As someone who's actually going to buy a physical copy MKW, Nintendo and the rest of industry shouldn't expect this to be the norm.

An $80 Assassin's Creed or $80 Sonic game will get laughed out of the room. An $80 Fable 4 or $80 Animal Crossing will get instantly ignored.

GTA6 might be one of the few games I would bother buying for $80.

You're wrong, at least for Europe. BOTW got it's price raised to 70€, putting it at the same price as the Switch 2 one because retailers are taking the piss to anyone that thought they could buy the original cheaper and buy the upgrade separately.
Also BOTW Switch 2 doesn't come with the DLC included so that's 20€ more, putting it at 90€, more expensive than Tears of the Kingdom. It's a fucking robbery.
