I taught myself to learn all the skills to make a game, programming, 3d art, animation, UI, etc. etc. so now that I can see that it can be done at the flick of a wrist...it's a bit demoralizing. I dislike it on principle but seeing as it's an inevitability of our present and future, unlike some of the other tech bubbles that promised to take over the world like NFTs, I think as a tool it's undeniably useful. My fear and bigger issue is that a lot of companies and CEO's out there think it's the end product. No, it is quite bad for that. You use reference to see what thinks really look like so that when you go to make a drawing or painting, you aren't just fudging everything based on how you sorta remember it looking. AI is basically that last part all the time, it only ever sort of looks like the think it's imitating.

AI would be a useful tool if it could scour the net for resources that artists could then use as reference or for learning purposes, but that's kind of the opposite of what AI actually does.
