People have always been afraid of Nintendo because of the potential.
Nintendo has some of the best first party's in the industry, there's a reason they are being seen as the Disney of gaming.
Only their hardware was weaker than the competition the last few gens which cost them third party support.
Since the last 2 gens we start seeing diminishing returns, we know the term for longer but now were finally seeing it as handhelds are capable enough to play 'console' games.
So now third party games look for the average person the same on Switch2 but they also have acces to all the Nintendo first party which makes it best of both worlds, add to that the hybrid nature of the device and you have a killer system.

People haven’t been afraid of Nintendo, they’ve just stopped seeing them as direct competition.
Yes, their first-party titles are strong, but calling them the “Disney of gaming” ignores how uneven their output can be.
Weak hardware wasn’t just a third-party issue, it limited the games themselves, even from Nintendo.
And while handhelds are catching up, “diminishing returns” doesn’t magically mean Switch 2 will match the PS5, much less an 'eck.
Third-party games may run, but performance, features, and visuals still matter to many. Hybrid or not, Nintendo’s next system has to prove it’s more than nostalgia and portability.

The problem wasn't as widespread for Switch. Pretty much every third party is now using key cards save for a small handful of games.
The Switch is a shit device that was behind the times even when it came out. Nintendo are joining what other consoles have been doing for decades.
Japan is always 10+ years behind.
You can now share digital games with friends instead of it being stuck on one console. Whatever issue you have doesn't make sense.
