Why do combofags hate it so much? It was fun

Whenever it tries to do more than be anything other than a dumb action setpiece show, it falls flat. Any attempt to intellectually or emotionally stimulate the audience beyond "hype moments and aura" is a shallow, vapid, trope-filled attempt that would bounce off anyone with an IQ over 2 digits.

I guess it's a faithful adaptation in that sense.

I saw the trailers and it was immediately apparent that no one working on it had any experience or reverence for the series. Clearly they didn't understand what it was or why anyone liked it.
Instead Adi just went "well DMC is, like, 2000's or some shit right? I'll just throw in everything I liked in the 2000's and some random aesthetics from googling 'devil may cry' in image search."

Hiring JYB to play Dante when he already plays Nero is insane. Setting the show to fucking emo and numetal when the games are INDUSTRIAL metal is insane. Dumping every single DMC boss randomly into the show is insane. Turning Lady into some kind of government enforcer is insane. Making demons en masse into dindu refugees is insane.

Honestly it feels like Tameem's wild ride all over again.

I had low expectations but ended up enjoying it. The only part I straight up did not like was Lady's incredibly forced overly sweary dialogue, which feels like a weird screw up because Lady is already kind of a "girl boss" in DMC3 so this change wasn't even needed. Will definitely watch Season 2 if it gets made

It got really retarded at the end and they kinda blew it by killing off White Rabbit. He was the one good consistently good thing until the end when he became a tyrant from resident evil. But the overall issue was the ending and the same shit the Castlevania series suffered from, that being the writer benching the literal main character of the video game the show he's writing in favor of giving more focus and plot relevance to the side character.

I agree. I dont usually like political undertones in my series but it was subtle enough to tolerate. In this case it actually works to deliver a compelling storyline. Im glad it didnt go overboard though.

it was subtle

you're not trying hard enough

It will go overboard when they treat the US occupation of hell as an allegory to zionism and Palestine, because that's what they are so painfully obviously aiming for.

The show has a lot of legitimate issues but mostly it comes down to the fact that people get really attached to hyper-specific elements of anything they are fans of and get upset when those things are changed. Lady takes it too far to the point where she really is a completely different character but the complaints about Dante not being strong enough, being too goofy, etc. are just Chris Chan "sonics arms aren't blue!!!" complaints.

Honestly it feels like Tameem's wild ride all over again.

Nah because if Adi did one thing right is that he didn't come out shitting on old DMC and was very clear about his DMC being his "bootleg" universe. It's essentially Ultimate Devil May Cry which is at least a kind of interesting idea (it will inevitably also go up in flames like Ultimate as well)

adi didn't intentionally shit on DMC, he just didn't care about it at all

That's worse

muslim demons

hell guantanamo

licensed music overstaying it's welcome with forced millenial pandering

90% of the characters literal whos

pretentious symbolic alice in wonderland amv episode

shit cgi in action scenes

FUCK SHIT FUCK MOTHERFUCKER BITCH ASSHOLE FUCK FUCK FUCKITY FUCK

Chugged it all because sick and had nothing to watch that day but damn if it was bad.

Because all the political messaging that comes with it is clunky. The release version of DmC also had partially broken combat mechanics which was the cherry on top. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if Capcom just licensed out the combat system or something. Gimme a boondocks game with DMC combat so I can at least have a good time while being preached to.

Not really it's more like too sides of the same coin, buy now everyone has picked up on the pattern of him being hired to write video game shows by Japanese companies for the broader western audience and then him scamming them to turn that product into needless political messages and statements wearing the skin of iconic video game franchises.

humans are the original natives to hell who were forced out by invading demons who now live there and were legally given hell which the demons never actually ever ruled as its own place because they were always part of some larger foreign entity?

Adi is an enormous faggot and even if the show was somehow good I still wouldn't watch it because he's that big of a faggot

The beginning of Castlevania wasn't that
It didn't become that until he pissed off and fired Warren Ellis

Lady is an IDF soldier with a backstory that doesn't make sense for her occupation or stated motivations and Dante's quippy attitude is completely lost when ALL characters are like that

Warren Ellis is the person responsible for the Alucard buttfucking

Warren Ellis portraying Alucard as desperate enough for companionship he'll let somebody in his ass is a better character read of Castlevania than whatever the fuck is going on with Lady in DMC

It's pretty painfully the War on Terror, not Palestine. Don't expect it to be Palestine either, Shankar is a dick-rider for the current US administration and the current Indian administration. Man likes him some ethnic cleansing. Also this show has been in production hell for long enough that Kevin Conroy features.

No they'll just beat you over the head about the slaughtering and displacement in general

DMC IS ABOUT BUSH ERA WARS AND BUTTROCK!

DEMONS ARE PEOPLE TOO!!

Fuck right off shiteater.

NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T BOMB THE HECKIN' GOATS! NO!!!! THEY'RE PEOPLE TOO! GOAT PEOPLE! WITH TURBANS AND BEARDS! SOMEBODY STOP THEM!

GoatDemon.png - 1787x1355, 2.07M

butt rock would've been ok
it's not exactly right but some shitty buck cherry would fit way better than goddamned evanescence

Sparda is actually evil because he trapped millions of "Makai" [Demons, from Hell] in Hell and prevented them from coming to the human world.

That's literally the same shit overall.

hahaha holy shit
are they literally bombing refugees with American Idiot blaring
There's not being subtle and then there's taking the concept of subtlety and shooting it into the fucking sun

fuck fucking shitfuck shit bitch tits fuck shit crap bitch shit fuck damn fucking shit damn fuck fuck damn shit bitch shit bitch fuck

I AM THE STREET THAT'S MADE FOR SHIIIIII—TING

Sure if you stop comprehending given information at the word "war."

I thought JYB did a great job in this, I thought his voice would bother me but I got used to it really fast. I almost like him more as Dante than Reuben and it makes me wonder what would have happened if he got the job after he auditoned for 3.

Sparda and even Mundus makes literally no sense with the "demons are just like... you and me!" angle the show takes.

was very clear about his DMC being his "bootleg" universe.

Wrong. It's so much worse than that.

intellectually or emotionally stimulate the audience

go back faggot

Genuinely, why do YA writers find it impossible to think of a single compelling story to be told except “good guys were secretly bad guys, bad guys were secretly good guys.” DMC was not the fucking story to try and imply #notalldemons, it cheapens the central message of the narrative. Not to mention literally compares Muslims to demons, which seems like a retarded oversight from an optics perspective.

Also lady is stuck in the early 2000s girlboss zone where she feels the need to constantly prove her competence by being an unlikable dickhead to everyone instead of just, you know, acting competently.

I just don't get it

why the Fuck did they feel the need to completely reinvent Lady. She was like the perfect female protag, cool as fuck, relatable, memorable design, looks sexy without what even the sour as fuck people would call "muh objectification". Or was her dmc3 look already too sexy for the western media? How the fuck can you throw out such a 10/10 character and reinvent it as some random shitty as cop/soldier

5jdjcv578k1a.jpg - 720x405, 46.88K

Do they never see the irony in drawing comparisons between these poor, downtrodden, ignorant (yet still completely valid and acceptable) groups and literal monsters and demons?

Adi claims to have read the unreleased DMC Manga volume and says it's all based on that lol

they had to reinvent lady because Adi has a fetish for IDF soldiers or some shit
nothing gets Shankar hard like a tomboy blowing up an ambulance full of children

I actually thought the first 4-ish episodes were alright. The latter half drops the ball and becomes a confused mess. Lady becomes the main-character and the whole refugee demon angle is contradictory with Sparda's betrayal. They need to pick a lane.

Itsunofags pearl clutching about how "their" franchise was "highjacked"

Pot meet kettle

It doesn't stay true to what DMC is at its core and it butchers Lady and partly mangles Dante
Casual fans will probably love it though

Yeah this isn't the first time he's completely rewritten a character into an IDF soldier and it's getting more than a little suspicious he's done it more than once

How the fuck can you throw out such a 10/10 character and reinvent it as some random shitty as cop/soldier

This was probably at the very least an intentional reference but almost guaranteed not to be Adi's idea, but the cop design gets a rightful pass because Darkcom's uniform is based off of Captain Commando. Her game outfit was in a flash back too so they have it for when she parts with Darkcom

and was very clear about his DMC being his "bootleg" universe.

It was literally the EXACT opposite.

He said Bungie's ONI is one of his favorite games

too much swearing, too much shitting on Dante for no reason, too much Lady being Americanized for no reason, too much bullshit that isnt Dante
but hearing Green day start playing to Americans blowing up Arab demons was really funny

So this is basically undertale?

didn't watch the show and I don't think I will

can someone give me a quick rundown on why the americans bombed the demons?

What's crazy too is literally every other licensed song was actually fitting except for that and cut my life into pieces. Even crazier, all the vocal and iconic tracks DMC has in the franchise, literally next to none of it was used.

Not gonna happen unless its blatently pro israel genociding them or unless the solution is sending the demons to europe
Netflix is owned by a jewish man afterall

There IDF was in ONI?

HELLO SAAAAAAR

can someone give me a quick rundown on why the americans bombed the demons?

Literally evangelical zionism, I wish i was making that up. Supposedly the Vice president in the show is a plant from the order from 4, the one Nero was from, but until that's proven definitively, it's zionism

This guy is so far up his own ass.

It's shit
It doesn't get shat on as much as it should because already happened it's like feeling concrete on a man hole

It's because of DmC and also thanks to the Castlevania series, mainly Nocturne. Compared to that the Devil may cry show has far more in common to the game counterpart.

DMC5 and DMCHD trending on Steam

So is this show a success? I only care as far as getting new DMC games

I don't believe he actually read any of the manga or novels.

Ganbette, Street fighter fags you're next

It made people look into DMC which means a whole bunch of people are gonna see how full of shit the show is if it's their first point of contact.

What did he mean by this?

DMC feels like neither one.

You mean square enix. He's doing one franchise per company, it's the Final fantasy fags turn to suffer.

Final Fantasy doesn't have enough of a distinct brand to make a show out of, unless he's literally just doing FFVII

Yeah but Itsuno made it good.
This poojeet just made things worse.

It'll have the opposite outcome. People will wonder why the games are so different and not enjoy them.

it's not even that. there have always been good demons even in the games and anime, the huge thing is that demon and human in DMC is more philosophical than biological, which is why guys like Arkham, and Vergil in a literal sense, can throw away their humanity to attain power, making them more like demons.
When you do the 'good demon bad demon' as a biological thing, you get shit like this where Dante is supposed to be a good guy for killing demons but also demons are supposed to be innocent creatures no different from regular humans

They'll wonder why Dante isn't quipping like a marvel character.

Apologize.

i don't watch netslop

He actually quipped more in the games than he did in the show.

This isn't even the actual final design they used in the game, he went from emo junkie to frat boy

Dante being weak against demon fodder

It wouldn't be a problem if Dante being weak wasn't being used to prop up Lady.

Nah but even then at least its not you're mama jokes or how super duper cool he is.

Why do combofags hate it so much?

It's not even combofags hating this show, it's fucking lorefags and power level fags, the lowest dregs of any action game fandom

this 'creative banner' shit is just him scrounging for legitimacy by talking about his ideas as if they're pieces in some grand design he's masterminding. it's a waste of time to pigeonhole yourself this way unless you're a wannabe hack who HAS to have as many 'creative' labels as you can. stupid pajeet cocksucker making the same show over and over again. he is just as lame as a certain other brown retard with a bunglefucked take on DMC. they're doing the exact same thing; putting it in a chop-shop so they can use the parts to make the thing they want to make, because they have immense egos and mistook the sincerity of DMCs tone for a missed opportunity to inject ironic meta deadpool humor. it could not be any simpler to get DMC right. it's a fucking toku show set in a gothic/industrial punk setting. dante isnt a retard, he's an edgier version of Ken Hayakawa. please find another beach to shit on mr shankar

Dante quips since DMC1

hi everyone i want to molest vergil

mundus please stop posting

women don't deserve to be molested

This is the fag responsible for Captain Laserhawk? Yeah that tracks.

he actually thinks he used a different, more serious take for this slop

uh... lol?

quips become a problem the second the writer makes it obvious to everyone, including the characters, that they're quipping. dante is supposed to be cool and it isn't the least bit cool for a character to constantly be nudging and winking at the audience for their acknowledgment. when a character says something to the effect of 'prepare to get burned by my sick quip! you fuckin.. dork! i fucked your mom!', it's not cringy because of the character, it's cringy because you cannot disguise bad writing with worse writing.

I actually really liked a lot of the action set pieces in this, the mercs raid on Dante's home and his first encounter with Lady was probably the best. The airplane scene was awesome even though its literally a giant rip off from Iron Man 3, but at least they aknowledged it kek.

Have you seen a picture of him? he is exactly why Lazerhawk looks like that. He he was self inserting.

I only watched 1 episode and all the combined Rayman clips. I honestly don't remember what the protag looked like because I was completely checked out of the main "plot." But I believe you.

20 years without molesting vergil... think about what does to a devil.

Not a fan of the licensed music choices, character/demon designs, and some alterations the show made compared to the rest of the series
Boondocks-Nigga Moments: special edition featuring Uncle Ruckus from the Boondocks series

I went in with zero expectations, and I'm still stunlocked at how awful this was. I also didn't bother watching Netflixvania and only knew of the unnecessary cursing and Alucard buttrape, so I fully expect to see a full, unedited scene of Vergil getting pozzed by Mundus aids in season 2 kek

My hair grew into that after I got a recent hair cut. FML.

dante is supposed to be cool

No Dante is suppose to be cringe, so cringe it comes off as cool, but people have real hard time getting that, even the people who've been playing the games since one

download (2).jpg - 188x150, 3.04K

as someone who never played DMC, read the books/manga, or watched the Anime that aired around the same year I lost my virginity the show was not written very well. The show failed to convince me that Dante is some kind of badass. Mary seemed way more capable than anyone else in the show.

The problem with the quips in this show is they're literally pop culture references and your mom jokes.
There's nothing fun like

Flock off featherface

Or stuff like when he's meeting Cavaliere and instantly knows it's Trish inside there so he starts talking about Halloween costumes, taste and the size being too big for Trish so he has to "take it in a little" (by having a boss fight with Cavaliere and literally cutting him to pieces) and it all comes very naturally.
In the show it's buffoonish and he's trying too hard.
You could say "well it's because he's young before DMC3 ages!"
But his quips and exchanges were fitting each moment as they came in that game as well.

It could've been great if it stopped trying to be smart, but it tried to several times and it was stupid. Hell wants to invade Earth. There's a psycho human that wants revenge on humans for some reason or another and helps Hell accomplish that goal. There are two MacGuffins, one of which is with Dante. That's all you need. That's a good story outline. But so much fucking time is wasted explaining quantum mechanics, demon ancestry and more eyerolling worldbuilding instead of just letting the audience think that it's all magic and focusing on action.

What angers me more is how if they really wanted their sorry ass excuse of a political message, they could've easily done it in a tasteful way.
The series already had the power corrupts and those who seek power are destined to lose love. And who seeks power in real life? Businesses (DMC2), Parents (DMC3), Church (DMC4), and so on. You can easily show that since the OG series somewhat had an idea for the concept. But instead we get an allegory that has little to no relation to why anyone does anything. Why does Lady hate demons? Because they took her loved ones of course, but wait. It was her human dad seeking power that did that, not demons. And it was "accident" so there's no accountability to be given to grown ass adult. Why does the government want to dominate hell? Because the vice president is a fucking religious lunatic and does whatever cause of a vague ass "god wills it" mentality. All the while they show us some dumb mining for minerals scene in the end to show how it's for resources that they invaded a place. A tacked on idea because it happens in real life while not even understanding what is the message here.
God, and the worst part? They don't even know if the public knows about demons. They act like it's a secret but then there are literally devil hunters and Enzo who supplies people with devil hunting jobs. Only for it to be a secret still? How shit can this world building be

The people behind it doesn't matter when making slop.

S1 was not shit because Iga forced Ellis to rewrite 8 times. S2 was absolutely dogshit.

He said that it isn't part of his "bootleg universe".

cvgames copy.jpg - 1024x695, 173.42K

I won't say 'so cringe it comes off as cool' outright didn't exist back when the original games came out, but it was definitely not a popular approach and absolutely not the one they took with DMC. Devil May Cry began as survival horror with a protagonist who would have fit into the tokusatsu costumed hero shows that were/are popular in Japan. Toku isn't considered 'so cringe its cool', it's just considered cool... just not in America. That's what people have a hard time getting.

No I'm talking about his personality and attitude overall, not what he is and his style of fighting

no, you can cut out the cringe part. he's supposed to be just outright cool
the only semi-cringe scene he's involved in is the dmc 5 dance but even that is cool

There's nothing fun like

Flock off featherface

I barely remember the science nigga telling the rabbit to "hop out of this" after throwing a grenade at him, but yes there arent many moments like that

Facts, the whole show's dialogue is lacking and is just not creative at all.

I actually didn't mind the whole demon refugee angle, I actually found it kind of interesting, my problem is just that the show goes super fucking dark with the whole ethnic cleansing shit. It feels like a heelturn and it just didn't earn that kind of darkness, and you could argue that's the point if it was for shock effect but imo it just feels tonedeaf, this is DMC we're talking about

i read that Dante becomes a jobber next to Lady
never watching that garbo, ever

no, you can cut out the cringe part

No I literally can't. The core of Dante is that he was present to players as the the epitome of "OC Donut Steele", hell he set the fucking trend, literally patient zero of the meme. But to re-iterate, that aspect goes over so many peoples heads, they end up completely missing the point of Dante, even the people who've been playing the games since 1, and if they missed it, you know for a fact some as egotistical as Adi damn sure missed it.

He doesn't really become a jobber and Lady isn't exactly more powerful than him, she just has insane levels of plot armor where everything magically works out in her favor

you're fag, that's all
still not watching the show

I unironically feel like any group of random DMCfags ITT could be locked in a room with a bottomless checkbook and some drugs, and still come up with something better than the Pooflix series, even if they had to keep the constraints of things like a non-canon original story or the usage of licensed music. Low bar, but still.

And the plot was forced into being about her. Again it's the same issue with Nocturne, Richter has next to no relevance and is just their as a token belmont.

It's just forced. They're not being creative on what demons are supposed to be. and it's once again a very America centered plot with it all. Remember how fortuna is inspired by Italy? How Redgrave is inspired by London? How mallet Island is some creepy, abandoned, European looking, castle. Forget all that and just set it in New York and not even have anything interesting from the demon world. Oh, what about other countries perspective on demons? Not important, cause america is the only country on earth. Would Russia and China really be ok with america going through another dimension to get super powerful minerals before them? Nah, just don't think about it.

It helps that DMCfags actually like the series and wouldn't jump off the rails in favor of some shitty, out of date political commentary. But that's all anyone entrenched in the entertainment industry does.

orphan kid can make transdimensional portals just because he reads Alice in Wonderland

Damn. I didn't know it was that easy.

Tbf, DMC3 happens in a normal American city

Lady being so supernaturally competent was dumb but I actually liked how Dante got his ass kicked a ton in this show. I think "Dante needs to be superduper strong and nobody can defeat him!" is incredibly fucking boring and a big part of why DMC3 story is good is because Dante actually feels like he struggles a lot which adds stakes

Much had been talked about the death of sincerity, but this is embarrassing to read.
This reads exactly like a 14 year old just saw a couple of Tarantino films and wrote a "script" based off this new DMC3 game he just played.

Just a straight episodic retelling of DMC3-1-2-4-5 would be fine

An actually good and interesting take would be an anthology of smaller missions and side stories where Dante features but isn't the focus, kind of like a Dr Who setup but with kicking the shit out of demons instead of talk-no-jutsu against aliens.

You know what would have been easier? Just keeping him as a fucking demon Rabbit because the moment he lost the mask it became another "outsider fighting for his people" bit, it got lame.

What
Dante only really struggles against Vergil, every other fight is completely in Dante's favor.

True but it's contrasted with the tower at least. Which we spent most of the game in and around. There's nothing like that in the show, not even hell has anything like that. It's so barren and empty.

He means in the show.

not!mossad agent being competent is dumb
and I dont remember Dante EVER struggling in DMC3 his first fight against Vergil being the exception

I mean I found it fun but fun in the way watching the room is fun. I spent most of it laughing my ass off because it felt like something made 20 years ago with the music choices and political commentary.

Dante only really struggles against Vergil, every other fight is completely in Dante's favor.

I don't mean just in terms of fighting, in DMC3 Dante suffers a lot of setbacks, there's practically a recurring gag that when Dante tries to act cool something bad happens to him.

Sadly, writers are too narcissistic to follow a story already laid out for them.

It also would have been easier to just NOT explain anything about DNA, quantum mechanics, anti-demon powers, and other bullshit, but the jeet thinks he's a master storyteller.

It's supposed to be set around the late 90s and early 2000s. Even though nothing about it feels like so, apart from the dated writing and music.

Yeah it just feels really funny to me, like name dropping Saddam like anyone watching under the age of 25 is going to even know who that is. Like it legit feels like the creators are still seething about Bush almost 20 years after he was gone.

I thought a lot of the demons felt very out of place. Are they from DMC2 or the manga or some other obscure DMC lore? I don't remember shark demons.

all the demons besides the bosses (and plasma LMAO) were OCs, although i did like rabbit mans design

Rabbit isn't an OC actually he's from the Manga though they changed his entire character.

Because it is lame and gay. See
I say this as someone who actually likes Castlevania games AND the Netflix adaptation.

ganonjak.png - 1019x1061, 205.08K

it's so obvious when you fags make an astroturf thread

good thing bad

bad thing good

GOOD MORNING SAAAAR

shark demons

There are shark demons that you use as swords in DMC4. I don't know who you are referring to in the Netflix show though. Was there a shark demon?

I mean, there are the games, a few prequel manga, and a few prequel novels. Just adapt those with some minor changes and boom you have a tv show. No need to shove in some random government agency bs into it.

IMG_6317.jpg - 2048x1410, 352.11K

yeah. In the manga the rabbit is Lady's father. much better plot twist since Lady doesn't even recognize The White Rabbit as her friend, but rather some guy that was smuggling demons from Hell.

Fun

Sorry buddy, I didnt see a single danse macabre or air hike. Thats not fucking fun.
youtube.com/watch?v=hLoTKub93QU

the OG manga? i remember reading it ages ago and finding out it was unfinished

No it's because the Bush era was the era America was the most hated by everyone and still gets criticized for today. It's intend is to get the average non political person to get politically charged and angry at anything the US is doing in this day in age. "Hey remember the Bush days? Well that is starting to happen again, Right now! Fuck America"

There are shark demons in the Netflix show that look like the guys from Street Sharks. Now I remember the Shark demons from DMC4, but they look nothing like the ones in the show.

There is also just doing what the 07 series did, there's a lot of timeline gaps where you can just have Dante going on his various demon killing adventures they imply he had between games. DMC is actually perfect for a monster of the week with minor overarching plot elements.

wanting Netflix bullshit in the actual canon

You should be thankful it's its own continuity

You are so full of shit.

Yeah that's one of those things where I feel like it will only really reach anyone over the age of 25, no one younger is gonna have those feelings crop up. It's like showing zoomers Team America and expecting them to understand the cultural mindset the film was made in.

Not to mention literally compares Muslims to demons, which seems like a retarded oversight from an optics perspective.

That fact that both right wing racists and lefty SJWs independently came to the exact same conclusions about black people being orcs and Islam being demonic never stops being funny. Can't wait for the Netflix / Amazon show with a benevolent misunderstood lizard race that's an allegory for the Jews.

The core of Dante is that he was present to players as the the epitome of "OC Donut Steele", hell he set the fucking trend, literally patient zero of the meme.

You are 10000% wrong. Look at the picture; that is the guy who created Dante. Kamiya was not irony poisoned going 'ha ha let's make him really over the top and edgy, that'd be so fuckin' stupid that it'll be great!' when he designed the character. The fact that other people came along and made actually bad, edgy, cringy characters after the game came out doesn't retroactively make Dante that kind of character. In the west he might have set something of a trend, but there were many characters like him over in Japan and none of them were made over the top as 'the point', it was literally just because that's what they thought was cool. That's the enormous, glaring thing you keep missing. You're conflating a meme with the intentions of the people who made these games, who have given interviews before and said outright 'We wanted him to be cool and stylish.' Not a single fucking person who worked on Devil May Cry has ever said 'Yeah the fans are great but they keep misunderstanding.. you see, you're actually supposed to feel embarrassment for Dante BEFORE you find him cool, like American Deadpool!'
You don't understand what they were going for and that's fine, but holy shit it's all right there if you look.

kamiya.png - 530x595, 386.24K

With how much relevance is given to Lady and the rest of the humans, i wonder if an anthology following the scrapped "demon hunting community" idea from 5 would've been better recieved?

Fully human hunters with cool designs and interesting weapons trying to fight demons after the events of 3/5, with Dante as the great paragon to the main cast much like Sparda is to everyone in the games.

Lady doesn't even recognize The White Rabbit as her friend, but rather some guy that was smuggling demons from Hell.

wait so that part of his character was kept intact and the guy worked from there?

!? .png - 444x373, 156.34K

Dante has no idea that he part demon despite his mom telling him that he is half-demon in the games

did anyone involved with the writing even play the games or even bothered to watched some Vtuber playing DMC?

I've said it once and I'll say it again, most westerners don't understand the idea of being chuuni without irony. Thus won't understand what makes dmc work.

despite his mom telling him that he is half-demon in the games

I tought he just found out on his own?

its a whole new continuity, the twins never even met sparda in the show and their mom never disclosed the fact that she hooked up with a demon

bro referencing DmC

it was subtle

I genuinely can't believe normalfags are so dense the shit in DMC shitflix was "subtle" to them holy kek

Dante and shows made for the netflix retard audience are incompatible.

DMC premiered with 5.3 million views, Castlevania Nocturne with 2.6, total Pajeet victory

I really thought I had to read the manga and books to appreciate the show. I made sure to play the whole series and even DMC2/DmC before watching. I feel so let down. I thought this was show was going to be for hardcore fans....

my older sister and I even cosplayed as Dante and Lady when we watched the first episode.

How would you know? Netflix doesn't disclose numbers

gave arkham more backstory

reduced jester to just a random monster with no personality

jester.png - 645x561, 513.18K

Yeah that's one of those things where I feel like it will only really reach anyone over the age of 25,

There the only demographic that matters because at that age is when they'll be required to be involved about politics for the new coming generation of American voters once the boomers die off,l. The slate wipe is fast approaching and they need to make sure thus next batch is just as dull as the last about what's really going in in politics.

There is nothing I want to do more than make a 07 style show that's just an episodic demon of the week style thing, but with better action while at the same time having a big emphasis on making the demons scary. Have them do some cerebral scp level stuff or something. Showcase Dantes handyman like intelligence alongside his power

gave arkham more backstory

They did? All I saw was him inject himself with demon steroids and die.

LE MUNDUS DID NOTHING WRONG AND SPARDA WAS BAD ACTUALLY

fucking kill yourself

True. But I would like to see Dante fight Gilver. You got any ideas for unique demons for Dante fight or devil arms to gain?

Yeah it's for hardcore fans in that they basically went

ok lets just put in these obscure characters capcom showed us without doing anything with them so the fans will soijak at it

Like holy fuck Lucia's cameo convinced me Capcom does have it in the contract that she remain irrelevant.

it's hinted that he became Jester.

agni and rudra show up

dante doesn't keep their devil arms when they die

Be faithful to the IP where you can or make your own IP. Simple.

What the fuck is his problem?

IMG_0541.jpg - 526x514, 39.19K

Disappointing that none of the bosses have any cool dialogue before fighting Dante/Lady.

In the sense that they gave him a reason for going down the demon rabbit hole, I'm not saying it was good just that it was odd they'd do more with him only to just kill him off with no fanfare(assuming he won't show up later).

Fippest of Bips.

Dante in the games knows what he is, he just never gave a shit though. The Netflix adaptation made him dumber and clueless. He doesn't know why he has a literal sword, he just roles with it. He doesn't think why he has super powers, he just accepts it. Adi thinks Dante is an endearing idiot, when that isn't what he is.

shows up for 30 seconds

best part of the series

How does he do it?

He has gay rules for people to follow when they tweet at him and one is that he doesn't want to answer any repeat questions.
Which is hilarious that he thinks anyone would know what the fuck he has been asked yet or not.

I hate how Vergil shows up as if I'm supposed to care.

sorry you're a fag who needs to kill themselves and formulate their own opinions you newfag cancer

I think the show only mentions Neil Goldstein once and they made her an associate of the feds for some reason.

Speaking of his sword I do find it funny the show seemingly ignored what Rebellion is and how it was a key to Dante unlocking his devil trigger.

If the goal is to want to make a prequel story with an inexperienced Dante I'd have it be mostly episodic with a character arc about Dante causing a ton of damage because he's using demon hunting purely as a means to vent his emotional trauma and he has to develop into channeling it into something less damaging which is how he starts up Devil May Cry.
Episodic structure can be built off of a framework of the damage Dante leaves fighting demons being something he's trying to avoid actually confronting so he rides off on his motorcycle at the end of each episode.
But don't spell it out like this, have it mostly be subtext and on its face have it simply be fun episodes of fighting demons.
Until you reveal the central antagonist's twist be that it's one of his friends as Tony Redgrave who was heavily wounded because Dante was being reckless fighting a demon. The friend has to make a deal with a demon to survive and holds it against Dante, wanting to get back at him.

I pogged all of the 15 times Vergil shows up throughout every game and then I use my pogged mouth to fluff the bull

So how is the order gonna fit into all of it, because they had the logos all over the intro but their existence won't make much since in this timeline.

order.png - 250x446, 106.18K

So since Arkham and the rabbit dude become demons by just injecting themselves with random demons blood does that me become a demon is just demon aids/a blood diseases?

Wanna know the worst part of it all? If this wasn't DMC but rather a random new IP about a portal to hell opening in the middle of a city and the army having to fight back hordes of demons and eventually infiltrate hell, it would have been a fucking success. No politics, no immigrant metaphors, no philosophy, no bullshit, just soldiers vs demons with plenty of action, with the soldiers having to figure out weaknesses of the boss demons from religious texts and myths and having to improvise and so on, it would be a fucking hit.
But no, it had to be inserted into fucking DMC where it's completely out of place AND is being used as socio-political bait.

Jester and Arkham are the same character, just split personalities that mess with Dante/Lady

without all of the bad stuff it would be good

yes

this ratjeet is literally just a leecher
he doesn't make any original IP's, he just takes what already exists and shits all over it with his fanfiction that no one asked for

me become

*mean becoming
Fuck, I need more sleep

Binge watched this show while building a family in Inzoi. what a horrible trainwreck it is.

what licensed music would you have used ?

When will Dante get buttraped?

I unironically think a DMC movie released in the age of Uwe Boll movies and other shitty "videogame adaptations" would be better than this

Too bad they fucked up his Nelo Angelo design. And we know he will be fighting for the demon world, while Dante will be fighting for the humans. When OG Vergil doesn't give a shit about demons and still kills a bunch of them.
Not surprising, Yamato will keep it's dimension slicing powers for sure all the while rebellion gets nothing. So retarded.

A plot somehow worse than DmC

we now have TWO dmc spinoffs made by Indians

What is the least painful way to kill myself?

By being Vergil.

file.png - 1536x2048, 2.81M

Unless he means the third volume which literally doesn't exist because it was never even illustrated (and I doubt the guy is fluent enough in Japanese to find and talk to the writer), I too have read the unreleased volume focussing on Vergil activating the Temen-ni-gru. It's whatever.

yes but funnily enough anti-demon rounds dont work against the rabbit because he is still too whi- I mean human. that doesn't sound any better, does it...

White(rob) Zombie's more human than human, superbeast, and super charger heaven.

Is there anything out there that you would say you don't enjoy?

Is it that bad? DmC had Noisia dubstep, fedora Vorgil and probably just as crass dialogue.
Tho, I can say DmC feels like a DmC as a game, so it has that going for it.

The vice president is probably gonna be part of their creation along with Arius creating artificial demons.
The order will be a cult that believe, it's "God's will" that humans evolve into "angels" or some retarded bullshit.

I'm somehow not bothered by DmC's use of Dubstep and Punk Rock since it fits the attitude of the game. None of the song choices except the DMC soundtrack fitted the scenes.

Lady will still be horribly written

Dante still barely gets enough screen time

Agni and Rudra aren't as cool as their game counterparts

Horrible dialogue over all

Special demon bullets that don't always work because plot instead of having every demon with their own weak points like the games

Nah, the problem is more than the shitty message they're going with.

So many demons are just big top heavy muscle dudes with weird heads. Even Agni and Rudra are that for no real reason. I don't get why they actively made their design shit. And then you have Cavalier and Echinda being two super well designed creatures next to them all and its jarring as fuck.

Also, it's insane to me that they foreshadow and make a bit of a deal out of Lady getting Kalina Ann, only for her to use it for all of 10 seconds before dropping it and the first rocket she fires doing absolutely nothing. Meanwhile Dante doesn't get Ebony and Ivory, but he does get Rebellion which is just sorta lying around.

I didn't care for most of the songs but Dante blasting Rage Against the Machine was based

I never played the games and only knew some lore about the main characters so I pretty much went in blind.
Overall I liked it but the overused CG was lame and the "gotta humanize the other side" trope was a bit annoying.

you genuinely didn't play the game. you watched a playthrough or just absorbed series knowledge through fandom osmosis

I'll brb. I forgot I left the stove on.

Everything good?

Why not just adapt the games in chronological order? i feel like you can make at least 10 good episodes for each game, with maybe a few tweaks for the writers not to get bored

yeah. Was cooking black rice for the first time. it's a little dry, but still edible.

kind of the least he could fucking do actually >Those disgusting furry undertale demons.

The week has barely started and it's already ruined

it's boring ive already played the games hundreds of times
plus, capcom would never allow stuff like picrel in their games (and the only reason people watch this shit)

I really don't like that they stole Nero's theme for this scene.

file.png - 2007x1081, 1.81M

I hate it because if you lay things out for game Arkham, he's the most evil character in the series.

is into black magic, no big tragic reason why, might have just started reading some books when he was young, wanted to become a god

knows about Sparda and Temen-ni-gru, is probably the only person alive to know that it also needs the blood from a specific line of priestesses

meaning he more than likely sought out his wife, Lady's mother, for the express purpose of having access to her magical blood

uses it in the ritual that gives him Jester powers by sacrificing her, but not before he makes a backup by having her birth a daughter

then uses said daughter in the final phase of his plan, having lured her for most of her life to chase him

is such a stone cold bastard that he even lies to her by faking his own death and making her think he was lured into it all by Vergil

know that, no matter how much she hates him, he's still her father and she still loves him enough to rush into fights she can't possibly win

EVEN THEN he tries to manipulate her a final time after he gets wrecked by Dante and falls out of the portal, only dropping the act when he actually is on deaths door

gets put down like a fucking dog by Lady mid-scream likes it's Goodfellas

she still cries for him

Anime Arkham is so much more shallow that his whole life is summed up in less than 15 minutes. He's tragic and sympathetic, game Arkham is pure fucking evil.

dmc3-arkham.jpg - 500x1150, 43.18K

Well cause that would be the logical thing to do and it wouldn't let Adi add his own 2004 Middle East invasion shit in it
Also now I want a pet cat.
Hope it tastes well.

IMG_6328.jpg - 735x917, 46.53K

The people who support palestine make me wish it was turned into a crater faster just so i can see the look on your smug fucking face

So what was the point of Lady's character arc if she ends up locking up Dante anyway instead of forming the Devil May Cry business?

Anon is not right but he's not 100% off the mark, sometimes reality knocks off Dante's "coolness" in DMC3.

gets ambushed at his local, makes a mess of the place even when dispatching fodder

sneezes when doing his cool jacket wearing, trashing his local

gets swallowed up by Leviathan after doing his cool sequence after awakening his DT

after the fight with Beowulf he's tired and struggling, gets punched down to the ground

Off the top of my head. This is completely absent in DMC4 in which he might be drunk since nothing is an actual danger to him.

you genuinely didn't play the game. you watched a playthrough or just absorbed series knowledge through fandom osmosis

Sounds like you didn't play the game. There's several scene where Dante does something cool, and then it ends with something that undermines that cool.

Puts on his coat in a cool way, sneezes and his house falls apart

Runs down Temi-Ni-Gru, gets eaten by a whale

Catches Lady midair, gets shot in the head

Dodges Lady's bullets, gets bulletholes in his coat

Rides up Temi-Ni-Gru with a motorcycle, strikes a cool pose, it explodes in his hands

It's all to show how he's still young and haven't figured out the whole "Dante thing" yet

Like other anons have said, western writers always overcomplicate DMC when given a chance to write it because they’re insecure and arrogant
They think they’re smarter than the Japanese writers and that just adding more “worldbuilding” makes something inherently better, not realizing that the reason DMC stories work is because writers like Bingo are masters of keeping the stories of these games as simple as they should be as toku stories while finding the right places to inject emotional depth and drama
Adi has the brain of an insecure teenager who thinks he knows better than the original creators behind DMC and isn’t anywhere near self-aware enough to accept being humbled

Bait or retardation. Call it.

hatewatchers won

He married into it.

I'm calling it now. This is going to be a thing in S2. They've already done the approaching storm reference and I'm sure they want to get all the memes in there. This is going to be one too.

Trump should charge this loser with antisemitism and send his ass back to india

I only watched 1 episode and all the combined Rayman clips

Literally the only conceptually decent part of Laserhawk was Rayman's character and the idea of making an asscreed composite a literal frog. Those two ideas are gold, and unfortunately they're the sideplot and a joke character in complete fucking garbage.

Cmon bro, did you not even play 3? It is THE recurring gag in that game.
And even more like the Jukebox that wont start so he keeps pressing the button until he smashes the jukebox

she still cries for him

fuck youre really reminding me how great the last few cutscenes of this game are

my online girlfriend is mad at me and the Nteflix DMC show ended up being a stinker. what a terrible start of the month.

Vergil

best part of the series

"I LE AM THAT STORM THAT IS LE APPROACHING"

"Our King Mundus"

Crap

LE SHOW IS AN INSULT TO DMC FANS opinion

you guys just like gatekeeping

Is Vergil actually willingly working with Mundas?

adding more “worldbuilding” makes something inherently better

They can't even do that, it's so inconsistent. You have devil hunters but demons are a myth still, even though many people have spotted them before. When Arkham went to report a demon attacking his family he gets laughed at. Why? All that while there's a fucking government agency detected for demon hunting. Then we have a scene where lady tells another devil hunter that demons exist. Like huh?
What about the so great world building about the demon world they did? They legit just gave it a japanese name and some more lesser demons that look humanoid enough. They don't categorize different types of demons, if there are demon animals, like Geryon. They don't delve into what Mundus does there at all.

unless season 2 reveals vergil pulling a betrayal, yes.

you guys just like gatekeeping

so does your dad, but that doesnt stop me from coming into your house and having sex with your mom

you guys just like gatekeeping

Can someome explain to me how gatekeeping is a bad thing?

yeah we like gatekeeping because we don't want our fandom to be infested with normie slop eating hogs who enjoy half assed garbage like you

We are the sons of Sparda. Within each of us flows his blood. But more importantly, his soul! And now my soul is saying it wants to stop you.

Unfortunately, our souls are at odds brother. I need more power.

And we're supposed to be twins.

Twins. Right.

why the long face?

God damn this show also just LOOKS horrible. Why is Rebellion's handle such a tiny little fucking twig?

How often is Dante topless? This is important.

You have devil hunters but demons are a myth still, even though many people have spotted them before.

That's literally the setting as explained on the DMC5 briefing. The memory of Sparda and demons slipped from mankind's memory until the links between the human and demon world began to weaken after 2000 years.

They legit just gave it a japanese name

That's just the Japanese name.

the only people that complain about gatekeeping are the ones the gates are supposed to keep out
DO NOT FORGET THAT

you guys just like gatekeeping

Yes but the show is dogshit even beyond that

DMC3. after that he is always portrayed wearing a shift.

Didn't Itsuno say he was supervising this Netflix show though

It would be in character for him to play the part of the loyal servant with plans to betray him, on the other hand the implication is that he's been with Mundus since he was a kid so he could be hyper brainwashed(either literally of figuratively like lady).

same way Neil Gaiman was supervising The Sandman. people really overestimate how much power a supervisor has. If they don't like a thing the most they can do is walk away. they have no power to shut down a project or shut down any ideas once it's in progress :)

All we know is that he tweeted he was supervising it.
What this role actually means is in the context of this production is completely unknown. He could've had one email exchange and that was it or he could've been way more involved like when he had to fly to London several times to tard wrangle Team Ninja during DmC's development.

I wish I gatekept this series more desusenpai

The creator of The Last Airbender supervised both movies and was told to fuck off every time he didn't like anything. creator being involved means nothing.

Cain's Offering

My nigga

Would have been cooler if they actually blasted some stuff from the games rather than licensed music, still I think the RATM insert was probably the only good one.

I think about it all the time. Why did Vergil lose his temper at Dante asking him what he's going to with all that power? Vergil evidentially already knew who Mundus was while Dante seems to not have fully figured it out until 1, so it's possible Vergil never intended to come back and was going to use Force Edge to get revenge. And the reason he loses his cool there is because Dante, this fucking asshole, hasn't even THOUGHT about it.

And after he loses the fight and they go for their final charge at each other, it's not even close; Vergil does a big obvious overhead strike while Dante slashes through him completely. Was Vergil already totally fucked but let Dante deliver the final blow out of pride? Was he trying to let Dante escape instead of dragging out the fight?
And then when he says "it will be fun to fight WITH the Prince of Darkness", did he mean against or alongside him? Did Dante doom his brother, only to ironically complete his revenge quest years later?

And Dante ever confess to Lady that he destroyed her bike?

I think the biggest problem with the show is that it just feels unfocused.

If the show could have kept up the energy it had like when the Mercs raid Dante's apartment, I legit think it would have been a great show. Instead it switches gears and starts focusing more on Lady and the whole Bush era shit, and that is when I think it fumbles, it feels like something that should have been saved for later seasons, the first Season should have had Dante as the star of the show, then you can focus on other characters and heavy subjects later

That's literally the setting as explained on the DMC5 briefing.

Except this isn't DMC5, we know Bingo is a hack and has a ton of fucking plot holes in his story, so much that he needed to make sense out of the timeline of all the mess he made like the idiot he is.
So as an adaptation, they should avoid making the same inconsistent retcons and plot holes that have plagued the series. Lady obviously says in DMC3 that the legend of Sparda is a myth for most people, but they know and she knows that demons exist, her job is literally still demon hunting. Even if they don't, you wouldn't see Dante tell Nero that demons are real. you wouldn't see Lady tell another demon hunter what demons are for shitty exposition.

That's just the Japanese name.

Yeah, but now it's what they call their world and race in this show, which is stupid.

did he mean against or alongside him?

Against since he starts charging him sword out

Too much political shit, not enough wacky wahoo pizza time

This is fucking retarded.

Could have been trying to prove himself in a trial by combat. The brilliant thing is that "trying to be like Sparda" could be either fight for or against demons. Mundus could have double crossed him.

I don't think so but it's fun that 3 doesn't state it outright.

See
Better than Castlevania Nocturne. Also better than Cyberpunk Edgerunners I think, so yeah, pretty good.

was the scene with Lady changing into her uniform and having a close up of her pubes sticking out of her panties really necessary? was mentioning Racoon City really necessary? What job could Dante have had?

In DMC, I don't think it's that much of an incosistency that people forgot all about demons all over 2000 years until Vergil decided to spawn an absolute unit of a demon tower in the middle of London.

Until then, demons going to the human world could only be freak accidents and demon hunters be an obscure profession.

Dante and Vergil probably have a strange relationship with fighting given it's something they've done with each other for so long I think dmc 5 misses this point. So it isn't hard to imagine Vergil finding the prospect of battling this overwhelming force Mundus exciting.

It's pretty easy. Just take the games and translate it into an animated show. Everything is already there

DMC doesn't take place in New York City O_0

Of all the possible names, they settled on calling Arkham John.

Literally the only conceptually decent part of Laserhawk was Rayman's character and the idea of making an asscreed composite a literal frog

The niji rangers were good too, especially Niji Red going mask off all the time.

images (3).jpg - 300x168, 7.13K

How does dmc 5 miss this point? The entire finale is about their battle autism

3 likely does.

watching putrid dogshit for idiot normalfags

lmao

Nothing in the game even implies that

I think it's less fight autism and more that they didn't grow up. Their relationship and childhood was divided and cut short by a terrible and traumatic event. They're still those kids at heart when they're with each other.

Fuck me.

Mainline DMC is a pseduo-earth where real life places exist but not really, like Redgrave is clearly DMC's version of London and DMC4 is an italian island, but its not ACTUAL New York like in this show

I took a 3 foot long poop. I've been cutting out greasy junk food out of my diet and eating more vegetables. this is what healthy bowel movements must feel like . no more hard thick short poops that cause me so much strain and pain. I didn't even have to struggle to push it out. was more satisfying than watching Netflix DMC.

By having Nero butt in as this savior who needs to beat them both into submission so their fighting doesn't get out of hand. Dante already resolved to kill Vergil since he already went too far in DMC 3 but the final cutscene shows he really wasn't willing to let him actually die.

I think dmc 5 misses this point.

I agree. I don't like the changes it made to their relationship with each other. "Sibling rivalry" isn't "they have always wanted to kill each other literally". And there's never a good moment in 5 where Dante pauses and reflects on how far gone Vergil is, maybe how painful that is for him, even if he states it in dialogue later on. I also don't like that Vergil apparently has a jealousy over Dante being their mother's favourite. It was much better when it was just about two identical twins who responded to the same trauma in a different way while having a different perspective on their father.
Fucking hell man, the more I talk about the old games the shittier and shittier this Netflix series seems. There's NO themes of family or "sins of the father", very little about what makes someone human or demon/good or evil, nothing about crying and what the means, nothing about redemption from the darkness, Jesus Christ.

S1 was not shit because Iga forced Ellis to rewrite 8 times.

Where was Iga during the rest of the seasons?

In DMC1, Dante's shop is filled with dead demons, if it was supposed to be an obscure or secret job it would be pretty retarded if you ask me.
In DMC3, Dante decided to make a shop, why? Who knows. But in the end it becomes a devil hunting service. Was that his plan? Or did he decide to turn it into that after the events of DMC3? It's vague enough for you to bullshit through it. But we know the intention was obviously to make it a devil hunting job.
And DMC4 is the real kicker here. A whole ass area that gets attacked by demons randomly cause why not. We can even see Nero killing a bunch of those demons on his way to church lmao. How does a normal person go from one place to another in Fortuna? And how are demons still an obscure thing after all this shit?

Neil Gaiman was doing more than supervising The Sandman show, he was a creator.
It's awful because he wanted it to be that way.
Reminder that non rapist Neil Gaiman wrote the Sandman and rapist Neil Gaiman decided that all the gay changes of the show were warrented

I think 5 captured the essence of two hugely traumatized individuals resorting back to their basic instincts because the only thing theyve ever known was fighting. It wasn't until a 3rd perspective (Nero) cuts in to emphasize that you can reconcile and overcome your traumas. On the basic level it's a family squabble that degenerated into fighting where it all stems from how the twins handled the trauma of losing Eva. Although the games don't show it well, the underlying theme that ties all the characters in 5 was that everyone sans Trish was dealing with some sort of familial trauma and overcoming them.

In DMC1, Dante's shop is filled with dead demons, if it was supposed to be an obscure or secret job it would be pretty retarded if you ask me.

Not secret, but merely obscure.
There are also tarot readers and shit like that in our world. The normal public would just think he's a scammer.

DMC1 and DMC2 happen in isolated islands (although DMC2 is stretching it since iirc there were modern cities devastated by demons), but after DMC3 (and every game after that) I think it can safely be assumed that demons are common knowledge again. In DMC5 they acknowledged this by having Kyrie speak on the radio and normal military try to deal with the demon invasion.

The stunted emotional growth aspect was never outwardly shown but even going through the side materials it has been such a big underlying theme. I really wished the game would at least put more side material in to show that more because people can't into subtext.

KINO
I wonder if Bingo will still write DMC6 now that Itsuno is gone.
I hope so, but it would also be the opportune time to get a new writer in I suppose.

I tought the Ouroboros company literally owned the city, like some kind of corporate nation-state.

The existence of demons and seemingly little to no reaction from any sort of government or military (until 5) has NEVER made sense. 1 is the only game where it all happens in a remote enough place on a small enough scale to go unnoticed by the wider world. 2 has an entire island nation taken over by demons and completely depopulated by humans. 3 has a huge tower crack through the middle of a city and demons pour out into the streets, evidentially massacring people too. 4, as you said, is that again but we actually see it happen for the first time. Yeah, sure, apparently Fortune is "remote", but come the fuck on.

The only way that it makes sense in my head is that it's some sort of alternate reality third world Europe of the 90s/early 2000s with communication and infrastructure on the level of central Africa. There could be a demon invasion in the Congo right now and you wouldn't know straight away. 5 is the first time that it felt like we were close to IRL reality what with it being a nice modern city, there being news reports, the military, etc. But then, idk, surely they would have nuked it by then if it was 1 for 1 our reality.

Turbo Autism: I also hate that William Blake exists in the DMC universe because that implies Christianity, the British Empire, different historical figures he knew, etc. I thought it was going to be some alternate reality of the guy, but no it's just straight up William Blake the 18th century London poet and printmaker.

I like that there is some subtlety and finesse to the character writing that is not so explicit and blatantly told to the audience. I think some of it goes over the head on like 95% of the fanbase, but that's okay to me

I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!

I don't know I only played that piece of shit when I rented it one weekend like 20 years ago. I barely remember anything except the hot ginger babe, the moustache villain and environments set in modern cities.

hes supposed to be cringe

No hes supposed to be a Dork, but cool in spite of it.

I feel in 3 they didn't show any people fighting or reacting to it because they wanted to keep the story on a more personal note, like a play. Only a very select set of actors interacting with each other in a seemingly barren world.
4 and 5 actually show people being messed up by demons.

When I was critical on dmc5's story after it came out, I was met with a lot of 'the story has always been dogshit bro' and it genuinely upset me. Maybe it isn't like, Citizen Kane but for a video game you can tell there was a lot of consideration put into the characters and who they are. Dante and Vergil are brilliantly realized in the ways they seem like polar opposites but are actually so similar down to the small quirks they have, with Lady being just similar enough to both of them to help Dante figure himself out.

The actual answer is that humans are in no way capable of responding to demons. Even the most basic bitch puppets and blood ants tear apart the toughest human forces and tank missiles.
The prepared response in case of a demonic incursion that Dante can't handle is the same as the prepared response for a billion nukes being launched: sit down, lean over, kiss ass goodbye

dmc 3 happens in a few hours at most, so I suppose they just handwave the aftermath away
dmc 5 takes over a month of Dante being knocked out, so they couldn't ignore outsider reaction

I miss the SMT styled Devil Triggers from 3...

The normal public would just think he's a scammer

No, they think he's a detective lol. That's what the 2007 anime paints him as. But at the same time, we get so many demons wandering around. It's such bullshit that the mainstream public doesn't believe in demons still.

DMC2

Something turned a bunch of their civilians into demons in that game I think and that's why it's barren now. So stupid

after DMC3 (and every game after that) I think it can safely be assumed that demons are common knowledge again

Let's be real, you can only say this cause of how vague 3 made things. Not a bad thing cause that's what any smart writer will do to not have plot holes or something that would distract from the main message. But when making sequel after sequel, it starts falling apart bit by bit. It's all fine now, but you can't say that it wasn't messy world building in the og.

you...you know DMC3 happens before DMC1, right?

I'd rather have DMC6 than DMC1 or 3 remake. I hope they are not going the remake route with the series

I think 5 captured the essence of two hugely traumatized individuals resorting back to their basic instincts because the only thing theyve ever known was fighting.

The issue of 5 though is that all that is redundant as fuck, and that fact the whole game was delegated to some shit that really should have been just a minor side plot and boss fight (incase no one was able get the memo even after playing 3) added to a much better plot and more world building to DMC's lore, they instead chose to make a new character that's Vergil, join the gang, to fight a new big bad, that's Vergil, foil his plot so that you can help then Vergil stop Vergil so that all that leads up to is fighting Vergil, drains what ever deep thought was put into their dynamic and makes DMC 5 come off as the most laziest representation of what Devil May Cry is suppose to be. That's how five missed the point of those two.

DMC won

name dropping Saddam

Actually very relevant considering it was net&yahoo who told us to kill him, told us to get rid of assad, and now wants us to fight Iran for them.

For sure, it's a shame that a huge number of the fanbase especially newcomers 5 brought in miss out on that subtlety. I'm just glad 5 at least canonized the events of Dante being Tony Redgrave and the fallout of that. On another note, the way how they justified the fixed spelling error on E&I was really well done and smart.

That's literally my point.

Even the old slice of life anime was better

They're going to do the RE route and have both remakes and sequels in the making

DMC FRANCHISE PACK

Not to mention literally compares Muslims to demons

Its a pro israel decision, the idea as always is getting whites and muslims to fight each other on behalf of jews.

Its also why alot of Kosher nationalists are fine with mass immigration and only seem to demonise muslims and whites

How'd they justify it?

I hope Mundus comes back as the big bad. The question is who's gonna finish him off? Either of the twins make sense, Nero would only make sense if Mundus tries to fuck with him like kidnapping or hurting Kyrie.
Unless they want to follow up on Dante's last line to Mundus and reveal that Dante has a son this whole time.

Dan said he did his "younger Vergil voice" at a con

Reuben flubbed and said "DMC6, uh, 5" in an interview

Do we get cautiously hype, Anon Babbleros?

Triple Jackpot obviously

I’ve heard the DMC novel had Dante discovers his demon heritage but forgot it due to repressed memories. Is that true?

Adi Dante is just dbs Goku

Fair enough

Ah it slipped my mind, how silly of me. So does DMC2.

I guess since iirc you don't really have any interaction with humankind in those games it doesn't matter for the argument at hand ("when did humankind notice demons again in the DMC universe")

I was forced to watch this trash becuase my brother really wanted to watch it. i think ill go back and watch the older one now to wash the taste out of my mouth. YUCK

I wonder if Bingo will still write DMC6 now that Itsuno is gone.

I don't see why he wouldn't, he clearly loves the DMC universe a lot and writes so much material DMC5 basically had trouble fitting it all. Reading Visions and V and the tie-in novel makes you realize just how much fucking stuff he has in his head that just doesn't make it into the games

I appreciate the perspective, but it's something that's been done before, his poor coping mechanisms led him to a tragic fate that Dante surpassed. It feels very cheap, like he's being brought back just because he's popular when he isn't and never has been the protagonist of this series. It just doesn't suit him to be one.

So does DMC2.

no friend, it does not. take a nap old pal.

I loved 5's story, to me it is the best one together with 3

That's ANOTHER thing that pissed me off about the Netflix series: the demons do fuck all as a whole. Apparently they're this big threat and Lady hates them enough to dedicate her life to killing them to a degree that clearly harmless humanoid ones are gunned down by her squad with little hesitation. Yeah, I know that there's government propaganda painting them as bad, but even Starship Troopers shows people getting fucked up by the bugs. There's literally nothing shown to go on that would lead one to believe demons are a threat.

In the games, we could assume that they are out there but they're fairly rare, maybe not even recognised by the general public when some ultra violence happens because they assume it's an animal or a crackhead or something, until 3 happens. All because Sparda did his job, and maybe continued to do his job until his sons' lifetimes. Only from 3 onwards do large scale demon activities start to happen and a class of professional demon hunters needs to be formed to react. Maybe the governments of the games simply haven't gotten their shit together enough to know what to do.

My biggest gripe with DMC V, is after you leave the streets, the game is very barren with color.

I meant DMC2 happens after DMC3 (and DMC1) as well.

To be fair that was only really established in dmc5 that rebellion has any special powers.
Before that it was just the moment he unlocked dt being when vergil stabbed him with rebellion but no actual confirmation until 5 that rebellion itself triggered it rather than just anger/desperation

even ignoring the dialogue, i thought the action was less than mediocre at best. both the 2007 anime and the games have much more expressive animation, whereas the 2025 show has really stiff movement and kinda jittery transitions. it looks like someone took the justice league cartoons and made all the choreo worse

Usually when a non demon becomes a demon they become a pathetic puddle of slime like Arkham or Arius

Please please please give Vergil the Style mechanic and tie all of his Summoned Swords special moves on the style button.
I'm REALLY fucking sick of trying to walk towards or away from an enemy while locking on to them as I attempt to shoot them with Summoned Swords only to accidentally do Blistering Swords or Storm of Swords instead. Shit's annoying.

Order of the Sword is a cult hidden away on Fortuna but it does imply the existence of some organizations that specialize in hunting demons.
The demon world is not omnipresent, while demons are able to regularly cross over into the human world they are infrequent enough that a handful of demon hunters in a specific region can handle most demon-related incidents (look to the anime for an example where Dante does a lot of traveling to get to different cases). The anime establishes that powerful demons have a hard time getting to the human world so they would rely on lesser demons to open a door for them. Most incidents involving demons would be either unintelligent lesser demons that are more direct threats but not that powerful or intelligent lesser demons that are plotting to open a gate, both of which you could plausibly deal with using humans.
A devil hunter organization like the Order would likely need to send like 3-5 hunters on average for a single lesser demon, though.
Keeping a masquerade would probably be possible through most of the events we directly see, up until the Qliphoth appears in Redgrave. It'd probably be something that a demon would even want, since it makes it easier to operate if most of humanity doesn't believe they exist.

4th biggest show of the week. With the others being live-action dramas so pretty different demographics

4th.jpg - 1330x608, 97.57K

Honestly even without the politics its still a shitty DMC show
The politics only make it worse than it already was tho.

But youre right it could have had potential as a new ip

Normal fags lower the bar so bad.

Oh, and remove the Concentration bar. The Devil Arm buffs that you get from Concentration should be gained through Style ranks instead.

My skin is cold

Capcom will see this and say-

Sigh, do people still care about DMC? I don't know...

Fucking JOHN ARKHAM

American Devil May Cry

Nobody from the order of the sword turned into a puddle.

This is completely absent in DMC4 in which he might be drunk

Well in the first anime he was an alcoholic and also addicted to ice cream

the 2007 anime and the games have much more expressive animation,

Look, I love the the 2007 anime, but you can tell how half assed it is. Every fight ends right when it starts. And the worst part is how bad the English dub ended up being.

One piece turned out alright, so I doubt its to do with not being allowed to fix it, but rather that most ip holders dont really care that much.

Why would you think Itsuno cares all that much if they release some shitty dmc products considering DmC happened which he also helped with

why is it okay for Frieren to be racist towards demons, but not okay when Lady does it?

it didn't have the best animation ever, but i felt like the limited scope of the fights still sold the weight and heft of dante's movements really well. the opening bar fight is a really good example where the entire thing is basically decided in a couple little maneuvers and a single thrust of the rebellion, but dante flipping the piece over his back has stuck with me for a long time. another good episode with a lot of momentum is the one about the bike race.

it's no masterpiece but it was dripping with far more style than you might have thought seeing as it was a licensed anime

The Devil Arm buffs that you get from Concentration should be gained through Style ranks instead.

No, fuck off. Stop trying to turn the style meter into a contrived game mechanic, it's already bad enough as it is. All this is encourage boring as fuck metaplaying where you're being "stylish" by just cycling the best moves that build style

Apparently they're this big threat and Lady hates them enough to dedicate her life to killing them to a degree that clearly harmless humanoid ones are gunned down by her squad with little hesitation

So did you miss the part where a demon tried to eat her and her mom, but got hit by a train?
Or how Arkham, in a moment of weakness spent months on months holed up trying to make himself a demon, only to then lose himself, eat her mom and burned down her house in the process, leaving her alone with nothing?
Or how about years later when on her first day on the job she witnessed demons coming from a portal that got then got ate by a bigger demon that tried getting through the portal?
and then the there's the terrorist Rabbit dude, waging war on the world for demons ya know.

I'm excessive as it was her racism had justification.

Actually fun idea, and gives a better incentive to use the style meter besides the scoreboard.

The original .45 Warks was engraved by Nell to all her weapons because she was given a paper medal by her kid after a shooting accident that cost him his eye. Her kid was young so he mispelled works, Nell thought it was endearing. Eventually sometime before 5 would go to Nell's kid fix the engraving.

reuben flubbed and said 6

when the fuck did that happen?

was mentioning racoon city relevant

Theyre setting up a Capcom animated multiverse.
I wouldnt be surprised if it ends up with a mvc collab project at some point

I hate that. I also hate what they did with Yamato.

1 and 3:

it's a sickass sword that can maybe shoot some magic slash waves (though maybe that's just Vergil's own energy)

4:

it's also a key for a specific giant Hellgate in Fortuna

it retains some of Vergil's essence (maybe retconned because Nero is officially his son so maybe that's within Nero?)

it maybe allows Nero to unlock more of his own demonic power

5:

it can now open portals to hell seemingly anywhere (don't know why Vergil needed to go back to his family house to do this)

it can divide a half-demon into their human and demon sides (though it never does this with Dante, Nero or any of the Order of the Sword half-demons despite being stabbed by it)

it can turn into a weird spinning crystal that can generate a forcefield and maybe do all sorts of attacks taken from other bosses (maybe it can create those bosses too)

And now Rebellion has the ability to, what, absorb other devil arms into itself and the person stabbed and integrate that power....but this also doesn't happen outside of this one instance even though the same scenario should have been possible. This also needs to happen in Dante's childhood home for seemingly no reason.

True. I've always liked that the basic mook enemies are basically just evil spirits possessing physical mediums like sand or mannequins or bags of bugs, while the tougher ones walked out of a proper portal. I guess the Order set up its demon hunting unit because they were creating artificial portals large enough for the likes of Berial to walk out of them. I also like the fact they mess with the environment, like Echidna's Hellgate causing the forest to grow rapidly, or Dagon/Bael's causing a snowstorm. It's like their own environments are bleeding onto the earth.

It was pretty okay back when DMC3 came out. All of that character development and she still considers her job 'kill every last demon'

One piece turned out alright

Because both showrunners actually read every single chapter out of 1000 something that was out at the time to actually understand the series. The older showrunner took the time to actually read the entirety of the series the moment he got appointed as showrunner, while the younger one has always been caught up to One Piece and reads the manga every week to this day.

HONK HONK IT WAS FUCKING STUPID IN EPISODE 5 WHEN LADY USED KNOWLEDGE OF THE SHAPESHIFTING DEMON'S ABILITIES AGAINST HIM, WHEN THAT INFORMATION WAS NEVER MADE AVAILABLE TO HER

EARLIER IN THE SERIES HE EXPLAINS THAT IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN HIS FORM AS SOMEONE'S DOPPELGANGER THE PERSON HE'S DISGUISED AS MUST STAY ALIVE. THIS INFORMATION WAS RELAYED TO THE AUDIENCE BUT NEVER TO LADY

THEN IN EPISODE 5 SHE EITHER
1) TRIES TO CONVINCE HIM TO ASSUME HER FORM IN ORDER TO BUY TIME TO PREVENT HIM FROM IMMEDIATELY KILLING HER, WHICH IS SOME BULLSHIT BECAUSE SHE HAD NO PLAN B AT THIS POINT AND SHE WAS ON THE ROPES. WHY DIDN'T HE JUST KILL HER? WHY WOULD HE TRUST HER AND ASSUME THAT HER FORM WOULD BE ANY MORE ADVANTAGEOUS??? IS HE RETARDED??? THE SCENE PLAYS OUT LIKE SHE KNEW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN - THAT ECHIDNA WOULD ATTACK THE CLONE AND SHE'D GAIN AN ADVANTAGE. WHAT WAS SHE GOING TO DO IF HE REFUSED? SHE'D BE DEAD!

OR

2) KNOWINGLY USED SAID INFORMATION TO HER ADVANTAGE TO CONVINCE HIM TO SPARE HER, TO DELIBERATELY SET HIM UP FOR ECHIDNA'S ATTACK. IT'S AS IF SHE KNEW ECHIDNA WOULD APPEAR AT ANY MOMENT AND SUDDENLY ATTACK. EITHER WAY, THAT SHIT'S GAY BECAUSE, AGAIN, THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE SHAPESHIFTER'S ABILITIES WAS NEVER KNOWN TO HER.

ALSO IT WAS GAY THAT SHE WAS ABLE TO DISCOVER HIS IDENTITY JUST BECAUSE HE REFERRED TO THE DEMON REALM AS MAKAI. ALSO IT WAS INCREDIBLY CONVENIENT AND CONTRIVED THAT ECHIDNA JUST HAPPENED TO SHOW UP AT THAT MOMENT AND ATTACK THE WRONG TARGET. WHY WAS SHE FOOLED BY HIS DISGUISE? SHOULDN'T SHE HAVE SOME WAY OF KNOWING THAT HE'S NOT THE GENUINE ARTICLE? ALSO WHY DIDN'T LADY PUT A BULLET IN THE SHAPESHIFTER WHEN HE WAS PARALYZED??? SHE JUST ASSUMED HE WAS DEAD AND MOVED ON. SLOPPY.

No?
There are basically no skyscrapers in 3 and the largest thing is temenigru
It would be more accurate to say 2 ends in nyc but even thats wrong aswell
5 kinda takes place in london maybe

I recently watched a couple of the episodes again, and I just gonna respectfully disagree.
The show stuck out for me because of it's stories more than animation, which was fine. It was awesome to see Lady and Trish meet up among among other things. The art style was cool as well but I wouldn't really be praising it like that.

The duality of Devil Hunters.

The stunted emotional growth aspect was never outwardly shown

Dante is like a 40 year old teenager and vergil is a 40 year old edgy teenager.

I mean they dont explictly say it but they do clearly show it

I think you're missing out on some of the poetry and emotion that goes into it in favor of dry logic

Tbh it makes more sense that the military dont engage in the older games than it does for them to fight in 5.

If the humans knew about demons most of like normie military wouldnt dare fight them

NOOOOO THINK OF THE DEMONERINOS!

WHEN LADY USED KNOWLEDGE OF THE SHAPESHIFTING DEMON'S ABILITIES AGAINST HIM, WHEN THAT INFORMATION WAS NEVER MADE AVAILABLE TO HER

No that was just plasma being baited, she only knew he could shape shift and "told him if you kill me you won't get knowledge to the shit I know" and he took the bait like a chump.

Rebellion has Stinger and Helm Breaker so it's better

So does DMC2

I always forget that DMC5 retconned 2 to being before 4

So did you miss the part where a demon tried to eat her and her mom, but got hit by a train?

She already wants to hunt demons by then (albeit in a childish cops n robbers kind of way), but this was also a non-incident because nobody was hurt in the end. It would be like having a dog ALMOST attack you then wanting to kill all dogs.

Or how Arkham, in a moment of weakness spent months on months holed up trying to make himself a demon, only to then lose himself, eat her mom and burned down her house in the process, leaving her alone with nothing?

This one bugs me because she saw his slow descent and his reverted to his humanity at the end in a sad "I'm sorry" way before dying in an accidental hire. The whole situation was more grey than "grr monster evil". Even a kid could understand that. Game Arkham is way more cut and dry.

Or how about years later when on her first day on the job she witnessed demons coming from a portal that got then got ate by a bigger demon that tried getting through the portal?

That's what I was referencing, and by that point she ALREADY hates demons enough to gun them down in the first place. That's not her first day either, she's already the lieutenant of the squad and giving the orders for that mission.

What I'm saying is that there's never a moment where the audience is made to empathise with her and her demon hunting squad's "bigotry". There's never a scene where she, early in her career, walks in on a demon eating a baby or burning down a hospital or something. There's no demon 9/11, basically. You can look at something like X-men and, while the anti-mutant people are still in the wrong, it's much easier to empathise with why they hate mutants because there'll be a scene where Magneto or whoever murders a politician or blow up a building. There's nothing like that until after the events of the series are already in motion.

This sword looks like ass.

was the scene with Lady changing into her uniform and having a close up of her pubes sticking out of her panties really necessary?

Yes. Stuff like this is always necessary.

1 is irrelevant as its numbers are padded by state propoganda showing it in schools

2
And
3
I have little knowledge of but like you said live action different audience

I can see it being teased at SGF

Fair point, altho theyre alot more organised and probably understand what theyre doing than Arkham or Arius did

Dante's face model teased something on his IG years ago

V's va mentioned that he might or might be working on a DMC project

The signs are there.

Can't wait to see how they'll redesign it next game, or whatever bullshit power up they'll give it.

Adolescence is literal propaganda, how the fuck is it number 1

Probably because in Frieren its established that demons are all evil where as in dmc the main character is half demon and a good guy?

It makes alot more sense for Frieren to want to genocide demons than it does for Lady

Johnny also teased about it I think. It's coming. Whether its a sequel or prequel is a different question

Sparda is a traitor. That's his whole backstory, even the demons agree.

Genuine mistake, 5 is the sixth game.

I think I could have had my cake and ate it if Bingo had written the script better.

there's a ritual room in their house created by Eva that allows the swords to do more magical things like divide/conjoin demonic power hence why they both have to go there. Maybe Sparda used it over time to get rid of his demon side in a more controlled way so he could live as a human.

Yamato can't open portals anywhere, but there's another Hellgate under their home (which would make sense; Sparda might have had to check in on Hell regularly)

Yamato just doesn't turn into a crystal that shit is dumb

Eh, I dunno, Lady is mortal and so is most of the Order of the Sword and they can do it. You'd think there'd be some sort of badass squad of marines that could put up some sort of fight.

I always liked it. As time has gone on I like the four claw tips less, but the rest of it is still great to me, especially the opening up part and the parts of Rebellion with the Damascus steel edge

SAAAR IT WAS FUN SAAAR DO NOT REDEEM BIBEOGAME LOVERS WATCH MY NEEFUL SAAAR

Nta but the old dmc anime is a slice of life anime and its great as that
As an action show it falls flat but thats not what it was trying to be

It sparks retarded discussions and debates that's how. And it's not like it's malicious, it just says to watch out for your kid to not turn out to be another retarded school shooter, stabber or an incel.

Kino villain. One thing I always liked about Arkham was how right he actually was about Vergil. The way DMC3 is such a small and compact story that every plot thread is fully connected is so amazing.

Vergil and Arkham have the same motivation, to discard their humanity and embrace demon power

Vergil sees Arkham as weak because he suspects he still clings to some humanity, some semblance of love and compassion for Lady

But he is actually projecting his own insecurity, as Vergil is the one who still has his humanity, his love for his father, mother and Dante, and he can't let go of it despite how hard he tries

Arkham tells him "What about you? You're an incomplete being as well."

Vergil

This ends up being the entire main story of DMC5

Vergil3.jpg - 712x805, 51.4K

Hiring JYB to play Dante when he already plays Nero is insane

Reuben and Dan likely read the script and refused the roles, don't you know those 2 are based mfers?

Dante struggles constantly

Meme spouts like Deadpool

Lady kills every demon of note with her MAGICAL DEMON KILLING BULLETS

Show ends with her betraying and capturing Dante

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK SHIT FUCK

Season 2 will have her free Dante in protest, you won't fight demons but the evil US government(who are secretly demons)

Wasn't there demons in Frieren that legit wanted to coexist with humans in the manga?

Because the british government is having it shown in schools all over the country artificially inflating its numbers

Everyone bitching about all the shitty changes they made to the main canon, but I dare you to name one change you actually LIKE

For me, it was showing the goverments involvement in demon hunting and there being hunting taskforces. Much more people seem aware of the existence of demons in this universe, which is one thing I dislike about the original canon.

But the real killer of that girl wasn't a white kid, it was a black dude.

absolutely
it has neither the cool/edge factor of Rebellion nor the visceral demonic flair of Sparda, it's just a long gray stick

it's not like it's malicious

Lol its trying to recontexualise knife crime in the UK being the fault of "incels" instead of the diversity that the british government is so excited to force onto their population

Most knife crime in the uk is black on black gang disputes

I hope that 6 is about Vergil's redemption, properly. He's done so much fucked up shit, especially in 5, he has to atone. Like his father did.

What I'm saying is that there's never a moment where the audience is made to empathise with her and her demon hunting squad's "bigotry"

Her squad is hella irrelevant, they are just they're for the pay. That's why you need a "9/11 style" reason to why there's a Demon hunting task force, hell when you consider how forcefully political the show was written, it makes all the more sense to understand it as "Zionist vice president, assembles DARKCOM because, muh God and the Holy war" and that's it. They fucked up by killing her whole squad off in that one episode, but for the most part you are really only suppose to care about LADY and emphasize with her on that issue anyways.

It's a completely conscious decision. DMC is at its core a familiar and personal story. The war between humankind and devils is barely a plot point in any game.

You cannot shift the focus there and pretend to have the same flavour as the games.

Who the fuck wants to see a faggot eating dripping pizza? Utterly distasteful and degenerate. Mukbangfags never ever.

Idk about the manga as ive only seen the anime, but the "good" demons in the anime were literally just pretending to be civil so they could eat people in peace.

The war between humankind and devils is barely a plot point in any game.

DMC5 had the military involved during the demon invasion, DMC2 had invested choppers and tanks and the villain is an evil CEO. It does exist, the series is just incredibly inconsistent with it, which is annoying

6 should be a prequel about Sparda

He showed deep regret over the things he did already but only in the form of V, I think Vergil himself would never own up to the harm he has done. But he absolutely would fix it to maintain his pride and do as his father would have.

Sure, but why hire an actor that already performs a major character in the series? It just leads to confusion, especially if they ever get around to incorporating Nero. I guess they were just that desperate to have some sort of "legitimacy" from people involved with the source material.

So apapt that chick into her own show then, DUH?

Or was her dmc3 look already too sexy for the western media?

Rule of thumb - if you find character cute, let alone 1010 - there will be some AIDS-ridden pink haired smelly blob of fat from HR department endlessly bitching about character's existence.

Demons being dindus completely undermines the entire point of Sparda's rebellion, which in turn undermines the entire cornerstone of the series. It was an easy way to fuck the entire thing up in one, fel swoop.

DMC5 had the military involved during the demon invasion, DMC2 had invested choppers and tanks and the villain is an evil CEO.

Which don't really amount to anything, they're barely plot points.
The game story has always been about Sparda's bloodline and things/people related to it.

Could you do something moving the focus to the actual war? Yes, it just won't feel like DMC, which might not be necessarily bad.

Humanity are the baddies

Also christians because Adi is creatively bankrupt

Because the show is never gonna touch Nero and even if they did, itsnot like voice actors can only play one role per show or game.

Having Enzo I guess? There really ain't much great that this show does sadly. Dante is fine in terms of character but it's legit the least they could do, the bare minimum.

Government involvement and devil hunters

It's nice to see more of but it's not done all that better than the OG imo.

literally the plot of DMC 4

I liked that they showed some other demon hunters, and the whole mercenary world that Dante interacts with. I liked actually seeing Lady's childhood (sans killing off Arkham). I liked seeing Enzo at last and that he was a bit Jon Lovitz-y. I liked seeing Dante go to his local diner where they know him so well they have his order ready.

for the most part you are really only suppose to care about LADY and emphasize with her on that issue anyways.

I know. I'm saying that I DON'T. Her motivation is weak.

I don't want a game about Sparda or for all mystery about him to be removed, but what I would REALLY love to see is Vergil trying to retrace his footsteps in hell. Doing things like finding records he left behind, old comrades he had during either parts of his life (so Mundus loyalists and fellow traitors). Vergil could learn about his father the warrior. Then Dante could learn about his father the lover, and learn how to have a positive relationship of his own, maybe settle down and leave his wild years behind him.

Maybe the find his grave in a paradise hidden within hell, and inside is his last will and testament. Maybe Sparda has left some sort of gift behind for them that allows them to surpass him and kill Mundus for good, bringing about a new age of peace.

Uncle Dante.png - 480x640, 379.37K

For me, it was showing the goverments involvement in demon hunting and there being hunting taskforces.

they just wanted to introduce a zesty looking jobber squad like in One punch man

Much more people seem aware of the existence of demons in this universe

not that aware. Arkham still got laughed at (and emasculated) for trying to involve the police in ""demon"" matters

the usage of licensed music

Easy, just get that one album of band ShootieHG been in, can't sound more DMC than that.
Or go full retard and pick some combo MAD classics like Doomsday Party or Frozen

The order of sparda had nothing to do with christians you retarded secondary.

MAGICAL DEMON KILLING BULLETS

SCIENTIFIC ANON
SCIENTIFICALLY ENGINEERED DEMON KILLING BULLETS.

Get it right.

Sure, but why hire an actor that already performs a major character in the series?

It's not like there's much to choose from in English anime VA sector

Literal half demon in his demon form couldn't do it

SCIENTIFICALLY ENGINERED DEMON KILLING BULLETS could

That explains EVERYTHING

Guys he's one of us

file.png - 690x566, 605.37K

>

prequel about Sparda

Will not play unless Kamiya directs.

SCIENTIFICALLY ENGINEERED

How do you scientifically engineer anything related to creatures constantly bending or outright breaking laws of physics?

Demons being dindus completely undermines the entire point of Sparda's rebellion

Not really, the show actually makes it pretty clear that the demon world is still basically a battle royale hellhole where the strongest demons all fuck with the weakest. Like all the "good demons" are bottom of the ladder. And there's still demons that are just mindless beasts

Nice try faget

He only got invited because Vivek was still on the administration at the time. Stinky poo.

sure, buddy sure

Hey, what city did DMC 3 take place in?

DMC4 is about how the core message of religion is lost on modern followers and religious leaders, and is used to manipulate others (Credo). It doesn't need to be specifically about Christianity but it is critiquing religious institutions plus cults.

The order of sparda had nothing to do with christians you retarded secondary.

So having Sanctus dress like the pope is just a haha funny coincidence for you? Ok

I know. I'm saying that I DON'T. Her motivation is weak.

What did you expect anon? This what happens when you force a side character to be the "Other (Real) main character." This is why Maria in Nocturne is written like shit.

Metro City.

Trust the science, Anon

He struggles against Beowulf, no?

He gets beaten down and makes him escape out of a lucky hit.

Honestly the last episode kinda got me ngl. I skipped the retarded woman psychologist interwiew episode.

A bit I guess. He's comically unaffected from being punched into the ground.

the story of 6 writes itself.

literal divine allegory

explores Hell lore and possibly deep dive into Sparda as the twins journey further into hell

it was subtle enough to tolerate

I DONT WANNA BE AN AMERICAN IDIOT

The same way the rabbit got a poisoned sword. Demon shit extract.
Mundus probably gave it to humans to make them confident in invading hell.

EVEN IF SHE DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS STILL CONTRIVED AS FUCK THAT ECHIDNA STORMS IN AND ATTACKS THE DOPPELGANGER LIKE IT'S THE FIRST TIME SHE'S EVER SEEN HIM SHAPESHIFT BEFORE. WHY WAS SHE NOT ABLE TO RECOGNIZE HIM? DOES SHE NOT KNOW HOW HIS ABILITIES FUNCTION? CAN SHE NOT SENSE HIS AURA OR WHATEVER? COULD HE NOT HAVE FUCKING RADIOED HER AND SAID

I'VE SUCCESSFULLY DETAINED THE HUMAN BITCH

SO SHE WOULDN'T GO IN GUNS BLAZING? NO MATTER HOW YOU SLICE IT, IT'S RETARDED

HONK HONK

calm down

I AM PERFECTLY CALM HONK HONK

It's like never played 4 or any DMC for that matter If you think the boss demon are in any way suppose to be competent and intelligent. Literally only Chevalier fits that bill and he's not even suppose to because in game he not even full demon, he's a hollow shell they stuffed Trish in.

I'll never understand why we went with Vergil's child instead of Dante's. Also even after two games Nero isn't as interesting as Dante was in his first outing.

OH SURE IT'S FINE TO SAY THAT DEMON REFUGEES ARE ACCEPTIBLE EVEN THOUGH WE'VE NEVER SEEN THEM IN ANY DMC BEFORE HUH? IS THAT IT? WHEN THE CONTRIVANCES WORK FOR YOU THEY'RE OK BUT WHEN THEY SHOWCASE THE SHOW'S TERRIBLE WRITITNG SUDDENLY THE APOLOGETICS START FLOWING HONK HONK

I skipped the show. So what is the demon killing bullets made out of? I just assumed it was some explosive liquid.

It's not based on one crime only and having him black will distract people from the main message.

Most knife crime in the uk is black on black gang disputes

I don't live there, and it's not an issue where I live either lol, so not my problem. All I can say is my perspective from the outside. Is it realistic? Idk, probably not. Is it propaganda? Yeah for sure but still not a harmful type of propaganda from what I've seen. The message is still something I support, watch over your kids to not turn into beta bitchless losers.

Dante having a kid feels wrong for many reasons but it's mostly because it would make him a deadbeat. He is very devoted to family, hell Nero's existence could be interpreted as one of the main reasons Dante escapes years of depression and lightens up a bit.

IT'S NEVER FULLY EXPLAIND AND FOR ALL WE KNOW IT COULD BE HOLY WATER OR SOMETHING EQUALLY RETARDED HONK HONK. BUT SOMEONE POINTED OUT IN ANOTHER THREAD THAT SUCH A BULLET WOULDN'T EVEN FUNCTION BECAUSE BULLETS ARE A CASING THAT GETS LAUNCHED FROM THE GUN'S BARREL VIA EXTREME FORCE (AN EXPLOSION) AND THESE BULLETS DON'T HAVE SUCH A CASING BUT EVEN IF THEY DID, IT STILL WOULDN'T FUNCTION LIKE A NORMAL BULLET BECAUSE THE LIQUID INSIDE IS ENCASED IN SOME SORT OF GLASS MATERIAL THAT BREAKS ON CONTACT. HOW IS IT STRONG ENOUGH TO WITHSTAND THE FORCE OF THE EJECTION THEN??? HONK HONK REAL BULLETS ARE A SOLID MATERIAL LIKE LEAD THAT IS EJECTED FROM THE AFOREMENTIONED CASING AND SO THIS SORT OF BULLET MAKES VERY LITTLE SENSE.

Not explained cause it's all made up bullshit to have a logical explanation as to how America can invade literal hell lmao. It's also so inconsistent, there are scenes where she shoots Agni and Rudra with it but they don't die still cause they're that strong I guess. It would've been easier if they just made it like the games and gave each devil a unique weakness but that's too complicated I guess.
I think your caps lock key is broken bro

Man, we really need DMC 6. Also why the fuck hasn't Capcom at least released a special edition of 1 or port the switch version of 3 to other systems?

How would Dante having a kid make him a dead beat? What? He would presumably be raising the kid.

I'll never understand why we went with Vergil's child instead of Dante's.

Because Dante doesn't have a kid. He's a miserable lonely dude still hung up with mad survivors guilt that spends every artificial laugh and instance of fun as a massive coping mechanism to live with that along with drowning himself in pizza. That was literally the whole point of him 5. People thought Vergil can't get over shit? Nah take a another closer look at Mr "Wacky Wahoo jackpot man"

Did they explain why Dante decided to go full shirtless between this and DMC3?

Exactly, they pulled that “anti-demon bullet” junk outta nowhere as a quick fix and expected people not to ask questions. The inconsistency is wild too—like, either the bullets hurt demons or they don’t, pick a lane. And yeah, the unique weakness thing from the games would've been way cooler. Imagine if they leaned into lore and had each boss weak to different devil arms or something—missed opportunity for sure.

I'll never understand why we went with Vergil's child instead of Dante's.

Because Dante is the protagonist of the series and if he became a dad he would immediately be saddled with Nero like Artreus is to Kratos. It's much better gameplay wise to have him be the son of the antagonist instead

HONK HONK YES SORRY ABOUT THAT MY KEYBOARD IS FUCKED UNTIL I CAN GET A NEW ONE BUT IT'S COMING IN LIKE 30 MINS

DMC6

WELL I DON'T KNOW WHAT CAPCOM'S END GAME IS. THEY SEEM TO BE TRYING TO REMAKE EVERY SINGLE RESIDENT EVIL UNTIL THEY GET TO 7, AND THEN EVERYTHING WILL BE FULLY UPDATED SO I GUESS WE'LL SEE WHAT THEY DECIDED TO DO WITH DMC. IT'S POSSIBLE THEY COULD CHURN OUT REMAKES OF THE ORIGINALS BACK TO BACK TO BACK FOR THE NEXT DECADE BUT WHO KNOWS HONK HONK

Honestly i'm not even fully agents the idea of a government agency focused on hunting demons, It's just the way the show handled the idea makes me grown in disappointment.

I didn't expect much from the series but I was still disappointed. If game Lady was the real main character, I would have been totally fine with it.

Exactly. They could be exploring Hell together right now while Nero runs the show on earth. There's so much cool shit you could and we only ever get brief glimpses of Hell in the rest of the series. I'd love if 6 did something a bit like 1 where you can dip in and out of little Hellish pocket dimensions as Vergil, maybe see some of the places hinted it with previous enemies and bosses.

Because if Dante had a 20-ish year old kid and wasn't a deadbeat, then he would never have been a depressed demon hunter running a dead end business going on world saving quests. It is equally important for Dante to be alone with no remaining family as it is for Nero to grow up alone searching for people to make his family. You are asking for the entire series to be rewritten.

Wow, the show really does just fuck everything up
I don't think Dante would let his son/daughter be raised without a dad.

Yes he would, with all the problem he still had going on with Vergil, he most definitely would.

Yes Dante could never do that, that is what I said.

Also, does having anti-demon weapons in this context with the war on terror allegory, mean that these are basically anti-brown bio weapons? Cause the implications here is crazy lmao.

As a matter of fact, Nero is absolute proof Dante would be a deadbeat dad, he's already a dead beat uncle.

Nero was likely born only a short time before DMC3, it's a story that is only possible if his father is a guy who doesn't give a shit about him. And Dante is not that kind of person, even when he was young. Vergil definitely was that person.

Nero is a young adult when we meet him, the series has always played fast and loose with the timeline, I don't see the harm in bumping things up especially when DMC 1 points at a Dante getting over most of his hang ups by the end.

You are asking for the entire series to be rewritten.

I mean, yeah clearly. 4 and 5 aren't on the same level as 1 and 3 story wise. I don't see why Dante's character stagnating for decades of his life is a good thing.

Nero is like 17 or 18 in DMC 4. Nothing much Dante could do to help raise an already late teens Devil Hunter from a island. Besides Dante basically franchised Devil May Cry out to Nero which gave Nero an actual job after 4.

What do you mean? Dante is caring and protective over Nero to a fault, everything in DMC4 and 5 indicates Dante loves his nephew and his priority is to keep him on the right path while protecting him from the conflict in his family. Dante is even willing to risk losing the entire battle and letting the world be destroyed as long as it means Nero doesn't get involved and potentially have to kill or be killed by Vergil.

It's some sort of chemical that reacts to demon DNA (demons have DNA because they're organic life forms that once shared the tree of evolution with a common ancestor with humans before splitting off). But as that other anon said, some demons just don't seem to take damage from them for no real reason. Cavalier in particular tanks direct hits from them and rockets and is barely phased. The anti-demon bullets get undercut so badly that they may as well be regular bullets by the latter episodes.

Also also, Dante survives his head being partially blown off by nano bombs at one point, on top of healing a shotgun wound that leaves a Kung Pow sized hole at one point, but no other demon aside from Plasma manages this. The anti-demon bullets are fatal as though they're regular humans getting hit with explosives.....which makes one wonder why they don't just use actual explosives.

still not a harmful type of propaganda

Wrong.

You dont understand the situation because you dont live here

He had no clue Nero even existed for most of the series and after DMC4 he did dip out to look cool but it seemed like he returned fairly quickly to recruit Nero to work at Devil May Cry which really is obviously because he wants to keep in touch.
Everything between 4 and 5 happened in less than 10 years at absolute maximum, most likely it was more compressed than that.

When I said "entire series" that doesn't exclude the first and third game, at least think about it for a second. How the fuck does DMC 3, 1 and 2 happen if Dante is a family man. You could just say "I don't want Nero to exist and the series should have ended at 3" if that's what you are getting at.

This show is some hot shit but can we admit that loli Lady was very fuckable

How does Dante starting a family after dmc 1 retroactively change any of that.

I don't see why Dante's character stagnating for decades of his life is a good thing.

It's not a good thing, but Itsuno is an autistic Japanese man that doesn't want to risk infuriating his senpai, so Dante is never gonna evolve from wacky hoo hoo man that internalizes his internal suffering through pizza consumption and tomfoolery.

So since Arkham and the rabbit dude become demons by just injecting themselves with random demons blood

That's fucking retarded, it's been stated in DMC3 he needed to sacrifice his wife and countless others to become even shit-tier demon afraid of guns

Nero is a young adult when we meet him

Which only works because Vergil is a dead beat dad.

In order for Dante having a kid to make sense the kid would have to be born after dmc5, so you could do it but dante would be OLD

but it was subtle enough to tolerate

Reading this made me laugh more than it should have, thanks zoomer.

terrible He-Man tier art style that doesn't fit the gothic aesthetic of the games

terrible character redesigns that look like they were made by fat feminists on Tumblr who said "We must fix it" upon seeing the original designs in the games

terrible choppy 12 fps animation full of horrible cg

terrible cinematography that doesn't have even a slight touch of Yuji Shimomura's creativity seen in the games

terrible millennial tier writing that puts emphasis on irony, sarcasm, and constant swearing in order to seem M A T U R E. feels like it was written by a vulgar middle schooler who got abused by his drunkard dad

random collections of 2000s American band songs that don't fit DMC at all

zero respect towards characters' established personalities

Dante acts like a Reddit clown caricature instead of like a young man learning to become a protector of the world like his father

Lady acts like a dog of the government and a vulgar dyke who never learns anything instead of like a lonely broken young girl who overcomes her personal trauma related to her family and changes as a person

zero respect toward established lore

Sparda is portrayed as the bad terrorist instead of the hero of mankind

Mundus is shown as the good underdog instead of the evil emperor with no humanity

zero respect towards the established theme

majority of demons are shown to be innocent and the majority of humans are shown to be evil despite the fact that the message of the games is all about how even someone coming from the race of evil demons can have humanity. hence the name DEVIL MAY CRY

the entire show feels like a propaganda piece about how the United States = Bad, the Middle East = Good. it doesn't feel like an adaptation of Devil May Cry at all

never let a single brown person from muttland ever touch a Japanese franchise ever again

you and me both, nigga

Well no cause you need to ask the question who was it exactly that Vergil dicked down, because that was a girl who some got someone as autistic and hyper focused as Vergil to lay her and bear a child. You can't say he was doing it breed a heir or build a bloodline, because he would be laying multiple bitches to have as many kids as possible, you can't say that he was doing that because of his plan for 5, because the whole point of 5 is he did that shit out of impulse and the games story beats it in to your have that the entirety of 5 was Vergil sperging out, so it'snot likely Nero was conceived specifically for that purpose. So that makes the possibility stronger that Vergil, of all people genuinely found some kind love, lost that love so hard it broke him and his cope was "I need more power...." What could have started as I need more power to protect what I care about most could have easily gotten warped and distorted into just "I need more power!" And that's how you got the Vergil of today.

he didn't come out shitting on old DMC and was very clear about his DMC being his "bootleg" universe

So it just happened like Castlevania then?, he just ruined it but not on purpose you say, fucking faggot!

this pajeet insisting this is in the actual universe of the games

Is he retarded? Lady and Dante meeting before 3 makes no sense, Dante knowing what his amulet is for makes no sense.

Lmao is this pajeet DMC? LMAO DUDE IMAGINE SHILLING FOR THAT SLOP AHAHAHAHA

Because Nero was born many years before that game takes place.

had nothing to watch that day but damn if it was bad

I watched Dark City the day of the premiere, just so i could enjoy something good, there's so much good stuff to see anon, don't torture yourself watching this.

Dante is only in his 40s in DMC 5. He wouldn't be that old. And sparda was around 2000 years old when he had Dante and Vergil.

muh Bootleg

Adi literally debunked this himself, this is his earnest interpretation of whatever he thinks DMC is within its heart and soul and it fucking missed the mark. An absolute hackjob of a project.

Vergil can't even really be called a dead beat since he didn't know Nero existed until the absolute end of DMC 5. And if anything I think it's easier to imagine Dante having a careless one night stand given their personalities at the beginning of DMC 3.

Vergil can't even really be called a dead beat since he didn't know Nero existed until the absolute end of DMC 5

He fucking knew, he personally ripped off Nero's arm.

This may be fun

You're going down

Now I'm a little motivated

You will not forget this devil's power

BLAST

HUUAAAAAH

Rest in peace

g5FA0c9.png - 553x591, 97.23K

Reminds me of the DotA 2 show. Dragon's Blood went in hard on not following any of the source material and making shit up on the fly, this however panders significantly hard but in a fuck deluded wrong direction with a fundamental misunderstanding on what the fuck DMC is. I actually don't know which is worse.

I agree with that. Vergil finding a girl he loves but forcing himself to leave her because of his insistence on discarding his humanity is exactly on brand. No matter how much he tries to convince himself that he is more powerful without his humanity, he never fully believes it and that's my favourite thing about his character.

Yeah cause Nero had his sword. He treats this like a revelation in the last mission of DMC 5.
Nero did not exist before dmc 4 was made. This has to be bait.

he has to atone

He kinda did in form of V, been walking around Redgrave rescuing normalfags (read Visions of V) even as he was falling apart with his every move.

Vergil was interesting because he was an evil villain with no positive qualities who was always obsessed with gaining his dad's power and turning Earth into demonvalle. Obsession that put him on the path of self-destruction. He murdered millions of innocent men, women, and children and destroyed his entire hometown only to save himself in DMC5. He should stab Dante in the back and die for good in DMC6

>terrible character redesigns that look like they were made by fat feminists on Tumblr who said "We must fix it" upon seeing the original designs in the games

Fun fact: I had something of a hand in creating this trend unintentionally.

I had a popular Tumblr post about female armour designs in fantasy sometimes being bullshit next to more convincing male armour designs in settings that were supposed to be "grounded". In that very post one of the examples I used was from a porn site called Bare Maidens, and in the text I specified GROUNDED fantasy, and not just fun "I like swords and tits hell yeah" fantasy. Likewise I advocated for having the men also dress skimpy if the women were because of magic of whatever, in the name of fairness.

Fast forward a few months and someone sets up a blog called Repair Her Armor and runs multiple bogus "contests" where people redesign female characters. Maybe 3 of them were justifiable, but then the rest were all female characters who were simply supposed to be sexy, like Ivy from Soul Calibur. Eventually it became so massive sex negative and filled with the ugliest drawings you've ever seen that it died out.

Listen. I know that I caused the deaths of over fifty million innocent people BUT at the same time I had my fanfic emo poetry alter ego guy saving F O U R innocent people! I'm innocent now.

God. DMC5fags are so fucking dumb

Is there anyone autistic enough to do a screentime count? It really feels like Lady had more screentime than Dante.

It really feels like Lady had more screentime than Dante.

Because she does.

Visions of V

Would have been great if that was in the game. Anyway, how much of Vergil is V and how much is Urizen is ambiguous and I'm not satisfied even if he is 100% V.

always obsessed with gaining his dad's power and turning Earth into demonvalle.

No? Vergil wants power because he's terrified of feeling weak and unable to protect the people he cares about. As to who he cares about any more, who knows. He's lost all sight of his quest, though I imagine he wants final revenge on Mundus still.

What kind of fucking dimensional time paradox are you trying to create here, explain to me how Dante could've had a 18-ish year old son in DMC4, even though you want this son to be born after DMC1 which takes place a short few years earlier, but he was also not a deadbeat dad during DMC2. If you want Dante to be Nero's dad it means Dante is a deadbeat from DMC 3 until 2, end of discussion.

Would have been great if that was in the game. Anyway, how much of Vergil is V and how much is Urizen is ambiguous and I'm not satisfied even if he is 100% V.

The fact that Urizen knows absolutely fucking nothing about his past life save for Dante's name hints that entire Vergil's consciousness landed in V's head.
As for "more redemption", I can't possibly think what threat is left there for him to put down to achieve it. Story is on severe powercreep since 1.

Good lord it pains me to know there are people in the world who are this incapable of understanding a character. Holy shit.

That was the bullshit Jester fed him, are you retarded or something? Dante never was properly explained about what the fuck is the deal with Temen Ni Gru and Vergil.

I can't possibly think what threat is left there for him to put down to achieve it.

Hell is an absolutely underexplored world in the setting that is filled with archdemons they can asspull from on the same level as Mundus or Argosax.

taking what Dante says at face value, in the game where he says the most wacky shit

At some point he straight up asks Vergil what's he trying to achieve with Temem Ni Gru, he only knows it's evil shit so he has to stop it

What a uniquely stupid person. You'd have his son be 16 - 18 in dmc4 by having dmc 4 taking place 16-18 years after the first game.

it's fucking unreal how terrible the story and writing are in dmc5. the entire game fucked up all characters beyond repair

in DMC3 Arkham literally tells Vergil that he decided to work with him because he's equally as evil as he is

Dante's sleeve is ripped off in DMC3 and his Devil Trigger reflects this

It's so good man.

on the same level as Mundus or Argosax

Both of those could be dumped in the sewage in less than a minute by Nero's stand alone while Nero's playing air guitar, that's why 5 had to resort to family drama and Vergil as game's antagonist once again

delete that. vergil is my husbando and a cool hero who didn't do anything wrong. stop saying mean things about him.

Arkham is not a fucking reliable narrator of anything.

Did you forget the part where Vergil fucking kills him. Arkham is not the narrator anon. That's the entire point of the story. Arkham and Vergil want the same thing, to fully embrace demonic power and leave their humanity behind. Only Vergil can't do this, but Arkham does, and gets killed by Vergil and Dante.

As for "more redemption", I can't possibly think what threat is left there for him to put down to achieve it. Story is on severe powercreep since 1.

The obvious one in Mundus. Dante and Trish together could only blast him back through a portal and he's had 25-ish years to hit the gym.

I'd love to see a proper black magic cult empowered by him serve as sort of anti-demon hunters with their own weapons and Devil Triggers akin to the boys. I know the Order were sort of that to a degree, but they seemed like incomplete experiments. Full on evil bastards with a direct tap to the core of Hell itself and weapons made from the souls of other demons, maybe combine with Order tech that leaked out after the crisis in 4. Fuck it, maybe one or two have some of the weapons Dante pawned over the years.

People bring up power creep the whole time but, like, Dante just doesn't use Devil Trigger in 1, nor does he pull off shit half as crazy as he does in 3. You can just make excuses; Nero has been taking on too many fights by himself and their time in Hell has made Dante and Vergil weaker because its a constantly hostile environment. That or there are just stronger demons because they can gain power too.

Go peddle your fan fiction nonsense somewhere else. You don't understand Dante or Nero at all.

Both of those could be dumped in the sewage in less than a minute by Nero's stand alone while Nero's playing air guitar, that's why 5 had to resort to family drama and Vergil as game's antagonist once again

Then they just asspull a bigger and badder demon. Not to mention you're just pulling that stuff out of your ass since Mundus has never been properly defeated.

killing off robbers

My boy did nothing wrong.

In dmc 3 Vergil pretty much is pure evil, it's not how I'd describe him but he would do anything in his quest for power. He already killed countless people by summoning the tower and the person you'd think he might be doing this for, Dante, is treated as just another obstacle to him. Whatever traumatic backstory or original noble cause has clearly been perverted by time.

vergil killed arkham because he stopped being useful to him and because he showed a sign of humanity when mentioning lady.

kwab.jpg - 1280x720, 69.28K

still mad about V being Vergil

truth nuke

He looks dead inside

He's plain evil, as he doesn't care if his methods kill humans.
Pure evil would be actually killing humans or wanting to conquer the world as his objective.

That's why he makes such soulless anime

Also his last act is remaining in the demon world to close the portal and let Dante escape. Meaning he still has some good aspects inside himself.

He kills him here because Arkham was a devil-loving piece of shit who would have gotten in his way. The whole "showing humanity" thing was Vergil projecting his own insecurity, the truth is Arkham doesn't care at all about his family, but Vergil loves his family on some deep suppressed level, and that's what he is trying to force himself to leave behind. In the end he helps Dante kill Arkham for real because he realises he can't let go of that love.

retards forget he swiped Dante's hand with his sword so he wouldn't go after him
