Let poorfags cry. Real fans like me were saving money for it.
It's gonna be funny when rich e-celebs still buy GTA VI when it's $100 and nobody is going to call them out on their hypocrisy after making a clickbait video over Nintendo's pricing.
Let poorfags cry. Real fans like me were saving money for it.
I got GTA V for free on Epic Game Store and still haven't even bothered to play it. Who the fuck is paying $100 for a sandbox game just go outside bro lmao
GTA VI is a game of the decade anticipated by everyone, it could easily cost $120 and people would still buy it day one. you can't even compare it to a cartoon android-tier shit for kids like Bananza
I would literally spend 120€ on GTA VI and I'm not spending more than 70€ on any Nintendo game.
I didn't know there were that many brown people wanting to suck rockstar's cock here. That's depressing for future games.
It really sucks that we're dealing with prices going up everywhere but I'm still buying the Switch 2
Not in Australia
Man, the past few years were absolute peak gaming years for me. I knew this golden age wouldn’t last forever, but still... it’s sad that it’s over. Gaming feels officially dead to me now, so I’m done buying new games. I’ll just stick with the old ones I already love.
That said, does anyone have a list of must-play games I might’ve missed? I’m open to any platform and any genre.... as long as it’s good,
What is wrong with you?
Bananza looks better than GTA 6
last few years
golden age
Jesus Christ how underage
I'm 18. I'm literally legal.
I knew this golden age wouldn’t last forever, but still...
Nintendo hasn’t been close to good since the Wii, and they’ve been in full evil corporation mode since the failure of the WiiU. Assuming you aren’t baiting, dive into Nintendo’s 1st/2nd party lineup from the SNES-GameCube. Then work your way through some of the third party classics.
Orange man adds tariffs
Nothing to do with the outcry even a little you Anon Babbleobssesed faggot, nobody is saying this. It's telling you think it does though, lol.
Seriously how hard is it to project elsewhere that Trump is a moron
What are you even talking about?
I'm not baiting! I genuinely enjoyed Smash Ultimate, Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Engage, Mario Odyssey, the two Zelda games and their spin-offs, and plenty of other titles. I’ve also had a great time with non-Nintendo games (like Monster Hunter World/Rise, Elden Ring, Metaphor.. etc). It was a golden age for me!
Right now, I’m just looking for games I might want to play in the future. Honestly, I feel like the industry is already dead, especially with the new prices.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions, but I’ve already played the ones available on NSO. Are there any great games worth playing that never made it to NSO? I’d love a list of must-play titles.... or even a reference to a good list if you know one.
Consoles had their golden age 25 years ago. It's been nothing but downhill ever since. PC is the only good platform left.
I'll shill UFO 50 I guess
I don't know why don't you try reading and using a little brain power? A lot to ask on this board, I know
ah nevermind, you might be too young for this kind of gameplay
GTA VI is a game of the decade anticipated by everyone
most overrated game in history, only liked by wannabe gangbangers. Only the first one was really good
The thread is about people wanting to boycott Nintendo but they were actually going to buy the console anyway. The trump tariff is also news, nothing to do with poll.
I don’t mind at all! I’ve played plenty of old games, and this one looks like a lot of fun. I’m definitely going to put it in the list. Thanks!
Bananza looks better than GTA 6
Yeah, the Wii era texture resolution really does it for me
I wasn't going to buy it anyway. Nintendo made a great case for not supporting them this week.
golden era
the best you can say about the 2020 era of gaming is that it was at least better than the late 2000's and late 2010's
How exactly does this work? You are pre-ordering directly from the Nintendo site? Are you buying it directly from Nintendo or does this allow you to pre-order it at certain stores?
dude just let other countries tariff us at 100% for half the shit we export and let them take advantage of us forever
who cares if it makes our country go bankrupt in 20 years I WANT MY CHEAP BING BING WAHOO
It's presented as a collection of 50 lost games from the 80-90's from a defunct company.
In reality it's made recently by a bunch of veteran indies copying the style of specific old games but with a pinch of modern sensibilities.
A few surprising gems in it, such as Mini & Max, Mortol...
who are you quoting?
It's a preorder directly from Nintendo, but to qualify you need 12 consecutive months of NSO and 50 hours of gameplay time as of April 2, 2025.
50 hours of gameplay time as of April 2, 2025.
Nintendo making sure nobody gets that preorder
It's more to fight scalpers if anything. It still is kinda dumb though
50 hours across all Switch 1 games is a laughably easy number to reach. If you own a Switch 1 and somehow don't have 50 hours played then you aren't a gamer and do not deserve that preorder.
My favorite is when they go on an hour long rant demanding nobody buy something followed by
Well I'm going to buy one because it's my job.
As if they don't just kinda want the thing and the price doesn't bother them.
It's an anti-scalping measure. You can hit 50 hours pretty easily if you actually play games.
Wanting to pay higher prices to flex cash is poorfag behavior.
spends more time on Anon Babble than actually playing video games
disappointed in the price but if SRW Y has an enhanced edition i'll buy boughted
tariffs
i'll see how that plays out
Looks like you let your gamer license expire, mate
2000+ hours while having a regular office job
digital
tariffs
if digital undercuts physical prices the mafia get involved
Doesn't stop Steam from doing it. Black Myth Wukong wasn't 80$, unless you're buying the Gigga Monke Edition or something.
did Wukong have a physical PC release?
And are these physical copies of Switch 2 games going to be "legit"?
OP here, I was talking about the recent tariffs that made Nintendo delay pre orders. Games were already $80 before that.
They were going to buy anyway
Knew it. Almost like it was all faux outrage from the beginning.
I mean, that’s exactly why I called it the golden age. I’ve been gaming for over 15 years, and the last few years were hands down the best. I wasn’t even born before that era, so I wouldn’t know what things were like back then.
Ah, that makes sense. I’ll keep an eye out for those games. Thanks again.
What are they Thinking?
Easy
Their going to buy it anyway
And they're right. It's an embarrassment of consumers, but the consumers must have their Mario Kart at any cost.
I probably hit 50 hours in March 2017 off Breath of the Wild and Bomberman alone
These games aren't impacted by tariffs, how are you people just not able to listen, the 32GB Switch carts were expensive either companies ate the difference or charged more, or in many cases just didn't use them and gave you the cheapest cart available and forced you to download the game, since Nintendo didn't have to pay a licensing fee for their games they ate the difference, Switch 2 introduces significantly faster carts, and if you think that these aren't going to cost a cent more you're dead wrong, now carts have 2 major costs to contend with, both capacity and speed, and speed is non-negotiable, the costs are clearly so high that Nintendo had to introduce those key cards for third parties and push their own prices up to compensate.
This chart from a Nintendo fiscal report is based off the first six months of the Switch's lifespan, March to September 2017.
85% percent of the earliest Switch owners were between the age of 19-44.

endless bitching
You people have the dumbest fucking priorities. Go to a store and look at the price of everything, is it surprising that a video game costs 80 dollars?
why aren't you bitching about nuggie prices on the video game board
pikashock.jpg
Nah it’s fucking everywhere. And again. Go to a store, look at the price of anything, 80 dollars looks pretty tame now.
You have to understand, the people complaining also say tendie constantly
A similar stat in Japan. While the west would've typically waited for Christmas, Japan in 2017 got to enjoy the Switch over Golden Week, but you still see a signifcant skew of early Switch owners towards adults.
The earliest Switch 2 owners will be working adults with disposable income. I really don't think people that actually have a real paycheck are going to need to think this hard about budgeting an extra $10 for a one-time purchase of a game, or for a $450 for a console meant to last 4-8 years.
I mean it is what it's. The best advice is not buy videogames if you can't afford them at the moment. People need to have priorities.
