This shit looks like a PS2 game that's been remastered for PS3, not a PS4 game that's been ported to PS5. It looks like shit.
This shit looks like a PS2 game that's been remastered for PS3, not a PS4 game that's been ported to PS5...
It's a Vita game, stupid.
still mogs final faggotry rebirth
Good thing its neither of those.
graphics fags get the rope
Can I live in this timeline please? Your retarded zoomer asses have caused the media to stagnate for over 20 years at this point.
Adol is famously quoted as having replied to the question, "Why did you want to climb Mount Gendarme?" with the retort "Because it's there", which has been called "the most famous three words in mountaineering". Questions have arisen over the authenticity of the quote, and whether Adol actually said it.
what ps2 game is this
thats every falcom game
Music 10/10
Gameplay 10/10
Story 10/10
Characters 10/10
Graphics 7/10
OMG THIS GAMEM IS SHIT FUCGIN REFUNDED.
no one cares how it looks you faggot, its an amazing game
go play some AAA slop if you want muh graphics
SOUL
It’s a Vita game ported to PS4 ported to PS5
at least use Ys X if you want to bitch about le PS2 graphics
Damn, is it that good?
you are right OP... this shitty game doesn't even have ray tracing
why would i play such a shitty game on my $2000 GPU?
"What a beautiful view!"
pans to Minecraft graphics from the PSP era
"This will be an unforgettable memory of your journey"
it's a low-res png of a waterfall
"S-SUGOI" says Dana (who the fuck is Dana, oh it's the blue-haired sameface)
Falcom fans clap
10/10
the story isn't 10/10 because it has some weird plotholes but the characters and whatnot are so enjoyable you kinda let it slide and dana is top tier
the rest is true
It's a Vita game
Reminds me of another island adventure on a handheld platform that ends quite similarly...
Ys VI, Oath, Origins, 1 and 2, (and the original IV games probably) are the best Ys imo.
But I do like Seven a lot and I'm having fun with this one.
SOVL
Retards can't enjoy a game without their ultra realistic ray tracing garbage
No wonder the industry keeps scamming you into paying more and more for games
Is that real dirt from a Falcom staff's backyard? KVNO
I think the original Trails in the Sky games aged very well. It's not super advanced or anything but it looks good. I think Trails in the Sky is more visually pleasing than Ys VIII.
Oddly enough the story has more in common with Death Stranding that coincidentally came out around the same time.
I wish it looked more like a ps2 game. The higher fidelity models on top of the lower fidelity worlds looks really jarring and cheap.
It looks like a falcom game.
No, this game is ass.
Yes, the game is kino.
Cunt
Hag...
I think that's a good explanation. I think this looks more consistent and better because of it.
...sex
They're using a custom engine
I want more games that look like this.
I don't mind the graphics
But the gameplay is awful and the story is dogshit
Japanese port that runs on potatoes at a flawless framerate
Nah, it's good.
I don't see how you could have a problem with the gameplay. I mean the button mapping takes some getting used to, but combat is pretty fun.
faggot probably played on easy and found flash moves too op
Never played Pyss 8 but Pyss 10 is awful
I hate how the characters don't seem to have any physics and the monsters are like a thin paper being attacked. Their animation is choppy.
I played on Hard difficulty and only died in the late game because I was bored with killing every monster in my path so I never grinded for the best equipments/exp
Gos tier animation
I guess I get that. But it scratches the Kingdom Hearts itch for me.
I love Falcom games but I wish they were working with Atlus level budgets. They're fun games, but I do think the low budgets hold them back a little bit.
I beat KH1/2/CoM/3/BBS in the hardest difficulty and the gameplay is great except for 1 and CoM.
I made the same mistake picking hard thinking the game would actually be hard like past ys titles
Picking nightmare every time starting from ys 9 now
i love ps2 graphics im more offended bu the ui
not enough default microsoft powerpoint assets for you?
I only started to hate ys because it's started to be similar to trails and I fucking hate trails and how falcom became a trails slop maker
Yeah but it's kino
They do at least make appealing designs for the girls
I'm embarrassed to tell people I like these games because I'm scared people will look up and see the optional sexy costumes and think I'm a coomer.
Your mom's pussy looks like a ps2 game ported to gameboy advance.
Considering how the girls look in AAA games, I find it to be a refreshing change of pace.
Like an earlier Anon said the story does have its faults, but it's so incredibly engaging and compelling that it isn't a problem. The map is a bit of a metroidvania, the amount of survivors you save lets you clear paths to other sections of the island. Also games that give true 100% endings are my SHIT, I fucking love that kind of stuff.
Do you have to do every single side quest to get the true ending?
CoM GBA is incredible actually. I only liked that and KH2FM.
Ys is alright I guess. I think the older isometric games have better game feel and so do other Falcom games like Gurumin. From Seven onwards the franchise got kinda limp dicked, hot girls aside. But Japanese ARPGs in general died around that time after peaking.
no
but also the sidequests are fun, i've only had to google one or two sidequests and some fish spots, this game is the antithesis of tedium
just accept it, then call them gay
I just don't want people to think I masturbate to anime.
The truth is, people are probably already thinking whatever they do anyways. All you can do is keep them suspecting it or to "confirm" it. By suspecting, I mean that they're looking to confirm it anyways. It's outside of your hands.
The combat on the highest difficult is useless and a waste of time because the spacing doesnt matter AT ALL, you just sit on your ass and wait for the proper moment to parry and that's all you do, unlike in the older Felghana/ Origins engine games where you actually need to know the spacing and how to play the game.
In fact, the best way to play those games is to skip the slop story (which I didn't do unfortunately) and just play boss rush mode on nightmare.
Ys combat was irreparably ruined in Seven.
why aren't they? people will literally swear off anime because the girls are TOO attractive like nigga you got one life on this planet and you wanna waste it?
It's a Vita game that was ported to PS4 and everything else after, so you aren't that far off.
combat was good and everyone except you thinks it's fun, cry about it
also 7 is good, cry some more
ARPGs in general died around that time after peaking.
That's not true man. Demon's Souls came out that year and that game and Dark Souls are incredible, before they became roll slop.
Also later on, Monster Hunter World came out and that game, solo, without cats and without rocksteady and the temporal mantle is phenomenal as well. Kinda like playing KH2FM on Critical.
combat was good
Any game that lets you sit in one place and parry does not have good combat period.
and everyone except you thinks it's fun
You can clearly see in the archives that actual Ys fans righfully shat on Seven and up games because
Just because you mouthbreathing secondaries circlejerk eachother, doesn't mean there aren't plenty of people who see how full on slop modern Falcom is.
wah
wah
No, you just have to save every survivor. That being said you get some really good shit from the sidequests and 100% completion for maps and stuff.
Trails sky remake looks a lot better desu
That looks good. I hope people won't be put off if they play it and then have to go back to the original version of SC if they want to continue the story.
actual Ys fans
Meaning?
jaded old faggots who don't enjoy anything anymore and want falcom to make the same game forever
Seeing how SC basically recycles all the map I dont see why wouldn't release sc even sooner. They even made a 3d map of Crossbell and now we know why
The Memoirs version of Felghana just came out so in a way they technically are
He is a thread killer larping as an old fan. He did the same for romancing saga 2 remake threads, and in falcom threads he just look at the wiki to larp as an oldfag of some obscure game until that game gets a remake or remaster, then he chooses another obscure game.
Appealing? The girls are all generic. The same 3D model with another hair
Why's there no version of Ys V in America. They should remake that one next.
Doesn't matter, they still have big boobs.
Kys FEtroon.
not enough deformities and skin conditions for you xis?
It's a great game
Not as generic as your criticisms
MH frankly peaked with 3G. It was the culmination of the series' identity up to that point.
I appreciate Dark Souls on an aesthetic/symbolic/level design perspective but the combat really isn't all that good. I'm the weird kind of guy that actually enjoyed DSII for being an ARPG blobber though. It felt very old school FromSoft-y.
Still, though, it's hard not to see the decline in gameplay design from that Tales of Destiny 2/KH2/TWEWY/Knights in the Nightmare/Fortune Summoners/etc era to what we started getting after 2010.
He did the same for romancing saga 2
I never visited a single saga thread you stupid fuck.
In fact I never played a SaGa game (exept The Last Remant which filtered me)
What is it with you "people" and boogeymen?
I just like arcade inspired action games, which the older (non bumper car) were if you played the boss rush mode.
Almost half a decade of existence
No cultural impact
No relevance
No good games
No popularity
How is Falcom so flopped as a company? A guy here in my city made a game and sold 1 million copies. I doubt any Ys has sold more than him.
Any game that lets you sit in one place and parry does not have good combat period.
W101 solved this with parries spending energy meter.
I just like arcade inspired action games
Which Ys games are not so you probably shouldn't be speaking for "actual Ys fans"
MH frankly peaked with 3G
But it had underwater combat.
Maybe one could argue that P3rd was the actual peak because the game was no gimmick, no bullshit version of P2nd but more polished and made the Longsword actually have some kind of a point with the combos increasing your damage.
Ys
is shit
shocking revelation
Century*
Underwater combat is good. The only issue is that it was designed specifically for the 3DS's stereoscopic depth effect so you start whiffing crits and dodges easily and not getting in the zone if you play it anywhere else.
BASED
I hate nu-falcom and nu-kiseki is trash
I like old falcom titles but the new ones are garbage
go back to xitter to discuss you FOTM shit with trannies, perhaps?
I think Trails is growing in popularity. Not as much with Ys. VIII was a big hit by Falcom standards but I'm not sure it carried over. I hope the remake of Trails in the Sky does well.
TITS 3rd and Vantage Master really are their only good turn based games
W101 solved this with parries spending energy meter.
Yeah, I like w101
They absolutely are you stupid fuck that's why there is an ACTION part of the actionrpg genre. I just dislike the rpg parts of older Ys games because the dialogue is pointless and the trash mobs are too easy. But the "actual ys fans" who like the rpg elemts of older games also dislike Seven and up which you can easily see in the archives.
Growing in popularity? I think Trails is losing popularity since CS4.
I saw a lot of people praising Trails Through Daybreak.
But the "actual ys fans" who like the rpg elemts of older games also dislike Seven and up which you can easily see in the archives.
I'm an actual Ys fan who likes the rpg elements and I like Seven and up and I'm here right now
no bro 6+ hour long RPGs with grinding are totally arcade-inspired i'm not a larping faggot, trust me, check the archives
anime trash doesn’t look good
Shocking
boss rushes in felghana take like 40 minutes tops
Nigga you're the one in the minority for playing Ys games exclusively for the boss rushes
only retards play ys for the story
Guess that makes you king of retard mountain huh
yep there's nothing else in ys it's either boss rush or story, the archives said so
yeah its comfy
I skip all cutscenes without little girls in them
ys threads have the most deranged antis
Ys VIII was the last good Falcom game.
I like Ys but it's okay to admit the newer party games aren't all that good and have pretty floaty game feel.
Then you just have shit taste.
Plenty of other games have better stories and gameplay than nu-Ys.
"a lot"
The game sold only 26,000 copies on Steam
The only place I see people talking about this game is here on Anon Babble and they are always talking how bad it is
User score is 7 on metacritic and the 2nd is even worse
I dropped it in chapter 3 when the characters started to be controlled by evil masks with the curse again. The same shit from Cold Steel and Reverie. Chapters 1 and 2 were already boring and I hated every character so far but chapter 3 is beyond the ridiculous
you should admit the thing you like is bad
what does this do for anyone?
flawed = bad
Gradients, man.
The older games are flawed too. That's obviously not the issue here
Daybreak is a huge sucess bro
At least it's not Cold Steel bro
At least it's not Rean bro
Haha...
Plenty of other games have better stories
sure
and gameplay
no
Fuck off tendie
Flawed in different ways, yes. And having different focuses. Clearly this is where preferences enter the conversation.
How we went from a bad game discussion (ys 8) to a garbage game discussion (daybreak)?
Well I see a lot of people saying it's great, and I'd say a lot of JRPG fans probably buy them on PlayStation. I'm not saying it's as big as Persona or anything but I see people liking it. I've also seen then saying that Trails Through Daybreak 2 is a disappointment, but I saw high praise for the first one.
how we went from whatsapp to Anon Babble saar?
if the games sell nintendomods would just ban the threads to Anon Babble
Lmao
floaty
Thats a word that mean not on a nitendo platform, in my experience
What do preferences have to do with "admitting" a game's objective quality? Why do we have to "admit" the newer games aren't that good and not the older ones because they DEFINITELY aren't the masterpieces they're treated as
game feel
Growing in popularity? I think Trails is losing popularity since CS4.
Trails series sold 1 million units last year. It's objectively getting more popular, the only reason Daybreak isn't selling massively is because they're 11th and 12th games in the series. Daybreak isn't going to see immediate sales since people getting into it now are starting either at Sky or Cold Steel and have to get there first and the average person isn't a NEET that can blast through the entire series in a couple months.
That's a good point. Also there's probably some people who are interested in the series but are waiting for the remake of the first one.
Yeah but the old ones feel good to play and enemy designs are like mini shmup boss patterns instead of parry slop.
niggas when they see witch time in bayonetta: rollslop
niggas when they see a parry in literally any 3d action game:
parryslop
Yeah, people don't realize that the Trails games have legs and the people getting into them tend to actually go through the older games first instead of just jumping straight to the newest ones. So people see a new Trails game come out and "under perform" in those retarded famitsu sales threads but then you look at the sales data for the entire series that Falcom releases and see that overall the series is selling pretty well. A lot of Anon Babble users can't comprehend games selling steadily over years.
They think people dont have lives nor wait for sales.
RE games actually sell more next years thanks to the big sales
I got interested in the series when Daybreak came out, but I only bought the first three games when they were on sale. Played those and moved on from there. The big drawing point definitely is the lore and the way the games build on each other, so if you've been sold on the concept, you'll definitely start at the beginning. And I'm really glad I did.
This game is so comfy and I wish more games had this vibe.
Ys games having amazing music is nothing new but holy FUCK this track is good.
It is literally, thematically perfect to set the mood in the fights it is used for too.
Is Ys 1 and 2 worth playing in the current year?
Sure, they are good games
Ys games having amazing music
More like had, the former president fucked over the sound team so hard they left in mass exodus basically after 8. The last couple games have been going through the backlog of premade stuff they submitted and Singashit. And it's especially frustrating because Singa can put out good tracks, he just phones it the fuck in constantly.
What? How? The only good thing Falcom and GUST had were their sound teams.
Oh...
Lacrimosa of Dana IS the most "recent" Ys I've played so I didn't know this... That's unfortunate to hear.
It's in here: docs.google.com
Ctrl F "The situation with Singa" without the quotes.
2 sucks nigger
i played summoner 1 to play a slower paced rpg not hack and slash because everyone was following trends
I can confidently say this is the one and only JRPG series that still holds onto its PlayStation 2-era identity. It stays true to itself, creating and selling what it genuinely is. If I had to compare it to an artist, it’s like someone who simply changed their tools with the times, from pencil to pen to tablet but never once changed their artistic vision.
You can’t even find games that make trailers like this anymore. youtube.com
Just the music and cinematography alone instantly tell you: this is a traditional Japanese game, made by Japanese people, for Japanese people. There’s not a single trace of "gaijin" influence in the equation.
for me it's Iclucian Dance, the best track in Ys VIII
FUFU
It's pretty based. I have to respect it.
Vita game still looks better than a Switch 2 game
really makes you think
try it and from your own opinion
