When did you grow out of your Achievements phase?
When did you grow out of your Achievements phase?
Cheevos were always xbot trash so I never got in to them in the first place.
i never cared about achievements 2bh
Never, cheevos/trophies are Anon Babble culture, you need to go back to r/Nintendo, r/NintendoSwitch.
Never had one
Sometime around 2011ish.
When achieving the 100% achievement began including a bunch of chores

cheevos/trophies are Anon Babble culture
found the election tourist zoomzoom
When I realized that I purchased a game I didn't like for the second time because its achievements had oddly numbered gamerscore values.
after i stopped using my 360
even then I almost never went out of my way to complete a game unless I had a couple of achievements left after my playthrough, but games like assassin's creed (all of them) that just hid a bunch of collectable around the map and asked you to get them all turned me off from ever caring too hard
When microshart stopped giving you "money" for getting them
They never made any sense to me. Unless the reward is something in-game they only ever amount to checklists. Doing everything a game has to offer should reward you in game, not just have it be a checklist.
Never had one.
I'll do all the side content if I really like a game and it's not a massive grind, but that's about it.
In like 2008, when every time I booted up Shadowrun on the 360, there were always 2 niggers in the Powerstation basement farming the Strangle achievement. My friend and I would purposely hunt these faggots down, or even teamkill if they didn't get the hint.
I never had a phase where I actually cared about them.
Never had one, why would anyone care about checking off an imaginary list of bullshit that nobody cares about and gives you nothing in return? Autism at its higest.
Remember when he and his friends gang raped a woman?
All the tourists outing themselves itt
Jade wasn't raped she was just trying to market her game
You need to go back
Stupid gaijins don't deserve to get 100% and shogi is their utlimate filter
I am one of them
achievement references online play
servers have been offline since 2015
I grew out of cheevos after the ps360 era but I grew back into them when I got into pc gaming. My goal is to get 69 perfect games on steam (currently at 21)
I still haven't, began in 2008 when I was 16, and I still go for cheevos, just got the second son platinum yesterday. irl not doing to bad, its not all i do
ty for reading my blog
entire thread of people unable to comprehend completing optional objectives for fun
Never. Im still 4 jokers from getting Completionist++ in Balatro
it goes the other way too. There is a disturbing amount of people who feel obligated to getting every achievement. It is no longer fun, it's a job that you don't get paid for.
lot of gamerscorelets itt
Developer provides challenges aimed to the completionist crowd.
Boring
Engaging on brainrot Anon Babble bait woke DEI threads
That's the real shit
It is no longer fun, it's a job that you don't get paid for.
They still do, it's just baked into gamepass now with the rewards thing.
Achievements are fine when it's for shit you would have done anyway.
beat game on hard
Cool.
beat optional boss
Alright.
kill 1000000 enemies when you'll only kill maybe 20000 in a normal playthrough
No, fuck you.
i can only have fun if the game checks off an imaginary box
Nobody said that though. Completionism is just an extra challenge for us. Its preferable to spend time actually playing games than engaging on off topic garbage on a video games board.
I never cared for achievements at all until retroachievements became a thing
turns out I just don't like when achievements influence game design and act as a replacement for content
fuck whoever did the achievements for FF9
Most idiotic take imaginable. Surely someone who decides to complete optional objectives would have already decided that the main game is fun enough to warrant that? What's your fucking point anyway, that someone is having fun in the incorrect way? True retardation on display
that someone is having fun in the incorrect way
yes, it means you have autism if you don't have fun in the objectively correct method (my way)
it means you have autism
thought that you would get 1000 points by just beating the game
second game I got was Ghost Recon with the "be a top 10 online leaderboard achievement"
more and more games have achievements that doing them would suck the fun out of the game like "do entire game with weapon A then weapon B"(ninja gaiden)
stopped caring
Near launch of the 360. Trophies are worse as a system I think.
And they are in no fucking way a "proof of skill"
I like achievements, but not as a bragging thing. I just like clearing checklists and having a thing that says I 100% the game even when I restart it.
I have one Platinum on my Playstation account....
Final Fantasy XV. I have no idea why. I was actively aiming for the Plat. I was jobless at the time I guess.
After i downloaded Steam Achievement Manager and realized achievements were as insignificant as flipping a 0 to a 1.
It depends on the game.
I have never 100% a game in my life.
I miss the 2000s mop top, bros
This.
I honestly have never really cared about achievements unless there's in game unlocks tied to them like in TF2. I won't bother to 100% a game unless I truly love it, and even then if the challenges for the achievement are a bunch of tedious bullshit I don't usually bother.
Sony doesn't have an equivalent to gamerscore. I got over trying for acheivements when I got my ps4pro back.
Don't get a playstation. It's better on xbox in every way. And better again on PC thanks to DLSS and the ability to lower resolution and raise every other setting.
