Video game companies aren't your friends. Grow up. The tariffs haven't affected Sony or Microsoft AT ALL, and Nintendo is even selling the system for the correct price over in Japan. Nintendo made god only knows how much money from the Switch 1, it has this massive warchest of gold, yet people are acting like they cannot afford to drop the price and just accept having everything sell at a small loss. They can. They absolutely can. I can promise you, they can. If Iwata were alive now, he'd drop the price to $425, and drop MK World to $70, and change Gamechat to simply be a staple if you have the $20 subscription, and change that upgrade ports bullshit to default for all First Party Switch 1 games period while offering that extra stuff as paid for DLC instead, and clarify that only third party games will be download key only physicals.
They could very easily fix all this, but they believe they don't need to, that people will buy it all anyways and not care. I can guaran fucking tee you, when mom and little timmy look at the games and she notices a fucking mario game is listed at $80 while surrounded by $60 games, she's going to assume its a typo or store error. You might say "those are the casuals, they don't count" then welcome to the Wii U era again, its casuals that caused the Switch 1 to be successful, now they've been prices out of the market.
