Also, that's "total games played", not "finished". When I first found out about emulation over 20 years ago I could check out like 200 games in a day. That's "200 games played", even if for 5 minutes.

If you take literally every browser/flash game, especially on the sites that deluge you with them, I'm sure a large amount of people would have technically played 1000+ "games", but putting them on the same list with proper games (or listing them to begin with) is just so pointless.

I've beat 24 new games this year and replayed some titles despite 2025 being one of my busiest years (and in 2024 I beat 101 games despite transferring from one full-time job to another). Even if your raw number of hours available goes down, you can keep the # of games beat the same by playing shorter games instead of only 60+ hour ones

To be somebody who both notes down every form of entertainment they go through but also go through such a large amount goes past journaling. This is already too impractical to go through, this is more tied to the idea of having a big list, either to show others or as an ego boost to himself for being somebody who does a lot.
It's the digital equivalent of decorational bookshelves, which you're sure with most people they've not read every book in, nor is it a way to journal them, just gives the air of being well versed.
