It's unplayable in the sense that games need more buttons that the gc controller has for example you can't use the controller playing splatoon because you need the extra buttons that the gc controller doesn't have but it's 100% usable for smash bros.

The camera plugs into the usb c slot on the console itself so you just know they only put the usb 2.0 slots on the dock for exactly that
