I then realized that it gave the same answer regardless of which vtuber name I gave. So I'm pretty sure that answer was wrong.

I then tried something you can Google: I asked it to list the names from a group of powers from a manga and it got it wrong. I sympathized with how, but I think even a child would've gotten it right.

Maybe random knowledge questions are bad, so tried math. I wanted it to separate a ternary plot into segments such that each segment was equally probable for a result to be in, since most possible values in a ternary plot end up around the same area (like a heat map). I don't know how to do this myself without half-assing it "by hand," so I thought AI could hel. It could not. I'm not sure it understood the question, although it kept acting like it did and apologizing.

I tried an easier math question (one of those things I probably should know how to do but don't): I gave it a bunch of values and asked it to sort them into groups such that the difference in total values between groups is minimized. I spent so much time trying to get it to do this for me and it just couldn't. It would sort one group in a way that seemed to make sense, then it phoned it in for the rest, just grouping them in the order I listed.

I decided to ask it a science question. I figured this might be one of those questions that exist out there, I just didn't know where. I asked it how it was that the different elements on the periodic table all have different atomic numbers but are also different from each other in such other drastic ways. It feels arbitrary to me, like magic. It agreed (of course) but couldn't answer my question. It kept arguing in circles and eventually implored me to use Chat-GPT Pro or whatever.

I dislike AI being used to replace creativity. Art suffers primarily from this, but that does not mean you cannot be creative with AI.

However, video games and AI is largely full of potential - with the exception of online multiplayer being dubious. Particularly in regards to replacing PLAYERS with AI.
Games like Fortnite already use AI to populate servers with fake players - these days you're lucky to be in a Fortnite lobby with 10 actual people. It's generally disliked and will largely get worse as time goes on.
In 10 years time, competitive online games will be dead.

Games that use AI to enhance NPCs will improve vastly. Games designed around AI will be exceptional.

People who are creative will be creative without AI, and nothing will get in their way. AI will speed up the process, but they would reach their goal without AI.

There's a common falacy I see that Idea Guys have in that they earnestly believe that AI is going to enable them to create the BIG IDEA they've been dreaming of - when in reality they had neither the drive, motivation, nor talent required to bring their alleged exceptional idea to frution. All AI does now is expidites the process in which they quickly learn just how dogshit their ideas are.

For a real world example of this happening WITHOUT AI, look at game devs who keep shitting out god awful games that no-one wants but allegedly has a "passionate team of creators" behind it. Games like Marathon or Concord.
Until now, this only happens when the stars align and we get those situations. Now we're going to have vast swathes of mediocre Idea Guys using cutting edge technology to cut corners and half-ass their way to a "finished product" that's "good enough"- because when you put too much faith in AI, you will end up with nothing but manufactured slop.

Yes it does. Don't let the other anon tell you otherwise. AI helps you understand and see things a bit more clearer. It can help you with so many types of creative blocks as to help you keep your creative ball rolling. To help you explore so many concepts that you could only dream of a few years ago. But you can have an assistant and bounce your ideas around and understand yourself and your ideas a bit better.
AI can help you keep your ideas on track, imagine to yourself how much you would have liked to do a scene or a scenario but you couldn't quite get things right, but now you can get a rough draft of your idea and work with it.

i've always looked at AI like it's the new photoshop and how there were certainly artists back in the 90s then who thought it was going to replace them, and for the ones that didn't adapt, it did
this is no different, except it's funnier to me since every single artist these days uses computer assisted means of making their art whether it's a digital draw pad or touching up in an effects program or whatever, will still bitch about AI as if it's not the same thing
