First off: I am having a blast with this game so far. Lots of things to love, even/especially as a fan of the original 3DS game. This is just a nitpick that's really bugging me.

I'm RPing as a girl, right? So far most of the starting outfits for each life have been pretty gender-neutral, which is fine (and, imo, much better than the gender-exclusive sets in OG Fantasy Life). But there are a couple of Novice outfits (Hunter and Carpenter) that leave the chest/breast area completely exposed.

I'm not picky, I don't need modeled breasts or anything to make it "look more feminine" (although, desu, that option would be really nice). I just want the chest area covered up so I can RP my girl without the discomfort of her chest being exposed. Especially since these are the default starter outfits for those lives.

Once I have more variety later in the game I'll just wear a more modest top as a cosmetic so I won't have to worry about it. But in the beginning of the game like this, it's really jarring to have some of the best armor be, cosmetically, male-only.

I'm playing with a controller and everywhere where the game tells you which button does what it has the keyboard layout. Only when there is input on my controller it changes towards it. So for example

also your mount is gated via a resource earned by making niggas happy, you have to unlock things like more storage space, a bigger house, certain shops opening in cities, which is sorta lame
but it's still on the go and enjoyable to me

I´m glad to finally play some Fantasy Life again...

I like some additons of QOL like the auto job change and so on...
But there are 2 things that irk me hard...

1: No more perfect swing mechanics for wood and ore gathering...
In the 3DS title you could time your hits for a smoother more efficent gather mechanic. Now it feels like just spamming until low and then finishing of with big hit. So clunky...

2: Mini games feel clunky and more rng... It doesn´t help that the gradeing is overlapping the to do list. If finished the task, the next should be displayed beforehand so that you can prepare.

3DS was by noway the best iteration. But you had more control and "rythem" which made it more satisfying.

3: Seemingly no overal ep? Now you need to grind and invest in every life which is honestly a step backwards.

I hope that the crafting won´t hamper my fun to much... we´ll see.

Last night I purchased FLi on my Xbox. I was planning wait for the switch version but I couldn’t wait lol. So far it reminds me so much of the original by the structure of the game. I noticed some people didn’t like the camera angle but that too reminds me of the first game so I feel right at home. So far I have also noticed combat is too easy but then I remember I got the deluxe bundle with the better sword . It has met my expectations so far and can’t wait to play more!

You have to understand that some people just can't perfect guard well let alone constantly, and ranged unit with self-healing seems like a slow and safe choice.

This game will be totally forgotten when Rune Factory 6 releases.

the self healing is worthless though. To swap to it and cast takes roughly twice as long as to use a potion. The real use of it is when you unlock Healing Forest and it becomes an AoE, for your party.

Same goes for some of the ones that require mining or something, they recommend 650 sometimes but you can do it with much less if you know what you're doing.

you need good quality for 1 skill roll and great/top for 2 skill rolls, so yes you need to do these by hand

What does that "good or better" condition mean? In the crafting menu there were three different rarities(?) I could craft the item at, but they were different, there was no "good" among those.

Its the crown on top of the items icon, the better you do at the minigame the higher the quality and thus the crown

do b etter at the crafting minigame (finish with more "turns" left) and you'll make a better item

Some recipes can be made at different qualities is what you have described (ordinary, fine, notable, supreme, and idk the last one), you unlock more later, but that is not what it is asking for.
When you craft the item it says "good" "great" "perfect" at the end and you get a good/great/top item respectively with a silver/gold/red & gold crown on the icon

any item you make can be good, great or top - the more excellents you get the better, and perfect guarantees a top item

you can have basic, fine notable items with these 3 qualities as well

A Top Quality weapon early on can easily have about 50-60 more attack than the basic bitch Good quality

I have deduced that there are four places to get Strangelings from, 3 of which are exclusive to Ginormonraosm.
A) Shrines, obviously.
B) Completing monster village questlines, all of which are 3 quests lone.
C) Guaranteed chests with specific strangelings in Ginormosia caves/dungeons.
D) Finally, RNG strangeling chests can drop every time you beat a boss-type monster or gathering point. However, these ones are finite. After collecting all of the RNG chest strangelings, the chests will give you goddess flowers instead.

Camrea is annoying but other than that, fine. Rebinding dodge to RMB makes combat more comfy.

Mercen upgraded ultimate is ass, it knocks monster out of impact area while most of the damage come from the explosions inside the said area after

it gets harder towards then end but I haven't ran into anything that is genuinely hard yet, but I am also a ways away from the end and there is a lot of optional stuff left.
fighting lvl 80 frajeel at the end of colosseum was quite difficult, hes very relentless and dodging all his attacks is very hard, but you can just get rezzed so its kind of like w/e even if you keep dying

the first game had difficult medium difficult end game content and the dlc end game stuff was quite hard

wonder how hard could it be to mod this game, maybe something like giving enemies damage multipliers or something like that to make it more challenging

i did this with just barely over 1k smithing, i had gold hammers that rolled blacksmith tool/metal tool crafting (one had both) that let me make perfect crystal hammers until i had 3 with metal weapon crafting for myself and 2 crafter npcs, and that was enough to blitz the minigame

inspecting the material list on the recipe tells you where they come from, provided you've visited the area im guessing (which you probably will have done once you get these recipes)
i got lucky with spawns and got 2 legendary challenges to pop pretty quickly, the one diamond you need also wasn't too bad
of course, the 3rd horn i needed took fucking forever to the point i found out if you unlock area rank 4 you can just cycle between rank3/rank4 at the tower until the legendary challenge spawns because each cycle resets the challenges around the map

I went a step further and went apprentice in every life, since the past island is where all of your life quests are focused, though it was always annoying that there's a portion in the capital section of the map you can't access until you progress to a certain point, and the quests that require you defeat certain enemies as a specific life would often point to more enemies in that area when the ones outside that section weren't enough to finish the quest.
