There are 3000 traditional Chinese characters (2,000 if simplified) that make up around 99% of what you will see. 2000 sounds like a lot but at 5 a day you can memorize them all in 2 years.

Beginning Chinese is written entirely in pinyin transcription with no hanzi and there's audio recordings available for everything
The second is Character Text for Beginning Chinese, this is Beginning Chinese but instead of pinyin you get Hanzi
The third is Beginning Chinese reader
This is a completely different text from the above and it assumes you don't know any Chinese

Literally just read texts in traditional and practice characters with flashcards and paper if you already know simplified. If you don't know either, use a textbook that uses traditional, simple as. New Practical Chinese Reader is a Chinese textbook but has a traditional version too. It's good for complete beginners.
