't!

I don't mean one dungeon looks similar to another. I mean inside a particular dungeon, the corridors and paths all look the same. I am certain that I'm not alone in having traversed the same place of a dungeon several times, because of the lack of mini map and because of the incentive to explore to get journals/items/rare nevrons to fight.

The game is literally one way forward why the fuck do you need a minimap for, are you fucking retarded?
Holy shit

anon needs his quest marker

lemme guess, you're confused by a lack of yellow paint, too

Does anyone know what's the deal with Fallen Leaves and the Scavenger boss?

funny how one of the main complaints about the game is that is way too linear, and another common complaint is that theres no minimap

There wasn't a single moment where I needed a minimap.

Literally every worthwhile IQ test in the world is based around pattern recognition and spacial manipulation. The lack of a minimap forces you to look around and use landmarks (of which there are tons, especially lights and colours designes specifically to guide you) and your own perception of the area.

If you have ever complained about needing or even wanting a minimap in e33, you are simply low iq. This is an objective fact.

they forgot to put it in or didnt bother

The landmarks are generic UE5 rocks and trees. The game needed a minimap or actually unique objects.

That's because level design is trash, it doesn't make any geographical sense and it doesn't have points of interest. The minimap is a solution to dogshit game design, but the underlying problem is that they should have just made better levels

CEO said he doesn't want one because when games have one people are looking at the minimap 24/7 instead of using the environment like in Souls game

You are low iq, I'm sorry.

High IQ enough to beat this flawed game.

While I think the game is good and I was able to navigate to the end of areas, a map would've helped when returning to scavenge for any missed items after the game ends

But still not high enough to navigate a simple corridor with plenty of obvious signs telling you where to go. Would yellow paint do it for you or is that still not enough?

he shouldve made the environments actually interesting if he wanted the players to look around then

I lived in two large cities and knew how to walk in both like they were the palm of my hand. Real places have real defining features and can be told apart. UE5 slop does not. This shit sucks to navigate in.

I left school at 12 and probably have an unironic IQ of 85 - 90. I had no issues navigating the game. You have no excuse.

is it possible to build monoco to one-shot simon in phase 3 with his remaining hp? i'm fine with the other two phases but didn't build sciel or monoco at all, wondering if i can just instant cheese phase 3

That’s like one path in a level the fuck you talking about?

The real issue is a lack of minimap COMBINED with the fact that the inisible wall edges of the levels look EXACTLY THE SAME as shit that you should be able to jump on.

If the invisible walls were sheer cliffs that were obviously walls, there'd be no real issue. The issue arises because the invisible walls look identical to all of the other random terrain in the level, making a lack of minimap very apparent.

The developer's criticism that players only look at the mini-map is not true

Yes it is

It wouldn't need a minimap if the environments weren't just a vomit of pajeet assets everywhere. It's honestly one of the worst game worlds I've ever seen in a "jrpg"

they either did it by accident or on purpose

Genius take.

Idk if any anon ever mentioned it but there is clearly a one white nevron kill limit for the 100 lumina point reward, right? I got the reward even after killing the scuba diver.

The thing is what the devs actually intended was for you to use the one kill leeway for the cemetery nevron that asks you to kill it. The game does not check the specific nevron you killed. This game really is French coded.

Just use your eyeballs

The areas in this game aren't that big and most side paths loop around back to the main path.
There's no need for one whatsoever.
Now no option to retry battles after I know I'm cooked from the boss' first turn? That's my biggest complaint.

Load save

i'd like navigating some of the areas myself a lot more if they TURNED DOWN THE FUCKING VOLUMENTRIC FOG

Just change weapons in front of the boss, the game saves with you right in front of him

The developer's criticism that players only look at the mini-map

based developer
i always posted that opinion on Anon Babble

no it's not, its okay to get lost or run in circles for 2 to 5 minutes, you're supposed to get lost and stuck in video games

you WILL develop your spacial recognition

The thing about no mini-map, is that older games didn't need them since you had a really good view of the dungeon and it was easy to not get lost unless it was intentionally made to be a maze or something. Clair Obscur's camera is so fucking zoomed in that you can barely even see the surroundings, which makes the dungeons harder to navigate than it needs to be. I used a mod with a higher fov plus a farther and centered camera and that alone made dungeons way more manageable, not to mention prettier since you can actually see shit.

I wonder if you even bothered to think about what you're typing. Needing giant lights to navigate you isn't any better than just having a minimap, it means the areas are so fucking shit that they still need to guide you SOMEHOW.

Kek fuck minimaps
