I couldn't get into D2 at all and I have no idea why, I'm giving it one last chance later in the year after cleaning up my steam library a bit more.
Tried it in Oct last year as Emily and bounced of it thinking maybe I didn't like Emily's kit, or needed to warm up with a D1 replay.
After having a good time replaying D1+DLCs went back to D2 as Corvo and finished the mission in the semi-abandoned asylum(?) and just bounced right off the game again.

Idk what it is but I just wasn't connecting with the game at all.

I had only played Dishonored 1 a once before marathoning the entire franchise last month. I regret not playing Dishonored 2 earlier. I tried once and was immediately put off by Corvo talking. During my marathon, I played as Emily and it was a much more enjoyable experience. I played it correctly (ghost and clean hands for every game) and D2 had the most fun powers for nonlethal. DOTO was the worst, with the shittiest blink in the series, way less powers, no way to upgrade them, and the powers being bad.

If you get the charm that increases powers (it comes free with the DLC), you can skip 99% of the game just blinking.
