THE POWER OF THE SWITCH 2

Time to pay your upgrade fees piggy

Prime 4.jpg - 2544x1440, 590.5K

nintentrannies will pay 80 bucks for games

Soul vs soulless

Yeah but I want mouse aiming

Remember botw wii u vs switch threads?

At least Wii U was a proper console

i will never understand graphicsfags
i want my games to look like games

Nintendo is baby shit

WOOAHHH MAMA MIA NOW IT LOOKS LIKE DOGSHIT BUT LESS BLURRY SO HECKIN ZASED NINTENDO TAKE MY MONEY

The right game costs $30 more than left

THE POWER OF THE SWITCH 2

You jest, but the 4K60 video of TOTK is impressive af, it's like a completely new game. Day one for me.
youtube.com/watch?v=dmDD7JSfhcE

I only recall the eternal Nintentoddler seethe when CEMU could run the game at 60fps 1080p the very next year.

Looks lower res than normal PS4 honestly, PS4 pro fucking smashes it.

if you need a side-by-side comparison where you have to be told which side is which the upgrade is not worth it.

4K IS A MEME AND NOT NEEDED WHEN NINTENDO DOES IT

Siri tells you where to go

Soulslop lore audio books

Objectively worse version

Pokémon was the only thing with a upgrade patch that does anything since the game wasn't horribly lagging

Wow it looks like a Gamecube game!

As someone who never played any Prime games just typical Metroid, does 4 look good. That last trailer makes it seem alright gameplay wise, I don’t know just nothing about it wowed me.

It looks like another Metroid Prime game, which should be good.

You don't have to install the smartphone app, it's just for retards who get lost in open world games.

Looks like a sequel from 2012. Good? Bad? Maybe?

Melee looks better

Gyro is better

Never liked gyro. Didn't like it in Prime Trilogy and didn't like it in Prime Remastered

My steam deck will enjoy the switch 1 version

This

I got too used to it after dolphin

Kek, with better graphics too.

mouse also uses gyro you know? its a combination

Switch 1: 900p 60fps docked, 720p 60fps handheld
Switch 2 1080p 120fps or 4k 60fps docked, 1080p 60fps or 720p 120fps handheld

steam deck is 800p 90hz

switch 2 is 1080p 120hz

better graphics

Are steamtards this dumb?

Switch 2 is dynamic resolution. 120 fps is only for 2D games.

free vs 90 bucks

I'll take neither thanks.

Metroid is confirmed to be 120fps in performance mode lol keep seething

These numbers are false

That's a noticeable upgrade yes.

Almost like the game was developed for switch 1

metroid prime remastered comes out

Nintendo says it's 900p 60fps

snoys and pcfags say they're lying

turns out it was true, it was 900p 60fps locked

Looks like we're repeating the snoy / valvefag copium cycle

the significantly uglier game has way less improvements

Make it make sense

Gamefreak is fucking retarded and Retro have been tech gods for decades

So it should have plenty of room for upgrades on Switch 2

ZA gets better FPS and res

still has flat textured buildings

Nothing can save a game that GF has touched

I'll wait for Digital Foundry's coverage before believing Nintendo's resolution and framerate claims. Also if the 2 will be using any upscaling/FG.

Source?

Takagi-san13.jpg - 600x600, 28.91K

PC: 8k, 480fps

It looks good so far but they've shown VERY little of it, like the first hour or so only (this is a very good thing for a metroid game)

it's in the direct footage

file.png - 764x210, 272.75K

I'll wait for Digital Foundry's coverage

You could just jump to one of the high frame trailers they have posted and see for yourself. DF will never review the Switch 2 in good faith.

I don't know if I trust Nintendo but thanks for replying, anon.

fpbp

retro actually tries like monolith, gayfreak has no incentive to because poketoddlers will eat up anything they shit out

Based

The Switch 2 is a reskin of old hardware

good graphics are bad when Nintendo does it

Good graphics

Maybe if it was 2014

Looks like a gamecube game running on dolphin at 4k.

Considering the built in dolphin fork Ninty is doing for their classics, I'm wouldn't be surprised if this is all it is under the hood. Ancient gamecube code running on an emulator at ZOMG 4K GUIZ.

Ass.

Remember Nintendo also released this trailer and Aonuma claimed it was being rendered in hardware? youtube.com/watch?v=Z6BeAtdoELY

They can make that in hardware but would it be sustainable for gameplay? The old trick of cool trailers and demos vs real downgraded gameplay footage isn't unique to nintendo. But this time you can see actual gameplay not just cinematic cherrypicked footage.

what's the next game that'll be delayed 8 years after being announced around the system's launch?

not just cinematic cherrypicked footage.

Every bit of footage that goes into the Direct has to be cherry picked and even then the games wouldn't look amazing if they had come out a decade ago except this time they're slathered with gray fog lol. Hell none of the footage in the Switch 2 direct looks as good as the BotW reveal. You need a third party to actually analyze these games even then.

Did you think they would make new textures for a different platform

Gyro is leagues above stick but it most certainly is not better than mouse.

They could use the textures they had for the bullshot they did for BotW. Bethesda makes and releases high res texture pack for their games for systems that can handle it.

why the fuck would anyone ever want to replay either of these zelda games? they are both only good for 1 playthrough.

If you think all footage that went on this direct is cherry picked that's fine but there are isolated trailers you can see on your own for the relevant games. I think you just really need other people (DF) to tell you things because you can't make up your own opinion.

By default everything that has to go into a presentation is curated to look as good as possible. DF is a good resource because they actually show their work and their work is replicable. Nintendo isn't going to do a breakdown of their own game's performance.

4k is kind of a meme compared to 1440p. there isnt that big of a difference unless you are playing on a giant tv.

And the BoTW is not curated. It's a literal bullshot with texture resolution and processing not found in the actual game.

Its my favorite series and the one game I really want to fucking play so I'd pay more

unless you are playing on a giant tv.

and sitting in sweet spot before detail starts falling off further distances

Quality Mode: 4k 60fps HDR

Performance Mode: 1080p 120fps HDR

Not a fucking faggot mode: 1080p 60fps HDR OFF

It clearly does look better on switch 2 but not better enough to bother buying the switch 2. If they wanted people to buy the switch 2 it needed a new exclusive mainline 3d Zelda game. Not remasters and spin offs.

just a resolution or FPS bump, no improved lighting, effects, or textures

the most disappointing thing in the direct by far, would have gladly taken it maxing out at 1080p 60fps still for actual improved visuals

You will call me crazy but people will buy the switch 2 for pokemon anon, yeah I know what you're thinking. But pokemon and yes zelda 4k will just sell the console. New IP and what not? not needed. World alone will sell 25 millions this year by holidays if not 35. It is the kind of stuff we are dealing with.

I dont think thats crazy. Its just not for me. I'm not interested in replaying games so remasters mean nothing to me. I'd have bought this day 1 if it had a new Zelda game not a remaster.

Hilariously a lot of launch day stuff the direct showcased was shit that has been out for a long time already.

Yakuza locking English voices to Switch is criminal

the biggest improvement isnt the textures or whatever, its the framerate. if they actually manage to do 120fps docked, i will be impressed

Better performance

Better textures

Better lighting

RTX reflections

mouse aiming

Thanks anon, I will enjoy

Better lighting

RTX

Lol, lmao

Did you even watch the trailers anon
Look again, you’ll notice proper reflections

KEK

Could be baked in cubemap.

Where? On samus's armor? That doesn't look like RTX. You could do that by making a reflection map that looks like the surrounding environment. It's way less taxing than rtx

Why the fuck do you want to play dubbed Yakuza? What is wrong with you?

Language options being platform locked is stupid regardless of the context.

I mean it does look better on the right...

On her armour
On the roller coaster and flooring in the Mario party trailer
Go and look again

Here's a real comparison that isn't affected by YouTube's compression.

17125908325.jpg - 1920x2160, 1.14M

Doesn’t that not reflect polys?

The floor in Mario Party could be just textures, if someone hacks the camera it might not work.
Pre-baked reflection mapping could reflect everything in the environment accurately as long as there is no randomly moving objects around, and even if enemies don't appear on her armor's reflection, nobody would notice.

That just doesn’t look like 4x the pixels to me. I don’t know. Shouldn’t bottom be more detailed?

Armor is easily a cubemap or something. It's not even detailed. The flooring of the Mario Party Trailer looks like it uses Planar Reflection which is easy to do as the geometry and lighting aren't very complex in that game. Raytracing does more than just produce reflection. It calculates realistic light rays and reflected light. That's how you get all those subtle and good-looking scenes in CP2077 with all the reflected neon lights. I don't see either in Prime 4 or the Mario Party Trailer. There's no need for it in either. It's actually extremely taxing for it to produce relfections as detailed as the one in the Mario Party trailer so it's most likely just using Planar Reflections.

I guess we’ll wait and see, it was still low resolution reflection

I really need to buy a new TV, mine is over 10 years old and only runs at 60Hz.

I don’t know.

That much is evident.
