in most games crafting and harvesting materials is just clicking something and collecting it, here it's a couple minigames. Chopping a giant tree down is harder than fighting a dragon. All of it is stat checks though crafting better tools is basically the solution to every problem in the game.

it happens when a monster gets too the limit of the aggro range from their spawn location. Normally it should only happen when you are running past things. they de-aggro go into an invincible state and presumably de-flag as enemies so your buddies will ignore them and follow you. It's also useful to reset aggro when doing combat challenges since most fight areas have mixed enemies that need different lives.

unfortunately sometimes you can push an enemy to that aggro limit and it will happen whether you are fighting them or not. The worst case was I was fighting the quetzal and it got knocked down the little ledge, shit got half its health back before it TP back to the middle and I could fight it again.

I legit got to the Colosseumand backed out to go back to Ginormosia because I'm making so much good shit now.
I haven't had this much fun doing random shit in ages.

Eventually there's ways to get ones for crafting on them but I'm not sure if you have to force that through stickers or not.

They're pretty much only talking about the island village creation part. the comparison makes more sense if you played NH because it basically just aped a ton of that game's mechanics. The town building pretty much only exists to recruit and level up the different NPC helpers you find throughout the game as well as some farming challenges are required to do at your base camp.

Hunter is just, by far, the most fun class where you actually have to make somewhat meaningful decisions in combat.

While other classes are basically

attack

heavy attack

charged attack

buff/debuff/heal then back to one of the above three

as a Hunter all your options feel different.

default attack is a strong projectile but you get absolutely fucked in close range

instead of a heavy attack, your alternate attack is a fuckoff backstep that hits in a fan shape (but consumes SP) so it's meant to get you out of trouble at a cost

your bread and butter charged skill (arrow rain) requires the most positioning out of any of the other classes' charged attacks and leave you the most open, but feels satisfying to use and is great for status effects

your reward for having to at least pay a modicum of attention to the combat (provided you aren't overleveled) is a class that's more fun and deals more damage than the other unga bunga ones

I wish mage was good but so far its spells feel samey and I don't like how the alternate spell options are just buffs and heals. but I haven't hit Master with mage yet so idk

"Recommended" is more like "Level you need to be to make it trivial" if you're level 20+ with a full party and decent gear you could handle it

I haven't been following this game's prerelease stuff but was a fan of the original, any reason to choose steam over Switch or Switch 2 versions? Any multiplayer or is it fine to pirate and not miss out on stuff?

PC is just better, future-proofing for modding, playerbase more likely to last etc.
If you have a Steam Deck you basically get the Switch experience since it looks and runs great on it

combat ones usually just stats and skills for damage, sp regen is nice too and some other stuff, go pretty broad
from crafting ones I think XP is the best, extra effects like better at doing X are really strong but hard to get to so its kind of like next best but also a lot of points, the actual crafting stat is pretty much always maxed since it lets u make better stuff, and then minigame time is the best for getting consistent excellents in the minigame vs hold or tap, and skills are pretty much the worst.
for gather xp is the best again, skills is great, drop rate and other unique stuff is pretty good, I put a lot of points in the actual skill number proficiency thing as well but it isn't that great, the alternative is SP which doesn't take many points but also isn't that big of a boost

it depends on the life as well as some have a lot of benefits to using certain things over and over vs others

yeah it's pretty fun. just got to Ginormosia. seems like no one has ripped and uploaded the OST yet, I wanted to listen to the theme that plays when you pick your first Life again. so far my only complaint is that I dislike how you can craft anything at any bench, I'd prefer each table be specialized/themed so the crafting UI is less cluttered per table.

because you only get a set amount of actions which you can see top right - if you use all of them up and still can't finish an item you're too early for it, get some better tools, higher stats ect

you can skip them until you have master rank blacksmith and carver
once you do you can make really good tools for fishing and just skip like 90% of it through raw gearscore and for cooking you should be strong enough at this point to just blitz exclusively the things you need for quests and then make a few higher tier things and it will have caught up in like 1hr
going deep in a few key lifes and then bringing the others up is way faster and way more effective

it was the tutorial quest to make oak lumber though, maybe it was supposed to happen

There's a complaint like this for every PC game, even when it specifically has it built in. One of the issues with PC users is that everyone has a different set up and specs, so things that aren't actually problems or bugs get labelled as such. The same thing happened to AI Limit even though Dualsense and DS4 work flawlessly there.

the RANGED CLASS has iframes yes which you never need to abuse because you aren't in MELEE RANGE you MONKEY.
Objectively speaking iframes on melee attacks are much more ripe for abuse than iframes on ranged.
