I didn't want to like it (fuck nintendo) but damn, this is a masterpiece.

the backtracking is horrible and the level design sucks too. The combat is shit, exploration is pathetic (wow, +5 missiles?!??!?! holy shit!) and the artifact hunt is a chore.
Game is genuinely shit. No wonder Halo ate its lunch.
I really dislike 3D Metroid.
Metroid Fusion is even better. You need to get on that kino if you haven't already. I like Fusion even more than Super Metroid. I prefer the movement and combat in it, and while the game is more linear, I can live with that
2d metroid is better desu
think about it, this is the best a game has ever aged
bait used to be believable.
I like Anon Babble too
Backtracking + artifact hunt ruin an otherwise good game
What part of the game is good?
i think the opposite, i think it got so much praised because of the good graphics at the time + 3d graphics. the whole press a indefinitely around a boring lock gets really old. good thing the game still shines in other areas
you say that because the switch gaùme doesnt improve graphically which is caused by nintendo being shit and switch 2 barely running ps4 games when it will have to compete with the fkin PS6 in a couple years
I liked the artifact hunt. I enjoyed revisiting old areas.
Gaylo
Why even bring your braindead linear dudebro shooter garbage as a comparison? Metroid has always been about exploration and backtracking a hallmark of the series.
primefags do it all the time. Halo has much better combat and music.
I went through it with a guide and 100%ed it on hard recently. takes all the stress out of missing an artifact, upgrades, etc. It's a beautiful game. not sure what to play next fellas :(
Escape sequence from the Orpheon
Initial exploration of overworld/ruins
Flaaghra
Phendrana
Encountering a Metroid
Phendeana pirate base with the lights out
Half pipes
The Phazon Mines gauntlet leading up to the invisible robot
Omega Pirate
One-shot Ridley Phase 1 with the Boost Ball
HYPER MODE
Autistic fps babies literally just want to shoot things. Any other element be it key hunting, exploration, platforming is forbidden. That's why i never recommend Prime to retarded fps fanatics aka doom/gaylo babies.
It's a shame the exploration and platforming is such shit in prime. Scanning is such a garbage mechanic.
Impressive for the time and elements like the music hold up for sure. Unlike 2d metroid it isn't timeless. Super metroid and zero mission mog prime despite Super metroid being even older. There's life left in the prime formula but only if you pried it out of nintendo's retarded claws. Remove lock on, speed up scanning by 3x, give samus a melee parry/riposte defensive option, and for the love of god design competent, fast, and dangerous enemies.
Same. Playing one was fine, but then it just got old. Nintendo will never make another metroidvania, or at least a true one where you can go nearly anywhere and actually have to explore and potentially get lost.
How is generic, repetitive boring ass FPS combat any better or comparable to movement based combat with focus on boss fights? Just like Doom babies, all Halo babies can play is the same game over and over. There is nothing else like Metroid Prime, stick to your generic space marine trash, disgusting brainless pleb
the backtracking is horrible and the level design sucks too. Exploration is pathetic
False and adhd minded. Rest is true.
I mean there are sequels.
First person "platforming" without momentum mechanics is pointless. Unless your game has slope surfing mechanics what are you even doing? Prime "puzzles" and exploration are nothing to care about.
The ideal prime game exists and it has zero combat. It is called outer wilds.
+5 missiles have been deposited in your account
Half the enemies in prime don't even fight back.
There is nothing else like Metroid Prime
Powerslave showed you don't have to make your game boring just because it's got exploration in it. If anybody other than Nintendo made this game it would have been slaughtered. Powerslave also did all this half a decade before Prime was shat out.
prime
movement based
Kek
Those are some of the things which Metroid Prime gets recognition for. Again, stick to your Serious Sam/painkiller ADHD riddled autistic trash and fuck off.
Which other games are proportionately designed? i.e. solid mix of combat, exploration, good art / music
i wish you could dodge without locking on in primehack. ideally would work exactly like Unreal.
You never have moved a muscle in your life. Jump off a bridge retarded faggot.
It seems it only gets recognition for it by people who do not play any games. Prime could never work on a platform with games.
The blogg will swim aimlessly for 30 more seconds without charging for every stupid thing you say.
Unreal is stale garbage, holy shit.
Do autistic fps babies play other than shooters? I am glad your trash genre fucking died.
Metroid Prime is an adventure game in first person. Not a BRAINLESS shooter for brainlets aka doom/halo babies and Quack Fags.
Metroid Prime is an adventure game in first person
It's a first person shooter, and very bad one.
The Phazon Mines gauntlet leading up to the invisible robot
I hated this part with passion. You went through all that shit only to get clapped right before the end and then having to do all of it again.
Of course on subsequent playthroughs it's fine because it's impossible to die in the game when you know the ins and outs
Metroid Prime 2 is the best Metroid game, period.
That's the ultimate filter part of Prime 1, even moreso than the artifact hunt.
In retrospect I never beat the Sentry Drone without using the Wavebuster, that must suck if you don't think to use it.
i just said the dodging controls could be better with m&kb
Wow it's.....a movie.
Funny, you say that, I played Halo 1 a while back with the MCC and I thought it was dogshit, while Prime Remastered I liked even more than when I played it as a child, Halo was always overrated garbage
the remaster was good, fags
b-but the beam doesn't illuminate the room
don't care
Dark Samus fight music is kino, wonder if she'll somehow be back in Beyond. Never say never, especially if there's time travel/mindscape stuff
How the fuck do people get filtered by Metroid Prime of all things. I beat this game as a five year old who couldn’t even read English
masterpiece
Finally played all three games for the first time last year (original release versions) (on official hardware). The only problem I have with Prime is that it’s practically a walking sim for most of the game. It’s beautiful / immersive, especially for a game released over 20 years ago for a home console, but you’ll be asleep at the wheel when the game randomly decides to kick your ass in the mines (which become fairly easy once you wake back up). Enemy design / patterns kind of suck, but you can sort of appreciate that (and the overall controls) when playing with the GameCube controller (as intended).
If you found yourself getting bored in Prime, Echoes was WAY more engaging in my experience. It respects your ability right of the gate with enemies that pose an actual threat.
It's boring.
Based anon. The only thing the original game did better than the remake was feature glitches for sequence breaking, and even then? A lot of those were removed in versions released after launch. MPR is the definitive edition.
It’s still kind of frivolous to remake Prime in my opinion. That being said, I plan on trying out a free version or cheap, second-hand copy eventually. I don’t buy remakes, especially for games that I already own.
halofag trying to shit up thread
Reminder that Halo is dead and Metroid is experiencing its second golden age. Know your place, trash.
A lot of people really missed the boat with Prime Trilogy on Wii at $50 or Wii U for fucking $20. I think the first week it was available it was even at half price to try and sell the failing system, somehow. Simpler times.
Echoes does feel like a game you should play after Prime 1, because the difficulty is quite high if you were to start with it. The enemies and bosses in Prime 1 didn't really do anything, then in Prime 2 they are way more aggressive and active in trying to do stuff to you
halo was always super fucking dull. i played MP1 recently for the first time and it actually managed to hold my attention.
