SWITCH 2 OBJECTIVE BREAKDOWN

SWITCH 2 OBJECTIVE BREAKDOWN

GOOD:

MK World, looks genuinely fantastic

DK Bananza looks great

MP 4 at 120 FPS 4K

Joycon mouse

bigger screen

Kirby Forgotten Land DLC

Okay/Meh:

$450 price point, could have been worse

Kirby Air Riders 2, Air Riders was fine but was inferior to Double Dash

Nintendo camera and social features

Super Mario Party Jamboree expansion

Gamecube games coming to NSO + Expansion

Zelda musou slop 2

The bad:

$80/$90 games

$90 Joycons

pay for Switch 2 game upgrades, probably will be $30 or so which is awful

No new 3D Mario/3D Zelda

Switch 2 Welcome Tour costs money when we all know damn well it should have been a free bundled game

wheelchair basketball looks awful

Bloodborne 2 is just a PvPvE battle royale slop

Am I missing anything bros? Maybe some would move Kirby Air Riders 2 into the good section

MP 4 at 120 FPS 4K

Not quite, it's 4K 60, or 1080p 120.
Still good but not crazy.

Just disappointed in general. We got 3 real first party games? Why so little? We have gotten fuck all in the past two years what are their other devs doing? No new mario or zelda. Nothing from monolith, not even an enhanced edition game. No splatoon, etc.
Third party stuff is nice and all but I buy nintendo consoles to play nintendo games.

My copium is that they have more to announce later this year, we don't know what the big holiday release is supposed to be for example.

Can I just say how funny it is that Scarlet and Violet are getting a free boost but the textures will probably still somehow look like ass?

older switch titles get automatic performance upgrades

Day one buy

why in fuck did they not highlight these free performance updates in the direct?

hope it flops
i already lost all respect for this company when they abandoned animal crossing

wheelchair basketball looks awful

disagree with this one, i'm willing to give a shot. agree with almost everything else though.

Am I missing anything bros?

Empty cartridges that are just a license to play the game as long as it's installed, or Nintendo servers are up to be able to install them.

You're autistic and Nintendo sucks

Nah you're fine with most of your ok/meh stuff. I would only keep Air Ride in Okay because I need more info on it, once we get more and HOPEFULLY we will see if Sakurai has finally caught on that we really want City Trial for the third time now I can see it moving up.

This but you, and Valve.

You know, I think they was just trying to get all the bad news out, let everything coast along as it usually does for Nintendo then bring the info out when they have more games on that list.
That or I'm drunk.

You won’t be able to afford it thanks to the orange retard

turd polishing at it's finest
maybe finally the open world will run at anything more than 20fps

>MK World, looks genuinely fantastic

the graphics look like a step back from last gen

>DK Bananza looks great

this is what you get instead of a new 3d mario

>MP 4 at 120 FPS 4K

120 FPS or 4K + you need to pay an extra $20 for these features

>Joycon mouse

feature on pc for years

>bigger screen

not oled

>Kirby Forgotten Land DLC

you get this instead of a new game

you're a cultist. nothing you said was objective. nintendo is trash.

he doesn't have a job

shameful

The main question I have is should I take the plunge and buy a day one unit and keep it aside until someone unlocks it and I can have all the games for free?

I just about got in there with the Switch when I bought the Odyssey bundle.

they never said that. the performance upgrades need to be purchased.

you get this instead of a new game

a new kirby air ride was announced my dude

Buying ten games shouldn't cost you $800
This is asinine, I feel bad for today's parents, having to shell half a grand for their kids on Christmas, no shit they'd rather let them use their credit card on fortnite

I was going to flood the board with nintendo won shitposting but the price reveal was a cold shower, it's a shame because I'm really interested in MKW, it looks amazing, but not 530$ amazing

I already purchased the sub

$450 price point

$80/$90 games

$90 Joycons

You deserve this

What you erroneously refer to as 'consoles' are in fact just repackaged rebranded ARM PC's
I can see your confused and think they're different things, and there is a difference. your PC (that marketing has labled a console) cant play as many games as a normal non-locked down PC despite having all the required hardware to do so.
But they remain just that. PC's. We're all PC gamers. This PC just really sucks dick.

And you damned well know they'll use propriatary shit so you cant use thier shit on another PC. YOU HAVE TO BUY OUR SHITTY ARM PC GOYIM!

Lol bugmen are just going to cave in and start building In America when their products start flopping

$450 is fair for the hardware. It's an impressive piece of kit. The game prices are fucked though.

this.
Pricing of the peripherals (joycon 2's, switch 2 pro) are also really fucking pushing it

Not going to lie, I was left wanting more

Am I dissapointed I didn't get what I personally wanted? Sure. And I can't in good concious call it bad, but it was underwhelming.

Not for nothing, but I got Kirby Air Ride 2 and an exclusive Fromsoft game. But there should've been more of that, not fucking reheated left-overs from other platforms, shit we already knew about, indies that can be played on toasters, or spending 10 minutes on the goddamn c button.
I don't think it's too much to ask for big publishers to be more on their A game for the reveal of the next Nintendo console. I love Bravely Default with all my heart, and is one of my favorite games of all time, but what the fuck is SE doing treating a virtually unchanged port/remaster of a 3DS game as hypeworthy? Same goes for Sega having the balls to come out and say Yakuza 0 was their big reveal
Where's DQ12? Where's the Persona 4 remake? Where was Okami 2? Where was NG4? Where was literally anything actually new?

You can't rely on the same old "Nintendo is underpowered" excuse, the Switch is as close to closing the gap between power as Nintendo's been in years. They're certainly pricing it as a rival to the current gen slate of consoles

Again, I can't say it was "bad" exactly. After if you want to see a truly atrocious first reveal of a console the Wii U can be easily looked up, and see where they treated a goddamn Lego game as hype worthy, but still.

I'm not going to hold it against it for now, it's only the first direct and they have a few good reveals.

But if this is the new standard a year from now, we're going to have some fucking problems.

They'll probably announce more shit tomorrow and friday

Final Fantasy VII Remake port

No Rebirth

What in the Christ fuck is the point? Also how fucking shoddy will it look? The game already looks like ass on the PS4/5, let alone this dumpster fire.
Genuinely one of the most misguided console AND launch lineup since, well, the Wii U, which is all this piece of $450 shit is.

Sephirot.jpg - 129x50, 3.76K

I understand that Nintendo is deathly afraid of selling anything at a loss, but considering the price increases of games, I feel like they should have bit the bullet on the console. This is only gonna hurt them in the long run.

Why can't Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong run on the Switch (1)?

...why are the making two racing games at once?

Kirby Air Riders 2, Air Riders was fine but was inferior to Double Dash

And it's sequel all probably be an inferior MK World. Why bother?

$80/$90 games

That alone is a dealbreaker for me, especially since first party games rarely ever go on sale. Fuck that noise

MK World, looks genuinely fantastic

Do people really think so?
Easily looks like the most boring Mario Kart so far.

Nothing in the "Good" criteria strikes me as actually being good. Mario Kart and Donkey Kong both look like Switch games and they don't even look notable or interesting. After the lengthy, quality success of MK8 and its DLC, World feels like a new era for the Kart subfranchise in the same vein as Mario Party. I.E. dogshit after dogshit that is virtually unrecognizably different, and arguably gets worse over time.
I doubt the peformance claims, and while there's nothing to contradict them, there's nothing to support them either. Nintendo consoles run like shit, and most all of their first party developers suck at developing for them. I'm sure MP4 will run fine, but I will donate my left nut if it's 120fps, let alone 4k.
Who gives a shit about a joycon mouse?
Who the fuck plays handheld? Though I guess more power to them, if the fucking thing can handle any real games.
Fuck Kirby, and fuck paying again for a port with some reinserted cut content.

If they're releasing Gamecube games on NSO, does that mean that the controllers will have analog triggers?

Been holding off on BOTW+TOTK until they could be played at higher fps. Pretty excited to also play Mario Kart

Thankfully no. That's why they showed off the ability to reassign button presses though with the GC NSO app.

So will this $80+ games thing affect only foreign (i.e., Japanese, Chinese, European) games? Also, will it bleed into other consoles/PC as well? Will foreign-made games suddenly get slapped with a 10-20% price increase on all platforms?
