ANONS PLAY NOITA ITS FUCKING AMAZING
PLAY NOITA
mfw the tutorial stones secret
what if terraria but even worse
pass
i don't care much for all the post game shittery, creating a sun and whatnot but yes it is an amazing game.
if a game needs a dozen mods to be fun, it's not a good game
Noita's world generation shits all over Terraria's, which is permanently cucked due to the devs being afraid of introducing events that fundamentally change the world beyond the hardmode crap.
If you need a dozen mods to enjoy noita you're literally subhuman
I have a solution for the eyes puzzle, but it's too long to explain here.
I played it and it was kinda boring
Goatse
Do you think it was intentional?
Roguelikes aren't fun, they're like second jobs for mentally ills, worse than gacha and gambling
dude i have 20000 hours on this dopamine chasing treadmill sim, just hit reroll again the next run will finally be the good one trust me
Noita is less about good RNG and more about raw knowledge checks. My favorite strategy that won me a 33 orb run (beeline to Snowy Depths > find wand with minimal digging capabilities > beeline to Overgrown Caverns) practically erases starting RNG from the game.
I'm OP but you're not wrong
I'm OP and you're wrong
I play vanilla
I already have anon. I don't like the post-game content of having to travel the overworld. Idk if it filters me or if I just find it tedious. Main route is tight as hell though.
Is this how gachafags cope
killed the alchemist
Did both chests
What are some other important spell unlocks?
The only mod you need to have at hand is the multiplayer one
it doesn't need any mods
nah it's a game of skill and knowldge, not rng
The Tower's diamond
nothing will compare to those first Noita threads where people were discovering crazy shit live.
It actually felt like that kid who came up with "totally legit" bullshit Vidya secrets, but here they're actually true
Tinker everywhere is mandatory from the start.
More like
if you need 16 loops to enjoy a game its not a good game
I did for about 100 hours. I love the look and the mechanics for spells, but I hate roguelite elements and autistic Finnish indie design so I stopped. Fuck right off if you think losing a 3 hour run "because you learned something!" is okay when the thing you learned is "This optional boss you found after 3 hours is immune to the 3 things you tried against him. Start a new run and try one other thing and hope it doesn't get you killed in 0.3 seconds". I don't even think I've seen a game that disrespects the players time as much, which is a shame because the interactivity, reactivity and wand building mechanics really are top notch.
I don't even think I've seen a game that disrespects the players time as much
"The sacrifice of oneself to the pursuit of knowledge Is the highest tribute to the gods."
It's not that bad, you can just escape from the boss and try something else. The worst things are the master of masters and that new elk boss that basically one-shoot you if you didn't magically know that they reflect damage
Is this one of those wiki games?
It is the absolute pinnacle of wiki games.
Outside of maybe the pyramid boss, there's not a single side boss that you're going to find and beat on your own without losing an inordinate amount of time to figuring out what to do. If Noita had Terraria-like world generation and saving at holy mountains, it would be a perfect game.
200%. The single most wikiest game to have existed, assuming you want to do anything but get the default (bad) ending. Have fun not even knowing the basics of wandbuilding without looking it up.
Its a wiki + youtube walkthrough game
All of it, and it's still fun without one.
I beat it but it turns out beating the game is only the first part and 99% of the game is cryptic shit nobody got time to figure out
I beat it
I love how "beating" Noita means literally nothing, to the point it's actually a noob trap because you're ending the game early with nothing to show for it. Noita must be the one roguelite with metaprogression in existence where you get ZERO unlocks for beating the game (cosmetics aside).
I like it a lot and I've done a lot of stuff outside the main line, but it gets tedious and the game is really too buggy to be bothered about completing crown or amulet quests.
It really kills my desire to finish sun quest when the stones I've stashed disappear... when I haven't even left the world, just a few biomes away.
do basically everything
get amulet and crown
1 spell away from having them all
don't play for a while
feel like playing again
start the game up
all progress gone, my crown is gone
fuck you nigger game, I'm not playing again then
I don't even think I've seen a game that disrespects the players time as much
Pretty much. Also anyone saying it's only about "knowledge checks" is disingenuous, let's see you reach the last biome without any black holes spells or equivalent.
It's ok.
It's only "amazing" if you're autistic enough to engage with the schizo bullshit they've locked 90% of the game behind
And by that I meant let's see you when you DO reach last biome without black hole spells. Not that it's hard to do but that you're fucked big time if it happens like it happened to me once. Felt like I should clarify.
I have never installed a single mod
only like 8-10% of people who own noita on steam have beaten it
even less have the hidden achievements
the funny thing is beating it is piss easy as long as you have a kolmi killer. Most people get filtered likely in snowy depths or hiisi base
locks higher difficulties behind monotonous orb collections that you have to repeat every time you want a harder experience
All they had to do was have Ascensions like Slay the Spire unlock after each time you beat it. There's 0 incentive to beat the boss after the first time you do it. You just fuck around trying to become a God.
and crown
fuck off cheater
Discovering Luminous Drill + Increase Lifetime naturally.
At first I was like
But then I was like
Finding an Always Cast Increase Lifetime wand really made me feel like spiderman
the funny thing is beating it is piss easy as long as you have a kolmi killer.
He's pathetically easy. All you need is a bottle of acid and to speed down there as fast as possible. Hell, a single small teleport bolt wand is enough to reach him quickly and painlessly.
piss easy
Most people will put it down before they've learned half the things they need to know to get to jungle in good shape.
Did you make a world teleport wand?
Look how hard I can pee!
cheater
took me 200 fucking hours to do it
Nightmare mode is the harder difficulty. Did you never try that option?
I have never installed a single mod in 2k hours of gameplay
there's no fucking way you legit do that even with 200 hours, it's pixel perfect
The crown is from making the suns. You're thinking of the red gem on the amulet which is something else.
that's not what you get crown for, crown is for creating suns, the gem on the amulet is for cheating the one more forbidden knowledge
Are there any good online co op mods?
true, I'll continue playing noita
No, you're thinking of the gemstone. The crown is the reward of the sun quest, the amulet is the reward for 33 orbs, and the gemstone in the amulet the reward for 34.
Only the gemstone is pixel perfect and needs outside tools, the other two are totally doable.
How does it work?
my only complaint of the game is that the 'hobo' phase is too short and you don't get to experiment as much as you'd like before becoming OP and none of it mattering (as with many roguelites).
did they figure out the eye puzzle yet? or the cauldron room?
will they ever?
I'm just so fucking bad at this game bros. I don't know what it is. I can never make a wand that's good enough. Whenever I see people posting webms on Anon Babble I feel like they're modding their wands, because the best I can get is a standard projectile + fire trail or some shit. Every other spell turns out to be shit.
what is it?
you dont have to tell me if you dont want
It'd be a pretty funny joke to put so many really obtuse puzzles in the game and then make a few with no solution or quest line.
shartytranny
Still absolutely zero progress on the eyes.
Cauldron has a meaning, but is it the original intended meaning that was never implemented? Probably not.
I have this same problem but I think I'm just not getting good rolls for spells and shit.
I've played a total of 1k hours since it came out and there's always some crazy new thing I've never heard of being discovered. I didn't know until yesterday that you could put modifiers like Heavy Spread on spells with 0 charges to get their benefits without the downsides.
Same. Beat it once by getting incredibly lucky, have no interest in doing all the bonus wiki autism. Anyone who says they figured that shit out on their own is lying. I occasionally load it up just to throw dynamite in a potion shop on the first floor and watch the concoction melt through the whole level cause that shit is kino.
you can turn regular purple bolt into spambolt, just use chainsaws and manas, I'm a brainlet but I managed to bruteforce and find out stuff that works. Zigzag pattern and luminous drill can carry you through whole game
Read this shit until it's drilled into your brain. Wandbuilding is obtuse as FUCK and requires a fair bit of fucking around and finding out. Also don't forget that machine gun wands are a meme and sparkbolt timer payload wands are where the real shit is at.
noita.fandom.com
Also don't forget that machine gun wands are a meme
You will never stop me from loving my heavy shot concentrated light machine gun infinite mana wand.
Here's a basic tip that doesn't require much to get going. If you cast more than one spell at the same time all their modifiers stack, so casting 4 spark bolts in a quad cast will give you +20% crit on all of them. Making kind of slow shotguns that are just the multicasts you have into basic shooting spells will actually get you pretty far. .
It won't be like the busted builds that people post, but it should get you far enough to find those spells.
Wait what mods should I get
t. Brainlet that keeps bouncing off noita
machine gun wands are a meme
sparkbolt timer payload wands are where the real shit is at
You do know that you can make anything into a machine gun, right?
Single shot, shotgun, trigger, mist-like, anything.
I'll play Noita again when they add some real content instead of a few meme spells you get from doing stuff you need your eyes glued to the wiki to get.
Are they still updating this game or nah
Nah, but that doesn't mean one of the devs won't get bored and start updating it again
Nothing wrong with doing pixel perfect exploits for the gemstone if the devs can't be bothered to finish their game and their ARGs.
pretty sure they're done with it
I wish modders had made more map overhauls, the gameplay mechanics are solid but the non-dungeon content is ass
just open an orb from a chest bro
What would you want from Noita 2
for there not to be a noita 2 and for them to just update the first game
Chainsaws and shit are a gigantic mana drain that could go into literally anything else, such as damage up modifiers. Memechine gun wands will never be better than a single juiced up sparkbolt timer (or trigger if you're feeling suicidal) wand that deletes rooms in one click.
Melee weapons. Enchanted magical swords and shit.
You can still make the room nuking wand into a machine gun.
there's no need for a noita 2, it's a unique experience I got so burned out just for the simple 33 orb run that I'm done with this game forever
dissing chainsaws
You have no idea what you're talking about. The sheer power of the chainsaw to just completely fucking negate all the casting delay modifiers makes it the second best spell in the entire game, even if you don't like machine gun wands.
Nr1 is Add Mana btw.
Nr1 is Add Mana btw.
*Greek letters
*divide by 10 walks in*
Those are extremely good and powerful, but you can, technically, do what they do with other spells, like the uplicate line.
Add Mana and chainsaw can't be replaced, and are used in a lot more wands, for a much larger stretch of the game. Blood Magic can replace Add Mana but like lol lmao.
Yes, and that's not what I'm looking for. It's a single higher difficulty, not a tiered system. Beat that, then what? Also, NG+ shouldn't follow immediately after beating the boss. I don't want to do 2 consecutive runs. Their difficulty design is indefensible. They'd rather add more esoteric secrets for the player to unlock a totem pole piece rather than a scaling difficulty system to encourage people to keep playing their game.
needs Unlimited Spells, Greek letter or Wand Refresh to work
NG+ shouldn't follow immediately after beating the boss
NG+ is complete garbage in Noita anyway.
DOOD what if removed map features and entire bosses so you're arbitrarily locked out of content
NG+ is complete garbage in Noita anyway.
Yes, and they should have made it good. They're terrible at difficulty.
No where in my post did I say to remove anything and slowly add it back. Unlock more difficulties each time you beat it rather than your only option being to make the boss a little stronger with lame orb collection. There being no incentive to beat the game is terrible fucking game design. You're allowed to like the game, but try defending that shit without gay strawmen.
megumin skin mod
EWE start mod
yup, its noita time
worse than gacha
Ragebait needs to be believable.
I'm not spoon-feeding you shit
Plus all mods are bad anyway. Just play vanilla or play something else.
The loops and parallel worlds are all gay, the right way to play is to get the basic ending
game you like isn't fun and if you're having fun then it's not real fun
i know a lot about fun so i know what i'm talking about, that's why instead of going off to have my own fun with video games i'm lecturing you on what you think you know is fun but isn't
the entirety of Anon Babble is the same, every single day it's the same retards crying over the same shit that no one should give a fuck about
not a single thread is allowed about any video game without someone who genuinely, honestly and truly believes that what you're enjoying is wrong and you're enjoying it for the wrong reasons because your idea of entertainment isn't the same as theres
this isn't even autism, they don't understand the grey areas of life. to them everything is black or white, but these retards? there is no black, white or even grey. nothing can exist out of the singular way by which they live and breathe because their brain can't comprehend anything different
Noita would be 10x better if it were anything other than a roguelike desu famalam
Mana and cast delay/recharge can always be worked around with Tower wands and perk rerolling. There are a ton of very useful spells that aren't affected by Unlimited Spells and require Greek letters. A lot of the most creative and best builds in the game also require Greek letters.
Online multiplayer
More focus the main dungeon and less side crap
The first levels are a slog and boring as hell. Also, while the randomizer option where you start with a full wand is fun, it doesnt feel earned and fails to motivate me to go through that ass early game.
I want none of these things, they would detract from what makes Noita.
Mods typically teach you bad habits and disable treecheevos and certain special features. Vanilla is pure kino.
That being said, the multiplayer mod is top notch. Played a run with a few anons a couple days ago and it was a blast.
iplicate spells can actually make all of those spells infinite to cast
there is and there was a thread for it a couple days ago github.com
Not really a spell unlock, but killing the Leviathan unlocks a teleport room that works even in parallel works
NG+ cycles and parallel worlds add almost no difficulty once your character really gets going. The good part of the game is
Noita would be 10x better if it were anything other than a roguelike desu famalam
A lot of the things that makes Noita good are derived from roguelikes. In many ways Noita is the action game that comes the closes to the spirit of traditional roguelikes such as NetHack where you have a million ways to consequentially interact with everything in the game's world.
Noita would need massive revisions to work well without permadeath, it'd be a totally different game if they could pull it off at all. It absolutely should lose the gay roguelite unlocks though.
This lays it out for you. I promise it's idiot-proof
github.com
3d open world survival crafting desu senpai
NG+ cycles and parallel worlds add almost no difficulty once your character really gets going. The good part of the game is
Whoops, hit post before I finished writing this.
The good part is when it's a run and gun game where survival is more a matter of how you play than what your build is. Sometime between late in the main game and early parallel world exploration you inevitably become 99% unbeatable and its barely a game for the following hours of doing tedious busywork for the sake of unlocks and achievements.
My first encounter with the ghost deer had me busting a gut at how funny my death was
have a wand with literally nothing but Add Mana, a Chainsaw and a Luminous Drill on it
attempt to tunnel to safety at 3hp
mfw the chainsaw sparks fucking set me on fire as I'm helpless to do anything
didn't record it so nobody will ever believe me
To this day I still can't fucking believe this happened. It was a literal DSP-tier WOOOOOOOOOW moment.
metal saw rapidly strikes hard stone
sparks fly from high friction
dry clothe easily ignites

That is true, but Iplicates are much less consistent to get than Greek letters because they're Utility spells. You usually won't run into one in a Holy Mountain and will have to go to Heaven/Hell or the Meat Realm. At least the Alchemist is easily accessible and easy to kill, even if he doesn't always drop the best Greek letters. There is also no Iplicate equivalent to Omega, Mu, or Tau. Also Iplicate spells have limited charges unless you also took Unlimited Spells.
I have played this game for over 50 hours and I have beaten the game once.
inb4 git gud
No. I am not a bad gamer. I've beaten every Souls game multiple times. Noita is simply ruined by questionable game design and only coping faggots say otherwise.
All of my friends agree, even the one that plays old school games like Megaman.
The spell system is completely broken. Some nerds have figured it out how it really works though and it's explained in the wiki and on many videos on youtube.
so you want to see more than 1% of the game?
better go to the wiki, faggot!
Shit game. Don't @ me
No and then yes. You should go in completely blind until you beat the main path for the first time. Each level on the way down introduces you to more mechanics for you to master and gives you more than enough tools to plow your way through. Once you've completed the Work for the first time, then it's probably a good idea to at least look up advanced wand mechanics since some of the more complicated spells aren't intuitive and don't really display what they're doing on the Holy Mountain spell boards.
Yes and yes.
Noita's biggest flaw is that it lacks a fucking tutorial. It literally doesn't explain SHIT except the basic controls. At this point I think the dev must be retarded.
until you beat the main path for the first time
Worthless suggestion since you don't get anything for beating the game other than a shitty unsatisfying ending. It's infinitely better for new players to climb up and explore the side paths with their hard-earned power instead of just ending the game for literally no gain.
It is possible to carry certain things through completely different runs using pic related.
post dumb deaths
a dozen
What do you need other than the Megumin mod?
You'd be surprised at some of the beastly wands you can make with only tier 0 and 1 spells. Even just tier 0 with a decent non-shuffle wand can carry you to the final boss.
Noita's biggest flaw is that it lacks a fucking tutorial. It literally doesn't explain SHIT except the basic controls. At this point I think the dev must be retarded.
THAT IS THE ENTIRE FUCKING POINT!
The new quests are intuitive enough that you shouldn't need the wiki for them at all. The new mechanics are really fun. I especially like the high speed explosions

why the fuck are so many dogshit spells limited? Firebolt is legitimately worse than a spell bolt and you only get 25 per spell in the wand lol

How does it work?
1. Install Noita (Steam, GOG, or cracked version above. You need Steam running to join online even if you didn't buy the game from there. Launch Steam and THEN the mod)
IF you are running a cracked version or GOG, make sure to check "Allow using steam networking even..." box in the upper left corner under "Local settings." You need to RESTART THE MOD for this change to take effect
2. Install the mod and launch it.
3. Set your name and colors (if you like)
4. Open lobby list (upper right corner under "Connect using steam" yes, even if its pirated)
5. Copy the lobby code: e0gca0ad78dw and click "Connect to lobby in clipboard." If this one doesn't work, look for one in the thread.
6. Select "Start Noita" in the mod client itself, and make sure to start a new game.
7. If you still can't join, close the mod client completely, start Noita normally, go into your mods, and make sure the mod is enabled.
8. Do not continue a previous run, or do the daily run, or click anything else. Just join from the mod, and launch a normal 'new game.'
9. DISABLE ALL OTHER MODS.
10. If you are hosting, you don't need to wait for a full lobby to start, or any players even. Anyone can join the game as long as they have the lobby ID. Jump into the game, and wait for others to join.

Some of the world-gen jank in it is fairly amusing
Video games shouldn't have tutorials. You don't need to be told more than the keybinds, if you can't figure out everything else by yourself, google or stay filtered.
It's literally impossible to figure out everything without googling, that's my whole point you niggerfaggot.
It's literally impossible to figure out everything without googling
then how did people figure it out in the first place?
Not talking about playing with you guys, but does the connect with IP option work? If everyone is using the same mods with the same config, do mods work? What happens if there's bad performance for one of the players but not the rest?
I can't tell you how much suffering I went through to find that fucking Wuplicate spell. Spent a good chunk of time spawning wands everywhere until I realized utility spells won't even appear on them. I went through meat realm after meat realm in parallel worlds, then through new game+s and repeating every time my save file got bloated enough to give this screen upon reloading. I was in NG+++++++++ before I found the damn thing and finally completed my spell list. I got lucky that I could shift away pus and ominous liquid, because those would have been insta-deaths in the later iterations.
Sometimes it ran a little slow if someone was going through a lot of chucks at once, but never enough to be a bother. Even if it does crash, reconnecting takes seconds.
To answer the 1st question: I don't know
To answer the 2nd question: i don't know
To answer the 3rd question: i don't know
What my man right here said.
i-it can't be figured out!
Brainlet.
Does it run slowly for everyone if it's slow for someone? Does the person crash or the entire server crash?
SHADOW WIZARD MONEY GANG
What is the cutoff point where I'm no longer an acolyte and already can be considered a legitimate performer of the arts? My peers mock me, calling me a "paralleled", whatever that means
The 50 hours without a completion is realistic. The biggest filter in the game in Hiisi Base. I recommend mastering the first 2 floors, since the coal pits (and its side area) are where you are gonna want to spend the most time getting your kit ready. Certain spells and potions make Hiisi Base significantly easier to traverse. Once you hit the floor after, you should be able to scale up your power immensely, assuming you can survive/dodge the tanky enemies in the biome.
a shitty unsatisfying ending
You get a treechievement and new perspective. I thought that ending was pretty hilarious and I felt on top of the world when I got it for the first time.
datamining
is that a goatse
They're very powerful in the early game if you use them resourcefully. 25 is a lot of dead enemies or opened paths and you should have more options by the end of its charges.
I think it's for everybody for the slowdown. I just crashed individually, but took like 5 seconds to rejoin without problem
What will let me do more parallel worlds before the game starts freezing on chunk load / glitching out? I can do like 30 or something currently before things become unplayable
better cpu
faster RAM
better NVMe
Data mining wouldnt exactly tell you what to do, just make you aware there's something in there
The devs have done a solid job at preventing datamining by having a bunch of shit obfuscated within the engine itself.
ok mr data miner, what is the solution to the cauldron puzzle?
The d*scord doesn't even call it a puzzle anymore because dataminers said there's nothing there.
can push things leftwards, but not to the right
For what purpose?
You have to assemble the Philosopher's Stone, NOT unrelated to the End of Everything's identically named effect.
the devs fucked up when they went all in on the obscure puzzles. So much shit in the game is hard gatekept by if you find blackholes for infinite digging instead of having areas all connect to each other.
If we went with that logic then 99% of the discoveries would be discarded
300 hours no mods, if you NEED mods to play Noita it's because you're an ADHD riddled faggot
the only noita mod thats worth using is the megumin player model
hey I did this :3 thanks for saving it
posting the weekenders
bro this show was damn good
too bad no one other than me and you watched it
game needs a wiki to be played so it sucks
you don't need insane wand crafting to get gud and have fun what you need is this :
go slow
don't run away into unexplored area
go SLOW
hiisi can't shoot upright and full down, except for snipers
that's it, survivability +2000%
it's actually fairly common as a "hidden gem" among animation fans, tomboy lovers and cartoon writers because the mundane kids dialogue were reeeeaaally good
i'm all of this

I put 73 hours in this game and have never beaten it once.
I can't be fucked to get another run going.
My last run I had to spend 5 minutes afk inside a sun just to die.
Has the cauldron or eyes secret been solved yet?
It's not a wiki game. Nothing about it is a wiki game. The controls are simple. Wand building is simple. You just put spells from left to right. Multicasts cast multiple spells. Some of the more funky spells like divide by do weird stuff to drawing, but you can still make shit work by just moving stuff around until it works. There are a bunch of glyphs and shit that points to the secrets. Symbols telling you what to do. The game literally has yellow paint but it's just stylised. Absolutely not a wiki game. If you didn't use the wiki 3 microseconds after finding something you didn't understand, you would understand why you wouldn't need the wiki.
ai slop
Go back.
You are technically correct but no sane person is figuring out some of the secrets in this game
That being said, those same secrets are also largely irrelevant to the overall experience
Why do these lobbies always start when I'm going to go to sleep? We need a greater European audience.
get to the last floor
no edit wands everywhere
What do you do at this point?
i always find it funny when people complain about core design decisions that were meant to cause exactly what they're complaining about
To answer that, we need to talk about parallel universes...
This was a painfully slow death and I couldn't move.
Should've spoilered that but it's not giving me the option to delete my post.
what is my best shot at finding ambrosia?
If you use black holes for anything but transport you 200% deserve your deaths. Nobody has said it yet so I'll be the first: One of the keys to getting far in Noita is to MINIMIZE CHAOS. Chunks deloading and loading is especially nasty because it means suffering the consequences of your actions immediately upon setting foot on an area you fucked up no matter how much time has passed.
Overgrown Caverns has gorillions of potions (even if they like to explode for no reason as soon as you enter the area).
then how did people figure it out in the first place?
Datamining and collective secret sharing and searching. If dozens of people play for hundreds of hours and are in constant communication via discord, each one finds a little piece of info then tells everyone else, and that snowballs over time. And don't pretend for a second that's normal 90s style "I talked about stuff I found in a game with my friends" or anything even close to that organic. A normal player is never going to come close to finding even 10% of the game's mechanics, even if they spend 200 hours in it. That's garbage Finnish autism design. No, discord secret hunting games are not good. It's a waste of great mechanics in Noita's case.
Fungal caverns has lots of potions and items. Overgrown caverns if none found in main path.
A normal player can find 80-95% of the game's mechanics. Most of it is fairly straightforward.
I think you might've angered more than the gods on that one
I fucking hate rogue likes and I feel this one is particularly cryptic.
I tried for a while and kept dying in the second or third screen with no sense of progression.
Wand building is simple. You just put spells from left to right
That's like saying all mathematics are simple because order or operations exists.
The point of some spells is to cause chaos though. Ideally you want to make use of all your spells.
A normal player can find 80-95% of the game's mechanics.
Absolutely fucking not. Not even close. A normal player is figuring out maybe half of how spell wrapping works. They're not figuring out parallel worlds because of how the cursed rock layers make you think it's a hard stop, which also means no perk rerolling. They aren't figuring out how to beat like half the bosses. They aren't figuring out the Sun. They aren't figuring out tripping on shrooms. They're never going to touch alchemy or even know it exists. They MIGHT (and that's a big might) figure out the notes. They're not going to find stuff like the gold. The game is a bunch of amazing mechanics wrapped up in the absolute worst kind of Finnish autism.
Can you disable the rixels?
/thread
Multicast some spells. Put modifiers on those multicasts. Maybe use a trigger and put piercing on it. That's the extent of wand building knowledge you need for most runs.
237 hours of playtime
decided to say "fuck it" and try to explore the whole game with invulnerability mod on
died because i got polymorphed and 1-shot after a 10+ hour run
No game has ever broken my balls like this. I *still* haven't beaten it.
I *still* haven't beaten it.
Do you mean the base base aka the tutorial?
i bought it twice and refunded it twice, just can't get into it and i love terraria, binding of isaac and risk of rain
What nobody tells you about poly is that four stacks of More Love *ALMOST* completely neutralizes its danger. You only have to worry about being sheeped by bosses or touching damaging liquids or terrain while sheeped because not even giganigger enemies will bother you anymore.
parallel worlds
The mechanical spider boss drops a perk that shows points of interests, even in parallel worlds. If someone got dissuaded by cursed rocked, they will most certainly gain back curiosity after seeing points extend past the cursed rock.
bosses
Most of them can be understood after a couple of attempts. Building a big damage wand solves half of them. Some have immunities. Mechanical spider is obvious. Short-circuit it. Lake boss might not be obvious but you'll eventually get it after experimentation.
sun
Literally starts with a glyph pointing to you that shows the location of all the books needed to learn how to make it.
tripping on shrooms
There are eye glyphs in both of the shroom areas that show you a shroom icon. Maybe eat the shrooms? Not hard to figure that one out.
alchemy
A lot of them you'll just see and learn. It took a long time before I encountered guiding powder but I did.
the gold
I forgot exactly which, but it aligned with the y-axis of one of the objects of interest in the desert. It doesn't really matter if you don't find that out though.
300 hours of playtime
1 win
everytime i can "win" I go for the orbs and fail
I think the furthest I got was The Vault. I tried to explore every biome up to that point then got polymorphed kek. I'm pretty sure I looked something like this when it happened.
CLOSED
Git gud. It's not about the end, but about the journey.
Alternatively there's shifting or poly-mage corpse-farming
I got you
That was fun. I got lucky and found the best perk in the game Concentrated Spells
I found that perk as well but very late game
It's such an easy source of dps, I take it every time
I love tentacle spam
Terraria without all the gay shit
Any perk that removes options from you instead of giving you more options is an intrinsically dogshit perk. Concentrated Spells, Projectile Slower, Projectile Repulsion Field, etc. all become progressively worse the more you progress.
I played Noita early on but bounced off
I only attempted this once
I know nothing of the game
Is it worth another go?
go in blind
die about 400 times before getting the basic ending
quit
I didn't have the raw autism to spend 10k hours trying to get the max ending.
picking one of these perks is bad because it hinders your ability to spend 10 hours picking 500 of those perks to achieve the same effect
sure
try not to die
It's not ideal if you're running off to parallel worlds or going above or below but it makes getting to the end a cakewalk
I can't beat hiisi base
Don't really like the game much
Plasma beam orbit does no self-damage when attached to tentacles.
I disagree in the case of Concentrated Spells. It continues to scale up the bigger your wands get. If I need healing, it's not super hard to find piercing or light shots to bring the damage back down.
anon finally finds heal bolts only to discover he's unable to stand in a body of water and fire up because his repulsion field is fucking him the ass
If you grab crutch perks, you deserve to get cucked arbitrarily. Simple as.
This, there is always a catch for most perks that you need to be aware of. Very few perks are objective upgrades, like Tinker With Wands Everywhere and Toxic/Fire Immunity.
I love how it's possible to turn plasma beams into mediguns that heal you and hurt enemies. Even better, the way to do it involves esoteric magical interactions requiring calculated teamwork between you and a hostile enemy
Are you trying to use the starting wand or something?
My least favorite part of the RNG is that I start to get a preference for certain spells and instead of playing all the way through will just keep rerolling until I get what I want.
hisii base has the propane tank filter. he's probably just not good at monitoring his surroundings
Just make it faster so it can break through the repulsion field. Limiting yourself to perks that retain your total control will lead to more boring runs.
bridge boss is immune to explosion damage
Whelp
And it was such a nice run too
To be fair, you need very high spatial awareness to avoid chained explosions.
That's gated behind the boss and also assumes they can figure out to make a ridiculous highspeed teleport wand or use ambrosia. That's not something a normal player would find. You're lying if you pretend otherwise.
Most of them can be understood after a couple of attempts
Absolutely not. Only the tutorial boss and pyramid boss are straightforward enough to be found and killed with a couple of attempts.
Literally starts with a glyph pointing to you that shows the location of all the books needed to learn how to make it.
I'm not going to reply anymore because you're completely full of shit and your viewpoints are tainted. You've clearly played the game for an extended period of time and have looked everything up while convincing yourself that all of the info you need is right in the game and people will find it normally. Next thing you'll be telling me people find alchemy organically without looking shit up.
A lot of them you'll just see and learn.
You're mentally ill, or an autistic Finn, or both.
If you just want a base game clear, get invisibility, a small teleport bolt and a bottle of acid and zip to the boss immediately. One bottle of acid thrown at his head will kill him and you can avoid enemies fairly easily with invisibility and small teleport bolt. The teleport and acid bottle are easy enough to find, so only the invisibility perk might take a few shots.
Explosion Immunity is such a game changer...
one pixel of unstable polymorph
Nothing personal, noita
Bridgeboss has very high resistance(0.3x) to explosion damage, but it isn't completely immune. The half second of invuln every time you hurt it just makes it a pain in the ass to try and fight it fairly.
I uninstalled after losing a 3 hour-long run to Melvin
he's not loved by the world
sad!
2019 was the golden age of indie gaming
Most bullshit way you've died?
i don't like games where you can get instakilled at full health by stuff from across the screen, I have yet to beat nuclear throne because of this
A lot of them you'll just see and learn.
alchemy
Fuck no. That was advanced stuff when people here finally started learning about it.
I usually die in the first cave, can only get past like 3 screen if I get a good wand. How do I got gud?
Your fault for unlocking nukes
Here's a cheap, easy wand that can carry you through. Parts can be swapped out and added too based on what's available, but you'll see the general gist.
[Spark Bolt with Trigger / Any other trigger spell] + [Damage Plus / Horizontal Path / Linear Arc / Orbiting Arc]+[Double/Triple/Quad Spell / Scatter Spell]+ [Spark Bolts, Spitter Bolts, Chainsaws, Drills, etc]
Make note that the 3 in the same category as Damage Plus cost no mana and are essentially free damage for each projectile. Scatter shots can be added within the trigger's payload for free recharge time reduction.
I played it but I still don't understand what I am supposed to do.
Sparkbolt with Trigger
not Timer
It's like you WANT him to suicide in the most embarrassing way possible.
first cave
Don't stand near anything that explodes and if you have to get close kick it away immediately.
If your starting flask isn't filled with water then dump it out before you enter the cave and find a pool of water to fill it with. If you really can't find water then blood is a good alternative until you get to the first shop.
If you're on fire and have no safe liquids to pour on yourself you can smother the flames in a large pool of oil.
Fight the tnt guys up close and the shotgun guys from far away, if you hear them cock their shotgun break line of sight right away.
I've only ever used a single Noita mod, and only once. It was the Megumin mod
This game is made by finns isn't it
Nta but some of the secrets were made to be found by everyone working together.
Timers stop short. I want to fuck up randos from screens away. Triggers are less likely to blow up right next to you (THAT FUCKING PIXEL will still set both off right in your face)
toxic imm isn't even a straight upgrade, since it might be nice to wet yourself with it to avoid catching on fire.
Alright, i'm buying it tomorrow once i'm up. I will not google/read wikis, what am i in for?
The realization that magic could exist and anyone who learns to yield it will eventually kill themselves.
This was my last run and the run that finally got me to quit the game. Losing that much time was really fucking annoying.
what am i in for?
Finnish shitposting.
Yes, discord secrets. Those are gay. Good secrets are something that a few friends playing the game normally and talking to each other can find. Autistic secret hunting is for autists.
But that's just like your opinion man
Nah, it's just a fact. Anything designed around discord community secret hunting, data mining, ARG, or speedrunning is gay trash.
alternatively
1 singular plasma beam
700+ hours in Terraria
800+ hours in Noita
Why yes, I am a high functioning autist.
i beat the game a few dozen times and can't be fucked to read a wiki to "find" the secrets.
literal wikicore content.
Lmao I've fucked up similarly on that guy before, although never actually died to him.
Losing that much time was really fucking annoying.
You can get back to that point faster now. I recommend being significantly less retarded with your black holes.
Did you at least get the good ending?
You can get back to that point faster now.
Or I can just play other games that don't think throwing away 3 hours of the player's time so they can gain the knowledge "This one thing here can kill you really easily just like a million other things can" is a good way to pace out your game.
