Not like this. It would fit on the fucking cartridge

Not like this. It would fit on the fucking cartridge

drm.png - 603x711, 238.89K

Reminder that Nintendo also plans on putting Denuvo on all their games to prevent PCchads from pirating them.

Fucking expected it. I think Cyberpunk is the only one that will be complete of the big multiplatform releases.

Tarnished Edition

literally putting in the title that it will be downgraded

Kek Switch 2 dead on arrival

I will gladly pay $90 for a game download key you fucking Snoy PC vegan kill yourself

Wish they did this with dark souls switch 2bh. My biggest gripe with the port is the compressed audio to fit it on the cartridge.

If you can resell it with ease then I don't think it's a big issue (you will not be able to resell it with ease)

physical media enthusiasts are gonna start roping soon

buying anything other than 1st party exclusives on a closed ecosystem platform

Kek

penguinmario.jpg - 224x224, 8.33K

Tarnished edition comes with the basegame, the DLC, the Mirrah set, and a Carian armorset for Torrent

I'm confused. Does this install the data on the card or the Switch?

/thread

It would fit on the fucking cartridge

Would it? Are Switch 2 cartridges >64 GB? Game's fucking big.

If they could fit it on the card, they would've done so already mate. It installs on the switch.

bamco cant bother optimizing
and it has the dlc along with it, too

It's basically a fully downloaded game that you use the gamecard as a key to access that downloaded game. It's better since if you resell it someone else can access it compared to the old download code method

It installs it on the Switch. It's used for games that are too big to fit on the carts themselves. Elden Ring is a big game.

It's a cartridge with a 10kb key. Once you put it in the Switch 2 it will download the game. You will not be able to play the game without the cartridge. The upside seems to be that it's not a one use key (since it requires the cartridge to run at all).

snoy humor

Technologically inept retard

Thank you pirates and leakers for ruining physical media forever...

The same snoys and PC vegans crying about download keys also own all their games on Steam or buy physical PS5 games which are just download codes

CD projeckt has ALL of Cyberpunk 2077 on the cartridge, so that means the cartridges can reach 100 fucking gigs or more.

Why don't they just delete 2.2 GB of useless stuff?
But I know the real reason is of course money. The 'game key cards' are way cheaper to produce than actual cards

Steam makes it so you can't resell your game keys

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, THIS IS ANTI-CONSOOMER!

Nintendo makes it so you can resell your game keys

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, THIS IS A WASTE OF PLASTIC!

I hate you niggas

Kek

64GB actually

buy physical item that allows you to download a digital game

So it becomes useless when the servers inevitably shut down?

Isn't that basically the same shit the PS4, PS5, Xbox and switch already has?

they can't fit the game on the cartridge so it's a glorified download key that installs it on your switch

this, stupid fucking retards who kept stealing and emulating switch games on launch are the morons who led to this

you're right that open ecosystems are better, but if GabeN goes or Nvidia GPUs dont drop, you lose everything

You should be able to play it if you have the data downloaded already, I think? The cartridge is essentially your cdkey. It's a form of DRM.

Pray tell how can I resell my *digital* Switch game keys?

Is Elden Ring actually good? The idea of an open world Souls sounds dumb as hell but it's got a lot of positive buzz.

So when the servers go down, the cartridge becomes a worthless hunk of plastic with no use or resell value.

Anyone who buys multiplats on Switch deserves to suffer.

everyone's physical collection is 100% Mario Zelda and Pokemon instead of 80%

Big brain Nintendo moves.

Wondering how this will run. Might pick it up because of her.

hq720.jpg - 686x386, 39.17K

They will also charge 80 to 90 dollars for it. The PS5 game disk cost 45$ brand new online.

L466522525.jpg - 150x150, 7.89K

It's the worst Souls game.

Its fucking atrocious, imagine instead of having a cohesive world that leads to meaningful locations. You have speckles of actual content in an ocean of shit.

$90 for 5 years old game.

Yeah, it's good fun. Run around wherever you want and kill enemies, explore mini-dungeons and bigger dungeons and plunder stuff and have fun. The DLC is even more stylized and harder, but also a lot of fun too.

Yes, but now Nintendo is doing it so retarded niggers need to freak out. Just like the digital storefronts on Xbox and Playstation games have been sold for years at 90+ dollars

This is the type of shit pc gaming has being doing for many years, Bethesda has been doing this since at least since Skyrim.
Games for pc are just keys and nothing more.

tarnished by the smell of nintendo edition

You get both Elden ring and the DLC fucking retard so it's cheaper than everyone who bought the base game + the dlc.

Correct

How sad

It's the best

Isn’t that expected, or are switch cartridges able to hold more than a disc?

$10 extra for an empty box.

Is this also factoring in the cost of the online subscription that is necessary in order to enjoy a core part of the game

Trannies can't understand anything

It's fucking 2025, how can't they just make cartridges with more space? You can't tell they can't figure this shit out to make it profitable.

Is Nintendo really going all digital with the Switch 2? That's going to hurt their sales a lot.

I told you fags that most games on Switch 2 would use those or be digital only because the file sizes are too big for cartridges. The only company being based is CDPR when they also were the only company to use a large ass cartridge for Witcher 3 on the Switch 1.

It's a fucking monkey's paw because eventually the Switch ecosystem will drop support for these game cards and the servers will shut down and these cards that are glorified licenses will be small little bricks that do nothing. You won't be able to put them into your console and download the game once Nintendo shuts down their servers.

I mean that is true for all consoles.

I think I’m gonna go full piracy at this point. What’s the fucking point of any of this shit when you don’t own anything.

Cyberpunk is getting a 64gb cartridge.

Elden Ring 100% could’ve fitted if they wanted it to

I will have sell it by then so no beggie.

fitted

Same magicians who made Witcher 3 work on Switch 1 I’d presume.

so it's just air? Not picking it up then

Where is the guy who's recently been posting a pic of his Switch library laughing at "steam trannies" for not owning their games right now? Already kys'd himself?

Based Cyberpunk, will buy it and skip incel ring

Buy a game key game and then delete and redownload it hundreds of times so Nintendo loses money on bandwidth costs and then sell it.

That cartridge probably costs $30 as opposed to spending $5 on a disc. They don't want to sell Switch 2 copies if they lose $25 on a sale that could have been done another platform. Get used to this because EVERY day and date multiplat will be doing this unless it's a game with a very small file size, but even then Bravely Default is only 11GB and it's still using a game key card.

Just assume the third party game support will be fucked, buy them on a different platform and only buy Nintendo games on the Switch 2.

mock steamfags for non physical media and DRM

mock sonyshitters for their no disc drive sku

you lot deserve this

this will never happen to mario or zelda though

Funny!

They saw the 15fps it ran at on Switch 2 and named it accordingly.

Ok but can we talk about how obnoxious the new box face frame thing is? Look at all that unused plain red space. The top strip is thick as fuck.

Nier Automata is like 44 GB on Steam but only 10 GB on Switch. Though that one's on Platinum for being so fucking shit at optimizing that over half of that 44 GB is under ten minutes worth of pre-rendered cutscenes. Without audio.

THE ONLINE PASS IS BACK
TENDIES WILL DEFEND THIS

physicalfags will gladly pay that just for the spine

This take has always been so fucking stupid.
Who cares yes we know the switch isn't the perfect platform for some games but little Timmy who only has a switch isn't going to care that he gets shittier frame rates and resolutions because he's not going to get a PS5 XBOXSX or PC. Having games playable on as many platforms as possible is a good thing and anyone who disagrees with that needs to stop sucking the dick of whichever company that doesn't care about them they've chosen to obsess over

Goodness the Switch 2 box is ugly. It's borderline offensive how ugly it looks.

Buy switch 2

Comes with only 256gb

Can literally only fit 4 third party "physical" games

Amazing, truly amazing.

The shit audio isn't due to compression, it's actually due to the Switch handling that particular audio codec poorly. Thanks Nintendo.
There's a mod for hacked Switches that replaces the audio with different codec, and it sounds properly high quality + doesn't increase the filesize much

Download codes boxes existed in the ps4 and x1 tough.
Same for switch1. This doesnt chabge anything excpet i can sell the gamekey this time.

ITT: Retards

IMG_1279.jpg - 1024x1024, 164.96K

It was made for the ps4, so it'll run on the nintendo phone no problem. Hell, my fridge could probably run it. Gaming has stagnated.

The price of micro sd express cards makes it worse. It's $60 for 256gb more and $200 for 1tb. It seriously feels like a joke. I also wonder what happens for games like BotW and TotK if you have the physical cartridge and buy the $10 upgrade for improved assets. I'm assuming they make you download those to your system.

didn't read

Using a switch 1 game as an example

Absolute retardation

will also be

OP thinks this means exclusively

What a fucking retarded thread holy shit. It's just as retarded as selling a CD key in a box.

ah, thank you. I wonder if it will sound better on stock switch 2 in that case.

i wish CDPR didn't have the stain that is the CP2077 release because outside of that they're usually doing good

if things go as expected for nintendo

we are please with how these game key cards are recieved, we have moved forward to now only sell digital codes of game to save on material costs

if things are not going so well (like right now)

it appears that game key cards are not the way our customers like us to go, so we have instead will like to offer our customer game code cards to buy at retailers and we shall discontinue game key cards. thank you for understanding

either fucking way, Nintendo gets what they want and we're fucked on own physical media,

Where should i play ER? PS5 or Switch 2?

next console goes digital only

game key cards are worthless

digital codes are still tied to your account

Even now you have to put in the game key card every time you want to play the game as opposed to not needing to do that with the code in a box. Like congrats, Nintendo managed to use the same system the Xbox does. At least the PS5 installs off the disc for most games.

PC

Cyberpunk is on a 64GB cart so Elden Ring would fit on one

Noooo you don't understand, Nintendo NEEDS to charge out the ass for their shitty games because they're on carts, it's expensive to make!

Threadly reminder that shazam lost

Physical is doomed either way

Cry more

PS5 unless you want to deal with indians and cheaters on PC

reselling is bullshit, i have never once resold a switch game despite thinking this

physical format is obsolete before the console even launched

genius. this is like shipping a console with a 100gb hard drive in 2025. this is just so insanely dumb. this is the kind of thing that should happen towards the end of a consoles lifespan not at fucking launch.

Is a patch. You use the physical catridge still.
Also express to normal sd is like ssd to hdd.
Is just the progression of the tech. Same as how ssd Is standard in PC games now.

PC so you don't have to pay to use your internet, Otherwise get the PS5 version it will be cheaper and run better.

Get used to not owning your games lmao
That will be $70 + tip btw

i'll still buy my games physical when i can but i don't have a gamestop nearby anymore since it closed during covid and i'm not going to pay astronomical prices from gougers. but i see the writing on the wall, it truly is sunsetting.

it's best played in casual intervals so I'd say the handheld

Why are third party companies so insanely greedy, man, I'm never gonna buy digital games. Forget it.

Well i not everyone thinks like you. I can get botw and totk for 40 bucks on second hand market.

play-asia confirms this

Both these listings say preliminary and only one of them says Game-Key Card... So maybe they're selling two versions, but this is 300% not confirmed at all.

$80 for a five year old game I can already play on a superior handheld SHIT WHAT ARE YOU DOING AHAHAHAHABAHA

the day i'm forced to buy digital games on consoles is the day i fully switch to PC

If it was on the cartridge they'd come with the data already, smartass. They want to save on memory, it'll probably be very expensive if you consider it needs to have at least MicroSD Express speeds. We are back to < N64 days where cartridge size has to be considered from a business standpoint.

Yeah but those patched files will be saved on the Switch 2 or the SD card. It's not going to overwrite the files on the cartridge, the question is if it downloads the whole game when it downloads those files or just the new assets and I think it'd be the former but I'm not really sure. Either way, storage space is going to fill up quicker than I think most people realize. The Micro SD express card will practically be mandatory, which sucks because of the pricing for it. You can get a 1TB NVME for $60 instead of a 256gb card, you can get a 4TB NVME for $200.

Making consoles with outdated hardware and charging full price LE GOOD

You say that while also complaining about other console fanboys, you’re an idiot.

people pirating on PC don't have a switch and never would buy one or the games

harm paying customer's experience for literally zero profit

sounds like nintendo, alright

No. It's a download. The cart only has the key

Anon this isn't like Sony or Microsoft, if the game is on the cartridge (like Cyberpunk) you won't need to install the game in the internal storage

its a 90$ cd key you can resell

Everyone is. WTF you mean.
That's why things like Yuzu or Ryujinx exist.

pointing out shitty and retarded practices is bad now

CDPR was the only company to actually use the big cartridge on the Switch 1, most third party games are going to use these game key cards instead. Maybe some small indie games that are 5mb won't but the majority will because file sizes are bloated as fuck now. Black Ops 6 is 300gb, that's the most notorious example.

This isn't even confirmed for Elden Ring. But game key cards are literal physical carts that just require a download when you insert them. Most games don't use them and Nintendo is putting huge labels on boxes of Game-Key Cards.

SeeIt also looks like this elden ring freakout is based on Play-Asia making 2 placeholder webpages. So this is anything but confirmed for Elden Ring

Shit they're selling $100 keys now? That's crazy

lol

Lmao

It's better since if you resell it someone else can access it compared to the old download code method

Do you actually know this or are you just assuming? And either way, it's worse, since at some inevitable point in the future nobody is going to be able to download the game anymore, butchering its resale value.

Most games don't use them

Nearly every third party game announced so far uses it other than Cyberpunk. Fucking Bravely Default uses it.

Nintendo's own support page literally says they work like normal switch cartridges.

Two versions would be nice. Cheaper game kike version and more expensive full version.

Elden Ring is a big game.

For you

Every third party announced

Bravely Default and Street Fighter

I think you mean literally only two games that we have boxart for.

Most games don't use them

Most games are using them.

cartridge costs $30

disc costs $5

What the fuck are these prices? Are you fucking high?

Elden Ring is the newest game to use it.

Stranger things have happened. Look at how there has been a semi resurgence in dvd/bluray buyers and fucking vinyl sections in walmart. I would not give up the possibility of an external drive attachment being a thing for "digital only" hardware.

Reminder that Denuvo for the switch doesn't exist and Irdeto lied about being a middleware developer.

There might only be a full version. I've seen no real evidence that Elden Ring is even getting a Game-Key cartridge.

Two have been revealed for sure and one is already a GaaS shit hunk anyway.

Elden Ring is the newest game to use it.

Proof? Because a placeholder page for play-asia doesn't count.
Because they made two pages and labeled them "preliminary"

The internet is the worst thing that ever happened to this slave species

Elden Ring is a big game

It's like 50 gigs. Cyberpunk is 59.
They could have definitely got it on the cart.

Cartridges are more expensive then discs. $30 for a 64GB card might be correct but an 128GB cartridge is probably $40.

2017.png - 623x213, 20.37K

Agreed.

Literally only Bravely Default and Street Fighter are confirmed

*tips fedora and raises scotch*
hehe, "amen"

It's 45 gigs for the base game and 16 gigs for the DLC. The Tarnished Edition is a complete edition, like Dark Souls Remastered/Scholar of the First Sin/The Fire Fades, so that includes Scholar of the Erdtree. That's 61 gigs total to fit on a cart.

40fps docked

So third parties are essentially digital games on switch 2?

Gamestop will fucking hate it. Noob will buy activated cards and unable to resell them

Sales on other platforms that have had Elden Ring for two years, plateaued and stagnated.

posts link that don't mention Game-Key Cards at all

lmao, retard-sama

And cyberpunk can manage 70gigs.
You should have paid attention and realised I didn't mention the post dlc file size for it for a reason.

Look next to the name, friend.

Elden Ring [Tarnished Edition] Game Key Cart

>people pirating on PC don't have a switch and never would buy one or the games

The point is to say fuck you to the woke vegans posting on Anon Babble how they're emulating Nintendo games (and not playing), that is all.

WE'RE SAVED ACTUALLY

not_drm.png - 599x212, 25.89K

And we know that play-asia is 100% correct on this?

It's cheaper for publishers until the games don't sell anyway.

NTA but click on it

"cheaper for publishers"

"We're still gonna charge you 80 dollars for it though lol "

Yeah fuck this thing

And either way, it's worse, since at some inevitable point in the future nobody is going to be able to download the game anymore, butchering its resale value.

As apposed to not actually being able to resell it ever because you bought a code in a box?

Yeah, Nintendo is going to make them put a big dumb warning label on the front so that'll definitely help sales

They most likely have the product info if they're listing it, yes. It makes sense for companies not want to buy a 64gb cartridge as well, especially Bamco.

Yeah, if there's one thing Nintendo fans are stanchly dedicated to its physical games.

This is even worse than cloud versions. Okay it's not, but it's still bad, I already hate installing physical games, but downloading them!?

Nintendo should have just done what Sony and MS do and not have any of this info on the box and just call the download a day 1 patch.

It makes sense for companies not want to buy a 64gb cartridge as well, especially Bamco.

Or, you know, you could just take a day to actually optimise it instead of killing your sales. Especially for Bamco which is an incredibly large and rich company.

Well fuck

The good news is it'll should have a big white banner on the real boxart showing that it's a download cartridge

Tarnished Edition

They realize these words mean ‘the shitty version’, right? I’m all one for theme but Jesus Christ, it’s going to be Dead Rising Wii all over again and they already named it ‘tarnished’

on the Switch, the physical game card is just a big waste of storage space that will forever remain mostly empty making you feel bad buying physical games, YOU BITCH

Only MS and Sony can get away with that. Nintendo would get eaten alive.

look guys I'm making fun of Nintendo! please forget that sony tried selling you a $700 console with no games!

Yeah, being transparent about which games are and aren't on the disc/cartridge is really fucking them over here. Everyone else does this and nobody cares. Nintendo makes 3rd parties label their games differently and everyone throws a fit.

So since 3rd party physical games are mostly digital anyways and that "physical" games are actually more expensive. What's the point of buying them?

You know, I probably would have actually bought it if it were an actual physical game. I mean, I already have it on PC but I haven't touched it since it beat Margit because sitting at my desk isn't comfortable for long gaming sessions.

can't sell them but atleast now you can loan them out to friends and family that live physically near you.

That costs money, using fuckhuge cartridges also costs money. They LOSE MONEY if they put the entire thing on cartridge compared to someone buying it on another platform or digitally, they'd rather release it digital only like Doom and Doom Eternal did but these game keys are a middle ground where they can still have their games on store shelves.

That's why none of these company are going to use Nintendo's proprietary cartridge for these games unless they're incredibly based like CDPR. This will be especially true for day and date multiplats that release on other systems, they will all be these game keys because every physical Switch 2 sale instead of a Steam or PS5/Xbox sale would lose them money. That means the line goes down, that's the worst thing imaginable.

There is no point, it's a mark of shame to show you which companies you shouldn't support because of their Jewish tendencies.

Collections. At this point we have to hope that nothing happens to GOG or the other emulators or else that's it for game preservation. The "I want to own my games" thing is basically done, so preservation is the last real leg left.

resell

The previous switch has to be erased off your Nintendo account before the key can be transferred to a new console. It's locked to the account you use to download it.

you could instead lose some weight

I WAS gonna buy this, just for the novelty, not anymore, fuck them lol, I'm not buying a single game that does this shit, they can keep them.

What's the resell value when the Switch online services turn off in the future?

I should specify that when I say physical Switch 2 I don't mean these cards that only have the license on them that are probably 1mb or less and cost nothing compared to a real cartridge.

"Game key carts" are not tied to your account. The only difference they have with a physical game is that they download the whole thing, think about it like a big update. So you can sell it.
In the future when the servers are down they will become useless, yes, but it's an improvement over getting a cd key in a box.

or if the next switch is digital only after these get people used to downloading all their games.

They're wasting money doing these at all because physical buyers wont buy them enmass, as opposed to if they had spent more and made them worth buying. At this point, they should have just said download only.

That costs money, using fuckhuge cartridges also costs money

Yes, fuck huge amounts of money they not only already have but would have received had they made it physical instead.

they'd rather release it digital only like Doom and Doom Eternal

Uh, anon. They've both been released physically.

she's not in the game

Yup, I'm not buying a single game that does this shit.

It's a mix. The open world is tiring because it's mostly just random groups of enemies scattered around between caves, ruins, and actual levels. The levels are great, the caves and ruins are all unique but do get a bit repetitive. Overall it's a 2 steps forward 1 step back kinda thing but it's not actually bad, just not quite all there
The open world with mini-dungeons is actually kinda nice for a souls game because if you get stuck one some boss or area you can just go somewhere else instead of getting burnt out trying over and over or farming
The actual levels (big castles, hogwarts, capital, snake waifu mansion) are top tier with anything from has ever done
the expansion is shit, there's like two separate expansions merged badly together and one is decent but the other is unfathomably retarded crap and it's hard to enjoy anything of any quality if it's mixed with shit

they'd rather release it digital only like Doom and Doom Eternal

Doom was released 100% physically and didn't require an additional download.
Eternal on the other hand was digital but had a LRG release also without an additional download.

Pretty much, no cute anime girls in the game, just ugly westoid femoids and that Matrix actor.

Fuck you shill you can do all that with actual physical copy. This garbage contain no game and you have to go online and download it. It's not physical copy also in future Nintendo could control how many times you can reinstall it etc and kill used market with switch 3. Fuck you.

PCchads

*PC vegans

Basedeo boycott the scam.

leave nintendo alone!

you literally have no evidence that nintendo will do this

My bad with the original Doom, I combined it with Eternal when that wasn't the case.

reminder nintendo can take away "your" games at any time

That's not what that means.

you deserve this.

That's like saying your games are taken away every time a rom site or torrent is taken down.

I didn't read the thread but Switch 2 boxes are fucking ugly, man. Like hella yikes! What was Nintendo thinking?

There goes 50+ of the 256GBs the Switch 2 has.

They can fit the game on the cartridge, but it would mean that they earn $5 less for each game sold since they have to include a slightly larger capacity cartridge.

so nintendo lets you backup your own games then?

they're a huge downgrade for no reason, it's like they wanted to shove switch 2 on it as annoyingly as possible so people realize it exists. the wii u must have traumatized the fuck out of nintendo.

What was Nintendo thinking?

"Who cares, they'll buy it anyway. Also, make it cost $80."

That's just blatantly untrue because according to leaked Sega documents they're the ones that started the conversation about it.

it means you can fucking play the games you have downloaded on your system even when the shop closes
if you didn't download all of the games you purchased on the wii shop when having multiple years of knowing this that's on you, digital wii shop games are hardly big and you can put them on sd cards

They don't legally have a say.

your post

Absolute retardation

There are no leaked documents and irdeto doesn't appear on the middleware section of Nintendo's site.

they're the ones that started the conversation about it.

If irdeto was the one who started the "conversation" about it then they aren't reliable.

They thought "we got an additional $200 million from raising the price on TotK, what if we do that again, but double it?"

this anon thinks it's a matter of sdcard space

it means you can fucking play the games you have downloaded on your system

until it breaks

They don't legally have a say.

so just rely on third party hacks which they are actively trying to eliminate?

You don't install standard game cards, numbnuts

Only Sony fags make fun of muh children’s console

take meds unironic basedboy

until it breaks

Just like everything else. Even then you can just repair it.

It was the same on Xbox, not sure on snoy.

T-Take that duckies! We get to le own E-...

PFAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAA

Anything that pisses off emulatorfags on this board is based. Third-world thieves.

*deckies
Seething bootlicker

Only games that get standard game cards are first-partyslop that's like 500mb in size

Grim.

how low can tendies go?

Base game is pretty good, dlc was shit

Just like everything else

so in the past when my console broke all my game discs broke too?

Even then you can just repair it.

or they could let me backup the games i bought to an external drive and play them on a fucking emulator until the end of time

The Switch 2 banner design is so fucking ugly lmfao.

until it breaks

everything electronic breaks eventually you dumb fuck, you seriously think all nes/snes systems and carts in the world still work?

they could let me backup the games i bought to an external drive

Then do it, nothing is stopping you.

There's no reason talking with backupfag.

everything electronic breaks eventually

so i shouldnt be allowed to own my games because my console will eventually break one day?

Then do it, nothing is stopping you.

except nintendo who are trying to make hacking impossible on all their new systems.

imagine how much more money they'd make if they made the cases look good though.

t. retard that spent $10 more on ps5 versions of games because i liked the case better.

Cyberpunk is also on a standard game cart

So Elden Ring is basically the first "Souls" that will never have a complete edition with DLC on disk/game card. I was really looking forward to this particular version since i only buy physical games, but if the news is true, i'll stick with the japanese PS4 version

so i shouldnt be allowed to own my games because my console will eventually break one day?

Of course you own your games, but if the thing you're playing them on is broken, it's broken.

so when a game console broke in the past you couldn't just buy a new one to play your games on?

Buy a new fucking Wii and then put the storage in the new one, it's not hard.

If you can't tell the difference between downloading games off a website that will be replaced with a new one, and not being able to redownload games that you bought with your money your retarded.

Muh modding

This is how Nintendo gets away with robbing your own purchases, being able to easily mod your Wii doesn't change that your purchases were stolen from you.

But it's digital

That exactly what these companies want you to believe that digital has no value so they can screw the customer over anytime they can get away with it. Enjoy your "own nothing and be happy" future.

until all wiis break. because like you said everything electronic will eventually break. this could literally all be solved by nintendo just allowing me to backup roms to an external drive and play them on an emulator. it's not a problem for the wii but every new console has more sophisticated ani-hacking measures than the last. switch emulators are dead and it's likely switch 2 emulators will also become a target for nintendo. if you can't see why this is an issue you deserve to have your consumer rights taken away you fucking idiot.

nintendo isn't the only company preventing you from backing up roms and playing them on emulators you retarded fuck
this applies to every single game as a whole, go find a different hobby if you're so fucking upset about it

woke broken DEI polack slop that nobody cares about is complete on game card

top 10 game of all time is a download code

Your wifes boyfriend said its time to stop posting and go back to the cuck shed

They didn't even put the Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC on Blu-ray, I don't know what you're yapping about, Bandai Namco is just greedy

2017

Just a heads up storage has decreased in price immensely since then. Also 60% more is still just a few pennies more.

>Tarnished Edition

Kek Switch 2 dead on arrival

Lol

The process will obviously start all over since Nintendo is making new faster cartridges with more storage space. It will take years for the prices to come back down again.

Nintendo

That's not how that works by the way. The faster carts now aren't nearly as "expensive" as the switch carts were then.
It's strange that you're this averse to holding developers to a higher standard.

Inb4 you can put a paper clip in the game cart slot and download any game

whataboutism

fucking idiot

I don't think it's strange to expect all of them to be greedy fucks that will continue to cut corners so they can keep the stock price rising for shareholders, as is their fiduciary responsibility. If it costs more to release games on certain platforms then each copy sold on that platform is potential money lost if someone would have bought it on a different platform instead that would have made them more money.

That's how companies look at it. That's why most third party games will use the Game Keys. This shit is a retread of the PS1 vs N64, the publishers like releasing where the margins are higher. The #1 place for that is digitally, thus they will ween the Switch audience that loves physical onto digital with this retarded system. But vouchers already helped with that anyway.

He literally didn't name another company and even if he did that's not whataboutism unless he is literally the president of nintendo

he's either a shill or a manchild bootlicker

Switch 2. PC isn't worthwhile due to all the thirdworlders.

So what's the point buying "physical" when it costs more and isn't physical lol?

I don't think it's strange to expect all of them to be greedy fucks that will continue to cut corners so they can keep the stock price rising for shareholders, as is their fiduciary responsibility

The problem with that is that it's costing them more than it would have had they just went physical anyway given they're going to lose out on a titanic amount of sales. Remember, digital adoption is still about 20-30%.

Good, time to suffer you fucking parasite

Nintendo could

Yeah but they arent right now. Is a better option tondigital codes that were used before.

No idea ask Steam trannies

Your picture is not true. There are games on switch 1 that include card and require a download to play.

hello tranny marketer

lets you share ganes between accounts

let you resell and share gamekeys

While is obvious most companies want to phase out physical media. This is a step in the right direction to let digital games have more versatility at least on consoles.

Think of it this way. Let's say 10 million people want to buy Elden Ring 2 and they're all idorts. Let's say that each Switch 2 copy earns the publisher $20 because the cartridges are $20 more expensive than a disc because the game is 100gb or some shit. For every digital or disc/digital copy they make $40, for every Switch 2 physical copy they make $20. They would need to sell 2 million Switch 2 physical copies to make as much money as 1 million copies elsewhere. Now let's say 3 million of those idorts buy the game in Switch 2, that's $60 million dollars lost.

People that ONLY buy games on Switch and ONLY buy physical make up a small subset of the gaming market. They exist but if people want to play the game they either suck it up and buy the Game Key version/ a digital copy or they buy it on another platform. Either way, the publisher wins. The Game Key version could sell half as many copies as a full physical release and still earn the publisher more money that way if it makes people buy the game on platforms that earn them more money instead(or if they buy digitally on Switch 2 instead).

Physical is great for consumers, especially these new carts that Nintendo is using with fast load times. But they're terrible for making money for publishers right now. That's why you're going to see most games pretending those really cool new cartridges don't exist and it's going to turn the low amount of storage space on the Switch 2 into a real issue.

How does that contradict the point ofnthe image? It will just replace that one too.

They're going to be selling physical game cartridges with codes for downloading the game.

You would've gotten laughed at for this statement if you brought it up years ago. What the fuck is this bullshit. They've been gutting physical releases for years now and they pull out this nonsense.

People will just delete and redownload...like other consoles.
Most people are used to deal withbspace issues not saying they are happy with it but it is not a deal breaker for most consumers.
Just adding to that i agree with your point is cheap way for publishers to support the switch.

would spend $800 for concert tickets

would spend $1000 for handegg superb owl tickets to sit behind a beam

can't spend $500 for a Switch 2 bundle

you can resell your download codes

That is actually really good tough.

if the technology is even remotely similar to the microsd express cards, there's 1TB cards available today.
that said, anything over 128GB is not even remotely affordable, much less for mass production.

Isn’t a disc on a ps5 pretty much this already?

Yeah but people dont like to face the truth about current gen consoles. The CD doesnt have the gane at all or barely has it

Switch game cartridges are read only. Like blurays.

Microsd express cards are expensive because they have fast writing speeds.

It's not as important as not needing to be online to play a game and have to wait to install it on a shitty 256mb storage space.

Reminder that Nintendo also plans on putting Denuvo on all their games to prevent PCchads from pirating them.

There is nothing to support this.
Denuvo developed a version of denuvo that was compatible with the Switch, but Nintendo never bought the service. No Switch1 games ever used it. So they never took Denuvo's bait.
Maybe that has changed. But do you have anything to support or hint at that if so? It's unlikely.

Yeah, I think a lot of people will just suck it up and buy a micro sd express card too for the extra quality of life.

Ive got enough awesome old games to last the rest of my life

It's living up to its name, i guess.
From all the possible gimmick names they had to go with Tarnished, really.

Not only that you need to pay a subscription to use a button on the fucking controller.

Is ussing express SD so you can expect fatser install times. Only issue is donwloads being capped by your Internet provider but i doubt you are gonna redownload a game 20 times and is a issues any other medium has.
Is a better solution to download codes that obviously needed a conection too to download.
It changes nothing imo. just give publishers and consumers that buy these alreayd existing games more flexibility. Not sure what is the issue in this thread outside being afraid it will make physical games go away by letting you sell these Keys.

name a SINGLE, MAJOR GAME COMPANY that lets you backup roms of their games and play them on an emulator
fucking faggot

You can back up games they cant stop you. You cant distribuye those copies.
Legales they cant stop you for the former but do the later.

would spend $800 for concert tickets

would spend $1000 for handegg superb owl tickets to sit behind a beam

posting this kind of whataboutism on Anon Babble is wacky

im arguing for industry-wide legislation that would force ALL game companies to allow you to do that fucking retard. nintendo is just the latest to implement more anti consumer bullshit and also happen to be the topic of the fucking thread you fucking retard

im arguing for industry-wide legislation that would force ALL game companies to allow you to do that fucking retard

and that's never going to fucking happen, no matter how much you fucking bitch about it you cunt
so go back to your shitty homebrew and emulators playing games at half speed or go find a different hobby

LEAVE!!!!

no, i dont think i will. faggot.

you would pay a lot of money for once in a life time experiences?

that means you must also pay a lot for a game system!

Go fuck yourself

marriage with Malenia ending where you hand over the world to the Scarlet Rot outer god?

not sneaking in

not sneaking in

not stealing

ngmi

Not gonna happen
Nintendo hates denuvo, as in they want to be the ones on control
I mean look what they did to not have to use discord, invested billions in that dumb camera thing

actually kinda crazy that they made their own little secluded discord, kids on every other platform can play together with crossgen games and be in the same discord call on their platform of choice.(mobile,pc,ps5,xbox) but nintendo wants you to pay for it and be segregated. honestly feels like a huge misstep because it alienates kids from each other.

physical download codes

lol
lmao

I have a 64gb memory card in my phone right now, and that's the lower end of storage available.

I’ve been spoiled by going to small club and bar shows since I was 14. I have never, ever paid more than $50 for a concert ticket.

"Ummm ackshully some games on switch are shitty ports that require you to download the majority of the game on on your harddrive"
Yeah, thats why Borderlands 3 and other games that pulled that crap sold like dogshit.
Now they want all of your games to be that dogshit.
No thanks

OIP.jpg - 326x250, 13.49K

sell like shit

Lol this is cope anon, someone post the graph of digital game sales being like 10x+ more than physical ones. These might even sale similar amounts as regular physical games because they're digital games you can sale while not having to worry about having a disc get damaged

PC if you have one obviously. If you must choose between PS5 and Switch 2 because you don't have a good enough PC, then just get the Switch 2 game if you're going to take advantage of the portability of a handheld.

Funnyroo!

Reminder that Nintendo also phased out Gold Points

but other company

PS4 edition on the PS5 runs the best, no idea what the performance will be like on the S2

If Nintendo is doing this why didn't they offer a cheaper digital only system? Of what use is the capability to play physical games if they're literally not releasing any physical games? Old Switch gams?

for digital purchases

Food analogy

And best of all a tarnished framerate

Physical releases are $10 more expensive too, right?
What were they thinking? I'd just go straight to digital if I have no tendie friends to pass it to
And imagine reselling a game key cart

2TB sd cards are like 200 dollars
Why cant they use those

sony has been doing this shit forever why is everyone mad now?

People actually buy Nintendo games

everyone made like 20+ threads when they started doing it, so i don't see how this is any different.
Also Swittchfags have the highest number of physicalfags.

so how long till some chink hacker makes a multipass key card to pirate everything?

It has some good ideas like more varied status effects but the open world sucks, the artstyle and gameplay is a downgrade from Souls 1/2, and they have basically downgraded fun for me because of how OP weapon arts and other things are but the game is also stupidly hard without them.

That's different from PS5 or Xbox SX, how?

They come with 1tb, for starters.

It's the best souls game because they put significantly more effort into it than any other game they've ever made by a good margin, to the point where Miyazaki said it's unlikely they'll ever be able to make something on the same scale again. The boss fights are easily the best in the series, both from a cinematic perspective and a gameplay perspective, and it actually has somewhat of a story, moreso than the rest of the souls games, without it ever getting in the way of the gameplay. Only downsides are open-world games usually have less replay value because exploring is part of the fun, and some of the optional dungeons/catacombs in the base game feel a bit samey. The DLC is also the biggest DLC they've put out, to the point where it's nearly an entire additional game, and some of the DLC bosses are easily the best bosses they've made (not including the final boss of the DLC, which was terrible).

if other companies are doing shitty things that means you can't shot on my favorite company for doing shitty things!
