I got a screen protector for my switch 1 at launch, mostly due to hearing allegations of how the dock could scratch the screen, but in the 8 years that I've had it, it has spent 99.9% of its time in the dock, so for switch 2 I don't see a point in getting a screen protector

Mine was in the dock 100% of the time but I still installed a screen protector. When I sold it, it was like brand new and the buyer thought it was great that there was protection on it

They announced 3d All Stars for the anniversary 5 years ago and Mario 35. This time they'll probably have a new game ready and they also have the Super Mario World movie in Spring

They will run as before but any that had variable internal resolution or weren't reaching their frame rate cap or had loading issues may see slight improvements. These'll vary heavily between games, though.

Classic example I like to give is that PS4 games that never got a specific PS5 patch/upgrade work the same way, and because of that Gravity Rush 2, which had asset streaming issues if you were going REALLY fast in busy areas, has those issues basically disappear entirely if you play on PS5.

An example of a Switch game with no patch or upgrade for Switch 2 currently that I expect to have similar benefits is Xenoblade 2. It had variable internal resolution that really got low in some locations in portable mode. I expect that will be less of an issue on Switch 2.

Hard to say whether it'll necessarily be "docked performance" though.

It'd be such an insane addition. They're clearly avoiding certain games (Smash Bros 64 still not out, so I don't expect Melee will be added either, and no mainline Pokemon RPGs) which tells me anything that might have an audience for a port of some kind might not end up on the service, and I can see AC being one of those. AC also has the one flaw that it probably is tough to get working perfectly since you'd have emulation-within-emulation with the NES furniture items too.

SV are pretty okay. The framerate is shit, and there being no clear indicator for overworld shinies sucks, but it's a legitimately alright experience. Probably the first time I've had fun with a Pokémon game since black/white 2. It does pale in comparison to those games, though, but it shows GF is finally making an effort for the first time in 15 years.

The main difference there is Game Freak didn't develop the GameCube Pokemon RPGs, so they likely don't have strong thoughts of "creative vision" over them. I wouldn't be surprised if GF would only want to ever do ports of the old games if they can allow transfer - since they went out of their way to make that work on 3DS.

Like all chinkoid stuff these days, they are passable.
The cases tend to be ass and if it doesn't have that fluffy foam inside it's going to scratch your shit, but if it does you're golden.
The screen protectors however are pretty decent.
The stick gum caps are also okay but depending on the OEM they will melt with your skin oils within a month depending on how acidic your sweat is, but this is a larger peripheral issue, not just a stick gum issue.

JSAUX if i'm not mistaken were the first company to release a steamdeck dock and is considered very high quality for a third party company

I’ve grabbed a couple of their docks and travel adapters before, they're honestly hit or miss. The build quality is usually okay, not premium but gets the job done if you're not too rough with your stuff. That "starter kit" looks like the same cookie-cutter bundle they all sell – case, screen protector, stick covers, maybe a stand. Just triple-check the stick caps, some melt after a couple sweaty Smash sessions. If you're OCD about scratches or alignment, maybe pay more for something better, but if you're just trying to keep your Switch 2 from getting banged up in a backpack, it’ll work.

DLSS is a cope, it is not as powerful as the PS5 and ports will be midling.

However, Metroid 4 running at 4k/60 or 1080p/120 means that nintendo is willing to use more lightweight engines that will deliver very, very good games, even on a technical level.
Big textures are free, switch tier lighting is more than good enough to make great looking games and there's no snobby art director seeking REALISM (tm) on the system.

Twilight Princess and Wind Waker on NSO with 2x rendering resolution more than makes up for the lack of a Wii U HD port for either game to Switch in my opinion. TPHD is the only one of the two that looks good, WWHD destroys the artstyle.

It's going to depend on how much of a cut Microsoft wants and if it would bring in enough subscriptions to justify it. Genesis was part of when the Expansion pass was introduced so Sega was getting their cut from that. I wouldn't want to have to pay more for Xbox stuff.

Just like how you are not supposed to have your entire steam library installed at once because you are not going to be playing 90% of them, you are not supposed to install everything on your switch at once.
I do recommend using SD cards like bundle cartridges tho, they are easily transportable even if you travel a lot and 200-500gb models are cheap as shit.
