huh
Huh
a fucking interactive manual is underwhelming? no fucking shit
I mean it is only $10...
Ten fucking dollars
You'll buy it if you want to be able to calibrate your joycons when they start drifting
And valve Aperture Desk Job was free and perfect.
right? nintendo should've just included this with the console.
charge $250 for Wii Sports
best selling video game of all time
charge only $10 for Switch 2 Welcome Tour
everyone loses their minds over how "expensive" it is
Just how entitled can people get?
maybe it should've just been included with the console then nobody would be complaining about it...
Bruh is 12
peopel largely don't know that nintendo actually charged extra $50 for it
i didn't either till just now
the recent reggie story where he claims that he got it in for free also didn't help
though apparently, it was never gonna sell for 200 like in japan because US retailers said that they didn't want to sell it for that much
So who knows. If there was no wii sports free bundle would they have upped the price in the US anyway to appease retailers? How much do retailers make from upping the price to 250 anyway?
Oh, Nintendo. A $50 piece of Wii software costs about $35-40 depending on publisher. Nintendo titles are about $35. EA, Activision are closer to $40 to pay for the $5 licensing fee that kicks back to Nintendo. You'll notice that those are larger profit dollar amounts on a cheaper product.
Nintendo consoles are also different. Taking the Wii as an example: a launch Wii cost probably $220 to make, the retailer bought it for $235 and sold it for $250. Everybody made money. As cost to produce dropped to the $150 range, the retailer bought it for $200, and sold it for $250. Everybody made more money.
Walk in to a Target and see how much space is dedicated to Nintendo versus MS and Sony. Last I checked, it's about a 60/40 split. 60% Nintendo, then 40% everybody else. Walk in to a Gamestop and look at how close to the front door the Wii and DS sections are. They are the only new product that Gamestop can make money on, therefore Nintendo is the first thing you see when you walk in.
I dud a quick search and found this on a forums, of course it's just guess numbers, but kinda gives an idea maybe. We got wii sports for a decreased price for sure i guess
You zoomers really don't know what it's like to not be scammed lmao jesus
No, I know this is a scam. It should've just been included with the console.
So is the Switch 2 going to have anything to dick around with out of the box? DS, Wii, DSi, 3DS, and WiiU all had at least something to mess around with as soon as you booted up the console, even if that something was as simple as Pictochat or the Mii maker. It doesn't make a difference to me when I buy a console since I'm an adult with a credit card, but I feel bad for any kid that's getting this as their first console because their parents remembered Nintendo being cool when they were young. If you're a kid and you get a new console with maybe one or two games then having something else on there to play with off the bat massively increases the value.
Then again, today kids are probably going to go straight to downloading Fortnite and if they already have other devices with touchscreens and digital cameras built in then it's possible they wouldn't be interested in any of the free software consoles used to come with.
Wii sports came free with a wii
Yes.. as long as you pay kek
But it costs $1,272 though? Where are you getting $10 from?
...what?
reggie actually had to beg iwata to allow wii sports to be a pack in because NoJ really doesn't like giving away free games
$510 + tax + tariff + tip
only $10
Read the thread you fucking morons
Too cheap. Should've been $90.
I read the thread and still left my reply. Deal with it.
I read the thread
Imagine having to pay extra for a fucking instruction manual.
Nintendo is going full jew with the Switch 2.
We needed Reggie for Welcome Tour.
I mean it was pretty obvious they would
jenni
yeah that's a tranny
I bought mhgu for 10 dollars
I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. It's just basic bullshit walk around and learn about the console while TINY minigames about the features like the mouse etc. Why WOULDN'T you package this with the console so people can learn about the damn thing while they download shit onto their system? This isn't Wii sports where it's fun for the whole family to waggle and play it's just walk around the switch 2 and learn about the damn thing you just bought.
How much do retailers make from upping the price to 250 anyway?
It's actually quite a lot compared to 200 since retailers traditionally earn a percentage of the retail price, that extra 50 could translate to an additional 25-40 revenue per unit sold
So is the Switch 2 going to have anything to dick around with out of the box?
If you have NSO you get Nintendo Classics: Gamecube on day one good luck scoring the controller though, that shit is going to get botted for the rest of time and smashfags are going to wear them down by the millions
he can't afford $10
I'm praying that Nintendo's gatekept preorder system will let me preorder a Gamecube controller with my Switch 2. It seems like it will be bot free because it required having a year long history of continuous NSO subscription and 50 hours of game time logged on the account by April 2nd.
$450 console, $10 tutorial game
) :<
$460 console with free tutorial game
( :
Your faces are upside down.
We're heading into a nasty recession and you faggots care about 10 dollars? nintendo needs them more than you do. We gotta step it up and spend MORE for LESS if we want nintendo to survive
we want nintendo to survive
Kek
$460 console with free tutorial game
( :
yes, that is what everyone would prefer.
I can't make the angry face without making it a greentext, or can I?
you WILL pay $700 for a Switch 2 with $150 games and you WILL like it
saying the exact opposite of what you previously said is not defending your argument
Oof.... Wii U 2.0 confirmed
Japan wanted to put in wiiplay for the American bundle instead
It's almost comedic how Nintendo inadvertently timed the Switch 2's reveal precisely as all of this shit started going down. If it doesn't get resolved soon there is a very real chance that the Switch 2 is going to struggle. Nintendo needs the price to be what it is for their bottom line, but as the economy gets worse, less and less people are going to be willing to spend $500 for a new bing bing wahoo machine
what i meant was since it only cost $10 you shouldn't expect it to be that amazing. hence why it should've just been included with the console.
Okay, but the words you used actually mean "It's only $10, what's the big deal? Just buy it."
Can this fucking retard not read beyond one sentence? It literally says "it's the nontariff cheating that matters". Is this why leftoids are so fucking dumb? Just plain illiterate?
Manuals usually come for free
okay, but that's not what i meant you stupid retard.
10 dollars for a fucking manual. I could get 2-4 good games on Steam for that price.
Genuinely what do they mean by "nontariff cheating"?
Then choose your words better next time or type out full sentences that leave the final meaning up to interpretation.
*full sentences that DON'T leave the final meaning up to interpretation
The retards waited way too long and now they've fucked themselves
screw you jackass. i'll type out my sentences however I please, stupid fucking nigger.
this, they should've released it 2 years ago
For $10, they might as well just make it free and include it preinstalled. Physical shops aren't going to want to carry it because there's no profit there, and it's not like Nintendo will make any money on it either.
ITT: illiterate retards
it required having a year long history of continuous NSO subscription and 50 hours of game time logged on
That's only for the console itself, NSO retro controllers only require an active sub on your account, and just like the SNES/N64 controllers it is extremely trivial buying the family plan for free and then flipping 8 whole fucking controllers on ebay.
Kicking the can down the road
These people are idiots
1-2 switch wasnt a pack in.
What a great journalist! The rest of thr article will surely also be great
If you buy your Switch 2 direct from Nintendo they claim they'll allow orders for accessories during your purchase, but we'll only know if the GameCube controller pre-order is included in that when orders go live.
The worst part is that Nintendo already took measures to avoid getting hit by tariffs by moving their Chinese plants to Vietnam, only for the White House to announce Vietnam was getting tariffed anyways like a few hours after the Direct happened because guess what? Everybody else was also moving their shit to Vietnam too.
Reading comprehension, my dear sub 100 iq esl
the never said it was a pack-in
It surprises me they don't pack in one game every time. Like imagine if they would have packed in Arms or something like that. It could have actually been a huge success and spawned a meaningful sequel/franchise. But instead it's a dead one off
Dude $30 is like less than a cup of coffee!

Not the Nintendo kind
I think Nintendo will probably ultimately eat the loss on the tariffs, but probably won't bring it below the base price of $450. Eating the tariffs means that they're probably gonna take a loss on each console sold already, and I can't imagine they'll lower the price any further. But even if they do take the losses, they're probably gonna delay it and make it abundantly clear that they're extremely reluctant to do it and they won't do it again so it doesn't set any sort of precedent. Kinda like with the 3DS. They made it obnoxiously clear that they absolutely hated selling the 3DS at a loss.
With $80 games, this might be another Wii U.
With how pissed people already are about the game prices, I don't see a world in which Nintendo's calculus shows this thing succeeding if they pump the console price up any. They apparently already have a sizeable stock stateside ahead of the launch, so I think you're right they'll keep the price as is and hope negotiations bring the tariffs down before they have to restock.
Why does it look like a CAD file of Switch 2? No art direction?
Astrobot looks like shit for putting a psvr face on everything but it does try to stylize the hardware.
Any potential tariffs that are enacted probably won't last long
It should be $0.
Fortnite, have fun.
You're getting a guided-tour of the hardware itself and not a super stylized play-hub dealie visually based on it, they tell you dumb minutiae about the joycons like the SL/SR buttons being steel on this one and not plastic like on Switch 1's joycons, so they work as magnetic attachment points for the main console.
It shouldn't have been made at all.
At $50, 1-2 Switch was a rip-off as well.
I cant believe Nintendo is cucking out of a Wii Sports beginner title, Its like one of the most played games on the wii.
Nintendo is behaving pretty uncharacteristically for the Switch 2 in general, with the sheer focus on voice/video chat features alongside no bundle title for free or "free", controllers adding paddles (including the joycons with the slide-in grip, somehow), and the sheer power of the system, they seem to smell blood in the water with Xbox and they're horning in to become your actual main game console and not a supplementary handheld with lots of exclusives. Switch 1 was treated like a handheld with console development times, Switch 2 is being treated like a console.
nintendo made a retail demo app and asked for 10$
Well that's not going to happen when it's struggling to deal with yesteryear's titles like Hogwarts and Cyberpunk UNLESS entire video game technological progress just stops next year which is... honestly, not that unbelievable anymore.
The pack-in bundle came like 8 months after launch, it didn't launch with free games. Some console have done that, but Microsoft didn't.
Basically talking manufacturing away from America. The issue seems to be that, even without tariffs, Vietnam doesn't buy enough things from America to make up for the amount they sell to us due to them snatching so much manufacturing.
Back in my day we could get 10 McChickens for that price. Value your money, zoomie
Sony made DLC for their own tech-demo and charges $60 for it, who cares.
Tech progress already stopped with the PS4 generation, it's why PS5 and Series X's improvements over their immediate predecessors are so marginal. It's also why the Switch 2 being a portable at that general tech-grade of "PS4, PS4 Pro" is such a big deal. For all of that, Hogwarts and Cyberpunk ran like crap on yesteryear's consoles too.
It costs -50$ though albeit.
100% this, console should have launched a year ago they delayed it and now theyre fucked.
Digital edition
(you)
I thought Astro Bot was actually a full game.
look closely retard
You are not owed a free game.
it is but it's pretty much a full-sized version of the playroom demo
I mean you can still dick around with the mii maker
and get an NSO free trial and the games that grants you
If the tour had something like 30 or 40 of these little demos, it might? be worth it.
youtu.be
But there's a lot of "hey, the middle part of the Switch 2 Joycon (L) is made of plastic!" too, which is so boring.
I suspected for like a year now that Nintendo trying to max the absolute fuck out of the Switch 1 economy and delaying the Switch 2 to help accomplish it would bite them in the ass in SOME big way, but I couldn't dare to dream that it'd be in the form of their biggest market being potentially jeopardized.
So is the Switch 2 going to have anything to dick around with out of the box?
Anything on the eShop that's F2P?
scary how more masculine things used to look
what the fuck happened
Reminder that Reggie had to basically beg Nintendo to bundle Wii Spirts with the console.
N64, GBC, GBA and Gamecube didn't have any pack in titles at launch
Iwata became President of Nintendo in 2002
The DS came with a free demo of Metroid Prime Hunters at launch
The Wii came with Wii Sports
The 3DS had a bunch of random shit pre-installed on it
The Wii U came with Nintendo Land
Iwata died in 2015
Switch and Switch 2 get their tech demos sold separately
Hope there's a physical reason. This will probably be worth $200 in a few years.
you forgot your smug anime image
Nintendo isn't owed my money.
nintendoland only came with the more expensive deluxe version so you were basically paying for it
then the Wii U started tanking and eventually just got rid of basic version and bundling and bunch of games into the deluxe to try as hard as possible to get people to buy it
You paid for Wii Sports and you paid for Nintendo Land you dumbass.
only
Anon, why would you want to buy a shitty tutorial for a console, ever?
If it was like astrobot, maybe, but this?
This will probably be worth $200 in a few years.
nah
president gets on stage and says that everyone else is tariffing america and that he's going to respond
people think that his tariffs are in response to other tariffs because that's what the president said
"no you IDIOT read the fine print ACTUALLY it's not about tariff at all"
women
Anyone defending this shit legitimately deserves a bullet in the head. You are of no value to anyone and your presence anywhere will only hamper societal progress.
PC retards seething
nintendo needs them more than you do.
No they don't, they have 80bn.
We gotta step it up and spend MORE for LESS
No.
>if we want nintendo to survive
Modern nintendo doesn't deserve to survive.
But anon... it's ONLY 10 bucks... stop being poor
You couldn't buy Wii Sports separately, it was only sold as a pack-in until they made a Nintendo Selects reprint of it a decade later.
Maybe you should play some video games to calm down. If you had any...
And for that you got a more expensive Wii. It was a mandatory purchase, not a free pack-in.
Absolute cope and denial of reality.
Everything will became worse and worse and not even antichrist will save you from enshittification.
But you can always feel free cope even harder.
you are a subhuman retard
this garbage should be free like it was for sony
entitled
Anybody who uses this word is either narcissistic faggot or faggot with low self esteem and nonexistent dignity.
They think buying something from someone puts you at "trade deficit against them" and means you got cheated unless you also sell them something else for same value or more (something they can't do with countries whose economy runs on export), completely ignoring the goods and services they seeked, and gained from the purchase.
