A franchise deserves more smash reps when the franchise is big enough, and when it has characters that are important enough to make it to smash. There are like 3 important zelda characters, and every other character is a faceless, replaceable, forgettable 3d model that only exists to spout dialogue.

Hyrule Warriors pretty much exhausted its own premise as a crossover of all Zelda games and I don't think they could actually do anything with the concept beyond make the same game again with what they've learned from Age of Calamity and Age of Imprisonment, pace the plot better, things like that
I also don't think Zelda actually "needs" any more Smash Bros. reps with the trifecta of Link, Zelda and Ganondorf represented with variations on Link (mostly for legacy purposes, in Young Link's case in Ultimate he's so fucking tall he's supposed to be the Link choice for people who don't like his moveset being BOTW-ized) and the only rep I could even really think of would be Volga as a Tecmo-Koei representative, and on top of THAT I think Lu Bu or Ryu Hayabusa would be more appropriate as a Tecmo-Koei representative
If anything if I were given the reins to Zelda in Smash I would just delete Sheik because she's a vestige of when Ocarina of Time was the Zelda rep for all characters, aka when Melee was new
I would argue Smash since more people play it than your usual mosou slop, it feels over saturated now that they’re doing yet another based on TOTK.
I prefer it being based on actual games instead of fanservice romhack slop with 6 imprisoned walking around and a embarrassing shit story about some buttslut lusting for link's cock. Age of Calamity was a real video game, but unfortunately, AOI being based on the actual tears timeline and not the AOC one makes it shit by default.

Impa is the only extra smash rep that is justified. I'm tired of pepole begging for smash reps of side characters that appeared in one game 15 years ago. Nintendo forgot about them for a reason, nintendo doens't want that character to be remembered.
Give me Hyrule Warriors 2 but it's literally the same game with updated systems and new ideas like Dynasty Warriors and also replace the actress voicing over pre-battle information in story mode with whoever the guy was that voiced over pre-battle information and battle plans in early Dynasty Warriors and Warriors Orochi games youtu.be

Warriors and Zelda doesn't even make sense to me. There are so many series that aren't action-based where you have rosters of characters that would be fun in an action game. Say, Final Fantasy. You have a ton to pull from. Zelda? Do we really get to see many notable characters with real fighting prowess other than Link? I've never played a Zelda game and thought it would be cool to play as anyone other than Link. None of the races are that particularly cool and/or had characters that genuinely stuck out in a positive way, or any way at all really.
Give me Link's huge fucking Ocarina of Time shield back, all of Link's later shields shrank compared to OoT while in-game and in a lot of art the Hylian Shield covers most of his body while it's stowed away

Nintendo did and Hyrule Warriors turns out to be the best Mosou game of all because they forced Omega Force to actually put in even a little effort and make a good game.

I think it is. The PS2 games don't really hold up. DW8 is held back by the element system making it too easy.
We should have gotten a Final Fantasy Tactics musou. It and Fre Emblem were the easiest choices because the battles template were already there.

I wish. I liked Dissidia, but I like Mosou even more. And while I didn't really like the latest DW because you only play as one person, it shows that they are serious about improving the gameplay.
I prefer hyrule warriors to smash and i wouldn't want to clog smash bros with zelda characters so easy choice.

I miss the level progression system in DW4. You could skip levels and have that choice affecting your next battle. (like a not dead general appearing in a later battle)

Hyrule warriors was so good BECAUSE of how many characters there are in Zelda that you don't get to see do anything.
BoTW alone is a great example because the champions are mostly worthless there but you get to actually use them in HW

Aiming for the characters is probably your first goal.
The maps are really what makes Hyrule Warriors so great. Insane amount of challenges and unlockables. Compare the crazy amount of content there with half assed shovelware like Samurai Warriors 5.
so what went wrong with Fire Emblem Warriors?
Grab the characters and whatever weapons you can to help them hit harder. Hunting skullatulas is good too as it'll give you a chance to get some levels and cash while you unlock them.
