It would make losing the 50/50 feel not so terrible because the unit you got instead you might have also wanted, or it's character that's not completely fucking useless.
Because that's why getting 50/50'd sucks so much. Not only did you not get what you wanted and wasted a ton of pulls, you got a character that is actually good for nothing and will rot in your roster untouched forever.

Part of the issue is that she is just strong and responsible with nothing else going but to give exposition. They touch on the idea of her being competitive but only slightly. She likes to ride her bike and apparently is reckless with it, but this supposed reckless nature never shows itself.
And in spite of the supposed odds being against them she always seems in control, never vulnerable. This is the worst part because there is plenty of groundwork for her to be. Even one of the trailers touched on her having doubts. But she never really shows any in the game proper even once. Not asking for her to be Furina-level tragic but that she's a stone wall at all times works against her.
It really doesn't help that she's out of focus a lot when she isn't giving exposition or fighting. MHY made it no secret that their favorite Natlan character is Citlali, followed by Kachina and Ororon. And finally, she's a hag, and the Genshin side really doesn't seem to like hags. Xilonen also has no character because they didn't want to give her a chance to have one, and both she and Chasca were sidelined by Citlali in their own patches.
I disagree stoic characters like Chasca are more interesting and Citlali's story quest felt like the more important one compared to Mavuika's even with Xbalanque showing up.

Ororon tries to but ends up just a tool for the most interesting character Capitano who dies at the end. Chasca has some potential despite being a stoic but it isn't explored enough. And Citlali is too over the top and obnoxiously pushed at the expense of others.

I'm not gonna lie, I remember quitting for a long time starting around Sumeru, and it felt like Claymore characters in particular were getting fucked hard. Not sure if any of them between Mavuika ended up good though.
Chasca and Xilonen had interesting quests and they can be pretty funny without relying on an annoying mascots. Ororon and Ifa are probably my favourite as they have a solid dynamic and lore relevant stories. Varesa and Iansan show up too late and only get a tribe quest but the writers did nail their dynamic with the limited screen time they were given.
Kinich is probably the only boring one but that's not his fault he gets zero focus even in his own quest.

Navia is top tier, but the problem with claymores is mostly not there being available weapons with crit substats compared to other classes aside from serpent spine. Hell even the other bp claymore is complete dogshit nobody wants, Dehya's signature is for some reason top 4 rarest weapons in the game and Navia's is barely a stat stick.
