I have to say this was one of those top tier moments where the payoff was absolutely worth the amount of slop he forced me to witness between all those ridiculous ants. It felt like at the end here he was also really tired of them and was like man what am i even doing anymore.

Back when the anime first came out retards just said it was a subversion because the last main villain they fight in the anime isn't fought by the MC, but in reality the anime just wasn't finished and it wasn't the last arc by a long stretch. This was still the era where a lot of people didn't look into the manga and just assumed where an anime ended was the complete ending.
