What will you play on launch day?
What will you play on launch day?
not buying one on launch day. Gonna wait it out until holidays in the hopes there's more games to announce by then.
one first party launch game
RIIIIIIIIIDGE RACER
Man this is really heading towards a PS3 level disaster
Chibi Robo for the depressing story
Rune factory, but I'm just going to get that for switch 1 or for PC if it comes out on PC.
That’s a nice PC library
They're bringing back survival kids? Wow Konami is digging deep into their dusty atttic
wait a fucking second... that fruity ass looking survival crafting game that was showing when the Direct glitched out live was fucking SURVIVAL KIDS? WHAT THE FUCK
I'm sticking with Mario Kart World and I'll probably pick up Deltarune on PC for free
Probably won't bother with it until the Switch 2: Electric Boogaloo Edition releases in 2027-2028, and even then it won't be for this shit lineup, so something amazing better come out between now and then.
Playing Cyberpunk on Nintendo tech
Playing Cyberpunk at all
mfw
Wow, that's a shitty line-up of games. Why the fuck is an enhanced port of a 3DS game one of the only highlights?
This lineup is extremely disappointing. This system has been in the works forever, clearly suffered delays (even though not officially confirmed), and this is all they have to show for it? Multiplats and Switch 1 "enhanced" ports? Come on.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RACERRRRRRRRR
This. Not interested in mario kart so the opening lineup is really underwhelming. The DK game seems fun but not enough to convince me to buy the console on its own.
MK World
Gamecube VC
Hitman
Cyberpunk
Bananza
Hades II
Not Enter the Gungeon 2 because it has the visuals of a shitty mobile game
Mario Kart, Delta Rune, Metroid Prime 4
enhanced
As far as we know all it has is added minigames
and it's forza with a mario skin
Mario Kart World
Breath of the Wild NS2E
Gutten that Elden Ring isn't day 1, I was hoping for that.
I'm not buying one untill they announce a new f-zero game.
We got monkey pawed Survival Kids bros...
The GB games were awesome but this is an abomination
Took out the re-releases, fixed it for ya
Oh boy, im really looking forward to "Nintendo Switch 2: welcome tour" its gotta be a day 1 purchase for me !
Puyo Tetris 2S
I'm going to find the fucking retarded producer ruining Puyo and shit on his desk.
JUST MAKE A NORMAL FUCKING PUYO GAME ALREADY
PUYO TETRIS FUCKING SUCKS
NOBODY LIKED PPT2
NOBODY WANTS MORE PPT
TETRIS FAGS HAVE TGM4 AND TETRIS 99 NOW NOBODY FUCKING WANTS THIS
JUST MAKE A REAL FUCKING PUYO GAME
FUUUUUCK
Agree completely. They haven't announced their big holiday release though right?
Unless it's kirby air ride or that hyrule warriors game...?
I'll just wait and see.
DELTARUNE
On my PC
Gonna wait it out until holidays in the hopes there's more games to announce by then.
So far they've already announced:
July 2025:
Donkey Kong Bananza
Announced for 2025:
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
Kirby Air Riders
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Professor Layton and The New World of Steam
Announced for 2026:
The Duskbloods
Rhythm Heaven Groove
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
I mean what more could you possibly want?
Pokemon Legends Z-A
What the fuck even is Welcome Tour? Is it a paid owner's manual?
kart racing game I don't care about

If the Nintendo Switch 2 doesn't have franchises and games like Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto VI (or at least a port of GTA V), EA Sports games, or a port of an XBOX franchise (like Gears of War, Forza, or Halo), The Switch 2 will just be another piece of Nintendo garbage.
Deltarune easily. And it'll probably be on PC because that's where my current save file is.
We went from picrel being the norm to whatever the fuck this is
Embarrassing
Yeah, tech demo minigame collection with instructions on how the Switch 2 works. Really looks like it should be free, but isn't.
Nah. That's an insanely good exclusives lineup for the next 12 months.
Fuck
none might just buy oneearly to store until an eventual softmod
Preferably an RPG that isn’t Pokeslop
A launch library so bad, it makes Virtual Boy's good by comparison.
Lost in Blue was classy
I mean what more could you possibly want?
I want more major titles. Compare the first year lineup of the Switch 1 and this looks rather pitiful by comparison, even if the new DK looks great it ain't enough to carry the new system with mariokart.
I'm excited for rhythm heaven and prime 4, but these aren't switch 2 titles (plus rhythm heaven is ages away, bafflingly); I'm not impressed with the new HW:AoI as its performance looked off in the trailer and I was burned before by AoC. Air Ride and Layton aren't my thing. I don't know how I feel about Duskblood yet.
I fucking hope not, I hate pokemon.
MK world
GameCube stuff
See how good Fortnite runs
Maybe ridge racer
Wanna get Puyo Puyo Tetris but I don't know.
Some of those ports will be 90 euros too.
We literally had like 5 tech demo non-games that came pre-installed for free with the 3DS. This is like telling people they had to pay for Face Raiders
it's been 9 fucking years since we got a puyo game that wasn't a budget JESL tool or apple arcade exclusive
it's been 22 years since we got one in english
I'm going to go fucking nuclear. Sega literally CANNOT stop disappointing me.
The pricing goes like this:
$80 - Big NS2 Exclusives like MKW (probably Smash, Zelda, 3D Mario)
$80 - Switch 2 Editions with new content
$70 - Regular NS2 exclusives like DK
$70 - Switch 2 Editions with performance upgrades
TotK just muddies it because it was already $70
Hardly. The Switch 2 actually has games.
The Switch 2 actually has games.
OP's pic is ports and a Mario Kart game that costs an arm and a leg
If nogaems qualifies as games to you, then you'll fucking love the PS5 man
Daily reminder that it was Reggie who was the one that had to tell the chink kikes like Iwata (among others) that Wii Sports should be bundled for free so people of all ages and demographics could be introduced to the motion controls and have a fun game to play day one, right out of the box, and it was considered an amazing success that brought audiences who otherwise don't even play vidya to the console.
I miss you, big fella.
$70 to $80 wii u and switch ports, another dlc infested mario kart, and 1 singular game in donkey kong. it's not even fully backwards compatible, fucking joke system.
eric it's time to go to bed.
Are Gamecube games coming to the Switch, or are they Switch 2 exclusive?
If I were to get it on launch, Mario Kart for sure. I can only see myself playing Yakuza 0 again, if the Director's Cut is Switch 2 exclusive which I kind of doubt will happen. But if it were, sure.
I mean what more could you possibly want?
A Game not aimed at kids and manchildrens.
Fuck, I miss the old videogame industry
Switch 2. You gonna throw down for the controller as well?
Definitely just switch 2, 1 is way too weak to emulate gcn
1 is way too weak to emulate gcn
Wrong. Mario Sunshine from the 3D jewllection was running on an emulator
what more could you possibly want
A Mario game?
odyssey released 7 months after the switch came out
Xenoblade?
xenoblade 2 came out 9 months after switch
A new Zelda game? Not interested in musous.
botw was a launch title
Excluding titles previously announced for the switch all that your list has is Bananza, Age of Imprisonment and The Duskbloods.
It's astrobots playroom but worse and you have to pay for it. It's a 3d owners manual pretending to be a "game"
1 is way too weak to emulate gcn
buying a console in its first year
If you aren't planning to hack it then why the fuck would you ever?
Shine Post and BOTW since I never finished it or played TOTK and they are going to finally run well.
Ridge racer
Lmao, it was killed by Daytona USA and destroyed by Need for Speed.
That launch day line up of exactly 1 new worthwhile game (mario kart) makes me feel better about the crippling scalper situation the system will have and inability to purchase one for months.
If you pay a scalper to rush into those games, you don’t deserve your money.
Makes the PS1 launch library of portsportsports (and Kileak) look great
1 new first party game
But Nintentoddlers were saying Nintendo has been working on Switch 2 games for 3 years now???
Fuck, I miss the old videogame industry
When all games were aimed at kids and manchildren?
literally 1 actual switch 2 exclusive on launch
1 wii-u port
1 switch port
charging for an interactive hardware FAQ
advertising a game cube controller re-launch
This is actually more dire than Wii-U
Wii U had a solid launch lineup. What are you talking about? I take it you weren't born when that actually released.
Who said anything about buying?
What would be really cool on Switch 2 is Mother 4.
I'm white.
unless they're launching the Switch 2 and the Switch 2 Lite on the same day, nothing.
Switch 2 lineup is so poor nincels have to dig up a 30 year old console for comparison
They must really be confident that the new Mario Kart can carry launch period if it's the only new 1st person title for launch period.
Just Mariokart. I will get Metroid and Donkey Kong when they come out which is very different from how I bought BOTW, ARMS, Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 2 all within the first year. Nothing else really appeals to me or I already played/own them elsewhere.
Dunno what Konami is thinking with this art style. Looks like it was outsourced to some random company.
Deltarune, because it’ll be on PC
BotW and TotK ran well on the Switch, with the only notable issues being the Lost Woods. The former had a problem with large mobs, but those almost don't even exist.
That being said, good, potentially stable performance won't make them not shite, which is what they are. They're broken at their core, by design.
Currently playing lost in blue 2, and seeing the new one is such a downgrade.
When did they mention rune factory? I missed it
ITOI
DOESN'T
WANT
TO
MAKE
IT
I'm kinda disappointed DK isn't a launch title, so I'll wait a month and keep an eye on any potential issues with the launch consoles. Mario Kart isn't nearly enough for me to pull the trigger on it day 1, especially for $450. I've either already played or don't care about the rest of the launch lineup. At the end of the day we all know we'll get 1 big game per franchise, it's just a matter of when.
Puyo Puyo tetris is the only new game I'd buy.
Zelda BOTW I haven't played since 2019. I could maybe play that again So i might buy that.
mario kart sells a lot so they are not wrong.
So am I.
Mario Kart
Could play it for an entire year
in the interest of fairness, all i play on my Switch is ports and Fire Emblem. i stopped playing Zelda when Souls games surpassed the concept and i grew outta Mario when i was like 12 years old.
Survival Kids?! Of all the games from the GB to remake, SURVIVAL KIDS???
Switch launched with nothing but BoTW, which carried the system until Mario Odyssey, 7 months later
Switch 2 launches with fucking MARIO KART WORLD, which will carry the system until Donkey Kong Banaza launches 4 weeks later
flop incoming right guys!
I dont have money to buy the console bit it wouldve been the new rune factory for me
Wii U had a solid launch lineup.
No it fucking wasn't. It had the usual ports, another garbage NSMB game, Nintendo Land (which was shit), and ZombiU. Hilariously the last one was the best and arguably only good game
what more could you possibly want?
Something good
arcade archives 2
house of the dead 1&2 confirmed!?!!?!
Seen better fur tech on the original Xbox and Gamecube.
solid
1st party wise, it had 1 game, and 1 semi-game
it was hard-carried by 3rd parties, just like the switch 2 is on launch.
This time the Switch 2 has
ONE 1st party
and one non-free FAQ
It's literally worse
no bro, people will definitely enjoy playing BOTW for the 3rd time and ToK for the 2nd
breath of the wild for the third time
It's okay when Nintendo does it????
I'd highly recommend Cyberpunk 2077 to Nintenbros. Anon Babbletards tried their best to shit on it over the years, and yeah it was broken at launch. But now it's by far one of the best single player games of the generation. And no live service bullshit either. A bona-fide masterpiece.
This time the Switch 2 has
ONE 1st party
and one non-free FAQ
Now tell me about the Switch 1 launch.
They're probably just continuing a 1 game per month strategy and including cross gen games
It sells to its established user base. Mario Kart didn't save Wii U from flopping, for example. They are in for a rude awakening if they think MK is going to sell systems for the next 6 months
95% games that released years ago
the ABSOLUTE state...
Switch 1 also had (in its first year)
Xenoblade 2
ARMS
(better than the no-legs game that was just announced)
Mario+Rabbids
Snipperclips
FE Warriors
Splatoon 2
What do you actually do in it? Is it just a Sleeping Dogs/GTA clone?
Don't lie to them. Cyberpunk went from unplayable garbage to just decent.
no virtua fighter or call of duty/battlefield
no massively multiplayer MMO like Pantheon
worse than wii-u.
i stopped playing Zelda when Souls games surpassed the concept
For me, it was Dragon's Dogma. Is the game perfect? No. But it's leagues ahead of Zelda mechanically, has a better, more original storyline, and an antagonist who is memorable beyond nostalgia, all while likely having 1/3rd the budget of fucking low effort crap like BotW.
Not sure why people put up with how lazy the franchise has been for so long. I mean shit, Okami passed it almost 20 years ago, and it still hasn't surpassed it. All it has that makes it unique among the Medieval-Fantasy Action-Adventure subgenres are puzzles, which go largely unnoticed, because they're shit. Hell, what's the only semi-decent puzzle in the entire franchise? That fucking fourth wall one from Phantom Hourglass? Nintendo EAD is almost as lazy as Gamefreak at this point.
HE JUST
KEEPS
WINNING
That's a vomitive lineup
They also needed DK and one more first party title to make it decent
1 exclusive, a shitty mini game collection
1 port
some indie shovelware shit
Looks the same to me.
I don't care about graphics or framerate so I won't buy a Switch 2 until a game I actually want to play comes out.
I don't need it at launch.
I'll get it when Metroid Prime 4 drops.
lil bro no one is playing that slop at launch day
BOTW launched on Wii-U as well, so there was really no reason to buy a switch for the 1st parties, on launch.
I have no idea why Nintendo haven't been able to do proper launches for 20 years.
Mario Kart because it's cheap in the bundle, bros are getting it too
Bravely Default if it's uncensored
Rune Factory, didn't think of switch 2 fps boost until now so it's shelved when the deluxe arrives until then
this probably aint a launch buy for me.
Mario Kart is cool and definitely a heavy hitter, but it doesn't have the same draw for me that breath of the wild did and even that I ended up getting a little later than release
What do you actually do in it? Is it just a Sleeping Dogs/GTA clone?
You're basically a mercenary in a gigantic open world futuristic city. You have a main storyline involving trying to save yourself from a mind-meld implant but there's hundreds of hours of questlines to indulge. You'll take on jobs which can range from minor heists to full on gang warfare. Some simple quests suddenly turn into huge 10 hour long adventures. It's a fucking fantastic rpg/adventure game and there's really nothing else quite like it around.
Nintendo deserves to have another Wii U level failure just for these prices.
Nintendo is for small children. Grow up.
GTA6 - !
Oh men, this bait is so bad that it actually hurt me physically.
Grow up.
The ironing.
The idea of playing multiplayer FZGX is appealing.
Yeah, but first-person and not as fun, with worse AI, worse shooting, worse driving, worse level design, a worse open world with tranny set dressing, failed attempts at irony that make Randy Pitchford look like Philip K. Dick, and with 20+ hours of cutscenes/dialogue featuring a forgettable cast of characters who are actually maybe more memorable than I give them credit for, but for all the wrong reasons. Chief among them, the player character; Jesse Pinkman.
tl;dr
It's more like a shittier version of Far Cry that looks and plays worse than Far Cry 4, written by the team that developed New Dawn.
I WAS gonna get Bravely Default HD remaster but it's a dumb fucking "game key card"
What the fucking is wrong with Square that they can't put a 11gb 3DS game on a switch cartridge?
I'm 38 and play exclusively on PC. Grow up.
yeah. nothing i want to play 'til september, so might as well wait.
0 new games
$700AU
That's a shockingly bad lineup, is that real?
What's different about Mario Kart World?
Where the FUCK is Mario Maker 3?????
Kunitsugami and Mario Kart. Probably some F Zero GX since I never played it.
zelda. or maybe zelda. oh therres mario. then mario. and then zelda, then maybe mario uhh what do i play next uhhh maybe zzelda or mario
Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
What exactly makes it a new edition over the original other than the fact its on newer hardware?
I'm 38 and sit at a desk to play video games
don't knock classic Ridge Racer man, those games are pure arcade racing kino
one of the launch titles is a 30 year old arcade game that was also a launch title on the ps1
BOTW launched on Wii-U as well, so there was really no reason to buy a switch for the 1st parties, on launch
Nobody wanted to buy a Wii U to play it when you could buy a switch for the same price to play it on a true handheld with better performance too.
shill this game pls
he doesn't know that he can hook up a PC to a TV
How does it feel being a 12 year old tech illiterate zoomer? Also, you'll be the one who's going to play on a desk just to justify the existence of the new mouse feature
When I was a small child I would get $30 games on my Game Boy. Now the handheld games are $80. It's no longer for children.
So? Not a fucking exclusive you faggot
t. Wii U owner
I bought a Wii U for BotW back when Switch supply was low thanks to faggot scalpers.
Nintendo Land was not shit, you just didn't have the friends to properly enjoy it.
you'll be the one who's going to play on a desk just to justify the existence of the new mouse feature
No sweetie, I'll be playing Elden Ring on my porch swing, watching the sunset, with a chilled beer.
I also own a Wii U, it doesn't change my argument. People bought a Switch to play BotW as nobody in the right mind would buy a Wii U to play it over a Switch.
As of now, yes. Unless they pull some shit out of their ass before launch, this is a pretty pathetic line-up.
I sleep
Snoys are truly delusional.
Kunitsu-Gami is the best game here and that includes the Gamecube games and Ridge Racer.
i've been playing it for the first time recently and it's the most bewildering and spectacular RPG i've played since i put a thousand hours into heavily modded Skyrim after first building my PC around 2013. it's fucking sorcery they were able to do half the shit that's in 2077 because on more than one occasion i've experienced something that made me go, "goddamn, i bet Bethesda couldn't do that." truly a masterpiece in it's current state.
it's kinda like first-person GTA if GTA wasn't shallow as shit outside the main storyline.
it's like GTA and Skyrim combined. you've got the big open world cityscape and a main narrative to explore and shoot up, but it's also COVERED in side quests to undertake in exchange for XP to level and cash to buy new guns, clothes, apartments, cars, and cyberware with. once you get into Phantom Liberty, there are random supply drops around Dogtown that are cool as shit. you seem them go down and shoot up red smoke, then when you close in there'll be a whole squad of goons protecting/trying to open them. so you can assault their position and take the supplies for yourself. they're like regular, procedurally generated hit squads with sick loot. it's a stellar game. cannot praise it enough if you're a fan of Bethesda games or single player RPGS in general.
you know, that is actually completely reasonable. despite it's shortcomings and the fact i never beat it, DDDA tried some pretty innovative stuff. certainly more innovative than copying the Banjo Koozie Nuts and Bolts building mechanics like they did for BotW 2. lol
mario kart and zelder
PS4: Knack, Killzone Shadowfall
PS5: Demon's Souls, Sackboy
And it's unironicaly the best game.
this lineup is somehow sadder than the ps4's
Kinda, when it comes to arcade games Sega has always been superior to Namco.
tfw consoletards always have to cope with shitty launch lineups every gen
As a PCking, I never had such problem
I don't buy Sony consoles or games past the PS2 era. The Switch 2 launch line-up is just bad, anon. Especially with them holding back the new DK game until AFTER the consoles launch.
But now it's by far one of the best single player games of the generation.
I would laugh, but the generation is so shit that this may be even true.
so they literally only have two exclusives so far? not counting the tech demo because no retard should we will have mario kart at launch and then dk a month later.
and then there's like three more exclusive slated for 2026, while the rest feels eerily like the wiiu again with the "oh, here's a tripleA game everyone has already played" and "here's wii game again but U this time"
Mario Kart since I only buy Nintendo systems for Nintendo games. Looking forward to Donkey Kong, MP4 and Legends ZA though
Looking forward to Donkey Kong
The new Donkey Kong game looks absolutely amazing.
They're probably just trying to lean more on 3rd parties to fill in gaps compared to how they would do so with 1st party ports/remakes on Switch 1. I'm really surprised launch only has 1 first party game though.
what more could you possibly want?
A new F-Zero game that isn't tied to a subscription service just to be able to play it. Having 2 first party racing games on the Switch 2 is good enough of an excuse to have a third one, especially since Mario Kart is doing some Forza shit.
Mario Kart, Fortnite and Delta Rune.
MKW. Already own BOTW/TOTK but I'll get the upgrades when I'll replay them. Tempted by CP2077 so I can play it on the go but only if it's 100% physical. I don't buy digital shit
Do we know if my shitty switch controllers work with switch 2? specifically the pro controller?
I heard the pro controller works fine.
Street Fighter 6 Fighters Edition is an amazingly awful subtitling.
What pisses me off the most is the absolute lack of a message system, fucking basic ass shit they're afraid to implement since it'd require actual fucking effort to moderate.
Not getting this thing at $450, maybe someday I'll buy a used one for Fast Fusion. Criminally underrated racing games. They are the F-Zero successor everyone is constantly bitching about.
Nothing, only buying the console in hopes of a zero day or early firmware exploit.
I'd be lost in her vagina, if you know what I mean.
its called a phone
Fuck you
this is actually something someone who wasn't born when the Wii U launched would say. LOL
Probably one of my switch games because my switch is a 2017 thing that overheats and is slow as shit.
Mario Kart I guess. Pretty underwhelming to be honest.
I can't believe wario world 2 is here and it's a donkey kong game.
I'll stick to my PC
I'll pirate those later if I feel like it
The Switch 2 is in a way better position than the Wii U thanks to backwards compatibility with a userbase that's actually still active unlike the Wii's grandma and soccer mom userbase.
could someone purposely copy the game key card on the boxart before someone else buys it?
Yakuza 0.. Ridge racer from 93.. Really.
Mario kart the only big budget Nintendo title? No Mario, no zelda.. Jesus. We live in a world where Nintendo are throwing out 60 fps patches for Wii u ports and calling it a day
Fuck no, closest you'll get to that will be Wii classic console hotd 2+3 goy
Probably Breath of the Wild.
Mario kart the only big budget Nintendo title?
and it's open world so it's the perfect excuse for them to not having to design maps
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASED
They must really be confident that the new Mario Kart can carry launch period if it's the only new 1st person title for launch period.
Mario Kart 8 is still on the top 10 Japanese sales charts.
These weird Wii u style ports
random yakuza 0 port
cyberpunk hi, remember this edition
Its just like when batman arkham city was on Wii u or skyrim came to switch years too late for anyone to care. Weird shit
That's a whole lot of PC games
Don't really feel like buying just for Mario kart
When the hell is enter the gungeon 2
Wipeout 3? Wut
my steam deck
fortnite (on PC)
I know it's a handheld, but man I thought the processing power would be closer to an RTX 2050 not a fucking GTX 1650. Performance for some games is gonna be worse than I'd hoped. I'm also assuming DLSS was turned on for some of the games shown like CP and FF7R.
DK seems to be what they're putting out as their new major 3d platformer instead of Mario
But alas nintys need their red cap italian boy to convince them a game is good
