They're going to have to apologise again

They're launching with Mario Kart, they're bruteforcing any problem they may have had, vs. 3DS being a dry desert for its first year.

at this point you'd have to be a complete fuckin idiot to be an early adopter of a console

Maybe I should get in early so they’ll give me free games or something like back then.

I genuinely don't think Mario Kart is going to be enough. Nintendo obviously thinks it will be, as they seemingly have absolutely nothing else exclusive for the Switch 2 at launch and only Donkey Kong a month later. A $450 Mario Kart machine doesn't have a lot of appeal.

Early switch units were way easier to jailbreak. They fixed it in a design revision soe time later. Buying now means you'll have more of a chance of getting one that can be hacked easily.

I'm still checking out copies of MK8D regularly at my workplace despite is being close to seven years old now. MK9 will be a system seller.

The problem this is time is Trump's declaring a trade war against the rest of the world.
They also created a Japanese Only Switch to get around the Yen being so weak, so the Japanese wouldn't be priced out or have to worry about their stock being bought out by foreigners.

I don't doubt it will move systems; it's Mario Kart. Will it move enough to be a success? I dunno. I see a lot of similarities between the launch of the 3DS and Switch 2.

The problem this is time is Trump's declaring a trade war against the rest of the world.

Trump has fucking nothing to do with this for fuck's sake.

Why do brown people make these posts?

the 3ds must have been pure greed if they were able to effortlessly make such a desperate price cut.
The wii U never recieved such a thing because they were already losing money

This thing confused me when I saw it in stores (didn't read anything about it on the internet.) I thought it was just another DS with some new gimmick. I remember thinking, "They're still selling the DS? Why don't they make a new console?" I thought the same thing with the Wii U as well, lol. I thought it was just another version of the Wii.

It was. If you're able to cut the price by 30% in just four months after launch the original price was grossly and unjustly inflated.

30% in 4 months

Was it really that much and that fast?

what you're failing to grasp is the concept of a loss leader.
consoles are often sold at negative profit because they know you'll need to buy games and live service subscription for it and they hope that will make up for it.
selling your handheld at a profit instead of a loss isn't greed.

There's also that Donkey Kong game, I think that releases at or near launch. That's one of the few announcements that actually interested me, and everything else that was cool is 2026.

yea
Nintendo was so embarrased they ended up giving away their entire gba virtual console library for free to early adopters and never offering it for sale.

can you explain the prices in canada, mexico, australia, etc?

that's perfect english, pedro.

wii u didn't have any subscriptions, it was a loss leader because they were taken for a ride on the price of components and there was no choice.
3DS was cheaper maybe because they've been making dual screen ARM chipset handhelds for 7 years and the process was well optimized

Just like with the Wii, normal people will keep buying original switch games because "it's basically the same thing but cheaper."
It'll be a toy for rich kids and man children.

You're an ignorant dumbass shoving your fingers into your ears and closing your eyes. I want you to pay attention to what happens in the next few months for the love of god.

The main difference being that Iwata was alive back then. The current leadership at Nintendo has no integrity whatsoever.

So if I buy on release, will I get a Wii Ambassador Program?

You're a demented retard determined to absolve a corporation for any responsibility for their choices due to your obsession with a US politician. Explain to me how Trump has resulted in Australians being charged $700 for the Switch 2.

As if countless of retards won't buy this no matter the price.

I hate these early 3DS images with the blue circle pad

Why didn’t they buy the 3DS?

Nah, we're about to enter an economic recession or depression; very different circumstances here.

But anon, don't you know trump is simultaneously a huge retard but also so smart and powerful that any action he makes has a direct impact on every other country in the world. America the greatest country in the world, except when my trans friends are getting their feelings hurt, than it's the worst country ever that I will never take any efforts in leaving.

jailbreaking a switch is like 3 steps nowadays esse. please read the literal second post in the thread again and tell me with a straight face that you're not brown.

I'm glad I'm not the only one being reminded of the 3DS launch. They're making the exact same mistakes of the DS -> 3DS transition as with Switch -> Switch 2. I cannot believe they fucked it up again.

My guess is that Nintendo wasn't that big at the time and it was before people started collecting and hoarding Nintendo consoles.

Realistically how few units would Nintendo need to sell to be forced to price drop the Switch 2?

Nintendo wasn't that big at the time

The DS sold 150 million units

My guess is that Nintendo wasn't that big at the time

zoomers are funny

There is only one way to settle this.
Both post your hands with timestamps, and we will laugh at whoever is least white.
Ready? Alright, go!

have to pay $5.49 to read the apology

For fucks sake anon, Nintendo was huge since the NES.

Nintendo wasn't big at the time of the DS and Wii? Jesus Christ, are you 12?

This might be the most retarded post I've ever seen on Anon Babble. Quite an achievement.

do you retards really think that nintendo didn't incorporate potential tarriffs into their price point? It's not like it's been a secret that the us was gonna to tariffs, of course the multinational corporation is gonna preemptively prep for it. that is probably why it is 500 and not 400.

Okay retards, my point is that back then we didn't have manchildren buying each and every edition of a DS as we do now.

physical apology letter $19.99

Their 2025 Q3-4 will be bad, and they'll ease up on the jewishness a bit for 2026 to rabid applause

that is probably why it is 500 and not 400.

Your IQ being under 80 is probably why your posts are so fucking stupid.

lol there were, nintendo even had special editions that were only sold at their club nintendo thing and they would end up on ebay for a pretty penny

The prices are high in every region except Japan. The PS5 certainly has a much higher bill of materials and is $100 less with a bundled copy of Astro Bot.

Which Fire Emblem will they give me this time? Path of Radiance please, I still haven't done that one.

It's ok to be a zoomer anon, don't need to pretend you aren't one.

didn't the Wii U and the Switch also had a price cut?

Wii U had its price cut by $50 ten months after launch. I don't recall the Switch ever having a price cut but happy to be corrected.

The more things change, the more things stay the same.

I'm from the future. They are going to make a free version of NSO with only online functionality.

learn about price discrimination, also the ps5 price was far too low at launch (which was 500 for standard version without extra games) which is why you had many scalpers and shortages. now you actually have a high supply.

Learn to move on from Trump. For your sanity's sake.

that's the hottest thing since Zelda had her first period

no games

I bought it (XL version)
Love this little nigger machine like you wouldn't believe, though the 3d part never actually looks right to me, so I have it turned off most of the time.

Switch 2 only has 1

Apologize

No, that isn't gonna unfuck them on this one.

Cartridges don't have the actual games and require you to still download them and cost $90

internal hard drive is 256GB and the games they wanna have on there are 100GB games with 4k support

Added region locking back after switch1 showed how successful not region locking is

The "expandable memory" is only a single slot and they further limited the what cards you can use and a 1tb or 2tb card is about the max of what you can do (so enjoy a whole 10-20 tripple A games) and on top of that Nintendo can't be trusted to keep track of your online DRM and will end support for your console so if you don't have it saved, it's gone.

the hardware is less powerful than a steam deck for $150 more

Want you to pay a subscription fee to use voice chat.

Want you to pay a fee for an upgraded version of the games you own

No apps or app support or internet browser

Costs more than a PS5

honestly.... wtf were they thinking?
This is worse than the PS3 being $699 at launch.
It's worse than XBONE trying to sell you a TV station that sometimes plays videogames.

It's worse than PS VITA forcing you to use $100 shitty memory cards that only they make.

Congratulations Nintendo, you have made the shittiest greediest game launch of all time!
I didn't think it be possible, but you niggers pulled it off

Cartridges don't have the actual games and require you to still download them and cost $90

What? So what the fuck is the extra $10 for? An empty case?

i rest my case. anon is a brown, simple as that.

jailbreaking a switch is like 3 steps nowadays

one of those steps involves microsoldering, you clown

skill issue

Cartridges don't have the actual games and require you to still download them and cost $90

This isn't a universal thing, there are cartridges that have the full game, like even Cyberpunk is on a 64 GB cart

Added region locking back after switch1 showed how successful not region locking is

This is a specific Switch 2 in Japan that's Japan-only, every other version is region-free

damn bro you at 300% magnification?

This is a specific Switch 2 in Japan that's Japan-only

every other version is region-free

the jp e-shop is still jp-onry. you're not fooling anyone

b-but muh point cards

it's a flimsy workaround that can be taken away anytime
