PoR = OoE > CotM > AoS > SotN (level 1 hack) > DoS > HoD

SotN was great for its time but it's aged terribly and there's zero difficulty after you get to about level 5 or beat doppleganger for the first time

However the new collection of the DS games have sold very well, showing there is a renewed hunger for Castlevania among core fans and even casuals.

Ecclesia is not that hard, enemies are more bulky in general, but once you get the flow its like every other castlevania from that era.

I used and auto controller and found a place to kill medusa heads with that blood sword that scales with kills. It was op as fuck and you get it kind of early.

In 6th gen, Mega Man games on GBA selling half a mil at 30 or 40 bucks each was a profitable enough venture to tell the devs to plugging away at them.
Now these companies have so much overhead that they have to gamble on high budget games that NEED to sell 5+ million at 70 bucks a pop or else they're failures.
Burn down the HR departments and all the other shit you don't need. Keep your companies lean and mean, and then you can make whatever games you want.

According to the series' original producer (who was demoted to working at an arcade after CV3 was deemed a flop), Dracula's "final form" in the original game wasn't meant to be that, but rather a manifestation of the "curse of man" that allowed Dracula to be resurrected in the first place. tl;dr Dracula comes back because people suck

Guys I wanted to play some Castlemania but didn't know what so I downloaded this romhack and had fun with it, so I'm shilling it FOR FREE:

It has a bunch of neat weapons in it that make it fun to fuck around with. My only recommendation is to not buy the guns from Hammer because they got buffed and slaughter everything for too cheap and too easy. Buy everything else, though.
