That was the fastest switch from "We won" to "Is fucking over" I've ever seen in gaming

That was the fastest switch from "We won" to "Is fucking over" I've ever seen in gaming
what the hell happened?

All of the "it's fucking over" is coming from malding snoys knowing full well that they're about to get raped and gaped by a tablet for a second time.

An orange retard thought consumer taxes made money

The prices got revealed (something they intentionally hid in the presentation)

get value out of announcement hype

get value out of trolling others

it's called double-dipping and did you forget you are on Anon Babble you turbofuck retard?

hmmmmmmmmm.png - 732x141, 14.77K

Nobody wants to buy $90 games.

It's blues pretending to be reds
Someone post the image
It's always been true

worse launch line-up than Wii-U & Switch

Making Sony proud with a 2nd BOTW port

overpriced

retarded discord 0.5 + dedicated button

no real 1st parties ready for launch

Grim system
Grim company
Grim industry

You're on fucking Anon Babble. Anon Babble specifically. Most of the faggy teenagers here don't play games or haven't played game in years. It doesn't matter what releases; Anon Babble will shit on it because it pisses other people off/and or they're nitpicky trannies.

no real 1st parties ready for launch

retard.

$80 for Mario Kart is crazy

ports do not count.
Mario Kart is the lamest launch title.

Anon Babble sucks

what the hell happened?

70$ digital games
80$ if the franchise is "important"
90$ if you're buying physical (and it's a coinflip if you're getting a game or just a piece of plastic with a key inside)
450$ for a console that's still less powerful than a fucking steam deck.
that's what happened

The prices are the only thing that is really fucking cunty. Decent reveal otherwise.

this. People would not be cherry picking/nitpicking/whining as much if the prices werent this shitty,

costs even more in canada and europe

this is drumpf's fault somehow

90$ if you're buying physical (and it's a coinflip if you're getting a game or just a piece of plastic with a key inside)

Kiddy Kong became the next Donkey Kong

This is the end of video games. Freedom at last.

watch presentation

"meh, looks alright, a little underwhelming, but I like mario kart"

tab over to Anon Babble

mario kart is $80

"I'm never buying this shit lol"

GORMLESS

It's literally one of the best selling game IP's of all time. It sells better than your top 3 favourite game series *combined*

You are on Anon Babble

yea, i also didnt want to buy $14 eggs yet here we fucking are
theres a reason i've been pirating for over a decade and only buy the occasional $15 indie game one a year or two

Everything seemed pretty good until they showed the digital keys and 80-90 dollar games.

DUDE SALES

DUDE NINTENDO WILL MAKE THE MOST MONEY SO IT DOESN"T MATTER

IT WILL SELL THE BEST SALES SALES SALES

There was a time when you used to call snoys soulless for this mindset

Fanatic tendies ran out of cope, perhaps now they will finally wake up and make this shit the next wiiu.

But they are nitpicking over one game being $80. The rest are $70. Did people forget games can have variable pricing?

The launch lineup would have been underwhelming even if games still cost $60, but it's a a total joke when they cost $80. With the prices Nintendo is charging, the Switch 2's library better put the SNES' library to shame, and even then it would still be an obscene level of greed.

how is the copyright button different from the share one?

I laughed all the way through the presentation, that wheelchair basketball game where you rub the joy cons back and forth was hilariously tone deaf, they even named it Drag x Drive
drag cause your legs don't work lol

it's not.
Nintendo were once praised for resisting retarded shit like that.
But now they're succumbing to it, and not even doing a good job, which makes it more embarrassing.

"Variable pricing" means nothing when the variables in question range from $70 to $90. No matter what, the games are going to be egregiously overpriced and Nintendo will never lower the price.

Making Sony proud with a 2nd BOTW port

They already did this with Xenoblade 1 on the Switch and everyone defended it.

Everything about this Direct just felt like I was being charged for things for no reason or let up

90$ if you're buying physical (and it's a coinflip if you're getting a game or just a piece of plastic with a key inside)

When have console games ever given you a plastic box with a key?

For me its the gay ass game key cards assuring we dont ever get complete editions of these 3rd party games.

A bunch of PS games did it and everyone hated it.

buy elden ring for 90 or for 12 on stream

I don't think steam is going to fail rn. thanks nintendo.

Success Nintendo will always be greedy kikes. They need to be brought down a peg back to N64 Nintendo at least.

Apparently the “physical being $10 more than digital” stuff might be false as best buy lists them the same, still wish mario kart and the switch 2 upgrades were 10 bucks cheaper

Hello resetroons.

Orange Man raised cost of Living (Or dying in this case)

I don't think a handful of discord spammers can cover the amount of criticism that has been happening since this morning.

they are in europe

$80 (+ tip)

And the worst part is that this is only the starting point for their prices. By the end of the Switch 2's lifecycle, they'll be unironically charging $100 for their games if not more. People already let them get away with a mid-generation price hike on the Switch 1, so they'll do it again.
And keep in mind, their games are all turning into the same half-assed open world template where the only difference is the main character. Even fucking Mario Kart is open world now! Their games have barely evolved graphically or conceptually since the Wii U. The thought of paying a triple-digit price tag for the same stuff they've been releasing since 2012 is nauseating.

at this point i don't care. people would not agree with these prices. inflation sucks

if $60 resisted for like 40 years. it can resist 20 more. I'm not buying anything beyond 40. specially if is not physical.

solution. fix the fucking economy so 60 is a lot again.

Eggs are fucking optional just like games.

c button didn't end up being gamepad mode

over priced system

over priced games

only 1 new non manual nintendo game shown

only 1 non manual nintendo game for release

digital games being pushed hard but the gold points incentive is kill and there was no replacement mentioned

joycons still look ergonomically uncomfortable

have to pay extra to get any benefit from playing switch 1 games on the switch 2

uses a different dock that aren't compatible

there's probably more but that's what comes to mind. At least the switch 1 controllers work
en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/68426/~/nintendo-switch-and-nintendo-switch 2-accessory-compatibility

The Switch 2 will still sell out
The Switch 2 games will still sell millions

all the bitching I see are people complaining about 10$ here and there, it is delusional

egg prices returned to normal a while ago anon

It will be over $120 after dlc

worse launch line-up than Wii-U & Switch

Most of it is the line-up from wii u and switch lmao.

Eeeyup, some of the games will JUST be blank carts that you have to connect to the internet to play them (only once, but that's still ass). Imagine some kid getting a game for their birthday and they can't play it till they get home?

how do we know nintendo didn't fork dolphin again??
buy roms at full price. goy

In two months it will have record sales and no one will even remember whining about the price, specially after GTA 6 is announced and make Nintendo's prices look cheap

people would not agree with these prices.

Maybe, but I'll believe they won't buy it anyway when I see it.

the wheelchair game they showed is unironically woke as fuck lmao, people are glossing over that though because everything else is so bad that there's no reason to even pretend to culture war.

I fucking hate Sony but you don't see them charging $80 for digital games, and they throw in a fucking 3D platformer for FREE. As far as I'm concerned Nintendo has one-upped them in being shit.

This isn't 2017. Roblox is the only thing that matters to the children who are the primary audience of the children's tablet. The ones who don't care about roblox want a gaming pc

Game prices being too high setting a bad precedent for other fuckers to hike up their prices
"""Game key cards"""
No this isn't just Anon Babble. It's everywhere and youtubers like the Moistfag are spreading this shared opinion to normies

games and hardware look good, shit is WAY to expensive

That new Nintendo game chat they showed actually kills the console with kids I think. If you're on PC, mobile, PS5, or Xbox you can use Discord and all be in the same call together. With crossplatform games, you can play the same game and be in the same call for free regardless of the system you're on.

Nintendo wants you to pay monthly to use their locked down game chat where you can only interact with other Switch 2 users and since it's $450, I can't see a lot of parents rushing out to buy it for their kids compared to a $200 Switch Lite.

yes anon it was secretly the democratic party that made trump instate those dumb-shit tariffs

as non-nintendo fan I was thinking of buying it until I found out how much the games cost. maybe once they jailbreak it, I'll consider it.

Wrong
We greys are the plurality if not the majority and we're laughing at your lil toy being a scam

Holy retard LMAO.

See the thing about the price is that it fucks EVERYONE over if Nintendo does succeed with it because it creates a new precedent for 80 dollar games

The PS5 still sold out
The PS5 still sold millions

Those realities mean nothing

Nintendofuckers never discount their fucking games but everything else is going to go into the "Wait for a sale" pile

I thought the wheelchair you guys were talking about was you guys joking but nope its real and I laughed hard

jewry

Mario Kart has such high sales because it's an evergreen title that sells consistently across the console's entire lifetime. it's not a system-seller, it's a game people buy after being sold on the console, whether that's right away or in 3 years. it's not an explosive launch title.

intentionally ignores that i said GAMES

Theres an actual chance nintendo doesnt realize their new console could be in a position where it competes with their previous-severely succesful console. hope it doesnt bite them in the ass. but if it does and it benefits their loyal out of japan fanbase then so be it.

Why would anyone want to be a red when they’re doing shit like this? Blaming blue is cope.

Its turbo slop of the highest order.

Nah, Nintendo is legitimately fucked this time around, and they have nobody to blame but themselves.
They're going to go the way of Microsoft and Sony this gen and release their titles on steam and smartphones. Maybe release their own online digital distribution platform if they aren't completely retarded.

$80 games

$450 is apparently too much for many poors (I was expecting $400 but $450 isn't completely unreasonable)
Mario Kart being $80 (or $90 in some territories for physical) is rightfully pissing some off
No Mario, despite the fact that DK looks good
Paying for upgrades to games you own already (this has not been explained well - we don't know how much these will cost or what they'll entail for each game)
Game showing off the switch hardware is paid for instead of free (which is legitimately fucking dumb)

That's about it mostly

$450 is apparently too much for many poors

no shit sherlock, even if inflation was real, turbokike landlord are already passing first

Monolith?
3D Mario?
Zelda?
Splatoon?
Smash?
Fire Emblem?

I wanted a Switch 2. I was actually excited for it. The Direct was underwhelming and then the price for the console and games sucked every ounce of enthusiasm out from me. Fuck Nintendo. Nobody is happy about this move. Go look online, the collective outrage is unanimous across the board except for the diehard Nintendo acolytes.

This shit is why I feel justified just pirating Nintendo games

450 is too much for people on unemployment LOL

well I can afford it

Nope
Anon Babble is literally the ONLY site I've seen defending them
Hell even random reddit posts are calling them out, you know, reddit, the consoomer proving grounds?

games industry was creaming themselves hoping GTA would have some ridiculously high $100 price that normies would grimace but accept, only for them to sneak in a "more reasonable" price hike to $80 and look like good guys

industry was looking like it might be on the verge of collapse even without GTA not immediately making all the money in the world plus a few quarters in God's pocket

then nintendo rocks up and says "$80 for digital and $90 for empty carts with installers in it gaijin"

also "upgraded" ports of switch 1 games for some fucking reason

I really hope they walk it back but nintendo isn't exactly in the habit of doing that

It was never we won or it's over. The truth was always in the middle. The new games look great but the pricing is shit and greedy as fuck

admitting to browsing reddit to own the anonymous

Sounds like you're taken care of then. Thank God for that.

>uses a different dock that aren't compatible

far be it for me to defend nintendo, but were you really expecting to just buy the tablet on its own and use the original switch dock?
I've never heard of anything like that before

look up google and search 'nintendo switch 2 price'
chances are that fucking site will be on the first few results
your deflection doesn't disprove this.

The only reason I'm buying it at all is because I have the money ready. With game prices now starting at $70 and physical games being fake, it may very well be nothing but a Mario Kart machine.

he doesn't have custom extensions to block any mention of reddit and twitter from search engines

could not be me

everyone was mad about $70 video games (most of which sucked or were substandard compared to $60 games) and Nintendo said $80 digital $90 physical.
of course that's gonna trigger a massive "it's so over". Most games aren't actually worth $45, let alone $90. I hope Rockstar puts GTA at $100 and just dies on the spot

no, only wageslave have problem gathering 450$ for their hobby.

This pretty much, was a day 1 buy until I saw the price of games. Skipping it. Damn shame too DK's new game looked fun. I'm not paying $90 regardless of whatever reasoning.

Wake me up for Ryujinx2

guys help I voted for a retarded egomaniac who was confirmed to be a retarded egomaniac by everyone who ever worked for him (which is why he exclusively appointed people who sucked his dick for political power this time)

how was I supposed to he would destroy the country before taking any hits to his ego?!

Nintendo got greedy because of the Switch's success, and new management saw big bucks in the tendies. They want Nintendo Adults to be their primary consumer now, just like how Disney's profits hinge on Disney Adults.

Bad price + bad launch lineup

It's the 3DS launch again. I expect a price drop within months.

I was mad after the info came about pricing and other things but after reading shit i see is just Nintendo being ass at showcasing stuff. Still annoyed but im more chill right now

450$

50 more than what i expected but isnt much

gamekey thing

Seems like a replacement for digital codes which toghter with the game share thing seems to point at Nintendo giving us more freedom with our digital gamed, it still spells doom for physical but we are giving options.

console hardware

Looks nice overall an improvement and a portable ps4. But i feel the mic is too much i would have prefered just another usb port.

old switch games sold at 70-80

Is actually just the old games with the upgrade patch. If you own the game already you can just pay 10/20 to get more fps or res or buy used. Nso give some of these also without paying the fee since you pay the subscription already. Only issue is games like kirby seems to force 20 dollars to upgrade because extra content.

launch Window

Looks solid but nothing impressive i guess they are saving many anouncement for next year

region lock

Apparently is only japanese language region locked which is silly.

accesories

These are always overpriced and still can use my old pro controller on it.
My main issue is and will be that mk9 SHOULD NOT BE A 80$ GAME. You either get the bundle or get nothing.

gc on no

No meelee but still cool
Just drop the thing to 70 and is a decente console at launch.

My problems with it

should have been clear about price differences, like totk on switch, $80 is a rare price reserved for blue chip titles

shouldn't be selling Kirby or Mario Party versions, them being $20 upgrades due to added dlc of $60 games kills the idea of $80 as a premium price point

should have had a segment in the Nintendo Europe video talking about different prices for physical and digital, and the US video should have emphasized it doesn't apply to NA

the tech demo should be free, this was the problem with 1,2 switch too

The console itself and the games look great, but they created a PR nightmare for themselves that they're likely going to have to put out with damage control, and good news never travels as fast as bad.

They're abso-fucking-lutely gonna be emboldened to make GTA6 $100 now, because "if Nintendo can do it, why can't we?"
Console crash is inevitable, this shit isn't sustainable or profitable because no one can afford this shit anymore.

Their market is filled with adults and they are the ones paying in the end
However
The price tag $$$$ holy shit

Oh and they needed to emphasize that the gamekey shit would not be most games and that any games at the switch standard $70 require a cart unless the download size exceeds 64gb
Most people I've encountered think everything is gamekey and downloaded, when it's literally just 2 games so far

absolute mindbroken, hope trump make switch game 600$ so Nintendo fucking die like in Wii u time.

NONONONO! You have to buy the $700 discless console that normalized Japanese censorship and woke walking simulators!!!

a lot of Switch 1 sales came from the Lite version and the low price of $300 for the regular version

parents and grandparents could easily afford it

raise price to $450 and games to $90

Retards

It's so fucking obvious that this gamekey fuckery is primarily a countermeasure to pre-release piracy after how badly they were embarrassed by TotK getting leaked, emulated AND shown to run even better than on real hardware. Pokemon probably contributes to this too, because it's both a system seller and keeps getting street date broken and having all of its contents spilled out before anyone can even play.

did you forget the switch got popular because it was cheap so everyone was able to pick up one.
this is not sony where everyone was already going in expecting to get nickel and dimed.

I guess you could make an argument for the Switch since BOTW was just that fucking good, but the Wii U? It launched with NSMBU lmao.
You seriously gonna tell me you'd take that game over the new MK or DK?

Code in a box:

card

one time use

Gamekey:

lame but can used more than once

can sell it

you'd be surprised

just gonna steal one from a random store anyway whats the big issue here

NINETY DOLLARS FOR MARIO KART

Bullshit, I was looking forward to buying it since my switch malfunctioned years ago and I missed on a ton of games on the switch that I was looking forward to like bayo and cereza, and now prime 4.

They completely lost me, they have to be out of their fucking mind to ask 80-90 dollars for fucking physical and 70 dollars for online.

And then they have the GALL to say this is only for certain games, so they're gonna increase the price for the best sellers for absolutely no actual reason whatsoever besides jewishness and this is COMPLETELY offloading all the costs to the consumer, what the fuck happened?
They're genuinely shooting themselves in the foot, fucking mental.

what the hell happened?

Nintendo enabled all other companies to charge 90-100 bucks for their games now.

$80

what the hell happened?

poorfags got butthurt they can't afford modern games anymore

So wait for a sale then. With inflation this doesn't cost much more than a switch would've if you bought it at launch.
Only saps buy games at full price.

You cant gaslight a wallet
Give up

Yea the keycard things allow for being resold at used game stores too
Maybe this was Nintendo's compromise with gamestop or some shit

me who never buys consoles at launch

Never had a problem playing the waiting game for things to get cheaper. it's whatever.

Nintendo

Sale

be careful tyrese, with the increase in game prices you can't steal as many at a time any more without hitting that $900 limit.

Nintendo games notoriously don't drop in price

Nintendo never drops their prices

can't believe Nintendo are also paying indian to shill their game, hope they update your script fast because it's already stale in a single day

I just wanna play prime 4 and ill probably get mario kart in the bundle
besides that theres not much for me to care about. I just really love metroid and want to play prime 4

its cool b no one cares about that mario crap anyway

Oh every company fucking does, is just that in the last gen the m$ and sn0y went full retard and got all the eyes on them

They selling BotW for $70 again and TotK got bumped to $80. They're going to go on sale for like $60 in 3 years. Nintendo's model was having the cheapest console but the most expensive games (because other consoles have their games drop to $20 instead of $40). Now they have the most expensive console and their games are even more expensive and will go on sale for even less.

The issue is that Nintendo still mainly aims their products at children who have to rely on their parents to buy them the newest console/game for their birthday or christmas.
If they keep raising prices like this within the next 10 years gaming will become a privilege for the children of rich families only. Other companies will feel themselves enabled to pull the same shit and then even the shittiest cookie cutter Call of Duty will cost $100 or more.

what the hell happened?

In simple terms, the switch won.

Now they have the most expensive console and their games are even more expensive

Surely the others will try to sell a AAAA for $100
2025 will be a fun year for more lay offs

If they keep raising prices like this within the next 10 years gaming will become a privilege for the children of rich families only. Other companies will feel themselves enabled to pull the same shit and then even the shittiest cookie cutter Call of Duty will cost $100 or more.

...so? Old games aren't going anywhere, just play those. Indie games are only getting better and better, just play those.

Fallout 76

Man has any game been a bigger shitshow than that?
Probably just concord

Instead you see them charging 90 for a port with less content than the original

And then they have the GALL to say this is only for certain games

They said that about $70 games a couple years ago and that's already turned out to be a lie, since they've just made $70 their new baseline price.
None of this greed is new. This is all a continuation of what Nintendo has already been doing in the Switch era, but nobody wanted to hear it until now.

Those $100 games will still drop to $20. I'm not sure about Nintendo games still dropping to $40.

If you are smarter than a chair yoi will emulate, pirate or buy anything else as you see fit
However how their actions still are harmful to the hobby

Nintendo is as stubborn as SEGA
They would rather crash their gen than backpedal

this. i'm not paying $119.99 for the Deluxe Edition of a new game. those niggas are smoking angel dust.

They'll drop to 5 bucks on steam while running and looking better, on top of having more support.

No one's buying a fucking switch for the non nintendo games.

This is financial suicide.

However how their actions still are harmful to the hobby

no it's not dumbass. Do you think every game will price out the average consoomer? Of course not, they're offer alternative options to buy and play games like gamepass. You can buy it outright, wait for a sale, purchase a streaming service, play indie games, play older games, or get some more money. You're not obligated to get a game just because it's available.

F96 actually recovered though. Concord never will.

$20 upgrade licenses

pay to chat

pay to play the tech demo

I guarantee this anon doesn't make much money either and is just shitposting to feel like he's in control

They want Nintendo Adults to be their primary consumer now, just like how Disney's profits hinge on Disney Adults.

Then they should start making better games that appeal to adults, which they clearly aren't willing to do.

Remember when Modern Warfare 2 came out and they dropped private servers? Everyone was screaming "IM BOYCOTTING THIS BRING BACK PRIVATE SERVERS!!!!", they made a steam group and everything.

Check the group the day of launch...like 75% of the people in the group? IN GAME, COD MW2.

Gamers will forever be their own worst enemy.

sucks to be a Eurofag i guess

90$ if you're buying physical (and it's a coinflip if you're getting a game or just a piece of plastic with a key inside)

So basically you're inventing reasons to be mad

holy poorfag cope

Nintendo HAS NO SALES
And while karma is fun, they crashing and burning destroys a lot of loved IPs... That is when they dont kill them themselves

+60 dollars for the SD card model that you HAVE to buy because the switch will not accept a normal SD card

Releasing simultaneously on the Switch 2 is financial suicide in general for third party multiplats. There's 4 choices

use the new game cards that have nothing but the license on the cartridge

eat a $10-$30 loss depending on file size because the switch 2 cartridges cost more than discs

digital only releases

delayed release

#JustTendieThings

174455464501.png - 512x479, 326.52K

because the switch will not accept a normal SD card

proceeds to show that the switch will accept a normal SD card

they won't kill themselves, people will find the extra 10-20 bucks to play the games or they won't. Either way, enough people WILL to ensure they'll continue to make games for the foreseeable future. If you can't pull a few extra bucks out of your budget to buy a game, you should probably work on your financial situation before purchasing a luxury entertainment item

That's how it always works anon. Especially with the younger generation. They live in a world where expensive shit is a status symbol regardless of how practical or how much actual enjoyment you get from it.
Part of the reason the car market was fucked for so long and is currently imploding.

450$

That pretty much what what I was expecting. Anyone whining about why the console isn't cheaper than $400 clearly does not know how absurdly hungry 4K is, especially at consistent framerates.

gamekey thing

Eh, I'm personally not a fan. Makes buying used from stores like FUCKING GAMESTOP a chore to work through, especially since Nintendo is infamous for being very reserved with their sales.

console hardware

Same thoughts. I'm still not sure how the mic will work when docked. Does it work like a speaker and you talk really loudly for it to pick up your voice?

old switch games sold at 70-80

Didn't the PS5 version games do the same thing when they were resold? I know FF7Remake did something like that where upgrading gave you the DLC as a bonus. If it was additional story content for the upgrade, I wouldn't mind, but looking at BOTW and TOTK, I highly doubt it even though Kirby is proof that new content can happen.

launch Window

We'll probably learn more by Summer Games Fest. I'm personally invested in Bravely Default, but I won't press people for skipping on the console for now. I know I skipped on launch day for the original Switch until my parents surprised me with it as a gift.

region lock

Not surprised that Japan would do something like this. Japan is, to be blunt, pretty xenophobic when it comes to consumers outside their domestic market.

accessories

I hope the analog sticks don't fuck with too many games, especially Mario Sunshine

My main issue is and will be that mk9 SHOULD NOT BE A 80$ GAME. You either get the bundle or get nothing.

This. Why the fuck is it $80? Maybe we'll learn why in a few weeks with the Direct, but holy shit, talk about killing all momentum after months of hype.

gc on no

This is good, and honestly could be its own selling point for the Switch 2 and its online subscription.

Honestly, I found the Direct to be good, but completely ruined by the international price spike.

snoys

You stupid fucking mongoloid. Nintendo just made gaming more expensive for EVERYONE. It doesn't matter if you're not a Tendie or don't plan on buying a Switch 2 - the second 30+ million braindead consumer cattle like yourself line up to pay $80 for ONE video game (and they will, because asking tendies to have self-respect is like asking a pajeet to use a toilet), every other major publisher is going to do the exact same thing. Fuck trying to force $70 games - soon everyone is going to try forcing $80 games because it worked for Nintendo, so surely it'll work for them, too. It's basically guaranteed GTA 6 is going to be $100 minimum now.
Of course, you're a fucking retarded console war faggot that only sees things as "me vs them", so you probably don't care as long as you can jerk off about sales numbers on Anon Babble.

enough people WILL to ensure they'll continue to make games

Sure, right, of course pal...
People NEED this so they will find a way
Its a hobby, a hobby you can easily make free, i hope you're only pretending to be retarded

I get your point but like come on surely someone here is playing video games

the Steam Deck is hideous, bro. playing that shit looks like you're holding a typewriter. LOL

Switch 2 only takes express SD cards that cost THREE TIMES the amount of a normal SD card, you literally cannot use your usual or old SD cards with it.

Nothing unfortunately
This shit will sell out immediately, just look at recent trends
People always say the "the economy is shit omg no money" "muh hardearned cash" and then buy literally every single $70 release.
Don't forget, Snoys just paid $700 for the PS5 Pro
NPC FOMO mentality is rampant
Switch 2 will be the fastest selling system in Nintendo history with the way things are going

Grim, but best just to point and laugh

Nintendo just made gaming more expensive for EVERYONE

They made expensive for the CONSOLE plebs.
There's a difference.

They are trying to become apple

of course it's a hobby. The vast majority of people are willing to pitch in a bit extra money to keep feeding their hobby.

You think everyone ACTUALLY unsubs from their netflix account whenever they have a price increase? Of course not, because while of course they don't like paying the extra money, they like enjoying their hobby enough to keep paying. Gaming is no exception. It's genuinely shocking you aren't able to grasp this.

Things sell out immediately because of paper launches and because people buy like 60% of those sales just to scalp BECAUSE the economy is shit.

And you can't even scalp the switch 2 preorders.

People will definitely wait for emulator or at least do not update the console for the obvious hack that will happen, 90 fucking $ per game is just too good of a deal to not do it.
Also thank nintendo for deleting all the paid emulator dev faggot and making it better for consumer

Im considering scalping
Normalfags have no self respect

Price increase will metastasize to Steam, just wait. Better hope your favorite crackers don't give up and allow denuvo to run rampant

IS THE NEXT WII U

you know these are snoy posts because otherwise they would be calling it the next PS5

3 times normal caras

Which arent that expensive and have multitudes of providers

Switch 2 only takes express SD cards

Aka, normal SD cards.
You'd have a point if it were proprietary like the Vita cards but it's not

I'm starting to see people scalp restaurant reservations.

A lot of people did
But $5 is something feasible to ignore to entretain your gramps, hence why the market remains
Unlike 90$ for what 60 hours of entretaiment?

That's the one example everyone always cherrypicks. Back then, people would still usually close their wallets if companies got too greedy. See: the 3DS launch, the Vita, the Xbone launch, Steam's attempt to force paid mods, etc. as counterexamples.
The standards are so much lower now than they were back then, it's not even funny. Just look at how much money hopeless addicts dump into mobile gacha "games" so they can gamble on a 1% chance of getting the .png they want. There's almost no limits to the retarded spending on this hobby anymore and it enables these companies to do anything.

You think everyone ACTUALLY unsubs from their netflix account whenever they have a price increase?

ofcourse yes you fucking retard, they have a lot of data and whole branch of scamer calculating the most money they could get despite losing 20% userbase to please the "line must go up" god every year

Prices that do not reflect product value. Feels like a greedy company trying to see how high they can go. I bet Nintendo will pull back on the prices, a "look! we listen to our fans!" don't know if there's a name for this kind of public relations scheme, but it reminds me of like when bad CGI sonic was first shown for the movie and then a """"new"""" sonic model was shown after fans complained, which to this day feels very much like a narrative enforced by Paramount Studios / Sega / etc.

The other aspect that I think a lot of people aren't talking about but which plays a role in the current status of "it's fucking over" is that Nintendo has decided to reinvent the wheel in a lot of ways, which comes across as totally unnecessary and also very greedy. What I'm talking about is: voice chat and video chat. There is no reason why they shouldn't just incorporate discord. Especially when their pathetic video chat feature displays others' screens at like silky smooth 15 fps (I'm still shocked they showed that at their announcement direct).

The switch 2 in general feels a lot more "been there done that" and not innovative at all. At this point, the best innovation Nintendo can do is simply make hardware that is computationally comparable to its competitors so that they stop getting the absolute worst versions of games. Adding "mouse controls" to the joycon, while cool, is such an insignificant improvement.

I'm actually cool with a lot of the games shown today, which makes all of this the more disappointing. Fucking Air Ride 2? Basically Bloodborne 2? Mario Kart meets SSX meets Burnout Paradise? Yes, I'm excited for all that, but I'd rather wait for all this shit years down the line when the prices are more justifiable.

turns to the thing making them "lose" their self respect

In truth, the Switch 2 is more like the next PS3. Ludicrously priced, releasing in an absolutely horrible economic time.

People will definitely wait for emulator or at least do not update the console for the obvious hack that will happen

oh for sure, you're not wrong. However it's gonna be a sizable portion LESS people than before. Every time they do this less and less people actually go through the effort to download emulators and hack their consoles to play games for free. As much as piratefags don't want to hear this, the vast majority of people pay for the CONVENIENCE more than anything else. It's like movies and streaming shows, it's for the most part very easy to pirate a film or show and not have to pay for a streaming service. However the convenience of being able to use the platform and ease of paying causes many people to just pay up. As far as gaming goes Steam is the perfect example.

Is not like i respect them either. And not only a faceless company can exploit the idiots

Unlike 90$ for what 60 hours of entretaiment?

absolutely, people pay more money for less hours of gameplay all the time. The vast majority of people don't do a cost-benefit analysis of the hours of gameplay divided by the cost to justify their gameplay purchases. People see something they want to play, and buy it. Simple as that.

There is no reason why they shouldn't just incorporate discord.

Aside from "making sure they aren't responsible for allowing pedophiles to easily get into contact with minors" it's also because they've been absolutely burned by dealing with other social media platforms by Twitter, thanks to Elon being such a detestable assfaggot.

of course some people unsub dipshit, the whole point is that the vast majority of them don't. You just made my argument for me

Wii U had soul, a netflix app, free online, free voice chat, $50 games, and cost $350 at launch for the deluxe edition.

I saw 15 minute helicopter rides going for like 100 euros and there was a constant line there

absolutely, people pay more money for less hours of gameplay

I meant a single game 60 hours is a lot for a nintendo game, i was being generous

A lot of people are idiots

Sure, the game is how many times can nintendo scam them in a row until they actually notice it is a scam

There's almost no limits to the retarded spending on this hobby anymore and it enables these companies to do anything.

you're absolutely right. If people should be blaming anyone they should be hounding the gachafags and whales that give these companies literally hundreds of millions of dollars a month on these shit games

all mogged by kirby air ride air

Life experiences and physical objects weigh way more than a hobby that is badly seen by the public eye

How would them adopting a new cutting edge NON PROPRIETARY tech make them apple?
Everyone birches at Nintendo for constantly being behind the times and holding having back. MicroSD express is some of the most cutting edge storage in existence that has gotten nowhere because it's too good for basic devices and now you niggers cry

This is the opposite of what happened with the PS Vita (or any Apple product), where Sony created a proprietary flash memory storage and didn't allow anyone else to make it, they could only sell their licensed product.

Maybe we'll learn why in a few weeks with the Direct

Did they announce another direct?

You don't know what a Disney Adult is then, retard.

are you stuck in a time paradox ? piracy have never been so back since all the sub started increasing their price

the game is how many times can nintendo scam them in a row until they actually notice it is a scam

the answer you probably don't want to hear is "unlimited". Most people don't see this as a scam, or they DO but are so caught up in FOMO and actually wanting to play the game that they're willing to pay the extra cost. They didn't just raise these costs on a whim, they're confident (rightfully so imo) that people will just suck it up and pay for the games.

Just to clear up a few things.

Didn't the PS5 version games do the same thing when they were resold?

Yes and no, most games were just graphical upgrades that you had to pay for but if I remember right intergrade was the one game you had to do both.
With this they're free UNLESS it comes with new content.

region lock

The Japanese language only version isn't region locked but rather you simply need a Japanese account.
That's it.

They're fucking over physical copies and they're ridiculously overpriced. Last night in the "comfy switch predictions" thread I said those were the only two things Nintendo needed to do to win effortlessly, and they failed.

piracy have never been so back

sure, but the amount of people that know how to pirate or are willing to jump through the hoops required to do so are dwindling lower and lower every year. Sure faggots like you and I will forever be able to pirate shit, but most people won't.

I bet Nintendo will pull back on the prices

I'd rather wait for all this shit years down the line when the prices are more justifiable.

You must be new to Nintendo. These prices are never coming down. It will be a miracle if they don't hike the prices again midway through the Switch 2's lifecycle like they did with the Switch 1.

hilarious2.jpg - 265x190, 15.33K

Its brand labeled so its expensive

You cant use anything non brand if you are using this brand

Same as apple, but keep playing mental gymnastics

Anon, scalpers hardly sell their stock and only force people to rush out and buy things immediately to combat scalping.
Basically you're the reason they're doing what they're doing

That's what happens when you hide all the shady shit until later. I've seen several youtubers make 2 videos today. One soifacing over the announcement and the other saying Nintendo are greedy as fuck.

Here's an example.
youtube.com/watch?v=a1CsN70bAns
youtube.com/watch?v=XrC01UnNatc

The presentation was the best console presentation a modern console has received since E3.

Every single little detail we're finding out later is the worst thing ever. Like if Xbox or Sony made even one of these missteps, it would be unironically over.

Think about it, The Xbox One's big misstep was a lack of used games, a lack of physical games, and shipping with a camera, ten years later OH LOOK AT NINTENDO DOING ALL THAT + MORE!

450$ for a console that's still less powerful than a fucking steam deck.

The stemie shitdeck can't even play switch games lmao

Most

I wonder, the 2024 crashes did happen
So i do have a bit of hope

to be honest they shouldn't even try, considering Brad pitt sending them photo over internet is enough to convice them giving up on their lifesaving is the best idea ever

Emulation it is

snoys who pay $70 for a physical release are getting raped and gaped but not the nintendopes who are spending $90-$100 per game for a code on a cart.

I feel there is a lotnof missinfo too.
Like the gamekey thingy

None of the controversial stuff is going to matter a year from now. This thing will sell

wahh why is Nintendo requiring micro sd express

Why was there not this bitching when Sony, Microsoft, and most game devs making games for PC started requiring SSDs? In fact anyone whining was met with mockery for still using HDD?
It's the same shit. Standard SD card formats have been outdated for over a decade. UHS-III never caught on, thank God Nintendo is forcing the world to adopt Express.

Case in point

OH LOOK AT NINTENDO DOING ALL THAT + MORE!

... By doing absolutely none of that.

It's just proof that standards have fallen like a rock over the years. It makes sense, the average audience for the switch 2 wasn't even born yet when that E3 presentation happened.

You will own nothing and you WILL be happy.

IMG_4794.jpg - 1125x775, 260.47K

Nah, PC will want a slice of the pie too. Even indies are gonna start getting bold once Deltarune goes paid, 25 bucks will become the new bare minimum because Toby proves it can work.

but will it sell at least 50% to make it even before the price increase ? that the only question that matter

The presentation was the best console presentation a modern console has received since E3.

No it wasn't. If it was just a normal Direct with those games, we'd be giving it a 5/10 at best. All the prices did was take it to a 0/10, and rightfully so, because nothing they showed was really even worth $60, let alone $90.

... By doing absolutely none of that.

Except the things they're doing

Well one difference: the Xbone camera at least came with the console for free.

I won't be buying a switch 2 on release (honestly it'll probably impossible to find one outside of scalpers for several months post-release) but the new fromslop game is unironically a console seller for me. If it's truly Switch 2 exclusive and not just "console-exclusive" then I'll find a way to grab one next year

What's the point of paying $10 more for a useless piece of plastic if Nintendo has full control anyway?

It's an idiot tax. The whole console is an idiot tax.

physical collectors are mentally ill

The only real controversial thing is Mario being fucking 80$

Monolith?

They just re-released Xenoblade Chronicles X.

3D Mario?

Donkey Kong is filling in, which is fine by me. Definitely refreshing.

Zelda?

Released ToTK not that long ago.

Splatoon?

I think Splat3 just wrapped up with their big final event thing, so it's too soon for them.

Smash

Smash didn't launch with the Switch, and I didn't hear anyone complain back then.

Fire Emblem?

Never been a launch game.

YOU CAN USE ANY SD EXPRESS CARD YOU WANT YOU FUCKING MORON
Express is a fucking format. It's like USB C, you know, the other format that Nintendo was one of the first to adopt. Do you think Nintendo invented USB C or that they profit from its success?
You people are so fucking retarded?

Why are you tds-addled retards utterly incapable of doing basic research?

I think you'll be surprised to find out how many idiots with disposable income there are

Yeah, at the additional cost of a kinect at the time but yeah, "free".

No joke, I was literally "HOLY FUCKING SHIT NINTENDO WON" up toward and during the end, but upon them revealing the price of the games I immediately soured so hard I legit am not going anywhere near this console for a year at least, and will buy pre-owned on principle alone.

Shame, but fuck them.
falseflag see

file.png - 640x875, 922.17K

caps lock

ending every sentence with a ?

Seething zoomer lol

Might as well say the sw1 upgrades are "free" with nso if youngo by that

pre-owned

You're shit out of luck on all the games that matter, likely, no chance in hell any of their big names will be fully physical.

People are irked about the expensive ass games.
I feel like Nintendo is forcing the industry to capitulate this is the year where gaming crashes because Nintendo is going to sell their games at these prices and every dumb faggot with a studio are going to look at this and go "OKAY WE'LL DO THAT TOO" when they dont have the pull of prestige Nintendo does to pull this off.

GTA6 is going to be the lynchpin in this.

I'm seething at you retards who don't understand technology and why making Express format the new standard for handheld devices is a good thing.
Steam deck 2 will likely require express as well. Valve would be retarded not to.

"free" with nso

NSO+, actually.

I think Splat3 just wrapped up with their big final event thing, so it's too soon for them

The final splat fest was last year.
It's also 2025 now, the game was released in summer 2022. That's three years, one more year than the gap between 1 and 2.

Don't bother. These "people" are totally mindbroken.

I'm seething

lol
lmao
seethe

Anon, the upgrades are just free free.
The only ones that aren't are actual expansions.

So, what was it?
Big dick after the success of the Switch and deciding they had enough power and following again to do whatever they want unchallenged, or just retarded and cursed to fuck up every other console generation

that site is dead anon
you're the only one whose head it still lives rent free in

have enough disposable income to afford $450 consoles and $80 games

Doesn't sound like idiots to me, NEET-kun.

$450 for a handheld with mediocre specs is insane

It's ego from success, combined with new management wanting to test the loyalty and wallets of their consoomers.

i tought it was 10 dollars for normal games and 20 for the expansion which are just Mario party and kirby

bro thinks rich people are smart

Inflation. Same reason why the others raised their prices and massively increased sub costs

That price per gig ratio

I..I... it's faster! a reader that'd use both would have been $0.000001 more hekkin snoy!

Kek this. Enjoy your Nintendo-console-ID-linked plastic code chip you have to register before download preventing resale entirely.
Probably one-time use Switch 2 Upgrade downloads as well.

people will wait for an emulator

that's not really their target audience. those people have already played all the "NS2 Edition" versions of games in RyuJinx at 4k 60FPS. the Switch 2 is targeting people who don't even know how to set up an emulator.

imagine the hell we would live in if these retard never lost and just keep winning by sheer luck (no like we live in paradise anyway)

No, games like Pokemon SV, Mario Odyssey, Arms, Bowser's fury and so on just have free updates.
100% free.

Just how much damage control will Nintendo have to play in the following months? It's wild just how universally hated this is.

I'm not gonna buy this garbage unless they fix the pricing, that's it.
I buy physical games only, i won't spend $20 dollars for no good reason when most of the games are gonna run like they would in a PS4 Pro.

I mean, the only people shitting on it at the moment are Anon Babble and like one YouTuber so, not a lot.

I put 2000 of my savings on dogecoin back before it blew up and made a years worth of my salary overnight. Blind luck is a thing, some (I'd argue most) people just luck out into success I of course pulled my money out the next day and missed a further 50x of profit, but what can you do?

They won't even bother, they know the shills will do all the work for them, and that the drones won't care and eat it up anyway.

it will still sell out and become the best "whatever" because it's nintendo and games media is full of tendies not willing to hold Nintendo to any sort of standard and the gamers are quick to handwave any nintendo criticism.
videogames are a joke.

Maybe they did it just to drop prices back down to 60, 349.99 so everyone can praise them for listening and being on the side of the g lolololno, nevermind

Most of the bad press will fade in a few weeks when people calm down and see that

$10 extra on physical is only for countries that have entertainment taxes

Not!E3 is in 2 months for more reveals

Not every switch 1 game is getting an upgrade pack

Paid switch 2 upgrade packs are only for games actually adding content or had actual dev time put into it and are fully optional

You don't need a proprietary SD card

Physical/digital game carts is just a new name for what has been standard for a decade now across all platforms for filesize heavy (or lazy publisher) games

Not every game is going to be 80 dollars

Some shit is still ass like the paid fucking tutorial but so much of this is overblown.

t. streamable.com/eybcsz

snoy uses gen 4 nvme and up despite no game taking advantage of it

nobody bat's an eye

They were already extremely anti-consumer during the Switch's lifecycle, and not only did people barely criticize them for it, they kept throwing money at Nintendo no matter what they did. Price hikes, paid online, Dexit, stick drift, time-limited digital-only games, delisting Wii U games to force people to buy the more expensive Switch ports, shutting down the 3DS and Wii U servers, getting music removed from YouTube while refusing to release it themselves, attacking emulation, censorship, it just went on and on and none of it seemed to matter. Why *wouldn't* Nintendo keep pushing the envelope? Their customers have given them no incentive not to.

Today has been an epic day of cope. Snoys coping, Tendies coping, piratefags coping, and especially poorfags coping.

and games media is full of tendies not willing to hold Nintendo to any sort of standard

HAHAHAHAHA
Anon, gaming media has been trying to take Nintendo down for years to no avail in a literal coordinated effort to the point where shit like the vimm's lair's take downs were blamed squarely on them when it was that gaming association thing.
They absolutely hate them and give everyone else a pass.

I'm getting anally pounded with price increases that have zero justification

take that, snoys!

you console warriors deserve eachother.

saw the monsters with beady eyes on them like how Banjo games had on some creatures.

saw the "Ingot Isle" which reminded me of Banjo kazooie for some reason

I know it was retarded but for a moment I thought there was a chance it was going to have Banjo show up.
DK is cool too.

at first i was thinking the same but then i realized that you still had to pay for online which is a fucking blight on modern gaming
i just wanna play online and jerk off into the camera with the bros while playing mario party because let's face it, we're not gonna be getting uno
the nintendo switch 2 actually seems like a serious contender with the series x and ps5, especially with promises of 120fps but we just have to take their word for it because their fruitbowl mario games are running over 60, show cyberpunk 2077 running at 60fps, that would've crushed it 100%

no it's more of a nitpick, and that it would be nice to have an extra dock. They're expensive and annoying to transport.

IM FUCKING CANADIAN, PRICES ARE NEVER NORMAL HELP

Nintendo in the next couple months.

IMG_4795.gif - 220x127, 266.05K

There are enough childless millennials to run defense for them for years.

I’m just tired of doomers

what the hell happened?

I was curious so I watched the Nintendo direct, and found out From Software is making a game for Switch 2 which is basically Bloodborne 2.
This is why people are shitposting, they're upset becuase they think Fromsoftware was susposed to be owned by Sony.
I guess its thanks to PC gamers for buying so many copies of Elden Ring they were able to break free from Sony and do their own thing as a company. Good on them.

Its fucking over

we know it is sonybro

*years
watch them also up the price for the eventual MK DLC

which is basically Bloodborne 2

It's Nightrein: Switch Edition, bozo.

Not the anon you're replying to but man, everytime doge is mentioned I go to Robinhood and reminded of the massive fuckup I did by first time investing and FOMO'ing into (450 to exact) when it was .44. It taught me a lesson but I still feel like a massive fucking retard lmao

we found a salty sonybro!!!!

pay to play the tech demo

This was truly heinous, there's no reason it shouldn't just come with the system like an instruction manual.

file.jpg - 453x439, 24.72K

You haven't actually listed anything anti consumer. I mean, you threw in "price hikes" but they're literally the only ones that didn't hike up their prices, stick drift despite offering free repairs world wide and censorship in the generation where they forced tree house to stop,
The closest thing is probably paid online but as it is now you're getting more for 20 bucks than the others give you for 60.

What's left after that is
Dexit: not really anti-consumer since gamefreak was incredibly open about that on top of that it's just what monster tamers do, pokemon was the one exception and it was also putting in more game modes than the others so something had to give.
Time-limited digital-only games: I think there's only two like that? Mario 35 and that FE1 and everyone openly hated that to the point where they never did it again.
delisting Wii U games: which is just done by everyone. Sonic generations was delisted when shadow X sonic released for instance.
shutting down the 3DS and Wii U servers: another 100% open instance that didn't harm consumers or push costs on to them, however you could say it was anti-consumer in the literal sense since you couldn't buy from them on those consoles
getting music removed from YouTube while refusing to release it themselves: not only is this something everyone does and Nintendo is currently releasing their music, they only took down a handful of channels that monetised the music everything else is up and easy to find.

If they keep raising prices like this within the next 10 years gaming will become a privilege for the children of rich families only.

Based Nintendo healing gaming.

For sure man.

dsk.png - 880x655, 537.75K

I'm willing to bet they're just going to call you a regardless

Excuse me chud, anti consumer means thing I don't like!

PvPvE

So your basic souls game

It's fine when PlayStation does it

Even if the games become exclusively for rich bastards, the quality won't increase. Luxurious fancies are famous for being absolutely fucking awful, not at all worth their fee, it's just so the wealthy can flaunt their wealth by spending on it and then showing off to their peers and the commoners that they dropped that investment "oh so casually." Nothing's healing whatsoever.

it's just so the wealthy can flaunt their wealth by spending on it and then showing off to their peers and the commoners that they dropped that investment "oh so casually."

And now you know why PlayStation got to where it is.

I thought it was going to be that monkey MMO thing from a while back.

Find me a single instance of a souls game being marketed as a "PvPvE multiplayer-focused game"

So.. literally every Soulsborne game minus Sekiro. That's it? That's your ace in the hole?

xb2fag is a retard

I see.

I am going to stay positive until the console actually comes out and a bunch of shit becomes more clear
then I'll be depressed

I'm waiting, punkass.

Are you surprised? The PlayStation crowd will do anything to win.

It's a completely new game, not an asset flip. It's Bloodborne 2, Snoytranny. Cope and sneed that it's exclusive.

I don't get the SD Card issue? The console is coming with damn near the same amount of storage inbuilt and Switch games aren't exactly big.

Snoy

Tendies really are fucking autisitc Holy shit

I mean, you threw in "price hikes" but they're literally the only ones that didn't hike up their prices

They started by going from $40 games to $60 games, then increased agin to $70 games by the end of the generation. Those are price hikes. They also hiked the price of the Pro Controller compared to the Wii U's while downgrading its build quality and battery life.

The closest thing is probably paid online but as it is now you're getting more for 20 bucks than the others give you for 60.

Their online service is the worst of any platform with Windows 98 netcode and a downright byzantine approach to voice chat. Paid online is a scam no matter who does it, but for Nintendo to do it is the biggest insult of all.

Dexit: not really anti-consumer

They were charging people a subscription fee to store all the Pokemon they had caught in Pokemon Bank under the premise that they could keep transferring them forever, only to pull the rug out from under their subscribers by cutting the dex. They lied about improving the graphics and animations to justify the dex cut, delivered none of that, and then charged more for worse games with less content than their predecessors. Any other company would be getting trashed for this.

But, but, other monster tamers!

Until recently, the #1 argument Pokemon fans always used against its competitors was that none of them allowed them to transfer all the monsters they caught from game to game like Pokemon did. But suddenly that didn't matter anymore once Game Freak told them it didn't.

shutting down the 3DS and Wii U servers

Sony was raked over the coals for even considering shutting down the PS3 and Vita servers. Nintendo actually does it and gets no criticism.

not only is this something everyone does

I haven't seen a single other publisher as anal about this as Nintendo.

it's $50 on my machine.

I'm just gonna go to bed, hopefully this day was all some weird vivid dream or something
I was hyped for the Switch 2, especially Air Riders, until I heard about the price and the keycards shit and all the other BS
Almost legit want to pirate Nintendo games out of spite right now, assuming piracy actually does hurt corporations (it doesn't, it's the other way around, corporations hurt pirates instead by forcing ISPs to bully the little guy because the poor defenseless multibilliondollar corporation "lost" 1 "sale")

People think it's a proprietary card.

Snoy can't even type right because he's trembling in impotent rsge

Lets be real, almost none of the issues are real issues. there's some reasonable backlash to the games being $80, but everything else is just people lying or chimping out over false info.

that's a gif from a snoy game you dense motherfucker
snoys and tendies are the fucking worst I stg
PC gaming is where it's at

I'd gladly pay $500 for Kirby Air Ride 2 made by Sakurai so I still won.
Don't care about the other shit.

I'm not paying $80 for a weak ass system like the Switch

No that's a gif from a "Sony" game. Snoy is a different, more modern company that does not actually have games.

Someone better buck break Switch 2 asap.

Same as what happened to Nintendo?

Console warriors might be the most pathetic people on the planet.
If you're bootlicking a soulless corporation out of sunk cost fallacy, you genuinely need to kill yourself. Like, right now.

The Nintendo Bait and Switch

Everything is overpriced. The hardware looks fine, the games look fine. But they just overpriced everything from the console, the games, the accessories, and monetizing the upgrades. Hell, we still haven't seen the inevitable Switch Online price increase yet.

What happened to Nintendo?

I say lies or not $80 games justifies all of it. Also don’t forget this thing is going to have no games, we have like 4 titles tee’d and literally nothing else, and 2 of them are shovelware that should be free anyway

CARLOOOOSSSS

You WILL pay for the FAQ instruction manual and you WILL like it

The Switch 2 is $700 here in Australia

$770 for the Mario Kart World bundle

Forgot to add:

censorship in the generation where they forced tree house to stop

They did no such thing. They in fact started flying Treehouse out to Japan to meddle with games like Xenoblade 2 during development. By the end of the generation, they had started outright banning niche otaku games like Neptunia and Death end re;Quest Code Z from the eShop - the exact same kinds of games that Sony was deservingly trashed by everyone for censoring in the Jim Ryan era - and forcing third party developers to tone down violence in games like Gungrave G.O.R.E. the same way they used to do in the '80s and '90s.

That was one of the first things I noticed, why no price reveal but a release date?
Now I know why

we have like 4 titles tee’d and literally nothing else,

When was the last new Nintendo console that didn't do that?

Nintendo really is the Apple of games and Japan, huh

it's literally JUST the pricing. all of the seethe about the game cards is bullshit, nothing is really changing on the DRM front

Shit that I DIDN'T ask for? Shit that makes all of their other stuff COST MORE for simply existing?

Zelda Notes

Joy-con wheels (??? nobody fucking uses these)

Joy-con charging grip (again nobody uses these fucking things stop wasting development time on this)

two DIFFERENT carrying cases

AC adapter is small but 60w which means they are using overpriced Gallium Nitride hardware ($30 for an AC adapter? go FUCK YOUR OWN FACE)

Webcam

Gamecube emulation and overpriced GC controller that only works on NS2

Gameshare

Gamechat

Mario Kart MMO

Region locking JP machines

fancy fan dock

120FPS on handheld but not TV (using an overpriced miniLED panel)

extra bumpers, C button and stupid 3.5mm jack on Pro controller

DEI Wheelchairs - Rocket League knockoff

mouse joy cons

Metroid Prime 4 cross-gen (just pick a fucking console, is it a Switch 1 or 2 game?)

they added too much and got too greedy, the reason the Switch 1 was good was because it was fucking SIMPLE. Now I need a god damn matrix chart to understand whether or not I can play Zelda correctly.

meddle with games like Xenoblade 2 during development

Xenoblade 2 is the most anime booba japanese humor game ever so I guess they didn't really do shit

This is truly emblematic of the sheer fucking greed of Nintendo during the whole direct.
You have to pay for their shitty tech demo.
I'll bet Nintendo fans are salivating at the thought of it, too.

underpowered console

game is more expensive

Make it make sense

$10-$20 for backwards compatibility PER GAME

Why aren't more people talking about this.

You mother fucker

The biggest disaster is that the GameCube online and BOTW / TOTK rehashes means those were the Zelda "Remakes" they were talking about and we literally aren't getting another original Zelda game again, it's going to continue to be spin offs of BOTW

It's not for backwards compatibility though. It's for actual upgrades or new features. You can still play the original games just fine for free.

Because tendies deflect with "b-but this one PS4 game makes you pay five bucks" while ignoring the fact that Xbox has FREE IMPROVEMENTS for ALL YOUR GAMES with backwards compatibility.
Not only does Xbox do that, but they do it for every fucking console they've ever released.

because they're already beaten down from sony doing it

A Wii-U game that was ported to the Switch that was ported to the Switch 2 is $70 and (MIGHT) contain the DLC

PHEWWWW

Yeah guys we need to be more like Xbox

wut.jpg - 225x225, 9.77K

The wording seems vague, so I guess I'm not totally sure how it works at the moment.

Unironically Xbox has been ridiculously consumer friendly this generation, but people have shown they're eager and willing to get fucked in the ass and pay for the privilege.
So, this is the natural consequence.

I agree, but Xbox kind of HAS to be that way to retain anybody. They don't have any other selling points anymore.

we

Who the fuck is 'we'?
Get away from me, freak.

I honestly assumed the Switch 2 wasn't going to have BC at all and was pleasantly surprised when they announced it would. In hindsight, I wasn't cynical enough. They only brought it back because they found a greedy new way to monetize it.

akaribroken.jpg - 720x720, 44.43K

Playstation 5 only has 5 exclusive games

It's basically just a weird way of saying new DLC, except the DLC is only playable on Switch 2. The base games will be the same and free.

it's actually an insane indictment for Nintendo's utter failure to plan for this thing's release.

Keep in mind, this company merged their home console + portable software and hardware teams back in 20-fucking-17 and dumped Wii U and 3DS support years ago.

They have zero excuse not to have a new Mario game, a new Zelda and Metroid for this fucking thing on launch day. If I were a Nintendo shareholder I'd be demanding pinky fingers from executives on my desk right the fuck now.

Nintendo Switch had games
Switch 2 has FOUR fucking original games at launch

I know, but the fact that it can be done with ease is exactly why it's a valid criticism to say Nintendo are fucking greedy scumbags for monetizing it in this way.

$10 extra on physical is only for countries that have entertainment taxes

I’ve seen this +$10 on every page, it’s not just a tax thing

Not!E3 is in 2 months for more reveals

If there were gonna be more games they would’ve shown them alongside the system, they have nothing. Even the switch presentation had a bunch of different games lined up for the entire year

Not every switch 1 game is getting an upgrade pack

The problem is that they’re doing it in the first place

Paid switch 2 upgrade packs are only for games actually adding content or had actual dev time put into it and are fully optional

Ah yes, the zelda gps, totally worth being dlc

You don't need a proprietary SD card

Never heard of an express microsd in my life, no doubt these aren’t widespread so you’ll be forced to buy nintendo’s overpriced version

Physical/digital game carts is just a new name for what has been standard for a decade now across all platforms for filesize heavy (or lazy publisher) games

And nintendo won’t because…

Not every game is going to be 80 dollars

…yet. People said the same thing about TotK being $70 and look where it got us

I can't fucking believe Nintendo got the Bloodborne sequel

yeah but it's multiplayer so-

It's still crazy to me

retard

"Hey, we need a system seller. Miyazaki take this bag of cash and churn some bullshit out for us like you did with the PS4."

I dont care the reason. Im not paying $70, let alone $80 for a video game.

but tariffs!

but inflation!

Doesn’t matter. You could come up with a million reasons why the new Nintendo game needs to cost $3,000.99. And guess what? Im not paying it. If Nintendo cant figure it out, well I guess video games just arent feasible thing to make anymore. Food and surviving are more important than a fucking video game, Im sorry.

IMG_7014.png - 1626x1626, 344.88K

lets you play all their games on any platform you want

yeah, xbox has been pretty fair lately.

I for one love paying a sub fee to upgrade my shitch games to play it at a decent frame rate and resolution

Damn, System isn't even out yet and its already up 4 games over its competition?

But is it really "with ease" if Xbox is literally forced into doing it?

Pokemon 15-minute city WEF edition is gonna look great at 720p 60 FPS on my TV

If they have the gall to charge more than $60 for this game after the absolute shitshow S/V was I'm gonna fucking lose it.

Imagine years from now when you come back to your Switch 2 to play your old games only to realize you have to pay to upgrade them because you don't have a subscription anymore.
Yes, they've literally been doing it since the 360, and it was MUCH more difficult bringing forward original Xbox games. The Switch would just require Nintendo to increases the FPS and resolution targets for a game.

Better start losing it, goyim

They will. It's gonna be $70 minimum, and then Gen 10 will be another $80 titan because it's Pokemon's grand 30th anniversary bash and a Switch 2 exclusive.

20 dollars for some jeet to modify a config file to raise the fps cap from 30 to 120, really worth money imo

aaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I FUCKING HAAAAAAAATE VIDEOGAMES

It's gonna be $70 minimum

To be fair we knew that was going to happen for years now.
Damn near everyone is doing $70 minimum now.
Don't have to like it, but you're kind of a retard if you act surprised.

bigger than expected price increase for console and games

underwhelming new hardware features

nso game chat

tech demo game is not bundled with the console, sold separately

game key cartridges and price increase pushing phase-out for physical games

paid switch 2 upgrades for switch games

scant first-party offerings

more ports

promoting troon games

menu ui still terrible

it really does feel like when Sony got high off their own supply and made the PS3. This is a FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE UNITED STATES DOLLARS moment for Nintendo.

bigger than expected price increase for console

Not really.
Seems like a pretty reasonable price for the console considering the specs.
The $80 games are obviously retarded though.

Well yeah, we all knew 70 was coming, but Nintendo's risking to accelerate past 70 outright and go all the way to 80+.
And then GTA6 is going to be at least 100. Probably even more depending on how successful Switch 2 is, it'll be extremely reactionary to what proves a successful trend, and after that, everyone else will adapt accordingly to what bar GTA6 sets.

I dont have friends to play Switch with. My mates are on my PC. Even if they were fellow tendies why would I want to see their mugs at 240p 10fps while we game?

to be fair these SD have the same read/write as sata SSD. They have better functionality and much faster than flash memory.

the specs arent even good

Remember that one?
Ironically I'm downloading a bunch of PSP games for my old PSP and I'm just gonna play that instead of buying a Switch 2.

Yeah I definitely hope the $80 doesn't become standard. We will see though.

I'm just not going to buy it. I simply won't purchase this console.

I am never paying for a video game again.

For $450 I disagree but alright.
I'd bet anything it's like the Switch 1 where they make a small profit off the consoles and then rake it in on the games.

modern game become more soulless

also become more expensive

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

They started by going from $40 games to $60 games, then increased agin to $70 games by the end of the generation

That's not a price hike, that's a generational change. Actual price hikes are out of the blue. Also only totk was ever $70 every other game before and since was 60 or less.

They also hiked the price of the Pro Controller compared to the Wii U's while downgrading its build quality and battery life.

Again, not a price hike. And the only reason the battery life was slightly worse was because they remembered to include all of the features like gyro and nfc compatibility.

Their online service is the worst of any platform with Windows 98 netcode

I shouldn't even really reply given you genuinely believe it uses windows 98 netcode just because remnant data was found but again, for 20 bucks you're getting more than the others offer which is just a couple of games on rotation, cloud saves and the occasional discount if you don't want to go to the higher tiers. There was also a real price hike for psn and xbl if I remember right about a year after the release of the XSX and PS5 as well as the PS5 itself getting one in Japan. I just wanted to give you a real example of that.
Anyway, NSO on the other hand has libraries of classic games that aren't on rotation, customer priority on their store, a music service and cloud saves.

They were charging people a subscription fee to store all the Pokemon they had caught in Pokemon Bank under the premise that they could keep transferring them forever, only to pull the rug out from under their subscribers by cutting the dex.

That's not anti-consumer. I think there's only a handful of pokemon that aren't in a switch game at the moment and presumably they'll be in AZ so you can in fact transfer them all up.

Don't have to like it, but you're kind of a retard if you act surprised

Thats the acceptance process retard. They want you to have a muted response and not reaction negatively. Fuck you, and fuck $70

I knew it was going to be $70 but I'm going to act surprised anyway to make a point

ok? let me know how that goes

They lied about improving the graphics and animations to justify the dex cut

Unfortunately you can actually see graphical improvements in the models, it was one of the first things people checked when SS released. And SV and PLA just had a complete rehauls with most mon in SV using new models outright.

and then charged more for worse games with less content than their predecessors.

The problem is that even before dlc they had more content than gen 6 and 7.

Any other company would be getting trashed for this.

Clearly not since other tamers get away with worse on the regular SMT V for instance had less than half 4 had and cut evolution on top of having less dungeons.

the #1 argument Pokemon fans always used against its competitors was that none of them allowed them to transfer all the monsters they caught from game to game like Pokemon did.

Not really, the argument was always having everything in one game. I don't know where you're getting this from. Anyway, post dexit pokemon still boasts a considerably larger roster than currently all but one game which is beaten when you add the dlc.

Nintendo actually does it and gets no criticism.

Nintendo received heavy amounts of criticism but the blow was lessened because of the gamespy bankruptcy on the Wii. In the case of Sony however there was much more to lose. Their systems have pretty aggressive DRM for all digital games, you might have heard of the cbomb scare a while back where being unable to verify locked people out of their digital purchases. With PS3 cmos batteries being dead by now had the store gone down all of those games would have died and while they fixed it for ps4 they never did for PS3.
Even then, no one cared about that people weren't criticising them as much as they were laughing at them.

I haven't seen a single other publisher as anal about this as Nintendo.

Because gaming media won't tell you when the others do it, you have to hear it through word of mouth, like when Square removed the live a live remake soundtracks or Sony when they removed the Xeno X soundtracks and yes, Sony could do that because they were the distributor for the ost. I'm pretty sure Atlus has done it for persona as well.

This is the real problem. I would have less of an issue paying more for games if they were better, but they're not.
The best game I've played this year cost 10 bucks, I'm not paying 8x that for something WORSE.

Its not acting surprised you simpleton. Its having a negative response to getting ripped off.

You surprised i scammed you?!

No, but im angry, faggot

or Sony when they removed the Xeno X soundtracks

What?

I think the new stuff coming out is really cool, but its pathetic to see people so excited for basic features and things that have been lacking for decades.
nintendo is finally getting proper voice chat in the year 2025 when that shit has been around since xbox live. we finally get gamecube ports after I got fed up from waiting and resorted to piracy and emulation about 12 years ago.
no, im not excited to play just windwaker. because hey, guess what? they are going to do that shitty thing where they drip feed like 3 games to NSO gamecube per direct or some horse shit. I have my entire gamecube library on my harddrive, ready to go right now.

this basic shit is not some big sell for the switch 2, just the games are. nobody would even be wondering why they need a switch 2 at all if the switch could actually run games in some acceptable manner, performance wise.

I would have given them a pass on not having a lot of games for it if it meant the new one would play all of my old Switch games at 1080p60

but apparently they are fucking charging for this and all of our games will play identically poorly as if it were on S1. Why would I pay to upgrade to this thing?

we still haven't seen the inevitable Switch Online price increase yet.

That's because it's not a big seller compared to ps+ and xbl. It's unlikely the price for that will increase at all

Just chiming in to say you're fucking retarded. $90 for a kids racing game is mental.

Okay and I literally said it's fine not to like it.
But all of the people who are acting surprised literally look like retards.

you havent lost it already? you are part of the problem. you accept shitty games at full price.

If they were actually shitty you wouldn't care about them at all tendiefag

Lick some more.

yet you couldnt type it?

They did no such thing.

They did and you picked the game that proves it, they fly treehouse out to work under the teams in the most literal sense preventing them from making any changes to the game. That's in addition to their one version policy meaning that they can't alter more than just the text.

they had started outright banning niche otaku games like Neptunia and Death end re;Quest Code Z from the eShop

These games weren't banned by Nintendo they were banned because the publishers wanted a censored version for China and a non censored version and of course that wasn't allowed due to the previously mentioned policy.
It's why worse games in that regard are still being released now.

if you think scarlet and violet were good, or legends arceus was good, then you are high on some shit.
get some oxygen in your brain, slow down on the galaxy gas

Until recently, the #1 argument Pokemon fans always used against its competitors was that none of them allowed them to transfer all the monsters they caught from game to game like Pokemon did.

By the end of the 3DS, it was the only thing that Pokémon games had to set it apart from other monster tamers and JRPGs. After that was gone with the move to Switch and nothing was improved to compensate, it became a shovelware-tier series that's priced like it's a premium game.

Again if you know they are shit, why the fuck do you care about the price?
Surely you weren't going to buy the children's games you hate anyway???

while ignoring the fact that Xbox has FREE IMPROVEMENTS for ALL YOUR GAMES with backwards compatibility.

Xbox does it the way Nintendo does by the way. Content upgrades are paid upgrades while minor ones are free.
As for bc Nintendo one upped them with hardware based backwards compatibility rather than emulation.

is this because of trump tariffs or is it just corporate greed?

The console would have been $450 no matter what. Anyone who actually thinks those specs would be sold for any cheaper is trolling.

The latter with the former being a conveniently timed excuse.

Because it's not true.
You're confusing BC for the upgrades and the upgrades are mostly free with the exception of upgrades that add new content.

These prices were announced before todays tariffs so who really knows.

I said it in another thread, but the launch PS3 was only that expensive because it had PS2 hardware built in for backwards compatibility. I think they were hoping people would see it as two consoles in one rather than paying $600 for one console, but they severely miscalculated.
There is literally nothing by comparison that justifies why Nintendo is price-gouging every aspect of the Switch 2. It's just pure inexplicable greed. The Sony fuck-up this is actually similar to is the Vita's memory cards.

Resolution and framerate improvements are paid upgrades for Nintendo.
Xbox gives you both of those completely for free.
Besides going backwards compatible to their Xbox One console is obviously not emulation, that's only the case for 360 and the original Xbox because of the unique architecture.
How much is Nintendo paying you to make stupid fucking comments like this?

it was the only thing that Pokémon games had to set it apart from other monster tamers and JRPG

That and having more monsters, more battle modes, more minigames, PvP, trading a post game.
All of which can be said now.

lmaoooo this post sounds like something someone would post here about the wii u in 2014

With inflation

Most of our wages didn't fucking inflate in the last eight years to match, you daft cunt.

even if inflation was real

Are we pretending it's not? And if it is, it's Drumpf's fault somehow? And if it's not, it's a good thing? And if it's not, we deserve it?

Resolution and framerate improvements are paid upgrades for Nintendo.

They aren't, there's already a list of which games are getting free upgrades
nintendo.com/us/gaming-systems/switch-2/transfer-guide/games-with-free-updates/?srsltid=AfmBOoqv7nn4NW1HNFCvt-SSYsOfG5MNuEgFR3-rn6vwrFFzRlIr_c7v
The only ones you have to pay for are the ones with content upgrades which is the same as Xbox.

Besides going backwards compatible to their Xbox One console is obviously not emulation, that's only the case for 360 and the original Xbox because of the unique architecture.

It's all emulation anon, that's why they have a list of incompatible games and change frequently as licences run out.

Shouldn't I be asking you how much Microsoft is paying you to make "stupid fucking comments" that can be disproven with a Google search?

because shitty games should not succeed. the people buying this crap have no standards and these games shatter sales records despite the criticism.
id be lying to you if I said I never played pokemon, but I got off the train when it started to derail. I watched these games get worse and they only got more popular, its fascinating.

shitty games should not succeed

Ermmmm but it's okay for children to have shitty media tho? Children deserve slop and you're weird for arguing otherwise fr fr no cap?

they think I'll pay $90 for Seth Rogen Donkey Kong

This was all they had to do and I would've happily given them $90 what retards

It's all emulation.

Patently wrong.
Also that list of games you linked is for their GameShare feature retard. They said as much in their direct.
They will not raise the FPS cap in any of those games for free. The new Pokemon and Metroid games are going to require an upgrade fee to run at acceptable framerates on the Switch 2.

'b-but Metroid has mouse control on the Switch 2 so it's totally worth the price cause that's CONTENT!'

Go ahead and say some stupid shit like that.

I'm just getting irrationally upset on other people's behalf

ok

karen.jpg - 299x168, 6.4K

Ask again in a week.

Incidentally, the upgrades are free if you have Switch Online.

Oh so just fake outrage I got it. Sorry, I misunderstood originally.

the upgrades are free if you have Switch Online

*NSO+

Corporate wouldn't have known tariffs were coming so these are probably prices that are biden-era.

Pokemon's literal slogan for decades was "gotta catch 'em all." In Japan, it was "get Pokemon," not "only get the Pokemon we bothered programming in." It's worse to explicitly promise a feature, make it your #1 selling point for years, charge people a subscription fee to maintain it, then take it away out of sheer laziness and lie about why you did it while replacing it with nothing than it is to just never offer the feature to begin with.
Also, Pokemon was already shovelware-tier on the 3DS *with* the dex. When they took the dex away, the rest of the games didn't get better, they actually got worse.

Yeah, that.

I kinda expected the switch to be $450, the part that’s actually fucked is paying $90 for Mario Kart

The upgrades for the Zelda games are free.*

*WITH EXPANSION PACK

Let your subscription lapse and you're going back to 30 FPS/900p.

So get the bundle and buy it for 50.

Yeah once they started talking about 4K and the 250gb of storage and stuff I was like "okay $400 isn't happening"

Dunno why you'd want to let that happen though. I fucking love having all these old N64 and GB games.

Educated guess is the price bump for physical is due to tariffs, everything else is pic related.

Also that list of games you linked is for their GameShare feature retard.

Had you opened the link you would have seen

Free updates for select Nintendo Switch games

By connecting your Nintendo Switch 2 to the internet, you can download free updates that may improve performance or add support for features such as GameShare in select games. The contents of these free updates will differ depending on the game.

So no, it's not just game share.
Why you would think that when several games in that list are single player games like Link's Awakening or in the case of pokemon absolutely require two separate copies is beyond me.

How many more "stupid fucking comments" are you going to make before you accept that you're wrong.

Also, Pokemon was already shovelware-tier on the 3DS *with* the dex. When they took the dex away, the rest of the games didn't get better, they actually got worse.

True. Lost the Battle Frontier during the 3DS. Now we lost the Battle Facility.

There are better ways to play all those games and more for free without being price-gouged by Nintendo.

Probably. But this is easier.

141240.jpg - 640x480, 66.07K

Judging by this post it seems like your standards just got lower.

It's okay the people that go on and on about how they downloaded every retro game ever usually play like 3 of them and then the rest sit on a hard drive forever.

It's greed. These prices have probably been planned for years and they're insanely high everywhere, not just the US. Nintendo boiled the frog during the Switch 1 era and now they're turning up the heat.

talking about the nuSwitch

a bunch of old men are having their daily pokemon melty anyway

Christ you guys are annoying.

True. I've probably played more retro games on my Switch than anything else in the past year or so.

I think the worst part is that they don't even understand what they're talking about.

MAY improve performance

What this means: You can actually consistently hit the 30 FPS cap now. (Wowee!)
Have you considered the fact they revealed GameShare is coming to singleplayer titles like Super Mario Odyssey as well?
How are you gonna use two systems for that game, genius?
Try and actually look into what you're talking about before shilling this shit for your masters at Nintendo, kid.

Have you considered the fact they revealed GameShare is coming to singleplayer titles like Super Mario Odyssey as well?

How are you gonna use two systems for that game, genius?

Probably the 2nd player Cappy thing.

melty

I wish the sandwich making simulator with the monster tamer mini-game let you fry up some grilled cheese.

yessandwich.png - 640x360, 198.29K

The co-op cappy mode that works exclusively on one system?

that works exclusively on one system?

obviously not anymore chuddie

i aint paying $90 for any game nigga
its a shame the fucking man-toddlers will still gobble this shit up so they lose literally nothing by doing it

Thankfully the software architecture seemingly looks similar to switch 1 so emulation should come pretty quick

aeda.png - 1271x700, 811.6K

Well, if they're adding content they'd better ask for $20. I wouldn't want to be unfair to Nintendo for doing me this great service of online cappy mode.

I think this whole situation is the unholy result of poor communication and gamers being the biggest, loudest fucking retards on the planet

Nintendo fails to make it clear that the game-key cards are only for select releases, not all

Suddenly dozens of threads about how Nintendo is erasing physical games entirely

Nintendo doesn’t talk about the prices at all in the direct

Rampant misinformation about how much things cost because of regional differences

The cost still sucks, but so much of this shit could have been mitigated with better messaging. Nintendo is running out of time to correct the shit that some of the biggest talking heads on the internet are saying lest it significantly impacts their launch

Battle Frontier was never intended as revealed by the Teraleak, Masuda was adamantly honest about that "we didn't bother because less than 1% of the playerbase would appreciate it, while the 99% others are all retards who are used to instant gratification phone games that don't challenge them" spiel.

The thing that interests me about this whole thing is how the Switch 2 basically is the "Switch Pro" that everyone was asking for if you think about it.

I thought there was nothing but hype?
What happened?

What this means: You can actually consistently hit the 30 FPS cap now. (Wowee!)

So you're suggesting that these games that predominantly run at 60fps will be downgraded. Okay.

Try and actually look into what you're talking about before shilling this shit for your masters at Nintendo, kid.

Oh wow, you pulled out the edgy "kid" card. Regardless you haven't actually added any new information to this conversation. In fact you've only destroyed your own argument by showing that the single player games aren't on there for obvious reasons
Just to drive it home though, those six are the only games currently on that list
Meaning on the free update list

Arms

Link's Awakening

Echoes of Wisdom

pokemon SV

game builder garage

NSMBU

Are all getting upgrades unrelated to gsmeshare.

Whoever's paying you to spread misinformation should get a refund.

chuddie

He's clearly a tranny, he clearly doesn't think of the consequences of his actions.

kikes (japan)

We started getting information that wasn't a part of the direct, such as console price, game prices and information about some games (see: all the important flagship titles and games that developers don't want leaked pre-release) having cartridges that are nothing more than glorified download codes.
Turns out the tech demo game being paid and digital-only was a bad omen for what was really going on with this thing, it's shaping up to be a retardedly expensive investment.

Whoever's paying you to spread misinformation

Adults who obsess over kids games they supposedly don't like have quite a lot in common with the average janitor, I promise you that.

You're in for some real disappointment, tendie, I'm sorry Nintendo rides you so hard but perhaps they'd ease up if you didn't like it so much.

It's not poor communication in the slightest, all of this information was either on the direct or the site.
The issue is the age old problem of Nintendo derangement syndrome.

The direct was meh as hell. The one exclusive that looked decent ended up being From shovelware and then Nintendo just dumped a shitload of nothing but bad news on everyone right after.

To be fair, if my competitors were basically cobbling together junk that was worse than what I could lazily shit out I would put less effort in too.
It's kind of like when you first get a job and you want to be amazing at it but then you realise it doesn't really matter because everyone's cutting corners anyway.

Im not going to get the new switch. I am priced out of the ecosystem.

Because it's not for backwards compatability, it's the cost to upgrade to enhanced ports of certain games. Even then, apparently Expansion Pass just includes the upgrades which is moreso a grift on getting you to pay more for NSO. Even then it feels totally superfluous for games like the Zeldas considering all it seems to add outside of what's expected is a fucking GPS app.

2.png - 261x333, 21.01K

you don't see them charging $80 for digital games

you will

Making consumers go out of their way to seek out information after an info briefing is a massive mistake, especially when that information pertains to software distribution and cost.

As a result you now have people who believe you need to pay money in order to play your old games, that all physical cards are glorified access keys, the games come standard at $80, etc.

It’s a complete fucking mess that could have been solved with clearer terminology (aka retard proof) and a ten minute briefing at some point in the presentation.

I choose to believe they're being paid, it's just too pathetic for someone to do that with their free time for free.

The schadenfreude watching nintendo go full retard trying to fuck you dumbasses as hard as possible is just phenomenal.

If the Switch 2 sells well they absolutely will because they realize dumb motherfuckers will buy anything.

cope

Not talking about those things on stream was not a bug it was a feature.
You really think they wouldn't know these things would not be well received? That it was totally a coincidence that the price points, one of the most vital pieces of information, would be skipped like that? Nintendo? Who's so extremely autistic about keeping every minute detail under their greedy fat thumb?

They will in due time.
Switch 2 will be a huge success, this will inspire GTA6 to be $100 for real, probably even higher, then GTA6's huge success will inspire everyone else to start hiking, and everyone will gobble it up because they're already exploiting the "MUH TARIFFS" narrative to justify the hike.

Yeah, i think switch 2 did it.
Im okay with moving on from video games. I still have the backlog and maybe indies, but yeah. For the most part, Im done,

I feel peace

Making consumers go out of their way to seek out information after an info briefing is a massive mistake, especially when that information pertains to software distribution and cost.

The problem is that only really applies to the price, which of course everyone was going to check afterwards anyway. Everything else was in the direct including the fact that most upgrades are free and the key thing is for select games.
The problem is, again, Nintendo derangement syndrome.
Organising and being loud while obfuscating the truth is what they've always done both people and gaming journalists.

I saw.

this will inspire GTA6 to be $100 for real,

You know, GTA doesn't have the pull you think it does. 5 was propped up almost entirely by whales buying multiple copies.

I don’t think it was an accident, I think it was a bad idea that could cost them in the future, big difference.

I think they got cold feet about being open about the price, massively overestimated the reading comprehension of the average consumer, then proceeded to reap the consequences.

It wouldn’t have gone over well, but had things been clearer I am absolutely confident they would have gone over better than they are now. Confusion is always the enemy in situations like this

IMG_1166.jpg - 1290x544, 118.54K

I've seen this gore

gore.jpg - 279x227, 25.93K

Can someone more familiar with this let me know if physical is fucked? Are the majority of the games going to be that weird-download card physical? I'd prefer a hard physical item because I can lend it to friends or sell it if need be. Plus wouldn't this shit fucking brick if servers go down?

This is the kind of shit that makes people think that Nintendo hate is artificial

First-party games they'll probably try to put on actual physical carts, but I would expect most other games to just a key cart or just a download code.
The reason they did this is because devs would pay for the lowest storage cart, load a bit of the game on there, and then require you to download the rest of the game online.
Now you can just skip that altogether and save even more money.

are the majority of games going to be the download card

Depends on how lazy third parties want to be. A lot of them did this shit on the switch too. Nintendo probably won’t do it with any of their games

can I sell it

Probably. This seems like a way of allowing you to do so by removing the download code step

wouldn’t this shit brick if servers go down

If you don’t have the game installed, probably

Are the majority of the games going to be that weird-download card physical?

Anon, of all the games announced today, and there were a lot, only two were game keys. Even cyberpunk, a game you would think would be download only, wasn't.
Why the fuck would you think the majority would be game keys?

EVERYONE over if Nintendo does succeed with it because it creates a new precedent for 80 dollar games

Why are you blaming Nintendo here?
Microsoft and sony did the price hike long before Nintendo did.
It's shit either way but come on now.

I think it wouldn't have gone well even if it had been mentioned on the announcement. It's a really really bitter pill to swallow not just for Nintendo things but for the vidya industry as a whole.
They got greedy as fuck. Plain as simple. There was no way this was ever gonna go well no matter what. What the Switch had over the others was being portable and specially so cheap. Now it's still portable but now it's even more expensive than the others while also being way less powerful. And that the option whose big pull was being cheaper is now the one getting this greedy makes it twice as worse and makes for way worse optics than seeing the greedy fuck being just more greedy.

Considering the last couple of years of the switch 1, those games weren't even worth $60
let alone going to fucking $80+
fuck right off

Never said it would have gone over well, mate. All I’m saying is that they now have more problems to deal with than if they had just been up front about things like price, game key cards, and backwards compatibility

What is worth 60 to you.

game key cards, and backwards compatibility

Those were covered in great detail

Well damn, very disgusting of Nintendo to hide this from their Direct, even more so that they have the hubris to do such a thing at all.

Not a port of a Switch game that's a port of a Wii U game that's for fucking sure.

So basically >99% of all switch games are worth it to you given less than 1% are Wii U ports.

Retarded nintensnoy

Yes, physical is fucked. This is endgame levels of fucked.

How fucking retarded are you?
It was incredibly clear.
