Geralt was old, slow from an injury, and had to prepare meticulously for each fight because if not he'd die. Sure, they will come up with some plot convenience why Ciri doesn't have her powers or will gradually unlock them but is still lame and takes away from the gritty, dark fantasy aspect of Witcher. Geralt's magic was incredibly low key and was one part of his entire toolkit including traps, bombs, potions, oils, poisons, etc. He felt like a true hunter. In addition I do not believe that they will approach Ciri the same way they did Geralt. Geralt was constantly discriminated against because he was a Witcher. If Ciri is discriminated against there is a 95% chance it will be "because woman" and it'll just turn into some lame female empowerment thing when Witcher was never like that.

I personally believe Witcher "4" never should have happened. They should have made a new Witcher game starring a Create-A-Witcher set some time away from the damages. Let you pick your school. Let you pick your style. Let you customize the character. Even then they could let you make a female Witcher if they really, really needed it in the game. Ciri is just the worst of both worlds.
